  • Export Oriented Unit with DTA

    Hi All,
This is regarding Export Oriented Unit vendor with DTA declaration.
(EOU  vendor is one who have to export all the material manufactured by them. But if they declare DTA than then they can sell in domestic market)
The invoice of EOU with DTA looks some what like this:
    *** Value                    Rs 335169/-
    Basic Custom Duty @ 2.5%           Rs   8379
    CVD@ 16.48%( includes E Cess & Sec Cess)     56617/-
Edu cess @ 2% ( Cal on all preceding duties)       1300/-
SCess @ 1%( Cal on all preceding duties)               650/-
    CST                         12063/-
    Total Invoice amount               414178/-
Please guide how to map this in  during PO in CIN. This is a business requirement.
    Regards
    Subodh

    Hai Subodh
I am also facing the same scenario as you faced earlier.
"The invoice of EOU with DTA looks some what like this:

Kindly let me know how to setup the system to acheive above requirement
    Thanks in advance.

  • Export Oriented Unit EOU supplying material to Non-EOU

How to configure such a requirement. My present scenario is as follows:
Material sent from EOU to Non EOU plants under SOPO with Basic+ Excise+ Custom Duty in SOPO method. Custom Duty Loaded on Material, Excise charged is taken as CENVAT Credit, Receivable u2013 Payable Adjustment for Customer/Vendor Knocking Off.
Additional New Reqd: The above process will be followed along with the process where the material will be purchased from EOU by NON EOU under advance license. u2013 Material will be transferred only on basic price with NIL Duties (Custom Duty &All Excise).
    Regards,
    Arun

Hi, If your plant is in excise free zone, the excise amount will have to be loaded to material cost at the time of GR as per procurement cycle.for that you need to use the non-deductible excise conditions for BED(JMIP), ECess(JECI) and SECess(JSEI).
In the same way when you are transferring the material from excisable plant to non-excisable Plant, the excise amount to be captured from the supplying plant and while doing inbound delivery the excise cost will be sumed off with the material cost.In the reverse case there is a loss of excise,So I hope this is not a allowed business otherwise in the excise Plant you have to make Gr by selecting No excise in the excise Tab at header of the MIGO.

In general theory, one now has the Edit button for their posts, until someone/anyone Replies to it. I've had Edit available for weeks, as opposed to the old forum's ~ 30 mins.
That, however, is in theory. I've posted, and immediately seen something that needed editing, only to find NO Replies, yet the Edit button is no longer available, only seconds later. Still, in that same thread, I'd have the Edit button from older posts, to which there had also been no Replies even after several days/weeks. Found one that had to be over a month old, and Edit was still there.
Do not know the why/how of this behavior. At first, I thought that maybe there WAS a Reply, that "ate" my Edit button, but had not Refreshed on my screen. Refresh still showed no Replies, just no Edit either. In those cases, I just Reply and mention the [Edit].
Also, it seems that the buttons get very scrambled at times, and Refresh does not always clear that up. I end up clicking where I "think" the right button should be and hope for the best. Seems that when the buttons do bunch up they can appear at random around the page, often three atop one another, and maybe one way the heck out in left-field.
While I'm on a role, it would be nice to be able to switch between Flattened and Threaded Views on the fly. Each has a use, and having to go to Options and then come back down to the thread is a very slow process. Jive is probably incapable of this, but I can dream.

Is there any way to view and download my pictures directly from finder?  [Emphasis added.]
The digitization of data has introduced a complexity to our interactions with it that we continue to struggle with.  "Picture" and "Photo" now mean different things in different contexts.  In this case (and in general) defining our terms clearly is the first step towards understanding what we are trying to do.  Understanding is the path that allows us to do it.
All pedantic, but please stick with me here  .
You record a set of instantaneous data with a camera.
That data is processed by your camera and saved to a file.
The file format is usually either RAW or JPG.
You transfer those files to your computer, and you import them into the program Aperture (often in one operation).
From each camera-file imported, Aperture creates a record in its database (called, imho unhelpfully, a Library) and an Image that you see in the Aperture Browser and Viewer.
Aperture links the Image and the imported file.
The imported file is called, within Aperture, an Original.
    Every Image has an Original.
The Image is not the Original.  The Image is what you see in Aperture.
The Original is a file that is stored on your computer.
You can make changes to an Image.
    Aperture calls these changes Adjustments.
Adjustments are saved to another file attached to the record in the database.  Let's call this file the Changes File.
Aperture uses these two files attached to the record in the database to create the Image.
Image = Original + Changes File.
The Image is not a file.
Because the Image is not a file, it cannot be shared with other programs.  It exists only inside of Aperture.
In order to share an Image with another program, you must first create a file of the Image.
You do this by exporting Images ("File ▹ Export ▹ Version" is the command in Aperture; should be, imho, "File ▹ Export ▹ Image").
You may ask, "Why all the complexity?  Why doesn't Aperture save Images as files?"  The answer is simple:  Images can require less — and in many cases very very much less — storage space than files of Images.  Rather than save a full-size file for every Image, Aperture saves only instructions on how to make that full-size file.  The gain in storage efficiency is huge.  The trade-off is that although your Images are always available to be made into share-able files, you must create those files when needed (which you do by exporting selected Images).
Here is your question reworded with more precise terms:
    SamanthaR22 might have written:
How do I access Images in my Aperture Library in the Finder?  I would like I be able to select files in the Finder when I am making photo books online without having to create them by exporting Images from Aperture into a new Finder folder. Is there any way to view and download my Images directly from the Finder?
No, there is not.  Images exist only in Aperture, and are not accessible for use in other programs.  You must create, for each Image in your Aperture Library, a new file outside of your Aperture Library in order to use it with another program.
Aperture does allow you to create and save within your Library share-able files of your Images.  These files are called Previews.  You specify the file parameters in Aperture Preferences on the Previews tab.  These files are available to other programs via the OS X Media Browser.  These files are what you get when you drag selected Images out of the Aperture program and drop them on another program or on your desktop (which is part of the Finder).

