Reinforcing the sound card?

the sound card on my wallstreet has snapped where the power adapter plugs in as you probably guessed, and i will be putting in a new one from a donor machine along with other needed parts such as a new pram battery and more ram. i read on a page that someone had put the newer style plug on their 5300 i believe and they had reinforced it by putting silicone around it on the board. im assuming this wouldn't hurt anything but would it be worth doing? i just don't want to snap the connection again after having completely disassembled and reassembled the computer.

well im not resoldering though. ive never done it and my soldering iron is too high a wattage for electrical components. i was just gonna put in a new board. other parts had to be replaced with the same level of dissassembly so a donor makes more sense since its cheap. i wanted to make sure the new part would hold up and not have to undergo me tripping over the cord and nearly ripping the computer off the desk. • I'd love to get an imac but is there a way to upgrade the sound card?

I love the new imac's.. but I would need to upgrade the sound card if I got one. I have a recording studio and i'm using a delta 1010 pci card that is compatible with macs.. I can't see how it would work with an imac.. I'm also a graphic artist and use a mac for all my graphics but it's an old g4 that isn't exactly up to the task of running my studio as well.. I'm sick and tired of my crappy pc giving me grief in the studio and an imac seems like the perfect and affordable price for me.. (i definately need an intel mac so i can run boot camp or parrallels to run a few programs that aren't available on a mac... **** you adobe audition)
does any know if there's any way this will work or do i have to save my pennies for a g5 desktop? (i kinda hope not because it will take me a LONG time to do that)

ahhh.. that's what i thought.. just was hoping I was wrong. Getting a new interface is NOT an option because I just got the system I have and am extremly happy with it... I used to work with a firepod but wasn't all that impressed... I like the 1010 because it gives me more options (mixing analogue and whatnot)
thank you very much for the advice
don't have one yet   Mac OS X (10.4.10)

  • How can I record what the sound card is outputting?

I have an app. that I need to be able to capture what the
sound card is outputting.  That is I want to record anything that plays
from the sound card.  I don't want to
have to route the speaker out to the mic in.  Is there a way to
"capture" the sound as it is being played?
    Thanks
    Bob

As I understand you would like to record the sound (wave, midi, others...) generated by a third party application without a cable loop between soundcard output and any soundcard input (mic, line, aux).
Have you already tried to set the record input on the recording control panel of Windows to stereo mix and to use any standard labview vi (eg: snd read waveform) for recording?

  • I want to use the sound card with LabView

Hi. Who can help me, I want to use the sound card with LabView, I have found the function but I can't use it. Thanks.

    Christi,
In LabVIEW 6.1 I found some examples they use those sound VIs. They are located in \examples\sound folder. Those examples should give you a good overview how to use the VIs.
    Hope this helps

    xeckuc,
Maybe you can try to get a stereo splitter adaptor to share the audio output with your speaker.

  • Disabling the sound card in Vi

I'm trying to run integrated sound out of my motherboard to get around an issue with KOTOR II crashing when the sound card is enabled in Vista. I can disable the sound card in the device manager, but that just causes a complete lack of audio everywhere.
How do I get my motherboard to start producing sound after I've disabled the sound card?

This one provides both stereo both in and out

  • KT4 Ultra, I can install or detect the Sound Card.

    I have a KY4 Ultra, model MS-6590 (v1.X), G52-M6590X6.
I can install, or detect the sound card. In the manual I found an option to enable or disable the Audio Controller, but in my MOBO, I can´t find this option.
The Windows 98SE can detect the Multimedia Card, and I tried to install manually  with the "Drivers CD", but in the begining of the instalation, appears a message saying that there can detect the Sound Card.
    What can be that ?

What is the name of the sound card in an early 2011 MacBook Pro laptop with Mountain Lion?

The largest HDDs for MBPs are 1 and 1.5 TB in capacity.  For details I suggest that you look at the OWC website for compatible drives.

    Hello,
My midi keyboard isn't registering on Logic Pro 8 and I can't work out why. It's all plugged up correctly. The sound card outputs fine - I can hear what I've previously recorded but can't input any more. Any help gratefully received.
    Stephen.

Hi, thanks for reply. I was running Logic Express but upgraded. Now I seem to have problems. I have latest drivers for my audiophile. The operating system is 10.4.11. The keyboard just doesn't seem to register - in or out. I've spent hours on the environment, trying to decide which of the conflicting video tutorials to follow......

  • Problem with the sound card

    Hello everyone,
So here for 2-3 days, the sound of my Macbook starts beuguer (buy in October 2014). So when starting the mac when I listen to music all goes well, I can adjust the sound using the keys on my keyboard, and when I ca defois support appears to me that the sound is cut off, I think it 'is a problem with the sound card. But as soon as I plug in headphones, not set I have to go through the system preferences. By unplugging the problem remains the same on his fate, but impossible to resolve through the keyboard. I tried to put the volume icon on the top bar but even by setting it does not work here. The problem resolves itself after 30 minutes-1 hour. It's very annoying. Thank you in advance for your answers.

    Hi, Dolve
This could be either hardware or software, so let's start with trying to get all drivers and software up to date. This page has updates for all your system. I would recommend getting at least your latest audio driver and BIOS downloaded. Following the installation, try using your sound again and see if the issue still persists.
    Best,
    Adam

  • PowerBook G5 keeps loosing the sound card driver

My PowerBook G5 keeps loosing the sound card driver as the controls keep disappearing in system preferences. It seems boot related as once on ok, stays on till shut down or re-start

After multiple attempt at almost every firewire and peripheral configuration possible I think I've narrowed this down to the iSight in the 400Mb firewire port. No iSight no sound card problem. Still would like to use my iSight though, I have enough ornaments to celebrate the IT evolution
