how do i reinstall acrobat when the app manager says it's up to date

thanks. as it turns out, when i uninstalled using the uninstaller in mac utilities (rather than the one in the app folder) the download started automatically from the app manager. so i did not have to use the cleaner tool afterall. problem fixed.

  • Reinstalling program from Creative Cloud if they stop working

    I have Windows 8 on my pc.  I had previously installed the Creative Cloud app.  I had also installed Premiere Pro, Muse, and Lightroom.  Some sort of a problem happened with my system.  Perhaps I accidentally turned off the computer before the hard drive had completed all of its tasks, or something like that.
    Programs I had installed from discs seem to work.  But, all of the Windows apps that were downloaded from the cloud stopped working.  I was able to fix that by downloading them again. Windows seems to be working okay now.  Also, Lightroom downloaded from the cloud works.  Premiere Pro and Muse don't work.  I suppose the best approach is to reinstall them, but I don't seem to be able to do that with the Creative Cloud app.  Do I need to first uninstall them through the Windows Control Panel?  I'm a little concerned about doing that because there isn't a way to deactivate them, since I can't get into the programs.  what do you suggest?

    Thanks for your post. Please uninstall the application from control panel/Programs and features and then re-install them. Also, if you see in the creative clous app that Premiere pro is already installed then try to log out and login again to Creative clous application. Please update if you have any further issues or query.

    I don't think I uninstalled it properly. I just moved it to the trash and cleared the trash (OS). I did this because I wanted to download 'Fireworks CC', but then I realized there is no such thing and now want my Fireworks CS6 back.

    If you don't have the discs, check your account with Adobe and see if the files are available to you thru a download link.  If neither of those two options help, then you can download the trial version thru the page linked below.  Be sure to follow the Very Important Instructions or else the download will not work:

    I have had a total meltdown on my hard drive losing all the program files, data and such. There is no recovering them. I am on an old XP SP3 machine that had CS6 Suite installed. Is there anyway of reinstalling CS6 from Creative Cloud? CC2014 won't run on XP. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

    CS 6 is not offered through the Creative Cloud desktop app. You can download any or all of the CS6 applications from the Adobe download site. Then install them using your serial number.
    But I think if you have the full suite you need a special download that includes all of the programs. As far as I know the full suite comes with only one license serial number and doesn't work with individual installs of the programs. That is just an assumption as I have never used the full suite of programs.

  • Trouble with Adobe Acrobat Pro installation from Creative Cloud

    When I attempt to install Adobe Acrobat Pro from Creative Cloud, it will always fail on the first attemp. If I retry, it installs it. Then, when I open a pdf document, the application quits in seconds. I get a modal window with the license agreement. However, it is blank and the pull downs are empty. I hit a dead end.
    This is so aggravating; especially when Adobe is charging me for my membership every month.
    What gives? Can someone help with this?

    Brian which operating system are you using?  Do you receive any specific errors during the installation process?  If you are using a Windows operating system then please uninstall Acrobat using the Programs and Features control panel.  Once done then please try using the Acrobat Cleaner Tool available at http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/acrobatcleaner.html.
    Also you mentioned that the EULA window is blank you may also want to see Blank EULA screen appears on Acrobat XI launch - http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/blank-eula-screen-appears-acrobat.html.  Solution 2 is not likely to be relevant unless you are using an operating system not currently supported by the Creative Cloud Desktop application.

    the cc desktop app is used to install and update cc programs (and a few other thinigs).  but that does not include 'opening' the installed programs.
    click your start button or your program files directory to find the acrobat executable to launch acrobat (and any of your other apps, adobe or otherwise).

    photoshop says that i have missing components aand need to reintall.  There is no install file under apps.  So I uninstalled and creative cloud does not recognise that so it will not let me install.

    I experienced similar issues. Ran CC Cleaner after uninstall and still had to reinstall twice in order to get all the required files installed without corruption. I also think my perpetual license PS CS6 installation was confused by a previous PS CS6 CC installation from before PS CC was installed.

    I bought a CS6 boxed suite, and I've just unsubscribed from Creative Cloud.
    Do I need to uninstall all the applications and then reinstall from the copy I got with the boxed suite?  Or is there a way I can just use the suite license to activate the software I already have installed?

    Try activating the product by punching in the serial number (perpetual) at the time of launch. It should get activated ideally.