  • FCP7 HELP - Exported quicktime mov plays differently than what I edited on the timeline. The playback shows the clips with ins and outs that are different than what I set in the clips when I edited - some are too early and the clips don't playback

    Please help ASAP.
    Specs: IOS 10.6.8
    Processor 2.4GHz Intel Core i5
Memory 4GB 1333 MHz DDR3 -- Everything is edited, sourced, and stored on an 2TB external hard drive to make things go faster.
    Editing with FCP 7
When I export the sequence I edited with quicktime, the playback video is very different from what I edited on the timeline. The playback has the clips with ins and outs that are way off than what I cut, and some of the clips don't show at all or have changed transitions. However when I play in the timeline in FCP, the sequence is fine, just the way I cut it.
The source of the clips was one long .mov that I cut into clips for the timeline. Everything has gone smoothly but the exported .mov is just so different.
How can I get the time codes of the clips to be the same in the exported .movs? I just want the quicktime .mov to represent my edit exactly.
This video is due tomorrow - if the solution is too time consuming, can I play within the FCP player window and Log and Capture?
    Thanks,
    MV

What is your source material? Is it H.264? FCP does not work correctly with that material.
Click on a source clip in the FCP Browser, and once selected, type Command + 9 to see the item properties for the clip. Either report those properties, or take a screen shot of the item properties, and post that here.
Next, click anywhere in your timeline, and then type Command + 0 {zero} to see your Sequence Settings. Either report those Sequence Settings, or take a screen shot of the Sequence Settings and post that here.

  • Poor quality of PNGs exported from Illustrator, in documents that are then PDF'd

    Hi All,
This is a strange one, which has taken up a lot of time to try to solve.
I crreated a package of variants on the company logo and exported them from Illustrator as PNGs. I even tried them at 150dpi - then 600dpi.
When I put them into MS Word or Apache Open Office documents they look perfect: sharp, crisp, perfect curves. Hurrah!
However, when I export those text documents as PDFs from MS Word or Open Office, the logos look terrible and ragged.
I have all the settings correct when I export as PDF - lossless compression, print quality etc. If the logos are SVG images [vector], they are perfect PDF'd from Open Office but I can't use those in MS Office. Aggh!
After a lot of experimentation and discussion over at Apache's forums - there was no solution, until...
I pasted the logo artwork from Illustrator into Fireworks - of all things - and saved it as a 300dpi flat PNG from Fireworks. That PNG works perfectly when in a document that's exported as a PDF. I wouldn't be at all surprised if one from Photoshop would be good too.
So - I think that - the common denominator/crux of the matter is the PNG files that are created by Illustrator. They appear great inserted into documents but don't survive a subsequent PDF export well at all.
I'd love to read any comments on this?
[Also, for laughs, I tried high res/high quality TIFFs and JPEGs from Illustrator, and had the same problem]

    Hi John M,
Microsoft .WMF format. [.WTF?] is pretty good in the resultant PDF. However, when you zoom in to the PDF, the curves get a bit rounded-polygonal, in a smooth-bumpy way. Odd - not a huge issue unless people zoom in. However, it is evident if they print it. And they will.
Right. What you're seeing there is the Windows Metafile format's lack of support for bezier curves. Close inspection reveals curves that are made up of many small straight line segments.
    However...
That's why I asked about platform. Running Windows, it's possible to Copy from Illustrator and Paste Special > Enhanced Metafile in MS Office apps. With that procedure, the result is vectors that land in Office without the full WMF conversion and resulting segmentation.
To demonstrate; I made a small circle in Illustrator with a black stroke and yellow fill.
         1. I exported to WMF, then inserted in Word and exported to PDF.
         2. I copied from Illustrator and used Paste Special > Enhanced Metafile in Word, then exported to PDF
Compare the results (zoomed to a quadrant in Acrobat):

  • How to identify the files that are exported but still present in Oracle UCM

    Hello All,
I am using Oracle UCM 11g on Windows OS.
I want to know that if i have exported the contents from Oracle UCM to external file system, but keeping the contents and metadata into the Oracle UCM. How one will be able to identify that the contents that are being exported? Will there be any attribute set for any such contents indicating that these contents were exported?
Your help or hint will help me out in resolving the problem.
    Thanks in Advance

    Hi Srinath,
    Thanks for the reply.
I did not find the place where to check this?
On the content tab of the Repository Manager Applet, what is the column do i need to set for indication that the content is archived?

