Reinstall Golive 8.01 (Upgrade/ download) to iMac 10.6.3

How can I reinstall Golive from my old iMac 10.4.11 to the new one 10.6.3?
I copied GL from the application folder, but after starting it tells me:
"Bei einer erforderlichen Programmbibliothek wurde ein Fehler erkannt; die Anwendung kann nicht weiter ausgeführt werden. Installieren Sie die Anwendung neu. (-8)"
"With a required program library, an error is detected, the application can not continue running. Install the application again. (-8)."
I have only an old GL 6.0 on CD, but my 8.0 files cannot be opened with this.
So what can I do?

That is not always a good idea. Running the installer is better.

Tryout versions are here. These accept serial numbers to become full versions. I do not know how they behave as upgrades.
You're probably better off keeping your old iMac to run GoLive. As you introduce newer hardware and operating systems, more quirks may appear in GoLive. GoLive was never intended for Intel processors or Snow Leopard.

Sounds like you transferred programs from another drive? This isn't a very good way to do it. Yes, re-install the Adobe apps.

  • What happens if i need to reinstall Lion from a disc after my iMac ***** itself?

What happens if i need to reinstall Lion from a disc after my iMac sh**'s itself?

It depends on how bad your iMac sh**'s itself.  If you can boot into the Recovery partition, then there is  re-install option which will automatically download Lion from the store and install it.  If you can't boot into recovery then you would have needed to create a bootable Lion dvd or thumb drive to do an install.  In this case you would need to create the bootable image after downloading the Lion installer and before performing the install as the installer gets deleted upon successful upgrade to Lion.

I want to reinstall OS on my 2012 MacBook Pro. It shipped with 10.8, but now runs 10.9. Can I reinstall straight to 10.9, or do I have to reinstall 10.8 and upgrade again to 10.9?

Best to install 10.9 straight up. If you still have your OS 10.9 downloaded file you can use that, or you can go to the app store and download it again. It will be in your previous purchase history. Or you could even upgrade to 10.10. If you want to start from scratch you will need to boot from USB or DVD and initialise (erase) your internal HD. To do create a bootable USB thumb drive with OS 10.9 or 10.10 follow this guide

I need to reinstall the system software on my older iMac. I have lost the system disks, though... so now what? It had 10.4. We moved, and I have looked everywhere. Am I doomed to find a way to buy it? Can taking it into the Apple Store fix it? Will it be expensive THERE? I've already saved all of the files I want off of it.... I just need it to work now.

You've lost me on why you need to reinstall Tiger, when you already have all the files you wanted (which means Tiger worked perfectly fine). If you want to upgrade to Leopard, that's a different issue: your Mac needs to meet the minimum system requirements for that, which you can easily determine.
If you just want to get a replacement set of Tiger install discs, you can try calling AppleCare and see if they're able to send you a replacement set, and if not, you'll have to buy a new set yourself. You can get them on eBay, Craigslist, and HardCore Mac (http://store.yahoo.com/hardcoremac/), although they sell it for ridiculous prices.

  • Cant reinstall GoLive 6.0.

I just did a clean install of Windows XP, and I cannot reinstall GoLive 6.0. I get the message "Invalid Serial Number". I saw the thread posted a few months back, but no solution was posted. I just spoke to knowledgeable Adobe Technical Support representative. He confirmed my serial number was valid, but he could not find a fix. However, something he said made me think this could be a Windows or Internet Explorer 7 issue. I have three computers, but unfortunately all are up to date Windows-wise (SP2 & I.E. 7), and I get the same error on all of them.
So, has anyone else hit this problem, and more importantly figured out how to solve it? This is really hurting me. Aside from the cost to upgrade, I dont have time to learn new software right now. And I really need to edit my site.
One more question: Will GoLive 5.0 work on Windows XP? (And would I be able to open and edit the site I created on GoLive 6.0)?
    - jim

I'll join in here, but take all my details as possibly wrong and check behind me...I'm having a similar problem and have run it through tech support w/o resolution yet, either. I thought I might do an experimental workaround, because I have it running fine on another computer with XP Home, so I copied my 6.0_ENG from Program Files >> Adobe>>GoLive 6.0_ENG, made a duplicate folder on the second computer (XP Pro)and pasted it in. I launched via GoLive.exe (It's actually 6.0.1.0) directly and I got an error message, "Cannot Retrieve Serial Number Information." I thought, well maybe that's stored in the preferences file, so I went to copy/paste that, too, into the Doc & Settings Application Data>> but what's probably my 5.0 preferences file was already there, and (inside an Adobe folder, not an Office or Outlook folder) the .prf extension was assigned to open with MS Outlook. Maybe the .prf extension has been reassigned/overridden???? Changing it to open w/ GoLive through Control Panel >> Folders just messes up Outlook. I don't know if that's even where the serial number is stored, but perhaps the problem might lie with the confused extensions. Anybody else showing a potential conflict like this?
(And to the above, mine is an upgrade from 5.0 Educational version but I am not following a clean XP install, just trying to add GoLive to a computer that has other issues that I'm trying to unscramble so I can just work on one (Large) site). I installed 5.0 with no problem and can use that v.

  • Reinstalling Acrobat 9 after upgrading my x86 computer from Win XP Pro to Win 8 Pro on a metered isp

I am trying to reinstall Acrobat 9 after upgrading my x86 computer from Win XP Pro SP3 to Win 8 Pro. I used the CD to install the original Acrobat 9, then began the process of applying all the updates that have been issued since. The update from 9.0 to 9.2.0 was 300.1 MB, but my satellite ISP only allows for 250 MB per day. How can I update to the current version 9.5.3 without having to download and install all the intermediate versions?

