Reinstall CS 5.5 on Mac without CD drive

I bought a new MacBook but it doesn't have a CD drive.. how can I reinstall my Creative Suite 5.5 Design Standard Student & Teacher Edition there?
Is there a download link for it - I can only find buy links.. And can I use the product code that is on the back of my CS cds??

Actually I have been trying to reinstall my CS5.5 Design premium suite from the same page you have a link to and the first time I dloaded it the message I get is That I "do not have permissions to access the requested resource" message. The second time it said that it could not write the file. If I dbl-click on it it tells me it is still downloading which it isn't. I did register my software, I am fully aware how to get my serial number. I spent 3+ hours yesterday on the phone with adobe support which was atrocious and absolutely no help at all. do have any other suggestions how I can regain my property from Adobe?

  • Reinstall OS X 10.5/6 Without CD Drive

So my early (non unibodby) MBP is suffering. The CD drive does not work (Hardware) and the OS is slow (Software(. I have both OS 10.5 and 10.6 CDs with me but for obvious reasons i cant use those directly. Can i use it on another computers (i have a win XP laptop) and some how do something?
Im waiting for the new MBP refresh or MBA refresh before i buy a shiney new Mac.. but till then

You would need another Mac in order to do it.
Then you could follow the instructions for Installing Tiger without a DVD drive.
It should work the same for Mac OS X 10.5 or 10.6. (They are DVDs, not CDs.)
    Good luck.

  • Recycled my old Mac without deactivating. How to reinstall Photoshop Elements?

Can someone help me reinstall Photoshop Elements after recycling my old Mac without deactivating?

The problem was probably caused by migrating pse 8 as adobe applications can never be migrated, they need to be reinstalled from the original disk or download or they won't work right.
If you look in Applications/Adobe Photoshop Elements 8 is there an uninstaller for pse 8?
If so, try using it and then reinstall pse 8 from your original disk.
If that doesn't work, then you can try this, but you might end up having to run the adobe creative cloud cleaner and then manually delete all the adobe stuff on your computer and starting over with a fresh install of pse 8.

  • How many times can I reinstall Leopard on a same mac?

Hi, I have the Leopard Family Edition and we had to reinstall in two computers, and I want to know if the licenses are not affected by this. And where are they, by the way?
    Thanks

    Welcome to Apple Discussions!
A family edition gives you license to install on up to 5 Macs that version of Leopard.
An operating system may be reinstalled on any one Mac without losing any licenses. There is no registration code to worry about. You can skip the registration screen. It is an on-your-honor registration system. Since we can only post about legal items, I recommend you stick to the honorable thing and only install on 5 individual Macs. And erase or archive and install on those 5 Macs as many times as it is necessary to isolate any problems you run into.

  • I had iPhoto as part of iLife 11. I recently did an erase and install on my Macbook Air and without a CD drive I'm unable to reinstall. How can I install without having to repurchase all of the apps?

Do you have access to another Mac with a disk drive?  If so you can do it in one of two ways:
1 - on the Mac with the optical drive launch Disk Utility and make a disk image of the iLife 11 disk. Connect the two Macs together and transfer the disk image to your MacBook Air.  Mount the disk image and install from it.  I have my iLife disks saved that way for quick and easy reinstall when necessary.
2 - connect the two Mac together so you can access the MBA from the Mac with the disk drive. Insert the iLife disk, and install from the second Mac to the MBA.

  • Are there viruses out there than can infect your Mac without you knowing anything. The virus is so stealth that it doesn't give any symptoms.

I have reason to believe my job is syping on me and i would like to know if there are viruses out there that can infect your Mac without you knowing anything. I believe there is one called "Finfisher".

FinFisher is an extremely high-priced spyware tool marketed to governments and law enforcement agencies. It's very unlikely that your employer would be able to obtain a copy.
Further, at this time, there is no known malware capable of infecting an up-to-date Mac running Mac OS X 10.6.8 or newer. Of course, physical access changes the rules. If your employer has had unsupervised physical access to your machine, they could have done anything.
If they have had that access, and you truly believe that they have done that, there's only one way to clean your Mac up: erase everything and start over from scratch. See:

  • How to backup Mac without login???

My iMac has a very weird problem, it usually booting with a long gray bar and take very long time, and even sometime it suddenly shuts down while booting. And now it shuts down every time i turn it on. I did try Lion Recovery to repair Macintosh HD, but it can't repair, there is an alert that tell me I have to reinstall Mac OS, but before that, I have to format Macintosh HD, and it will erase all of my data. And OMG, I forgot to backup my iMac, what can I do, please help me?!!!

OMG, finally i found all of my pictures when i copy iPhoto Library to Bootcamp Desktop and did a search, all stuff appeared. The reason i can' find pictures my self is Bootcamp doesn't support searching in HFS+ of Macintosh HD, but if i do it manually, i never can find my pics because iPhoto organizes photos with too much folders, each pics stored in a separate folder. Btw, i still want to know is there any way to backup Mac without login Mac OS? If yes, i will do backup all my applications because it is very crazy for me to reinatall all applications again!??

  • No smoking sign on mac without cigarette :: what happened?

