Reinstall Data Warehouse to remove test data

We are wanting to go live with SCSM soon, hopefully in a couple of weeks.
Unfortunately, we don't have the infrastructure in which I was able to setup a test and production environment. I've managed to remove the test data out of the ServiceManager database via the SMLets, but we are wanting to remove the test data out of the
data warehouse as well. I've attempting manually deleting from the database (I know unsupported), though this did not work and just gave many database errors (as expected).
What I'm wondering is if it's possible to uninstall/reinstall the DW. Upon reinstall, I know I would need to likely re-register it with SCSM.
In doing this, will all of the custom classifications/statuses/templates/etc stay in place?
Once installed, would all of the sync jobs pick up as expected and sync the current data in the Service Manager (No incidents/Changes/etc) to the DW?
We have all databases/Service Manager/Portal running on one server. DW running on a 2nd server.
If anyone could provide some insight around this, it would be much appreciated. Any direction towards documentation would also be great!
Thanks

The best scenario (and my recomendation) would be to export and take backup of all your management packs, reinstall the entire Service Manager environment and import them again. In that way you should be able to get a fresh, functional Service
Manager and all your settings would be retained.
However, to answer your question, you would need to:
- Unregister with SCSM DW
- Uninstall DW
- Delete the three DW databases
- Install DW
- Register with DW
This would not affect any settings in your SCSM environment and you would have an empty DW.

I had to replace the hard drive in my old MacBook. I replaced it. Installed OSX10.6. Then using the system software I reinstalled data from my Time Machine backup. On completion it asked for my password. It is not accepted. I am locked out how I overcome this?
I was already using 10.7. But only had the disc for 10.6.

Sorry I am new to this. Am I in the right area? I am using my iPhone to make contact. I am worried.

  • How to reinstall data from hp backup discs

System crashed. Can't seem to figure out how to reinstall data from backup discs.

    Greetings,
If you place the first disc into your DVD-ROM and start your computer, on the HP screen press Escape until you get a menu. Select the Boot menu, choose CD/DVD-ROM, and then enter. Press any key when it tells you to press any key to boot off CD-ROM. This will load the recovery software.
*****WARNING***** you will lose all files and programs that you have installed and placed on your computer since you purchased the unit.
. Once this has been completed, you will see a HP Recovery screen. Select System Recovery, then select next and follow the prompts. There should be a section allowing you to backup your data onto a flash drive. Now I recommend if there is any critical data on your disk that you verify the backup prior to initiating the actual recovery.
This will set your computer up as the day that you first purchased it. All data and programs installed on the computer since the day you purchased it will be gone.
During this process make sure you are on your AC adapter and you have no extra devices plugged in such as printers, external hard disks, and flash drives while the actual recovery is taking place. You can use your flash drive during the backup process portion.
    Good Luck
    Brent

Thanks for the architecture comments. I'm interested in this topic because ALARM brought me to arch (although I've replaced the raspberry pi with an Intel-based machine now).
Well, I'm afraid of starting some kind of flame war by suggesting this officially as a lowly arch noob. I'll leave it up to the people who might profit by something like this (i.e. ALARM – or maybe they don't care and are fine with the current solution, in which case the change is not required at all). For the record, I like the glob solution. It's more flexible than just 'all' and it's easier to memorize the difference between 'any' and '*' compared to 'any' and 'all'.
It turned out the "adding users" topic is not an issue, because I realized I can simply set "User=nobody / Group=audio" in the systemd unit file to get rid of root privileges while keeping the permission to play audio without logging in. I also set up a minimal Arch VM to test if gnome-icon-theme can be dropped. I found no problems without that package, so I think I'm now ready to upload the modified PKGBUILD (and related files) to the AUR.
I'll flag this topic as solved. Feel free to add more comments though. Thanks everyone

  • Remove test run from Load Test Manager in Visual Studio Online Load Testing

I have been using the Visual Studio Online Azure load testing for a while now, and I have a number of test runs that I would like to remove.  I am not referring to my local Load Test Results Store (on-premise SQL DB), as I can remove test runs no problem.
I mean, how to remove them from "the cloud" so we can no longer re-download the test results.