  • Just upgraded my 2014 iMac to yosemite. Now my Bose sound link won't work. The bluetooth is connected and it beeps as normal, just no sound comes from the speaker. This is very frustrating (along with the now flat rather than 3D icons on the desktop)

I have just upgraded my 2014 iMac to YOSEMITE. Now my Bose Soundlink bluetooth speaker connects, beeps as normal, but produces no sound from the Bose speaker whatsoever. HELP PLEASE

I have now recently downloaded 10.0.2 which is confusing in itself, as, as far as I can ascertain that is actually version 11, but I'm not even sure about that.
Version 10.0.2 is the newest version and the successor to GarageBand '11 (version 6.0.5).
The '11 is referring to the iLife '11 suit of multimedia application - the older GarageBand was a part of this bundle.
Have a look at Edgar's graphical enhanced manuals, the explain very detailed how things work and why. You can buy them as iBooks from the iBook store or directly from the page:

Mountain Lion upgrade download stopped, now it states in purchased apps that 'an error has occured' and resume button is blank & will not work. Tried to re download, but it states code has already been used

    Danielle...
From the App Store menu bar top of your screen click Store > Check for Unfinished Downloads
If that doesn't help, disable anti virus software and turn off the Firewall in System Preferences > Security & Privacy.
Keep in mind, for downloading Mountain Lion from the App Store, a high speed (broadband) internet connection is strongly recommended by Apple as noted here > iTUNES STORE - MAC APP STORE - TERMS AND CONDITIONS
If you need to reinstall OS X or repair the the startup disk using Mountain Lion Recovery, that requires broadband (high speed internet) access to the internet via Wi-Fi or an Ethernet connection. OS X is downloaded over the internet form Apple when OS X Recovery is used for reinstallation.

  • How do I get help reinstalling my Adobe creative suite 6 after IMAC IOS 10.8 crashed?

How do I get help reinstalling my Adobe creative suite 6 after IMAC IOS 10.8 crashed?  Apple had to reinstall operating system and all programs & data were lost.  Adobe System say serial number valid, but qualifying product can not be found on this computer.

When you're installing Adobe upgrades, there are two ways of doing it:
Have an existing, qualifying version already installed. Install the upgrade and enter your upgrade serial number. The installer will detect the earlier qualifying version already installed and the upgrade will finish installing. That is not your scenario.
The second option (and easiest on new computers with no Adobe software previously installed) is to simply install the latest version (usually an upgrade) and enter your upgrade serial number. That's what you've done so far.
The installer will look for an earlier version already installed on your computer. If it cannot find one, it will prompt you to enter the serial number from an earlier version. Once you enter the earlier qualifying version serial number, the upgrade installer will complete the installation. If you cannot find an earlier version serial number then the upgrade will not be licensed and will go into trial mode. From there you can use it for 30 days until it will no longer launch.

  • Just bought Snow leopard 10.6.3 and upgraded my 2008 iMAC; now want to use the free upgrade to Maverick... is that possible? I read compatibility requirement of 10.6.8 or later...

Hi! Just bought Snow leopard 10.6.3 and upgraded my 2008 iMAC; now want to use the free upgrade to Mavericks like I was advised in the Apple/Switch store... is that possible? I read compatibility requirement of 10.6.8 or later...???? Thanks for any guidance!

Before installation you should back up all your data.
When you have installed it, run Software Update to download and install the latest updates for Snow Leopard to bring it up to 10.6.8, or download the combo update from here:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1399
Check via Software Update whether any further updates are required, particularly to iTunes (you will need the latest version in order to synch with mobile devices).
You should now see the App Store icon in iTunes, and you now need to set up your account:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4479
You can now upgrade to Mavericks OS 10.9 for free IF you have one of the following Macs, with not less than 2GB of RAM, and at least 8GB of available space on your hard drive:
    iMac (Mid-2007 or later)
MacBook (13-inch Aluminum, Late 2008), (13-inch, Early 2009 or later)
    MacBook Pro (13-inch, Mid-2009 or later), (15-inch, Mid/Late 2007 or later), (17-inch, Late 2007 or later)
MacBook Air (Late 2008 or later)
Mac Mini (Early 2009 or later)
Mac Pro (Early 2008 or later)
    Xserve (Early 2009)
    iCloud system requirements:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4759
If you cannot run Mavericks you can purchase the code to use to download Lion from the App Store (Lion requires an Intel-based Mac with a Core 2 Duo, i3, i5, i7 or Xeon processor and 2GB of RAM, running the latest version of Snow Leopard):
    http://store.apple.com/us/product/D6106Z/A/os-x-lion
    or Mountain Lion:

  • Is it time to upgrade to an imac

    Hi..
I currently work on Logic 9 and kontakt 8 library and some other au instruments.. All of this is connected to a 2009 MacBook with 2gb ram.
My only question to the experts is whether a ram upgrade would let me work full fledgedly or is it time for me to upgrade to an iMac ??
I haven't received any replies when I posted the same on the logic forum, would appreciate if you could take some time and post ur suggestions..
    Cheers,
    Gaggy

Adding more RAM to your computer probably wouldn't hurt. Upgrading to an iMac would be a step in the right direction unless portability is essential. But new iMacs come with Lion or Mountain Lion, so you should first determine if your essential software is compatible.
See App Compatibility Table - RoaringApps - App compatibility and feature support for OS X & iOS.
