Is there a way to reinstall apex without loosing the applications that I created?
I have some apex packages that cannot be compiled

Jules,
As the site administrator, export the workspaces to files. Then login to each workspace as an admin and export each of the applications to files. (You should already have these backups anyway). If you have static files, images, css, user interface defaults, or themes that you've uploaded into any workspace you'll need to export those as well.
After you re-install, reverse the process, starting with installing the workspaces, then install the applications and other components into each worskspace.
But why do you have to do this? What won't compile?

So I have endnote, office installed on my macbook. And it is out of space (6 GB left out of 120 GB). And I can not locate where the space is eaten up. I want to reinstall the OSX without loosing the data and get the space back. Is there any way of doing this? Thank you.

It IS possible by doing an Archive and Install http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1710
BUT be aware that archive and install takes up the most space of any installation of OS X because it saves room for a previous system folder. The 6GB you have free is probably not even big enough to do archive and install. Neil is right find out what's taking up that space and then get rid of or move some files off to external storage.

It works great but I lost all of my music in itunes but I still have all of my music on my iPod. When I try to sync new music I have to my ipod itunes tells me it will erase all existing content on my ipod and replace it with the new content. My question is: How can I add my new music without loosing my old music?

General Question about what the work that you created.

If I took an image online, let's say of a cat. Then I used Live Trace and then went to Object - Expand and changed the color; would that qualify as it being my design? And what I mean is would that qualify as something you could sell and call your design. (Like if you sold it as a logo.)
I can easily use the Pen tool to trace any image, but I find that this option saves a pretty impressive amount of time.

No. A logo, by definition, is a piece of artwork for which the owner can claim copyright. Never use a piece of stock photography as the basis for something that you try to pass off as a client's logo.
Imagine the trouble you'd find yourself in after you charged a client for a "logo", he tried to register it, and found out that it is not original at all, but just a cheezy knock-off of some royalty-free stock photography that anyone else in the world can also copy and thereby claim as much "rights" to as you.

You should be able to recover the media with the tips in this post from forum regular Zevoneer but I'm not sure what the implications are for your application settings. You can probably transfer your purchases into a newly authorised library, backup the device, recover any other media using third party tools, then restore the device from the backup. That should switch the assocation of the device to the new library but it is not something I've personally tested.
When you get it all working, make a backup!

The ipod is not a backup device. The music sync is one way - computer to ipod. The ony exception is itunes purchases.
Copy everything from your old computer, or your backup copy of your old computer to your new one.

Ok, being an update freak as well installed Lion and regretted it as ****!!! Now down to the thing.. My problem is not that much of data but applications. Since all of my work/projects are stored in ext HDs, i was wondering if theres a way somehow to downgrade or erase (?) to Leopard (of course) without loosing my applications.. Is it possible to copy the app folder somewhere, erase Lion , install Leo and paste app folder when system is installed? Will still work?

One of two ways:
1. Restore the backup you made before installing Lion.
2. Export your application data to formats supported by Leopard. You'll need to tell us which data you have in which versions of which applications. Clone your system twice. Erase and install Leopard with nothing but Apple keyboard/mouse and display connected, and selectively restore data that is compatible into the applications you need.
An alternative, find a Lion compatible application to your data that you used in Leopard:

Closing all JFrames without killing the application

Is there a way I can close all JFrames without quiting the application? I have several JFrames open that I want to dispose of at the same time. Is this possible?

If you close all the JFrames, then how does the user
interact with the application?I think that's outside the scope of the original question, but there are a number of possibilities. To name just a few:
1) The console
2) The program opens a new JFrame after some time has elapsed (maybe an appointment reminder application, or an instant messenger client, for example)
3) The program is really a server, so you don't need to see anything
4) The program is "spyware" so it's meant to be hidden
5) The program runs in full-screen mode part of the time (for example, a game which uses JFrames to choose options, then full-screen for game play)

I can't put my windows xp to standby without loosing the connection...

So I can't put the windows xp machine in standby mode without loosing the internet connection. According to my LAC icon I still have a connection and if I "repair" it, it says it can but still no joy. It will work just fine after I restart the comp but that kind of destroys the whole idea of standby mode (having a saved session and all). This never happened before I installed the airport.

So, I think I've solved all my issues with the airport and my xp machine.
I did some other research and found that there might have been a issue with my zone alarm firewall and the airport. I turned it off and everything has been working good all day. I turned it on and I was back to my comp not recognizing the airport and no connectivity when I went to sleep mode and came back.
If you're running zone alarm and are having these kinds of issues.
Try and turn off ZA, if that solves the issue, turn ZA back on and go to:
Zone Alarm > Firewall (on the left side) > Zones tab (top right)> ADD (bottom right) > Host Site (top of popup menu).
When the dialog comes up, make sure the "zone" is "trusted, type in the name of your aiport (ie; house, my airport, what ever you named it when you set it up, if unsure, start the aiport from the start menu and see what it says), under "description I just put "airport router".
Then the "lookup" button comes into focus and you press it. It will find the ip address press "ok" and that is it!
BTW- My XP firewall is off.
So far so good for me. Maybe this weekend I'll see if I can get the external HD to work....(crosses fingers and knocks on wood).

I know the importance of saving and updating your contacts. What type of phone do you have? If you are using Backup Assistant, you have the ability to sync the contacts between your laptop and phone. You will also be able to see if all your contacts are stored on the online portion of the application versus the phone itself. The contacts should be the same for both online and the phone.

What is the problem and how can I solve it?

Some websites require a special client certficate for access. If you don't have that certficate, you'll have to contact the site operator to find out how to get one.
Sometimes the problem is caused by a web server that is configured to request an optional client certificate. Safari treats the request as mandatory. In that case, other browsers such as Firefox and Chrome may be able to connect to the site, because they ignore the request.
The first time you were prompted for a certificate, you may have clicked through a dialog that requested access to the Apple certificate in your keychain that is used to secure the iMessage service. In that case, you may be able to regain access to the site in Safari by doing as follows.
Back up all data.
Double-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:

Copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C.
Launch the Keychain Access application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)

☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Keychain Access in the icon grid.

Delete the item by selecting it and pressing the delete key. It will be recreated automatically the next time you launch the Messages or FaceTime application.
The next time you visit a site that prompts for an optional client certificate, cancel out of the prompt. You may have to do this several times before the server stops asking.