    Hi David,
As far as I know, it's not supported for Visual Studio Online to run load tests for solutions hosted on GitHub. You can submit a user voice

  • Removing Test Drive Question

I have never activated Test Drive. When I go to remove it via its uninstaller it does not find any components to remove. I want to install MS Office Student teacher edition instead. That software recommends deleting Test drive. My question is how do I remove Test Drive when it has never been activated into its 30 day trial period?

Thank you for your response. You are referring to the Test Drive Folder itself, not the individual components within the folder correct?

  • There is no "Remove Test Drive" option in my Office X folder

I recently bought a MacBook, and during initial set-up, I had it bring over all the information from my iMac (also Tiger version). On my iMac, I had the student version of Office X, so that came over automatically, too. Now every time I start up an Office application, the Test Drive version of Office 2004 starts. There is no "remove test drive" in the Office X folder, and there is no Office 2004 folder in my Applications. The only advice I've found to solve my problem is to remove the test drive, but I don't know how! Any advice?

Unless you moved it, the Microsoft Office 2004 Test Drive folder should be in your Applications folder. The Office 2004 Test Drive applications must be on your hard drive or the applications wouldn't launch.
Have you tried a Spotlight search?

  • HT2703 Can i reinstall Bonjour without uninstalling/reinstalling itunes after accidental removal?

Can i reinstall Bonjour, after accidental removal, without uninstall/reinstalling itunes?

Uninstalling and then reinstalling your iTunes should also get your Bonjour reinstalled.
For the reinstall, use an installer downloaded from the Apple website:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
... or you could get it back via your Apple Software Update for Windows.
If you'd prefer not to uninstall iTunes, try the following procedure.
Download and save a copy of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe) installer file to your hard drive:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Download and install the free trial version of WinRAR:
    http://www.rarlab.com/
Right-click the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe), and select "Extract to iTunesSetup" (or "Extract to iTunes64Setup"). WinRAR will expand the contents of the file into a folder called "iTunesSetup" (or "iTunes64Setup").
Go into the folder and doubleclick the Bonjour.msi (or Bonjour64.msi) to do a standalone Bonjour install.

we are trying to reinstall itunes and cannot remove old virsion

Go here - http://www.apple.com/support/mac/app-store/ - and try contacting support. While I still show Lion in my purchases, I can't seem to download it again as I am currently running 10.8. But I made a backup of the install app so that I have both Lion and Mountain Lion installers. If you are able to download it again, make certain that you quit the install app and make a USB flash drive installer or DVD using Lion DiskMaker (which also works with Mountain Lion).
I'm curious as to what sort of problems you encountered when installing ML? Did you make the install? Or did it quit or something?

  • Clean install - reinstall data & settings from last time machine backup

My machine is really slow, the beach ball is spinning all too often - it's time for a clean install Snow Leopard
I have already done a final time machine backup. I want to restore email and accounts, safari settings, iTunes music and Document files - nothing else.
How do I do this without reinstalling the whole backup I've just made? Can I easily cherry pick the bits I want?
    Thanks in advance

I agree with Barry; that's rarely very helpful on OSX. See below for some suggestions.

To a degree, yes. See #15 in [Time Machine - Frequently Asked Questions|http://web.me.com/pondini/Time_Machine/FAQ.html] (or use the link in *User Tips* at the top of this forum), for the procedure to restore selected items, and #28 for the location of some common data files.