I updated safari to 7.0.3 and pages to 5.2 and can no longer attached files in gmail that are pages or exported to word. Any suggestions?

    I have a similar issue.
After updating Pages to 5.2, all Word export documents are 10 times the size they'd normally be.
A normal exported .DOC file that would have been under 200K, is now 1.7MB once exported.  !!! ???
This is a major issue with Pages.

None are '''''necessary''''' to use Firefox, but some parts of some web pages aren't going to work without a specific plugin being installed.

  • H.264 export without audio creates files that are not recognized in Quicktime or VLC

    Dear all,
I need to generate h.264 files with video only. (short clips for use with a "clickable" catalog on an iPad)
Used the "H.264" category and chose a preset. Unchecked "Audio" so I only get the video exported.
The resulting .m4v file is not playable in Quicktime or VLC or MPEG streamclip.
When I leave audio enabled with the same preset, the file is fine, but as soon as I export without audio, the resulting file is unreadable.
Source material is ProRes 422HQ, audio+video, about 30-40 seconds long.
    Any clues?
    Carl.
    Mac Pro 5,1
    24GB RAM
    Nvidia Quadro4000
    4TB internal RAID0
    OS 10.7.5
    Premiere 6.0.2

Thanks Jeff, I did get that far ;-)
I'm sorry, probably my question wasn't very clear. Of course I can find some technical info about the iPad...
And of course some of the presets in Media Encoder provide basic starting points for encoding.
But... there is also the first iPad, I couldn't find the specs about it on the Apple site. On everymac.com I found:
Apple reports that the iPad supports "H.264 video up to 720p, 30 frames per second, Main Profile level 3.1 with AAC-LC audio up to 160 Kbps, 48kHz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats; MPEG-4 video, up to 2.5 Mbps, 640 by 480 pixels, 30 frames per second, Simple Profile with AAC-LC audio up to 160 Kbps, 48kHz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats."
So if I want to be compatible with all iPads I need to probably stay under 720p30 with [email protected] for H.264
    When I look at
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/H.264/MPEG-4_AVC
I find (from the example values) that 1280x720@30p is quite near the maximum matrix size. So with 1024x576 I should be ok there. My bandwith of about 2Mbit is also well within range in this case. But what if I want to fill an iPod screen (1024x768) with the highest possible quality video? How do I calculate if this fits the max frame size requirements, where this is expressed in a number of luma samples and macroblocks? What is my max bandwith? The tables says that the "Max video bit rate for video coding layer (VCL) kbit/s" should be <14.000kbps. Does that directly translate to the sliders in my encoding app?
If you look in the table "AVC software implementations" (under Software encoder feature comparison) you can see that some features that are supported in MainConcept, and not supported in Qt. (8×8 vs. 4×4 transform adaptivity, Quantization scaling matrices, Separate Cb and Cr QP control, etc. What are these exactly?)
In Streamclip one can choose to have B-frames or not, in AME there is no such control. Does that mean it always encodes with B-frames? Why would one not want to have B-frames?
A lot of parameters in AME H.264 encoding seem to be set to certain fixed values that are not accessible to the user. Other programs (Sorensen, Telestream) provide the user with access to more parameters. Which parameters in AME are set to what (fixed, non-accessible) values and why?
As I said earlier, Quicktime reports different codecs for what should be the same format but from different encoders. Why? Is there a program that can analyze a H.264 stream and report about it in more detail than VLC/Quicktime?
    etc. etc. etc....
If anyone could recommend an online resouce or a book to learn more about the ins and outs of H.264 encoding/decoding that would be great. I have the first edition of Charles Poynton's (brilliant!) book "Digital Video and HDTV", which does talk about MPEG-2 but not H.264. I saw that the second edition goes a bit more into detail about H.264. Does anyone have the second edition? Worth buying just for the relatively small addition about H.264?
    Thanks.
    Carl.

  • Adobe story does not export lines of dialogue that are amrked with (CONT'D) into a csv file.

For some reason Adobe story does not export lines of dialogue that are marked with (CONT’D) into a csv file. The rest of the dialogue exports fine, bit the bits that are marked with (CONT’D) do not show up in the dialogue column !. Can this be changed with some settings or is this a bug? The script was imported from an FDX file. If anyone has a fix for this, please, let me know.
    Thenk you.

    Thanks for reporting this issue.
    This is indeed a bug.
Just to get correct data in csv, a workaround for this issue could be to replace word 'CONT'D' with a place-holder word, perform an export-to-csv and then change it back.
    1. Press Ctrl+F in script to open Find/Replace
    2. Replace word 'CONT'D' with a placeholder word, say 'TEMPCONTD'
    3. Export the script to csv
    4. Now replace the placeholder word with 'CONT'D'
