REINSTALL I-TUNES

I have been in iTunes all day building new playlists and cleaning up my library. While trying to get into the iTunes store, the window suddenly closed. I went to my desktop and clicked on my iTunes icon. I got the following message:
iTunes cannot run because some of its required files are missing. Please reinstall iTunes.
Does anyone have any idea of what is happening with this site today. I have been seeing numerous problems posted by others and also have experienced myself EXTREMELY long times in downloading my purchases (about 6+ hours for one TV series).
If I reinstall iTunes, do I lose everything I already have and have to begin again?
Can someone please help me. I am useless at these things. Is this just a turn the computer off and hope for the best solution?
Thanks.

If you recieved a message stating that you need to reinstall iTunes, this is not likely the result of the iTunes Store. More probably a file was deleted during your cleanup that was necessary for the iTunes application to run.
If you reinstall iTunes, you will NOT lose your purchases or playlists. However, it is always a good idea to back your purchases up.

  • My PC no longer recognizes my I Phone 4S since the recent OS update.  Reinstalling I Tunes has not helped.

My Win 7 PC will not recognize my I-Phone 4S since the recent OS update.  Reinstalling I-Tunes has not helped.  What else can I try?

irst off, you can connect the device to another computer to import the photos. Second the error that you are seeing is a Windows error and you would have to look that one up on Microsoft.com. You should be able to remove the device from Device Manager, unplug the phone, wait a moment and then plug it back in. It should recognize it then and load the driver.
The message board is no longer allowing me to reply from that site.  In answer to above, I don’t have another computer.  Yes, what I sent is a windows error message but this is NOT a windows error.  From what I can see online from others, this is a problem many are having as a result of something in the new OS we downloaded to keep our I-phones current.  Everything worked fine before downloading the new OS and nothing changed in our systems except the new OS.  Apple needs to diagnose the problem and develop a fix!

  • I reinstalled I-Tunes several weeks ago.  Since then I can no longer burn MP3 Discs with Title and Artist Info.  Sometimes it only burns every 3rd song.  No Audio CD it seems to function OK.  The version has the "cloud" but I don't know if that matters or

I reinstalled I-Tunes several weeks ago.  I can no longer burn MP3 Disk with Song/Artist info onto disc.  It comes up as No Artist/No Title on car CD unit.  Old MP3 Disk previously recorded still show all info.  Sometimes only every 3rd song is on the MP3 CD.  On Audio Disc there is no change and all info still shows up.  The new I-Tunes version has the "cloud" on it if that could make a difference.  In the select Burn CD mode I can select testing and add song info for Audio Disk but it shows shadowed out for MP3/Data.  I added and removed ID tagging from my list to see if that made a difference but it didn't.
    Any Thoughts?

This may help.  Audio files are actaully in the DATA folder.  These can be editted with Soundbooth then they must be imported intot the specific slide in the Powerpoint presentation.  Publish the presentation (as you'll read below) and *should* work This reply came from robva65 [email protected]
Let's try this: *Publish* the PPT deck you have.  What you'll end up with is a set of files and folders, but I want you to look for the *data folder* that's created as a result of the publishing process. (Unless you specify where you're publishing to, Presenter will publish to a directory called "My Adobe Presentations" by default, so you may have to look there on your harddrive)  Inside the data folder will be a list of mp3 files, which, if everything goes smoothly, should make it much, much easier to see which audio is used by a specific slide.
Here's what I mean: for example, after publishing, I have a data folder and inside I found the following file: a24x9x3.mp3  As I double click the mp3 file (which causes it to play using Windows Media on my laptop), I can hear that it corresponds to my slide 9 in my PPT deck.  And there's corresponding mp3 files for each and every slide I have in my deck.  I'm clicking another file (wouldn't it be nice to see what I'm doing???) a24x20x3.mp3, and that file corresponds to my slide 20 content in PowerPoint.
So again, give publishing in PowerPoint a shot and see if that makes it any easier.  Well...not nearly as easy as recording in Audition/Soundbooth/Audacity, but it's close enough to hopefully dig you out of that hole you're in now.
    Hope this helps ~rich

Click here and follow the instructions. You may need to completely remove and reinstall iTunes and all related components; this won't normally affect its library, but that should be backed up anyway.

Let's try a standalone Apple Mobile Device Support install. It still might not install, but fingers crossed any error messages will give us a better idea of the underlying cause of why it's not installing under normal conditions.
Download and save a copy of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe) installer file to your hard drive:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Download and install the free trial version of WinRAR:
    http://www.rarlab.com/
Right-click the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe), and select "Extract to iTunesSetup" (or "Extract to iTunes64Setup"). WinRAR will expand the contents of the file into a folder called "iTunesSetup" (or "iTunes64Setup").
Go into the folder and doubleclick the AppleMobileDeviceSupport.msi to do a standalone AMDS install.
(If it offers you the choice to remove or repair, choose "Remove", and if the uninstall goes through successfully, see if you can reinstall by doubleclicking the AppleMobileDeviceSupport.msi again.)
Does it install (or uninstall and then reinstall) properly for you? If so, does an iTunes install go through properly now?
If instead you get an error message during the install (or uninstall), let us know what it says. (Precise text, please.)

  • Error mess says: "some files missing, reinstall I Tunes"

Was working o.k but have not used in a while. Noticed today that on 5/13, 100 - 200 new items from 0 secs to 36 mins. all shown at 3:56 PM (none by us). Tried to use help and a new message appeared as above. Now can't get in on that computer as it says must reinstall I tunes completely.
    Any ideas? Thanks

    Natalychinchilla,
It seems like that you have downloaded two different files (For two different language)  on your machine. If you have used the below mentioned download link for downloading your product, please make sure that you are using the installer for the same language. Please check the below screen shot for the explanation.
    Download CS6 products
Once you have downloaded both the files, please click on DesignWebPremium_CS6_LS16.exe to perform the extraction followed by installation.

  • I got a virus on my PC and had to reinstall I-tunes.Now I can't add anymore

I got a virus on my PC and had to reinstall I-tunes. Now I can't add any new songs onto my I-Pod Nano. After wiping the PC clean and downloading the I-Tunes again, it recognises my i-pod but the library is empty in the i-tunes player, but the songs are still on the ipod itself. I can add songs to the library but if I sync it, the songs are not added to the i-pod. However, for some reason, it will let me update the podcasts that I had already previously added to the ipod, does this help explain it a bit better

I'm having the same problem and cannot find help. Please let me know if you figure it out.

    Hi mbelanger1,
If you are still having issues with that error message, you may need to entirely remove iTunes, then reinstall it. You may find the following article helpful:
Apple SupportL: Removing and reinstalling iTunes and other software components for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1923
    Note:
iTunes Store purchases or songs imported from CDs are saved in your My Music folder by default and aren't deleted by removing iTunes. While it's highly unlikely that you'll lose any contents of your iTunes Library when following these steps, it's always a good idea to ensure that your iTunes library is backed up. If you're unsure how to backup, follow these steps.

  • How do i reinstall i tunes without lossing my libray

how do i reinstall i tunes without lossing my libray

The main file that holds the itunes database is this one:
    C:\Users\Test\Music\iTunes\iTines Library.itl
I always make a backup copy of that before I upgrade itunes or reinstall.  The installtion is not supposed to damage that file but things happen sometimes.