One frequent cause of performance problems is simple: not enough free space on your OSX disk. If there's less than about 15% free (perhaps less on a large drive), your Mac will probably begin to slow down noticeably.
Another is "leftovers" from applications that weren't completely deleted. One clue to that, among other possible problems, is the size of your logs. See the green box in [OSX Log Files|http://web.me.com/pondini/AppleTips/Logs.html]. If yours are large, it will show you how to find and deal with the culprits.
Another is running anti-virus software on OSX. Other than ClamXav, most of it is not only unnecessary, but more of a problem than having a virus! See Thomas Reed's [Mac Virus Guide|http://www.reedcorner.net/thomas/guides/macvirus].
If you suspect an actual problem with your installation of OSX, start by downloading and installing the 10.6.5 "combo" update. That's the cleverly-named combination of all the updates to Snow Leopard since it was first released, so installing it should fix anything that's gone wrong since then, such as with one of the normal "point" updates. Info and download available at: http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1324 Be sure to do a +Repair Permissions+ via Disk Utility (in your Applications/Utilities folder) afterwards.
If that doesn't help, reinstall OSX from your Snow Leopard Install disc (that won't affect anything else), then apply the "combo" again.

  • Reinstalling data from Time Capsule, but for only one user

    Hello!
I just got a new-used MacBook Pro and need to use Time Capsule to retrieve my old hard drive's data, but I do not want to overwrite the existing data on the laptop's drive, since it is different, including the OS, I believe. I would like to split the disc, as it were, without partitioning it, for multiple users using Time Capsule. Can I safely use Time Capsule to put all the files only into one user account, or do I need to wipe the drive and partition...?

You can use the +Migration Assistant+ app to transfer one or more user accounts from the old Mac, without overwriting anything on the new one. Those will be a separate accounts, with the same logins as on the old Mac. Each user account will have it's own preferences, data, etc. See the pink box in #19 of Time Machine - Frequently Asked Questions (or use the link in *User Tips* at the top of this forum), for details.
That won't "merge" two or more user accounts, since each user's data is private. You can do that manually, if you want, by copying data from one user account to another, but it's rather tedious.
You may also need to be careful if there's a big difference in the versions of OSX and/or 3rd-party apps on the two Macs; you may have apps and/or data on one that aren't compatible with the other. In many cases, a newer version of an app will work with the data from an older version, but not vice-versa. You may want to check that out rather carefully first.
If that's a "deal breaker," there may be a (rather clumsy) workaround; partition the internal disk, so you have, say, Leopard on one partition and Snow Leopard on the other. Then boot from whichever you want. In that case, you'd do a full system restore to the new partition, per #14 in the FAQ. That will only work, though, if the Pro will even run the other version -- generally, a Mac won't run a version of OSX that's older than the Mac's hardware.

To install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you downloaded.

  • Trying to reinstall Photoshop CS3 after removing trial version of PS CS4

    Hi,
I'm on an HP laptop - Win XP Home Edition - 1 gb RAM, plenty of space.
So, after major, continuous crashing in Photoshop CS3, I decided to see if CS4 would work ok. It was nice, but I let the trial expire and decided to continue to see if 3 would get in gear.
I removed the trial software (i thought)
Today, I uninstalled CS3, so I could reinstall the whole thing rather than repairing it. It won't reinstall because the CS4 files have been moved.
is there some way to completely wipe out all reference to 4?
    thanks in advance!
    dana

ok - well, I found the informationin KB 401401 to be the most helpful - after wiping out the entire suite of CS3 -  finally got it to reinstall (after the second time)...
NOW, back to my ORIGINAL issue - Photoshop CS3 crashes every time I open a second photo... So... there's that again. Anyone have any ideas?
    Thank yOU!!
    Dana

  • How to remove test run (no update) check

    Hi gurus,
Im new to SAP HR..i wanted to perform live payroll run..and im unable to remove check in Test run (no update)..
    How to solve this...
    Thanks & regards
    Swethana

    Hi,
You may are using PC00_M40_CALC_SIMU for live run payroll. with this t.code we can not update the live payroll. For live payroll run we need to use PC00_M40_CALC in this t.code we can remove check mark for test run. after removng test run check filed, we can the live payroll. That too in simulation mode test run field s display mode not in changeble mode then we cannot remove the test run field in the simulation payroll i.e., PC00_M40_Calc_Simu.
    PC00_M99_Calc_Simu - international simulation payroll
PC00_M99_CALC - Internation payroll for live run.
Here. 99 representing the country grouping. Ex: for inda - M40, Singapore- M25.
    Regards
    Devi
