Hard drive crashed and mirrored the old one to a new computer and can't run my older Photoshop CS2 anymore and customer support can't help anymore.
How do I use this software anymore?

I clicked on "English" and a list of CS2 products came up. I was able to start download.

When will CS2 Activation Server be available

Given a reactivation fix by user help yesterday but it seems the server has been unavailable since Dec 13 - that's a cheap trick...

There is a workaround that the Adobe Helpdesk can provide, which included uninstall en reinstall. It exists for English, French,...versions of CS2 but not for the Duch and several other languages. I do hope Adobe will take care of that and put some links...I wasted quite some time on trying to re-activate + talking + chatting to the helpdesk to people who don't even see that the error is on the Adobe Website. They see all the links (on the English page with software) I don't see them on the Dutch page (but I do on the English, so nothin is wrong with my browser,....)

Freeing memory for Internal Frames when they are closed

Does anyone have any advice for a way to completely free all references to InternalFrames and their contents when they are closed? It appears that many references to the frame are held deep within Swing. Our application hold references to large memory structures in the InternalFrame, which means that we have a large memory leak whenever a frame is closed.

try to remove all listeners added to components which are part of the JIF before you dispose of the JIF.

Photoshop CS2 hogs RAM even when all the documents are closed.

Like the title says. I was able to re-create the issue in this video: (nevermind, I guess I can't post links)
Long story short; after having documents open, I have to close Photoshop and re-open it to get my RAM back.
Why does this happen?

The answer is given above; that is just how it works. It shouldn't really affect your system performance much if you have enough virtual memory configured, and if you've not overdone it on the amount of RAM you allow Photoshop to use.
I just close Photoshop when I'm done using it.

Old school with CS2. Haven't used in a while and am unable to use the program as it says my serial number is invalid. Customer service tells me the server for CS2 has been shut down. Then they sent me here for help. Does anyone have any advice?

CS2 is very old and reached its "end of life" a while back. So probably won't run on modern operating systems. If you can still run it, you'll need to uninstall what you have and re-install with the download link below to activate it.

Activation server shut down for Creative Suite 2, Acrobat 7, and Macromedia products

Effective December 13, Adobe disabled the activation server for CS2 products and Acrobat 7 because of a technical glitch. These products were released over 7 years ago and do not run on many modern operating systems. But to ensure that any customers activating those old versions can continue to use their software, we issued a serial number directly to those customers. While this might be interpreted as Adobe giving away software for free, we did it to help our customers.
If your software is affected by the activation server shut down then you will receive an error that the Activation server is unavailable. The specific affected products are as follows:

EN version is not so eaqual in all with CZ version, I have PREMIUM one, not Standard.
So I download these EN versions and Acrobat 7Pro separately.
It look that it works, I have it installed on my presentation laptop. I ussualy work on PC and laptop is for bussines trips mostly.
When I was working on my PC I found in menu one interesting option. I have installed CS2 in 2010 so it works OK, still in CZ. What I found in menu is called "Licence Transfer".
I didnt try it because I dont want to loose my activation on PC, but could you please say to me what does this option means?
Is it possible to copy licence on flash disk and use it on laptop, but it still be in PC also? Or it is only for deactivation, so you will loose it, and after this you can do new activation (which is impossible by server shut down)?
And one question to the end, if I buy some later version like CS4 or CS5 (from some graphic studio which have one licence to sell-transfer) so do Adobe plan to shut down server too, for CS4, CS5 or after this non user/customer friendly solution (I mean for CS2) will Adobe do some application which we can install on our local PC and this app will say to CSxx "Your licence is OK, just continue in work" ?? --- this would be much better, I think if Adobe do this so it will be the same like no-activation versions in EN only but without so many complains and impacts on your customers.

