How to connet Toshiba SBZ 1520 3d sound bar to my REGZA 42XV540U tv ? Use optical cable?

I also have a sound bar that I wanted to connect to my Toshiba 42XV540U and it came with a digital optical cable to use. The digital optical cable will not stay in the digital audio out port on the back of the TV. I can put it in there (doesn't "lock" into place though) and it will stay for a minute, but fall out if moved at all. It is the correct type of digital cable to use with the TV (regular digital optical cable not mini). When I plug one end of it into the back of the sound bar, it makes a "click" and locks in. It does not do that on the back of the TV. It is almost as if the digital audio out port/connection is not made correctly on the TV. The sound bar is a Vizio S3820W-C0. The sound bar did come with regular audio cables as well, but then if I use that it defeats the purpose of having a Dolby Digital sound bar speaker. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Hi All, I Have an LG 55LA7400 and a Samsung HW-F551 Soundbar and having issues with connecting. Ive tryed the optical cable and hdmi (arc) and the TV does not pick it up. Samsung sound bar connection

Is it possible to connect a samsung sound bar and a headphones set to the back of the Samsung TV? I can only find one audio input. I called the Samsung tech service people and was told quickly that it cannot be done. So how can I have both the sound bar and the headphones connected?

No you cannot plug the Samsung soundbar and headphones into most TV's together. You don't state whether you have normal headphopnes or wireless or a model, nor do you mention the model of your TV.
The soundbar assuming the model you have uses an optical output, and we will assume you are using a headphone mini cable. When the headphones are plugged in should take priority over the soundbar.
Give me the models of the tv, soundbar, what kind of headphones, and the devices going to the tv so we can help.
Now some TV's from Samsung like the LED's have a headphone output. The matching soundbar does have a headphone input. You could plug the soundbar to the tv via that and have the headphones in at the same time. See tv out below and the splitter

Sound Bar connection

I have a 32c110u in my 5th wheel trailer (RV). It has red and white RCA plugs labeled "Audio Out." I am attempting to hook up a sound bar that uses RCA connectors. Upon plugging to the TV connections, the TV emits a clicking noise. Any clue? is this a non-standard addition to the TV? Can anything be done to salvage this?

Samsung Smarttv & Samsung sound bar connection???

I've tried connecting these several ways & still cannot get sound except thru cable. My HDMI's are connected from sound bar to HDMI ARC. When I turn tv on I have to manually change the sound bar to HDMI. When I first had my tv installed was thru the Geek Squad (everything was correct & sound bar was on D IN) I've moved & now it's all screwed up. HELP!!!!

It certainly sounds like you are dealing with a frustrating situation!
I would recommend either trying Samsung’s support page here or contacting them directly for some troubleshooting options. Otherwise, our home theater experts at your local Best Buy store may have some suggestions as well. In addition, one of our community members may stop in to offer some assistance.

MacBook Pro to Samsung sound bar Bluetooth not connecting

Hello all,
I recently purchased a Samsung sound bar with bluetooth connectivity. I can connect my iPhone 5s to it and stream music with no problem. But when I try to connect my MacBook Pro, it simply connects and promptly disconnects. I have tried shut down, restart, and even unplugging the battery on the MacBook with no luck.
I am running OSX 10.9.3 with all available updates.
Has anyone else had this problem?

Same here I'm using a Samsung HW-H550 Sound Bar - Connect's with iPhone/iPad on IOS 7.1.1 on my Mac Book Pro Retina OS X 10.9.3. Having no joy even went down the root of deleting the Bluetooth Pref file didn't work either.

Quantum TV, no sound from sound bar

I have a harmon kardon SB16 sound bar, connected via fiber to my Sony W850B TV. I just got the new 6 show dvr, connected to the tv via hdmi. My Roku and BluRay play sound just fine, but the Verizon box gives me nothing. All cables are known working. I've swapped all cables (known working to the Verizon box and vice versa) and nothing changes. The things that work still work, and the Verizon box does not.

I am having the same problem with my new Media Server DVR unit. My DR is connected to the TV with HDMI and the TV is connected to the soundbar with an Optical cable. My DVD player is also connected to the TV by HDMI.
I get sound from the soundbar from the DVD player but not from the new Media Server DVR. (FYI - My old verizon DVR box works with the soundbar using the same connections).
Verizon told me to use the same suggestion as above by holding the 'D' or 'B' key on the remote to access the DVR menu. I set the HDMI output as directed and still no sound from the Samsung soundbar.
Any other Ideas?

