Registry Modification allow Larger Images

I have two WIN7 Pro 64 bit 32 GB RAM machines.  On one I have both Elements 13 and Elements 12 installed.  I converted v12 to v13.1 recently.  In following the (very dated) script to override the maximum image size limit for the Organizer I found that only v12 is listed in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Adobe\elements organizer\12.0\Organizer.  There is no listing that I can find for elements organizer\13.0 (or 13.1)\Organizer.
Is this an issue for my converted catalog?  Has v13.1 really been fully installed?
Is this registry hack still valid?
If I delete the v12 catalog, will the registry entry change?  Or will I find myself with no functioning catalog?

Having the same problem here. Anybody has an solution, please?
thanks

  • How to allow the image tab to work properly for changing to larger images.

I am very new in using Adobe creative cloud, and have had my shre of issues, mostly with preference setting, and I am having a issue with going to the image tab, and trying to take an image from a smaller image to a large image and it will take the computer a considerable link of time to reaat to this, sometimes up to five to ten minutes,
Last week I had a siamialr problem with under adjsutaments and curvesd and exposure, and when hitting tthe preview, it would njot come u so technicain had me go to the preference and change some of the settings and this fixed this problem,.  any help would be greatly appreciated.  thank you

Actually, I try to modify this example.

I can change initializingLabel, it does work. But whatever i

I think maybe i did wrong to define the value.

  • Is it possible to downsize a large image on the server side (before serving it to the user)?

One of the banes of my existence is resizing the same image several times because of the various contexts it appears in. For example, the main image in an article will appear bigger than it will on the index page, where many article teasers are placed. Then there's the image that goes in the Facebook "share" og. Then there's... you get the idea.
Same image, different contexts, lots of Photoshop resizing, lots of files to keep track of... but I save on bandwidth.
On the flip side, I can target the same (large) image and simply downsize via traditional HTML (width/height) on the browser end, but that will mean downloading a file that is 50-75% larger than what is actually needed. If the front page teaser displays a 1280px image at 500px, that's a huge (and potentially costly) waste of bandwidth.
    HOWEVER...
If I could do the same thing on the SERVER side... in other words, tell the server to take only the pixels it needs from the (large) image and serve only THOSE to the end user... then the same image could be used in each and every context, and only the necessary bandwidth is used.
Is this do-able? If so, what is the process formally called, and where would I begin to learn how to do it?
    Thanks!

That's amazing. I didn't think it was possible without saving files on the server first.
This will suit my needs just fine, but allow me to push my luck even further with the following "hail mary" question : would it be possible for the server to serve the PNG with a width of 100% of the container? In other words, the behavior would mimic width=100% but the server would still only serve as many bytes as are needed to fill that space.
Not only would I not have to create separate files for every resize (we fixed that problem with your suggestion) but I wouldn't even have to customize every link to a specific size.
I'm not expecting an affirmative on this one, but it was worth asking. =)

  • Trying to link a thumbnail in one frame to a larger image in another frame GOLIVE 9...

    Hi.
I am using Adobe Golive 9.
I found a tutorial on the internet that allows you to create an image gallery with clickable thumbnails
    http://www.tutorialhero.com/click-48179-create_an_image_gallery_with_clickable_thumbnails. php
However, the tutorial is designed for a page without frames.
I want to be able to do this using frames.
I want to link a thumbnail on a page in one frame to a larger image on another page, so that when your mouse is over the thumbnail,
the larger version appears in the other frame.
This is what my frames look like so you get an idea of what I'm trying to do
And here is a picture of the thumbnail in the lower frame and the larger image in the frame above it.
Could someone please give me STEP BY STEP instructions on how to do this?  I'm new to Golive, using version GOLIVE 9, and I know this can be accomplished using "Set Image URL"  but have no idea how to do it.
Thank you for your help all.
    Chris.

A link in one frame is designed to call another page into some other frame, not an image. You can't use SetImageUrl across different pages. You'd probably have to put each of your large images on a page, and call each page each time. I'm not sure why you're so set on using frames, they have many disadvantages.

