Reindexing Home page on Internet

I made a serious booboo and had two Home Pages on my web site. I have removed the offending Home Page, but not in time for it to have been indexed by the Internet web crawlers. Now that the correct Home Page remains, I have to wait until the correct site is reindexed before I'm back up and running again. Is there any way to speed that process up? I have been told it might take 24 to 48 hours. Anyone else have experience or knowledge of this?

Hi  @mish ,
Welcome to the HP Forum,
I would love to help you with this issue, I just need a little more information.
Which home page are you refering too?
Is it the home page on the printers display? or, are you trying to reach the printers home page through the software?
Please let me know so i can proceed in the most appropriate direction, thanks.

  • Road runner home page with os9

As of yesterday I am unable to get the roadrunner home page using internet explorer for mac 5.1 with os 9.2. I can still surf the web but no road runner home page. road runner and apple were unable to help me. my computer has 10.1 on it but I would have to get drivers if they are available for all my applications and even 10.1 only uses internet explorer 5.1
What to do? Has anybody had this problem
    Joan K

    rightwingnut, welcome to Apple Discussions.
What is the URL (address) of the Roadrunner home page? Is this it: http://www.rr.com/rdrun/
I had no problem accessing it with Mozilla or IE 5.1. I switched to Mozilla for OS 9 & like it better than IE. It works on web pages that IE has problems with. Plus, Mozilla has a pop-up ad blocker & a password manager. Download Wamcom's Mozilla browser at:

  • When I open firefox, the web address ishows my chosen home page but the window shows "untitled" and I am unable to connect to any site to the internet.

I chose the New York Times site to be my home page and when I open Firefox this address appears in the web address panel. But in the tab box it says "untitled" and I don't connect to any web page. I have tried reloading firefox, nothing seems to work. How can I stop this?

A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox without informing you about that, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process.

  • Can I have more than one home page so that both would open upon connecting to the internet?

On my desktop I can have more than one home page so that they all load when I connect to the internet.
On my laptop, I cannot figure out if or how I can add a second home page. Is it possible to have more than one home page on my laptop?

Firefox can have more than one homepage. Multiple homepages are separated by the keyboard character "|".

  • Firefox opens when I connect to the internet instead of opening to my home page

Occasionally when I want to connect to the internet, my home page does not appear; I see Mozilla Firefox that fills the screen instead. I want to go to my home page, Dvorak, from which I navigate to other sites, such as Google for a search. I do not want to see anything, update notice or Firefox's search, etc., from Mozilla Firefox when I try to connect! I have tried re-setting my home page. That works for a while, but eventually Mozilla Firefox comes up instead.

  • Suddenly, email won't open on Comcast home page even though internet is connect.

I am having some sort of a problem (3 days now) with Safari. I have MAC 10.5.8 and Safari 5.0.6. I have my internet services through Comcast and use them as my home page after opening up Safari. I can connect, browse,  and open up web sites, however I cannot open up my email (which is most important to me for receiving my bills for paying online). I receive the following when I click on my email icon:
    Bad Request
Your browser sent a request that this server could not understand.
Size of a request header field exceeds server limit.
    Cookie: "Odd-tab"]&articlelist.default_tab="Top News-tab"&pagemsg.state=false; __qca=P0-956191622-1276173204867; __utma=85715083.993123
Underneath the email icon, I also sometimes receive the following message:
    PROXY ERROR
The proxy server received an invalid response from an upstream server.
The proxy server could not handle the request
    GET/PointRoll/PointRollAds.htm
I don't know anything about the above messages.
Comcast has worked with me the past two days and says it is not on their end. I just installed Firefox and I am able to access my email, so it must be some problem with Safari. I don't like to use Firefox, would like my Safari back.

Have you tried to update your Safari to 5.1.  I have OSX 10.6.8 and Safari 5.1. I don't know if you can update to 5.1 with 10.5, but if you can, you probably should.   I use Comcast and the email page is my home page and don't have any problems accessing my email on either Safari or Firefox.  The update may be what you need.

  • How to get Google on my internet home page and not at&t

when I go into the internet on my phone AT&T window comes up instead of Google. How do I get Google to be my home page?
    Any help will be appreciated.
    Thanks

When in your browser, go to 'settings'.  There should be an option to set the home page, where you can change it to whatever you want.
Out of curiosity, how did it get AT&T as a home page if you have a Verizon phone?