I would always have a wired keyboard and mouse on hand (need not be expensive ... any cheap wired devices will work). "Emergency recovery" procedures can activate features in random order, so the opportunity to select a recovery partition may pass before the wireless devices are recognized.
That will let you select the "turn on Bluetooth" icon.

How can I connect my new LG Sound Bar NB 3531A with my MacBook Pro Mid 2010 via Bluetooth

Hey,
bought a new sound bar and want to connect it to my MacBook Pro. When start pairing an error shows up telling me to check the Bluetooth range and so on. When I try to connect without a code (0000) there is a connection but it´s not possible to use the bar as a stereo headset in the bluetooth menue.
The Sound Bar should be ready to play because I can use it with my iPhone and on Win-notebooks.B
There are no system-updates availabe and I´m using OSX 10.8.4. Can someone help?

It seems that my bluetooth driver crashed or anything. Tried it with an other MacBook and worked fine. Called the Apple- and LG-Support.
The Apple-Supporter told my to reinstall my OS X. Crashed. I´ll start a complete new installation today.

Problem connecting Apple TV2 to projector when passing through Sony Sound Bar

I'm having problems getting my Apple TV2 to work now that I'm passing it through my new Sony HT-CT150 Sound Bar to my Epson Megaplex Projector MG-850 (720p) Projector. I keep getting a "Not Supported" error on my projector - as opposed to a "No Signal" error which is what happens if I was to unplug the Apple TV.
My HDMI cables are all new and latest specs. I can connect the Apple TV directly to projector with either cable and it works fine. I have a 6 ft HDMI connecting the Apple TV to one of the Sony Sound Bar's 3 HDMI inputs and then a 40 ft. HDMI running from the sound bar's HDMI out to the projector's single HDMI input. Oddly, if I reverse the cables, it seems to work. Same two cables - just switching which one is connected to the Apple TV and which is connected to the projector. (I need the length to get to where my projector is positioned. Though I might be able to get by with a 30 ft. cable if length might be the issue.)
Anyway I think it must have something to do with the HDMI handshake or the lenth of the cables but don't know enough about it and have no idea why switching which cable comes first would fix the problem.

Ok, I will ask the question in another way... My apple tv has one hdmi, and it goes to my hd projecter.. But projecter has no speakers, and as a result I've no sound at the moment. I am looking for a clear direction to go in, to solve lack the of any sound.. My only option seems to be, using the optical out from the apple tv.. I don't have any equipment with this conecter. And I've never used optical before.. If i buy an, optical to twin phono converter and then I can plug into a large powered speaker I've got in my living room. And I will have big sound easily..?? Do I have any other reasonable options for optical enabled speakers, or AirPlay speakers or something simple I'm not aware of that will give me sound easily.. I don't want a messy 5:1 system, my house is very tidy, and I want to keep it that way. . Only having this optical out is frustrating, and I need to get my head round the options I have. Anyone understand from experience how to use the optical apple tv out. Also, not using anything but apple tv, no dvds, or tv , just apple tv and my ipad.. Is very quiet in my home right now though. I do believe that the ability for your Apple TV to airplay audio to external devices was added just in the most recent update, that was released when iOS 6 was released if I'm correct, so there might not be any that specifically mention that yet.
Since it uses AirPlay I'd assume any AirPlay compatible speaker would work, but I would look into it more before spending your money, just in case.

So, I don't have my iPhone anymore, and just bought a Philips sound bar/surround sound which has a bluetooth capability. Is it possible to download a program, or use iTunes to connect to my sound bar via bluetooth to play music?

Unfortunately the Time Capsule is missing the circuitry that the AirPort Express has that processes the AirTunes stream to get it out to your amp. So, whether the Time Capsule or your iMac is hosting the iTunes Library, in order for your amp to be able to use it, you will need the Express.

Bluetooth connectivity problems: LG Sound Bar NB3530A

Any suggestions on how to improve the quality of sound. My Mac seems to connect with my sound bar, but the playback is choppy and interrupted. Sort of sounds like a scratched CD when I play music. I have updated to the latest OS yet still the problem persists. Any suggestion?