  • Roll over to view larger image, click to select

Which combined server behaviors or technologies would allow
me to create a dynamic image gallery of thumbnails that when you
roll over any thumbnail image (images are populated via repeat
region recordset behavior), you can view a larger image. Selecting
a thumbnail would select the larger image version.
I do not need to know how to create the thumbnail images
(this would be achieved via aspjpeg with a repeat region applied to
it) but rather how to make it work as explained.
    check out
    https://www.schooloutfitters.com/catalog/product_info/pfam_id/PFAM898/products_id/PRO987
    for an example.

OK so I'm almost there! A little more help if it's not too much trouble.
I've used the "mouse-over to enlarge" example and it seems to be working.
The images sit together top left (ie. the larger image appears over the top of the smaller image and both top left corners of the images sit in the same x and y position - it appears to grow to the right and down!). Can I change this so that the images sit in the same position bottom right and the image grows bigger, up and right?
Alternatively if it's easier I could do "mouse-over and click", but I need the click to open my image in a new window, sized to the image (so I can still see the main page in the original browser window).
    Thanks again

  • Displaying Large Images and Out of Memory Error

    hi,
I am relatively new to JAVA and I have been trying to display a large jpeg in a scrollpane. The image is about 30 mb in size and is very long. When compressed the image is very small (1mb) but when uncompressed it increases in size due to the black background. I have been looking all over the place to find a method to display such a large image. I read a little bit about the JAI and its tile features but I am not really familiar with it. Also the image has to be displayed in an applet. the whole mess has to do with the JAVA VM memory restrictions as it does not have enough memory to process the image. Is there a way to uncompress a part of the JPEG and display it or assign addittional memory to JAVA. I will really appreciate any help on this topic.
    thanks

    Hiya.
I can't say I know how to save Java from large images, but you can up the memory allocated to the JVM:
    java -Xmx120M ...
will give 120M to the JVM (max). There is an -Xms also which gives the initial allowed space.
    Regards.

  • Can't load large image (png)

I have a sandbox web page with large image (png file 26000x13000, 14MB packed/330MB unpacked). I can open it in IE but firefox display page without image. I have 1,2GB of free RAM, how can I adjust settings to make allow firefox display the image? Currently there is no difference if I use unpacked BMP, it doesn't work as well. I would prefer to stay with PNG since it's only 14MB on disk.

    Is there an error message?
We've been able to load more than 100MB files.

  • Optimization on Load Time (Large Images and Sounds)

    Hi,
I have an all flash website that works by having each portion of it to load and unload in the center of a frame based off the navigation chosen.  Load times on everything but one part of my site are ok.
The dimensions of the part inside the frame are 968x674.  I know that's relatively large for a flash file, but that can't be changed at this point.
Within the page there are objects that come up when you find an item on the screen.  Its a dialog box and it shows text, an image, and has a voice over that reads what the text says.  After you're done looking at it, there is an x-button to dismiss the window.  There are 15 of these and they are exported to the actionscript.  I add them in the actionscript via addChild.  I figured this is a huge spot that could be reconfigured, but I'm not sure if it would make much a difference.
The other huge thing is there is a ton on the screen.  It starts you off in an environment, and when you click 3 different sections, it zooms into that portion allowing you to look for the items you're trying to find.
There is also a man that talks and animates in the beginning and at the end.  We are planning on taking out the end part and putting a text box up.
Here is the website..  its a propane safety site for kids.  I know its kind of a weird idea, but it works and people seem to like it.

The two parts of the site we are trying to optimize is the main menu when you first are at the site, and the "Explore" section.  (Just click on the cloud on the front page.
If someone could take the time to give me some new ideas of how I can get these loading times down, I would greatly appreciate it!
    Thanks

  • Thumbnail image links to larger image - how?

Mac OX 10.4.11 - GoLive CS(1) I want to create a series of thumbnail images that would act as link to a single large image area (see example http://www.markvelasquez.com/gallery.php?cid=1&pid=5 but ignore the dubious images). 10 or so different thumbnail images would show singularly in the large image area only, and only when activated by a click on a thumbnail.
I have used slide show (SlideShow.action) in the past but this does not allow for user randon choice, is there an action for this in GoLive.

    Hi...
You didn't mention whether you wanted a free or commercial Action so have a look at CyberGallery 6.1 for GoLive at http://www.actionscafe.com/Features_Folder/CyberGallery/cgfeatures.html. The GoLive version doesn't have some of the later Dreamweaver features but will let you set up a thumbnails that expand into full size display images when they are clicked.

