Reinstall issue on upgraded CS Design Standard 5.5 on new Mac

Old Mac crashed and died, and with it my CS DS 5.5. Have downloaded a new copy from the Adobe website.
Tha Adobe Application Manager accepts the serial number, but can't find a "qualified product". When trying to select manually from the pull down-menu, 5.5 is not there, just 5.0, which is not accepted either.
I own an old 3.0 license, so the 5.5 was probably an upgrade. I tried to work around the issue by downloading CS 3, but the Adobe download link dead just ends in an error message.
Customer service phone hours seem to be over, as all attempts to go there loop back to the page where one choses a product...
Any suggestions?

See my reply to your other thread and provide more information. Adobe doesn't offer hand-holding, least of all on weekends, but you could always try to chat with one of the Indian support guys via the support pages...

  • Can't reinstall Adobe Acrobat from my Design Standard 5.5

I uninstalled Adobe Acrobat from by computer, it was part of Adobe Creative Suite 5.5 Design Standard. When I tried to reinstall Acrobat from the disk, it says my serial number is invalid, which it isn't. I tried live chat with Adobe but they were unable to help me. I use Acrobat for work and school so I really need to get this resolved.

Yes, and there is just one disk. I have tried deactivating Photoshop so it will let me license the product again, but I can’t deactivate. I’ve also tried un-installing the entire suite and then re-installing, but I am unable to uninstall.

I am not sure that changing suites is supported.

    Hi,
Is there any particular application's interface that is coming up small or is it happening with all the products?

  • Will a FCP 3.0.4 upgrade from FCP 1 load onto a new Mac Pro

Will a FCP 3.0.4 upgrade from FCP 1 load onto a new Mac Pro. I have tried loading in onto a mac book with no luck. I think its because my original FCP 1 loades using OS9 and because the new Mac Pro does not have an old operating system on it I cant load my original FCP.

You should upgrade to FCP 5.1 or 6 as Jerry says.
However, if you are desperate you could try this :-
Install just your FCP 3 upgrade and also put in your FCP 1 serial number when asked.
Whenever you try to open FCP you will probably get an error message. Click the "esc" key and FCP should open.

  • Upgrade from Design Standard to Production Premium

    Hello,
the company I am working at is thinking about an upgrade from the Design Standard CS 5.5 to the Production Premium CS6.
My question now is: When we upgrade is it still possible to use InDesign CS 5.5?? Or will the licence change completly to Production Premium that it wont be possible to active InDesign ot the Design Standard package??
    Thanks.

Thanks for your answer. That I can install CS5.5 und CS6 I was aware. The problem I saw was that the Production Premium doesn't include Indesign and that I will lose the the programm after the upgrade.

  • I am attempting to reinstall my Adobe CS 4 design standard.

It gave me a set up error. I called customer service and they told me to download it at tiny.cc/cs3cs4cs5cs6. The only problem is there is no download there for CS4 design standard. I tried SC4 design premium but it also gave me a set up error. Can anyone help???

if you follow all 7 steps you can directly download a trial here:  http://prodesigntools.com/download-adobe-cs4-and-cs3-free-trials-here.html
and activate with your serial number.
if you have a problem starting the download, you didn't follow all 7 steps, or your browser does not accept cookies.
the most common problem is caused by failing to meticulously follow steps 1,2 and/or 3 (which adds a cookie to your system enabling you to download the correct version from adobe.com).
failure to obtain that cookie results in an error page being displayed after clicking a link on prodesigntools.com or initiates the download of an incorrect (eg, current) version.

  • Upgrade CS3 Design Standard using CS3 Design premium Upgrade?

    Is this possible?
My employer purchased an Adobe Creative Suite 3 Design Premium Upgrade, and I have the Standard version of CS3 installed on my G4; there is nothing mentioned in the system requirements list, but on the box front it reads "This upgrade version of Adobe Creative Suite 3.3 Design Premium will install only if you are a licensed user of eligible Adobe Creative Suite 3 Design Premium software."
That seems to be pretty definitive, but I thought I'd check with some more knowledgeable users.

    m,
What your boss has and what you have is not relevant. The two Creative Suites are two distinct versions, each with its own license and upgrade path.
Aside from it being illegal, you cannot use your boss' software Premium version to upgrade your Standard version.
Beyond that, CS3 and CS3.3 are both discontinued. My recommendation would be to save for a newer computer and CS4 Standard or Premium.

  • Illustrator CS5 upgrade to Design Standard problem

Illustrator was working fine before but after upgrade only functions as a viewer of Ai documents.  Selecting any tool only provides the hand tool, no other action possible. Acrobat Pro works fine, Photoshop works fine.
Assume the best start is to uninstall and reinstall but I won't be able to access the disks to do that until next week.  Any ideas appreciated.
System: 2008 Macbook Pro, OSX 10.7.3; Illustrator CS5, Version 15.1.0

The hand tool isn't good enough for you?
Have you tried deleting your preferences?

