Reinstall CS4 on new computer

I have Education version of Adobe CS4 and have installed on my desktop and laptop.  My desktop hard drive has corrupted and has to be replaced and I have to reinstall all software.  Can I reinstall Adobe CS4 on new computer or do I need to request deactivation of one of my 2 permitted installations somehow first?

You had the software on two machine on your desktop and laptop , hence you used your 2 activations , then your desktop hard drive got corrupted and is replaced , hence you never got the oppurtunity to de-activate hence you can install the software but will not be able to use on the desktop , however everything will work fine on your laptop.
Contact Adobe , get the activation count resetted and then you will be good to go.

Where can I diwnload Adobe Pro to reinstall on a new computer?

if you follow all 7 steps you can dl a trial here: http://prodesigntools.com/all-adobe-cs5-direct-download-links.html
    and activate with your serial.
if you have a problem dl'g, you didn't follow all 7 steps.  the most common error involves failing to meticulously follow steps 1,2 and/or 3 (which adds a cookie to your system enabling you to download the correct version from adobe.com).

Sounds like you installed iWork from before there was the Mac App Store.
If you installed it from a Family DVD you are entitled to install that on 5 computers and can do that from the DVD.
If not then you need to purchase it from the M.A.S. and will be able to install it on any of your computers using the same Apple I.D. However Apple is promising a new version before Christmas so it may not be a good time to buy now.

  • Reinstalling CS4 on new mac

Hi, I am having several problems reinstalling CS4 Design premium on my new mac with Mountain Lion. Time machine backup reinstall didnt work I kept getting licensing no longer works 150:30 error. So I contacted Adobe and they told me I had to reinstall from the original disks which I tried to do. However, I keep getting a Adobe Air error where it prompts me to download the new version and then the installation hangs and it tells me this version is not compatible with CS4 and I have to contact the vendor to get an older version.
I went back to Adobe and they sent me Air2.7 which has now helped - although I still get the error it comepletes some installation. I now have dreamweaver and acrobat pro working. However, I would really like to get flash and fireworks working. However, when I try and install on the setup menu I cannot scroll down the setup menu and cannot view any of the lower options in the menu. It just won't let me view them cannot tab or arrow down and no scroll bar - Any ideas ?
I have also tried uninstalling everyything and doing a full reinstall - running clean up tool in between but then I have the air problem again ! It seems if I have air installed already I go to a different setup menu screen where I have to choose which options I want to install and am unable to choose anything lower down the menu and there is no choose all option.
Any ideas how to get CS4 installed on a Mac with mountain lion successfully ? Any ideas how to view the whole of the setup menu - no option to pull the box bigger on maximise it as far as I can see.
    Thanks
    F

Franniehhk the behavior you are currently experiencing is fully expected when trying to restore from a Time Machine backup.  To attempt to recover from this action you can try running the uninstallers located in Applications/Utilities/Adobe Installers followed by using the CS Cleaner tool.  From your original post it appears you have already done this however.
This leaves one last option.  Format, reinstall your OS, and then restore only your documents and settings from the Time Machine back up.  You should then be able to install the software successfully from your installation files.
Adobe Creative applications are not designed to be copied from one computer to another which is basically what the Time Machine restore is doing.  This is why the applications are not behaving properly on your new Macintosh.

  • Error: 6 after reinstalling CS4 on new Macbook (Mavericks) from back up drive (no CD-rom drive).

My old Mac died. I purchased a new Macbook Pro with Mavericks. I had purchased CS4 installation discs, but cannot use them to reinstall the software since the new computer does not have a CD-rom drive. I tried to reinstall the Adobe software from my back up drive. When I try to open the software, I receive an error message: "Error: 6." The steps listed on other postings for correcting this problem do not work, and I obviousuly cannot reinstall the software without a disc drive. Is there a way to reactive the license?
Things I've learned while trying to remedy this problem:
-- There is no FlexNet Publisher file to delete -- it doesn't exist in my file system.
-- License Recover App won't open (isn't supported by my system)
-- Changed all permissions to "Read and Write" -- still get Error: 6
    Now what?

  • Upgrade to CS4 on New Computer

I have a current version of CS3 and want to upgrade to CS4, but on a new computer.  I do not believe CS3 can be installed again on my new computer (Win7, 64 bit).  What are my alternatives?

I have gotten into the habit of jotting down the serial numbers of the prior verisons on the inside cover of the most recent release.
That way if I get stuck without the older version and no web access during a re-install I can quickly enter the upgrade path information. (This only needed to happen to me once before I figure it out)

  • Reinstalling iTunes to new computer; Concerned for current songs on iPod

Alright, so my last computer just died November 29th un-expectantly. (It suddenly shut down while in the middle of a conversation with a friend and wouldn't turn back on since). At first I hopped that it was possible overheating because of that week, it had been on from morning to night none stop.
Yet, it soon showed that it was completely fried.
I hadn't backed up any of my music and so everything that wasn't lost on the computer is still on my ipod. Today, my grandmother gave us one of her good computers and I am prepared to reinstall itunes to it and start over.
But I am concerned on what will happen to the 700+ songs still on my ipod when I sync it. Will I lose them when I sync my ipod and if so, is there a way to save them??

1). Connect your iPod to your new computer. If it is set to update automatically you'll get a message that it is linked to a different library and asking if you want to link to this one and replace all your songs etc, press "Cancel". Pressing "Erase and Sync" will irretrievably remove all the songs from your iPod.
2). When your iPod appears in the iTunes source list change the update setting to manual, that will let you use your iPod without the risk of accidentally erasing it. Check the "manually manage music and videos" box in Summary then press the Apply button. Also when using most of the utilities listed below your iPod needs to be enabled for disc use, changing to manual update will do this by default: Managing content manually on iPod and iPhone
3). Once you are safely connected there are a few things you can do to restore your iTunes from the iPod. If you only want to copy your purchases to the computer that can be done using iTunes, you'll find details in this article: Copying iTunes Store purchases from your iPod or iPhone to a computer
For everything else (including purchases) there are a number of third party utilities that you can use to retrieve the music files and playlists from your iPod. You'll find that they have varying degrees of functionality and some will transfer movies, videos, photos, podcasts and games as well. You can read reviews and comparisons of some of them here:
Wired News - Rescue Your Stranded Tunes
    Comparison of iPod managers
A selection of iPod to iTunes utilities:
TuneJack Windows Only (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)
SharePod Windows Only (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)
    iPod2PC Windows Only
    iDump Windows Only
    YamiPod Mac and Windows
iPod Music Liberator Mac & Windows
    Floola Mac & Windows
iPodRip Mac & Windows (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)
iPod Music Liberator Mac & Windows (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)
Music Rescue Mac & Windows (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)
iGadget Mac & Windows (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)
iRepo Mac & Windows (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)
iPod Access Mac & Windows (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)
TouchCopy Mac & Windows (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)
There's also a manual method of copying songs from your iPod to a Mac or PC. The procedure is a bit involved and won't recover playlists but if you're interested it's available on page 2 at this link: Copying Content from your iPod to your Computer - The Definitive Guide
4). Whichever of these retrieval methods you choose, keep your iPod in manual mode until you have reloaded your iTunes and you are happy with your playlists etc then it will be safe to return it auto-sync.
5). I would also advise that you get yourself an external hard drive and back your stuff up, relying on an iPod as your sole backup is not a good idea and external drives are comparatively inexpensive these days, you can get loads of storage for a reasonable outlay: Back up your iTunes library by copying to an external hard drive