Thank you in advance for helping me!
I have a G4 AGP Pro Mac. Mac used only for graphic design purposes. My mac qualifies for latest Tiger installation.
Ran diagnostics and latest updates, all healthy/current!
OS 9.2.2 installed on mac on 210 Gig HD partitioned into two segments. One is 20 Gig the other is the remainder of gigs. The 20 gig partition has the OS 9 system software on it.
Ok, installed Tiger onto 20 gig drive.
    Successful install and it restarted.
    Then you see grey screen.
    Apple icon, turning wheel.
Then after a long period of time you have a circle with a slash appear on the screen. Kinda looks like a no smoking sign on mac without cigarette.
    Now what?
    I have tried the following:
    1. Boot from Tiger DVD. Utilities-->check drives. All ok.
    2. Boot from Tiger DVD. Utilities-->fix
    3. Boot from Tiger DVD. Utilities-->Chose OS X as startup
    3. Zap Pram 3 times in a row and then Zap COOD.
    4. Reinstall Tiger without anything attached to mac.
    ie externals, dsl, printers, etc.
    Now what??? Completely frustrating!
I am saving up for a new mac and do not have the option to purchase a new one yet. HD's are all new and are in perfect working condition.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated! THANK YOU!

Everything is current on OS 9.2.2. However I downloaded per your request to verify and tried to install. Correct, firmware current.

    1. Reset PRAM and VRAM twice
    2. Restarted in OS 9; then restarted holding X key
    3. I got excited for it allowed me to setup TIGER/___sbsstatic___/migration-images/migration-img-not-avail.png YAHOO/___sbsstatic___/migration-images/migration-img-not-avail.png
    4. But later it hung after registration, a blank blue screen.
    5. Restart again. Got "prohibitory sign" again
    6. Restart holding "C" key with TIGER dvd
    7. Repair permissions again
    8. selected OS X startup; reset PRAM/VRAM it hung forever/___sbsstatic___/migration-images/migration-img-not-avail.png
    9. Restarted, held "C" key with TIGER dvd in drive
    10. selected OS 9 as startup; reset PRAM 3 X's
Will try this and any other options you suggest. I really don't want to erase this drive just yet. Will try this suggestion:
    a. start up from OS 9
    b. drag fonts folder to desktop
    c. restart Mac in TIGER
Will keep you posted. Tried that whole article with no luck. However you are fantastic for finding it for me. One step closer to solution in my opinion

  • How can i reboot my mac without lion cd previous owner installed it thru itunes?

how can i reboot my mac without lion cd previous owner installed it thru itunes?

Lion is usually installed through the App Store not through iTunes. There is no Lion CD. If you need to perform activities normally requiring an installer DVD, then you do it as follows:
    Boot to the Recovery HD:
Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
This will boot the Recovery HD and present a main menu of options such as Reinstall Lion, Restore a Time Machine backup, and run Disk Utility to repair the hard drive. There are additional options in the Utilities menubar item.

I am being asked to upgrade to iCloud Drive but indications are that I will not be able to access up to date details on any of my documents on my Mac without going into iCloud first.  Have I got this interpretation right or can I save changes to access the new versions on my iMac?

    That is Apple's statement:
Using iWork with iCloud Drive - Apple Support
    Options for iWork customers
You can upgrade to iCloud Drive today if you want to keep your documents up to date in iOS 8 and OS X Yosemite, and you want to use the iWork web apps on iCloud.com and the Share via iCloud feature.
You can upgrade to iCloud Drive later if you want to keep your documents up to date with your apps on iOS 7 or earlier and OS X Mavericks or earlier.
    Upgrade to iCloud Drive today
To access the most recent versions of your documents from a Mac with OS X Mavericks or earlier, you’ll need to go to iCloud.com and access Pages, Numbers, and Keynote from there. On a PC, you can install iCloud for Windows and set up iCloud Drive.
If you upgrade to iCloud Drive now:
Your documents will keep up to date across devices with iOS 8, Macs with OS X Yosemite, PCs with iCloud for Windows, and iCloud.com.
Your documents will no longer keep up to date on devices with iOS 7 and Macs with OS X Mavericks or earlier.
You’ll be able to use the iWork web apps on iCloud.com.
You’ll be able to use the Share via iCloud feature with iOS 8, OS X Yosemite, and iCloud.com.
Documents you previously shared via iCloud will be accessible to collaborators.
    Upgrade to iCloud Drive later
Note that until you upgrade your iCloud account to iCloud Drive, you won’t be able to use the iWork web apps on iCloud.com or the Share via iCloud feature.     If you don’t upgrade to iCloud Drive at this time:
Your documents will keep up to date across devices with iOS 8 and across devices with iOS 7 and Macs with OS X Mavericks or earlier.
You won’t be able to use the iWork web apps on iCloud.com.
You won’t be able to use the Share via iCloud feature.
Documents you previously shared via iCloud won’t be accessible to collaborators until you upgrade to iCloud Drive.

Can someone please provide instructions on how to import an iPhoto library from an old Mac to a new Mac without getting a bunch of duplicates?  I tried transferring my pictures using an external hard drive and then copying it to the Pictures folder on my new Mac.  I ended up getting a bunch of duplicates. My old Mac has an older version of iPhoto while the new Mac has iPhoto '11.  Is that the cause of the problem?  Please advise.  Thanks.

Simply copy the iPhoto Library from the Pictures Folder on the old Machine to the Pictures Folder on the new Machine.
    Then launch iPhoto. That's it.
This moves photos, events, albums, books, keywords, slideshows and everything else.