  • Missing install.app file for CS6 Design Standard Student version for Windows/Mac

So, I checked out the second linnk and it says something about needing an upgrade if I don't have to most recent version? Does that mean I'll need to upgrade to Photoshop CC before I can get a cross grade? Or can I keep the CS6 Extended version?
Adobe loves confusing people with their marketing copy. Without trying, they often obfuscate the simplest of processes with poor wording.
The platform swap process only applies to perpetually licensed versions since they're tied to platform specific serial numbers: Mac or Windows, never both ( applies to CS6 and lower). Not CC which is licensed for both Mac and/or Windows via your Adobe ID, so there's no platform swapping necessary.
What Adobe is trying to say is that you can only swap platforms for the most current perpetually licensed version.
e.g. CS6 Windows can be transferred to CS6 Mac.
However, CS5 Windows cannot be transferred to CS5 Mac. You must pay the upgrade cost from CS5 to CS6 and swap platforms at the same time (that's a crossgrade). e.g. CS5 Windows to CS6 Mac is OK.
Photoshop CC is entirely different. It is available to anyone but only via subscription, even without ever previously owning any Adobe software. There's no upgrading or crossgrading. You simply join up - but keep in mind that you never own the software.
You don't need CS5 or CS6 to start subscribing to Photoshop CC. There's no connection with your CS5 license other than you can use your CS5 license to get a discounted rate for the first 12 months of CC membership.

  • Upgrade my 2010 MBP or Purchase a new Mac?

    Hey All,
I need some advice and would really value your opinions.  I have a Mid-2010 MacBook Pro and it's been great to me for 5 years, however, it is so slow compared to my work computer which is a 2013 MacBook Air.  Since I don't personally own my work's MacBook Air, I am afraid to personalize it - install my apps, media, etc.  I love how fast my MacBook Air is and knowing how fast a computer can be makes using my MacBook Pro very frustrating.  I don't use my MacBook Pro for anything substantial: no gaming, no photoshop, etc., but would love it if it was faster overall (transferring data, downloading).  All I use it for is primarily web browsing, word/excel documents, and iTunes (have all my media stored on an external hard drive but my iTunes reads it wirelessly from my Apple Airport Extreme - where my external hard drive is plugged into).
My question for you all is this:  is upgrading to an SSD worth it?  Can I make my Mid-2010 MacBook Pro comparable in overall speed to my work's 2013 MacBook Air? If not, will it at least make is noticeably quicker?  I already upgraded my RAM to 8GB without seeing much improvement.  I've heard that SSD's can make a huge difference (especially if you get the right one).  If true...which SSD do you recommend for my Machine specifically?
I recently upgraded from OS X 10.7.5 (Lion) to Yosemite and noticed a lot of glitches...is that normal?  All these issues seem to point me in the direction of spending the $1500+ on a new computer but my current 2010 MacBook Pro runs decent for its age and I would appreciate not having to spend the extra dinero...idk what to do but am interested in hearing what you would do. Below are my computer's specs:
    MacBook Pro (15-inch, Mid 2010)
Processor: 2.4 GHz intel Core i5
    Memory: 8GB 1067 MHz DDR3
Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GT 330M 256MB
    Thoughts?  Thanks in advance,
    Joe

Try installing the 10.10.2 update if you didn't already. Seems to solve a lot of slowness and issues.
I have a 2010 MBP 13" with Core 2 Duo @ 2.4 GHz (slower than yours) and it runs awesomely, doing the same stuff you do with yours...
If you want an SSD, consider OWC's Data Doubler kit. Lets you turn your CD drive into a hard drive bay, so you can have an SSD and the hard disk - and make your own Fusion Drive (which can really improve performance). Be warned that there are issues with this in Yosemite, and you need a Mavericks boot drive or recovery partition (or OS X 10.10.0 or beta) to run the commands. The whole Fusion Drive process is pretty advanced, so take that into consideration.

  • How do I Reinstall My Creative Suite Master Collection version CS6 onto my New Mac???

    Hello all,
After 2.5 years, my "new" now "old" macbook pro crapped out.  Well before it did, as a graphic designer, I purchased the CS6 Master Suite Collection.  I have my serial number, yet am unable to figure out how to reinstall the programs onto my new computer, simply using the serial number from the programs purchased and loaded onto the old computer.
    Please help.  Thanks.
                 Joshua

Download the installation files and install and activate them using your serial number.
    CS6 - http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/policy-pricing/cs6-product-downloads.html
If your original installation was still working when the machine crapped out you should contact Adobe Support thru chat and have them reset your activation count so that you retain an extra one if you ever want/need to have two working installations.
For the link below click the Still Need Help? option in the blue area at the bottom and choose the chat option...

  • Can't register Adobe Design Premium 5.5 on new Mac laptop.

I just installed Adobe Design Premium 5.5 on my new laptop (zeroed out the old laptop HD). Upon launch, the apps request a 6 digit serial #. However, Design Premium 5.5 DVDs shipped with a 24-digit serial number. I registered the sw with Adobe in May 2011, and it's still listed in my Adobe account - with the 24 digit #.
How do I get out of Trial Version limbo?

The discs I installed from are labelled Adobe Creative Suite 5.5 Design Premium (Education Edition). When I launch an app, this screen displays:
