Regular expression for date extraction

Question

hi all,
please show me how can i extract date from statment the date has four forms such as
8-8-2008 or 8/8/2008 or 8-agu-2008 or 8.8.2008
the follwing query can extarct only in this form 8/8/2008.
SELECT REGEXP_SUBSTR(' the conference will be on 8/8/2008', '[0-9]{1,}/[0-9]{1,}/[0-9]{2,}') FROM dual;
