Registry Patches for Satellite A210

Hello,
I have found two registry patches for the Satellite A210-103:
- version 1.0 for "Storage Configuration Patch"
- version 1.2 for "Registry Patch for Devices and Printers"
Does anybody know what this registry patches are doing and how can I verify the registry that this patches are installed.

As the name said these registry patches updates some of the Win 7 registry entries.
The registry patch 1.0 changes the entries for Storage Configuration (HDD, SD card Etc)
The registry patch 1.2 change some entries which are responsible for some USB devices
This is all what I know about these patches
However, if you have installed Win 7 then it would be advisable to execute both patches.

They compatible for Satellite A210-1AO, Part Number: PSAELE-03Q009G3 (BIOS version/date TOSHIBA V2.0, 2008.06.10)?

1. When I press power button notebook and OS start as usual.
2. When I press power button and after I turn PC to BIOS mode, PC is crashing (shortly).
3. So, I checked using standard OS tools hard disks for errors (errors was on disk where OS and all software installed. All errors was fixed).
4. After I started using standard OS tools (Start from: BIOS->System start from CD-Rom with tools on CD) RAM memory test.
5. On stage Test All Memory PC crashed. (No any dumps/logs left in the system about crashing).
6. Now I need to do some physical manipulations. Ill have check each memory module. And I don't know how looking my motherboard, what is where on it. Where I can see scheme with details, names and elementary explanations (what is what)?
Im not sure, but motherboard should be IALAA..?

But I must warn you, , momentarly there except for Wireless and the Display no other drivers available. Either they will upload the other one or you will have to search for the remaining drivers in the internet (like LAN, flashmedia, etc..)
But I think they should update the section soon and make the drivers available for us..

Hi Folks,
i need your help. I'm looking for WinXP Driver for this Notebook but didnt find anything from Toshiba.
I tryed to install the Omegadrivers for the Display and the VIA Allinone Driver package for the chipset, but it does not work.
Can someone tell wich chipset is installed on the Mainboard and which Graphic Card is used in this Model?

CD/DVD Drive software needed for Satellite A210

Where can I download the drivers for the cd/dvd drive for my A210 laptop I checked the drivers download page on the toshiba website but there's nothing?

The ODD driver is a part of the Windows OS.
The Windows uses the common Microsoft driver and therefore there is no driver on the Toshiba page.
But why you want to install such driver?
Isnt the CD/DVD drive listed in the device manager?

Can't install Adobe registry patch for DW/Vista conflict

Running Vista Business, Dreamweaver 8.02 installed. After
losing the use of Vista help function, I downloaded the registry
fix from Adobe's KB article (

When I double click the file provided in the article
(DW8_Fix_Help_and Support.reg), I get the following error:
"Cannot import...Not all data was successfully written to the
registry. Some keys are open by the system or other processes."
No applications are running at the time. I have rebooted and
tried again with no success.
I am doing this while logged into a "standard user" account.
I noticed that I was able to make the registry fix when logged in
as an administrator, but when I log back in as a standard user the
Vista Help still won't function.
Just curious--anybody else have this problem? Should I be
performing my everyday tasks while logged into my administrative
account? I thought you weren't supposed to do this as a security
precaution.

Hi there, I had this problem weeks ago - my Vista Ultimate
Help and Support can't open. As I realized later, this was due to
my DW 8 installed, and both had the XML crash. My system had that
fix installed successfully and I think there may be some
restrictions on your system.
1. Have you tried "Running as Administrator" on the fixes
(ie. Right-click on the application and choose 'Run as
Administrator'?
2. Maybe you had the wrong permissions set on your account -
that's why you could only have certain permission even when you are
on Administrator account.
If you still can't access it, you may want to try out

Need XP drivers for Satellite A210-12Y (PSAELE)

Hi,
I'm a young professional and I have the need for using Windows XP to work since Vista isn't quite as reliable. Unfortunately I noticed that the drivers for said OS were not yet released (with my disappointment) on Toshiba's website.
Could you please give me some indication on how to solve this problem? Or shall I just wait for the release of said drivers from the main website (hoping this happens any time soon)?

Hi mate,
you have two options:
1. Collect the drivers from the internet by the hardware manufacturers, for example: chipset is from intel -> go to www.intel.com and download drivers from there, graphics is Nvidia -> go to www.laptopvideo2go.com, sound is a realtek chip -> www.realtek.com and so on. Do you know what I mean?
2. Wait until toshiba releases the XP drivers for this model type. I dont when but it would be there when its there. ;)

Satellite A350D-20K - What is fingerprint utility and registry patch?

I am using Satellite A350D-2Ok. Originally its OS was Vista 32bit, I change it to Windows 7 64bit I searched drivers for Windows 7 64bit here. Then I saw a driver or installer for finger print utility so I was confused if what is that for? I downloaded it and installed it but I can't see any new installed application or software in my laptop? I also Checked it to the C:/programfiles bur still I don't saw it..
Can you guys explain me what is that installer for? What is the use of it how it works or all about it in short.
Second thing is I also saw registry patch from the list so I also Download it. What is Registry patch for and when do I need to use that?

I think the same says everything If your notebook has a fingerprint reader you need this tool/driver to use them. Otherwise you dont need it. ;)
Generally speaking fingerprint reader and the utility can be used to replace the Windows login password. You can use your finger to login into Windows if you have such fingerprint reader.
2.Registry patch
Everything about these patches you can find on driver details on Toshiba page:

Need sound and webcam drivers for Satellite A660-156

hi all,
my hard disk was physically damaged and replaced by new one. All data and setting were copied.
But I found that no sound and webcam drivers are installed. I successfully had found them and installed, but still no changes. See sound icon with 'no sound' indication, click on it to fix the problem, but no problems have been found.
Offered to see additional info or close the window. On Toshiba website found two sound drivers, but it doesn't help.
Any idea how to fix that problem?