Aobe Standard Activation Server Unavailable Question

I currently have Adobe Acrobat 9 Standard installed on my computer; it has been running on this compter for about 5 years. Today, I encountered the following error message: "You cannot use the product at this time. You must repair the product by uninstalling and then reinstalling this product or contacting ... Adobe Customer Support for help." Because I do not have the original disks (product was installed via the web) I contacted customer support, but were told that they did not support this product. Instead, they directed me to the Adobe Forums for help. On Adobe Forums, I selecte help with "Error: Activation Server Unavailable" Topic, but found the following message. "Adobe has disabled the activation server for CS2 applications, including Acrobat 7 and Audition 3, because of a technical issue". It then told be to uninstall my product and reinstall it It states, "If you have CS2, CS2 applications, Acrobat 7, or Audition 3 installed on your computer, uninstall them." To install, it states, "You can use the serial numbers provided as a part of the download only if you legitimately purchased CS2, CS2 applications, Acrobat 7, or Adition 3".
What I need to know is whether the fix for Acrobat 7 will work for Acrobat 9? If not, where do I find the fix for Adobe Acrobat 9 Standard, can the fix be done without an installation disk, and where can I go to obtain my original product serial number?

otherwise, you may be able to repair your acrobat std 9 by reinstalling:

and activate with your serial number.
if you have a download problem, you didn't follow all 7 steps. typically, failure to meticulously follow steps 1,2 and/or 3 is the problem, but your browser must also allow cookies so that's (a restrictive browser setting) another potential source of problems.

it seems that adobe wants people to by there over priced products at every upgrade. because i was unable to deactivate my pscs2 be for doing a system restore ia'm now unable to reactivate the program. i successfuly transfered the software from a win xp computer to a win 7 computer and had it work great for six years, adobe tech support claims if will only work on win xp & vista. anyone out there now of a solution?

You have to download a special version of CS2 that does not require activation but needs the new serial number they also provide.

Activation Server unavailable?

I'm getting an error message upon activation. "Activation Server Unavailable". Anyone else have this issue currently? Called customer service and was told to try again in a few hours. It will be a full 24 hours that it's been down in just a few more hours. Nothing changed on my system, all other internet access is ok and none of the components of Creative suite will activate, not just InDesign (which is what I really need right now!)

What is the version of the InDesign you are on and on what OS ?

Connection Error: Digital editions could no connect to the activation server.

My question has to do with adobe digital editions. When I try to authorize my computer, it says "Connection Error: Digital editions could no connect to the activation server. Please make sure you are connected to the Internet." I´m sure that there is a connection to the internet .I have tried reinstalling ADE 2.01, Thanks for your help!

Server for BPM Sizing

We have to find some information about the sizing of a server to use BPM on it. The standard SAP's tool QuickSizing doesn't have BPM to sizing, unfortunately.
Does somebody have some experience in sizing server for BPM?
Our requirement are the following:
- about ~7000 process instances in an year
- ~1000 processors, it could be ~300 processors in a one day
- one type of the process have 3 processors, the other ~1000 (dynamic assignment)

6) What is the peak concurrent user load? (see glossary for a definition of concurrent user)
7) What is the average concurrent user load?
In our case there is a 70 SAPS for very concurrent user. A concurrent user is one who is active within a 30 second time period.
The value of SAPS is dependent on answers in 2).

Digital Editions could not connect to the activation server.

I am unable to download books from my local library using Adobe Digital Editions. My library told me to unauthorize which was also supported by the on-line help discussions on the Adobe website. I did that and now when trying to re-authorize continue to receive this message "Digital Editions could not connect to the activation server. Please make sure you are connected to the internet'". I am connected so that is not the issue. I had great difficulty finding a phone number to call for help and when finally successful, I was in the process of being transferred and the call was dropped.
Please HELP!

Two possibilities.
One is that the connection is being blocked by your firewall. Try turning the firewall off (temporarily) and trying to register again.
Another is a bug in ADE2. Quite common: but I don't think it is the issue for you. May be worth trying 1.7.2 just in case ...
There are lots of bugs in ADE2.0 (and 2.0.1). Try replacing ADE2.0 with the older but more reliable v1.7.2.
(You can have them both installed at once if you like.)
Version 1.7.2, it is a little difficult to find, available on Adobe site for Windows and for Mac.