  • Internet home page

    Hello everyone.
I am relatively new to Java. I've been writing Java code for about a year and a half - mostly with the aid of the Sun tutorials, a couple of books I bought, and reading this forum. In a prior life I did do some dBASE programming, so a good portion of those 18 months were spent trying to un-learn the procedural approach that dBASE imposed on me and getting my head around OOP. I've also tried to read the JLS but, I must admit, found much of the text to be over my head.
Having said that, I think I've made some fairly good progress - I believe I do understand interfaces and polymorphism. At a very simple level, I can write programs in TextPad using the Collections framework and Swing. For example, I wrote a little banking program with three JTextFields allowing me to input an amount, an interest rate, and a term. There are two JButtons - "Calculate" and "Exit", and two JRadioButtons allowing me to choose whether I want a monthly payment to be calculated or a future value. It actually works and produces correct values. I've also written a program that dynamically queries an Oracle database with user input conditions.
Anyhow, I'm now looking to step it up a notch. I realize questions like this have probably been asked before but searching the forums haven't yielded anything useful. Specifically, I'd like to now try to create a very basic Internet home page and I need some advice on which direction to go. It seems there are some extra layers to that task which are over and above just knowing J2SE. Is this a question of looking to other more advanced Java technologies, and if so, which, or do I need to investigate other resources - or both? I am thoroughly confused.
    Thank you.

Just showing a static page has nothing to do with Java. You'll need to create an HTML page and upload it to a server. There are plenty of tutorials on that.
An applet is just a Java program that runs inside a restricted environment in your browser. For simple programs such as the one you wrote above, it's probably not too hard to convert from an application to an applet: put what currently happens in your main() method in the init() method of the applet. Applet tutorials should be easy enough to find, too.
To make an applet accessible from a public webpage, you'll need to upload an HTML with the appropriate code for showing an applet along with the class files or jar file containing the compiled applet code to a webhost. Your webhosting company will generally don't "do the rest", they'll just allow you to upload files. However, if you do things right, it should "just work".
Once you move to client-server programming, things will be different. At that point, you'll need an active component on the server (an application server) capable of running the server side of your web application. The interface to that application will still be HTML pages, but they will most likely be generated dynamically on the server.

Hello. I have windows xp. When using Firefox as my home page, I get awful screen interference of lines verticle and horizontal. When I switch to Internet Explorer I don't get them. I want to keep Firefox as server.

Here is something that you can try:
    # Click on Tools and then click Options.
    # Select the Advanced panel
    # Select the General tab
    # Uncheck Use hardware acceleration where available.
    # Click File and then click Exit.
    # Start Firefox normally.
Once you have followed those steps, you'll want to follow these as well and see if the lines are gone.
Click the Help menu and select Restart with Add-ons Disabled.
Let me know if this has eliminated the problem.

  • Imvu has taken firefox program If you see IMVU do not click on it. It also embeds internet explorer. Deleting it in programs link areas no help. It erases controls for establishing or restoring programs. Example, you cannot select a new home page.

    Thanks for the reply.
I tried starting IE using the =nohome =extoff options, but this did not help any.
Next I went into safe mode with networking and started IE normally and this worked fine. First I checked the version. I have IE 11. Next I disabled the MSN home page.
I restated in normal mode. I should mention that Windows 7 Pro insisted on installing even more updates.
I tried starting IE normally and the problem persisted.
I then tried starting it with the -nohome -extoff parameters and this got me in. No error.
Next I entered Alt V and the View menu appeared. I then pressed the p key and the error once again presented itself. What is the p for?
Next I opened the Internet options dialog and went to the advanced tab. I noticed that the option Use Software Rendering instead of GPU rendering was unticked (unchecked) so I checked it. I exited the dialog and reentered IE. It went in ok, displaying the
MSN and Bing thumbmails for the pages. I clicked on MSN and the page presented itself fine.
I am going to restart Window and try to enter IE again just to see if the problem has been resolved.
Edit: I restarted Windows 7 and it looks like the fix stuck. Looking good! Thanks for your orientation. Toggling the video acceleration t ON was the fix.  Again thanks and regards. Saga
I still have no idea what broke IE. Saga

    @RFNAPLES
If you leave a webpage up there without closing it from the tabs it should always return, otherwise tap the "three dots" bottom right of screen and scroll down to"pin to start" and you will then have a new tile upon homescreen.

  • When I open a new internet "tab", only a blank page comes up, not my saved "home page"

Running a Mac, had a new hard drive installed, reloaded Firefox, etc....
When I open a new tab for a new internet page, my home page does not open, I only get a blank page "untitled". I never had this issue with the other HD in the Mac. All updates are current

You must have had an extension that added that feature to Firefox with the old hard drive.

  • Firefox as well as my Home Page tab appears when I connect to Internet

How do I stop Firefox tab appearing when I connect to the Internet. I only want my Home Page.

    Hi Macca3,
Are you saying that you always see the "welcome to Firefox" message? If that's the case, you should look at [https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Firefox+has+just+updated+tab+shows+each+time+you+start+Firefox this article about that specific issue] and the article [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Preferences_not_saved Preferences not saved]. These should give you all the information you need!
    If that doesn't work:
    # Type about:config in the address bar
    # Click ''I'll be careful, I promise'' if prompted
    # In the Filter input field type ''startup''
    # Double click on startup.homepage_override_url
    # Delete the text string and click ''OK''
    # Close Firefox and reopen the window to verify that it has worked.
    Hopefully this helps!