  • Clone tool broken for large images

The clone tool from the retouch brick hangs Aperture 3 every time when applied to large images.
By large I mean .tiff files that exceed a 100MB or so. When adding strokes with the clone brush, at some point the thumbnail processing hangs and the browser thumbnail turns black with some garbled pixels along the upper edge. The processing wheel will turn forever while updating 2 thumbnails. No progress is made and no CPU time is used.
Deleting brush strokes will bring Aperture to life again.
There seems to be a relation between the size of the image file and the number of clone strokes allowed. At 1GB just one stroke will do it.
Somehow it looks like a different incarnation of the "maroon screen" i.e. "unsupported image format" bug from version 2.

Yep, seeing that here too, with my large TIFF files scanned from Mamiya 645 slides.

  • Dividing One large Image to many smaller images

    Dear Java developers,
I have 1 Large Image, and I want to divide it
into many smaller images, But I don't see
any Java API to make it...
    Anybody can help me ?
    Thanks in Advance,

I'd guess using BufferedImage and subimages thereof is faster than filtering it. Although it depends much on the implementation of the original image source, and its caching strategies. But it's pretty certain that when you are creating a BufferedImage which is appropriate for you current color model, you avoid most conversions which may be needed when rendering directly from an image source.
Having said that, the image source and filtering way may even use more memory and cpu than the buffered image way. At least temporary. But the image source is allowed to release almost all memory associated with the image, down to retaining only the original URL.
    In simpler words:
    - With BufferedImage you can be quite sure how much memory it will need. Add up the space needed for the Raster and auxiliary data and there you are. It won't change much over time. But it's not present in JDK 1.1.
    -- Simple, predictable and modern.
    - ImageSource is pretty much opaque in how much memory it will use. However, it's interface allows dropping most resources and re-creating them on demand. Of course, you'll know what it does when you're implementing it yourself. Which I tend to do from time to time.
-- Complex (flow control), opaque but present in JDK 1.1.
Your mileage may vary. There would be no challenge in programming if there were no tough decisions to be made ;-)

  • Resizing a large image(86400 x 43200) into smaller tiles

    Hello,
I am working with a VERY large image (86400 x 43200). I need to resize this into smaller images (7200x7200) the fixed size crop tool is painstakingly slow, is there a plugin or automation script that will do this for me?
My system should be able to handle this:
    Phenom 9600
    XFX 5770
    4gb DDR 1066
    Windows 7-x86
    Photoshop CS4
Any Help would be greatly appreciatated!
    -James

You may be able to change that behavior by adjusting the amount of RAM you allow Photoshop to use in the Edit - Preferences - Performance dialog.  Keep in mind you'll need to shut down and restart Photoshop after having made a change to the setting.

  • Tiling or slicing large images in tables? Completely outdated?

I'm working through the XHTML tutorials on Lynda.com
The instructor does a demo of slicing a large image with sections that have animated .gifs. He slices the static portions and slices the animated portions and then combines them in a 3 slice x 3 slice table.
He says "I still prefer to do this with tables, since it's what it was designed for."
I know tables are outdated, but I'm not sure if it's in all respects. Like if I was going to do a data table, I certainly would use tables...
Im not sure when this video was made, but is it still in practice and a good practice?
He then shows a similar demo of how to combine slices using CSS. Is this outdated too? Are people still slicing large images?

Unlike print design where everything is static and unchanging, web pages need to be flexible and web accessible to accommodate all users, displays and devices.
Image slices have their plusses and minuses.  Occasionally, you may need them to create a flexible container that resizes to content.
3 image slices in a CSS layout ~
         http://alt-web.com/DEMOS/Image-slices-in-a-CSS-based-layout.shtml
That said, you can add visual interest to web pages without a lot of images using CSS.
         2-image web page design ~
         http://alt-web.com/TEMPLATES/2-image-web-design.shtml
Finally, have a look at CSS Zen Garden where the power of CSS is demonstrated.
Each page contains identical HTML markup but with wildly different styles.
Hopefully this will inspire you to move away from tables and use CSS for primary layouts.