Satellite 5200 - Need master/slave patch for new DVD drive

I need a patch for DVD to use in a Satellite 5200.
My original DVD is broken, so i bought a Toshiba SD-C2512 DVD but it is not working inside the Satellite, but with adaptor at my Desktop PC.
I have to patch the DVD to Master.
Where can I get the file and prog to patch?

I think such patches that you mean are not available and as far as I know if you can switch a notebook from Master to Slave for example there is a jumper on the drive.
However, for me it sounds like that the drive is not compatible with this notebook. Not every drive is compatible with every notebook (e. g. pin assignment, ) ;)
You should buy another one and check the user manual. There you should find a list of compatible drives.

Does Satellite A210 supports S/PDIF for 5.1 sound?

Can someone help me?
MY laptop has 2 jack connectors for sound (Satellite a210) ... one is mic in and one is headphones.
If you take a look at the attached picture ( http://tinypic.com/view.php?pic=91cpoo&s=5 ) i have a DIGITAL JACK hdmi.... (i dont have a hdmi conn on my laptop)
My question is... this jack is s/pdif?
I'm asking this because I would be very happy if i can connect my 5.1 logitech Z5500 to my laptop and have a 5.1 sound.
Now i have only stereo sound.

The screenshot which you have posted in your posting shows the audio properties of HDMI port! This has nothing to do with the headphone jack or microphone jack
Of course many or some notebooks are equipped with a headphone jack which would provide an additional SPDIF (digital) audio output but this has nothing to do with HDMI.
However, if you want to know if your notebooks headphone jack supports s/pdif then check your user manual. There should be mentioned if headphone jack provide an digital audio output too.
PS; What A210-xxx do you have exactly?

I have a Satellite A210-16F laptop with a Ati Mobility Radeon HD 2600 graphic card...
After checking my device manager i found out that my graphic drivers are from 2007 which can't be good :S but for the life of me i can't find the right drivers anywhere... if you check out the screenshot, you will see that the drivers are from 2007 and after i click on "update driver" and then "search automatically for updated driver software" it never finds anything and tells me that my drivers are up-to-date :SS Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!
Oh, also, my OS is Vista Home Premium (32-bit)

One solution for your problem is, that if you upgraded your OS to Windows 7, there's a new driver for Mobility Radeon 2000 Series (Catalyst 9.6) on the ATI/AMD driver page(that one with the OS selector etc..). It's states however, that these drivers are for 7's beta releases only, but if you install them even on regular Win7 system, they're working fine and after a while an update for them appears in Windows update(It should update to Catalyst 9.7). I run them almost a week without a problem and it even resolved my Mass Effect 2 crashing issue.
One problem remains though that the driver is only for Win7(when you select Vista, it's really annoying: "Please contact your device driver manufacturer..." for you.).
It's truly more annoying than sad, that Toshiba, although in the Win7 supported laptop models list states that P200/A200 series are supported, the only thing supported after all seems to be a bluetooth module(since only that one got a new driver). So far there was no problem with an old display driver for 2600, but recently the new Mass Effect 2 crashes almost randomly during loading stages(with error log in computer management stating that the faulting module is ATI(anything here), and I only expect more such errors/problems with new games to come, because almost 2 years old drivers! So I think guys in Toshiba software engineering should really wake up.

If I were you I would take look to the Drivers Download site of the Toshiba mainpage, because there you can find everything you need.
The mass storage controller can either be the HDD controller or the SD-card controller. I would download both of them.

Hello!
I want to install Windows XP on my notebook. I tried to find suitable drivers for my model on http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/ and found only 6 (3 firmware upgrades + 1 BIOS upgrade + WLAN + Bluetooth Stack). Where I can find other drivers?
I also tried to found drivers for A100 series - there are much for it. Maybe I can download drivers for other A-model and install them on A210-1AO?

More XP drivers are not available for this A210 PSAELE series.
But dont give up buddy
Some other A210 models were equipped with the same devices and therefore the XP drivers released for other notebooks could run on your A210.
I think you should simply try to reinstall some drivers and should test it

How to uninstall the program "Utilities" from the Satellite A210

How can I unistall the program "Utilities" from the Satellite A210. In the control panel I can uninstall the program "Value Added Package" but not "Utilities".
With the A210 I can't work with the FN keys and on a German Toshiba help website I have found this information:

After clean OS you must install all necessary drivers and Toshiba tools and utilities. Just when everything is installed properly you will have well working operating system. Problem is that you cannot install all this in some alphabetical sequence but following right installation order.
I don't have Satellite A210 and cannot offer you exact installation order but it must be something like this one:
-Win7
-chipset driver
-storage manager
-display driver
-sound driver
-modem driver
-LAN/WLAN driver
-supervisor utility
-Synaptics touchpad driver
-Card reader
-Webcam driver
-patches

-VAP
-Toshiba hardware setup

Please note
VAP is package with follow applications:
- Toshiba Components Common Driver
- Toshiba Utilities

As far as I know you cannot remove one single application. What I always do is to remove whole VAP and after notebook restart I start VAP installation again but not as standard installation. I use custom installation. There you can choose which application should be installed and which not.
To be honest I have very good experience with Win7 installation and if everything is installed properly you should be able to use flash cards with FN button.
