Reinstall Lightroom with a serial number?

I had to refresh my pc which made me have to reinstall Lightroom 5.  I was told to install as a trial, then enter my serial number.  I tried that and it wouldn't accept my serial number.  What do I do?

As dj_paige says you probably have the trial of the Creative Cloud version installed (this version cannot be activated with the perpetual license key). Uninstall the one presently on your computer this will not affect your existing catalog, preferences and other personal files. Then download LR 5.6 from the link below, install and insert your serial number and it should work fine.

    This is a user to user forum so there is no one here to provide you with a new serial number or to reset your serial number.
    It is possible that you are trying to activate an installation of the Creative Cloud version of Lightroom. It is not possible to do so with your License Key. You need to uninstall the existing version that you have installed. This will not interfere with your catalog, Preferences or personal files, it will just remove the application.
    Then download the perpetual license from the link below. Install and it should accept your license key just fine.

    The standalone version and the CC version are both the same exact program, but the licensing is completely different. It will be necessary for you to uninstall the creative cloud trial version and then install the one you purchased from Amazon. After you install, you will be able to open the same catalog and continue from where you were.

    Try if this download link for the trial version still works: if yes, you can install Aperture 3 from this link, then unlock it with your serial number:

    Then use software update to upgrade to 3.3.
    Keep a copy of the Trial installer, just in case you ever need to reinstall.

    My system was rebuilt and getting back to the install disk for Lightroom 5.0 where I enter my serial number associated with the install disk and the system will not continue indicating the serial number is invalid.  I have entered it several times to make sure it was entered properly to no avail.

    If so are you installing from the installation disk or did you download a fresh copy of the installation files?  Finally what operating system are you using?

    You are allowed to have two machines with activated installations, so if you only had one installation, you still have the option to install on a second without doing anything further than that.  If you originally downloaded the purchase thru Adobe then you might find a download link available in your Adobe account online.  You can also download thru the following page if you can find your version:

    Soyouca how did you install Photoshop Lightroom?  Please uninstall the current installation using the uninstaller located in Applications/Utilities/Adobe Installers.
    Once Photoshop Lightroom is removed please download a fresh copy of the installation files from Adobe - Lightroom : For Macintosh.  The update contains the full installer so please download the latest version of Photoshop Lightroom 5.
    You may be asked to enter your serial number for Photoshop Lightroom 4.  You can find information on how to locate the serial numbers under your account at Find your serial number quickly - http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/global/find-serial-number.html.

    If you still have the receipt or other proof of purchase, you can ask Apple to send you the serial. Otherwise, bad luck mate.. Good news is, you can now buy Logic Pro 9 from App Store for just 199 USD

  • My Lightroom 5 upgrade serial number not showing up on My Products page; chat support useless

    I purchased a Lightroom 5 upgrade license on July 25th.  I didn't receive a confirmation email but my serial number was displayed on the order summary page after purchase.  I tried registering the serial number repeatedly through the My Products page but for some reason the serial number wasn't showing up, even though the registration process reported a successful result.  Furthermore, Adobe products bought from the Adobe store should automatically be registered according to Adobe's web site.  Apparently this must have failed.  I need to reinstall Lightroom 5 but the serial number is still not showing up on the My Products page.  I just spent an extremely frustrating hour with Adobe "Live" chat who did nothing but send me in circles and repeat the same canned responses over and over again.
    I'm currently on hold with "phone support" but I'm not optimistic as I've been on hold for 28 minutes.  The only other support option was a link to this forum, hence this post.  Hopefully someone from Adobe can retrieve my serial number and contact me.  Failing this my only other option will be to contact VISA and open a claim.

    OK, I was able to recover my previous system's image and thankfully it appears you can get the serial number from Help->System Info.  I attempted to register the serial number again via the My Products page and while it indicated that the registration was successful, we'll see.  At least I should be able to install LR5 on my new machine now.
    Edit:  I also just discovered that the serial number is listed under My Orders, but not under My Products.  Weird.  In my defence , I never thought to check My Order history because I never received a confirmation email and the order wasn't listed after purchase...even as late as mid-August (when I last checked.)  Very strange but it's all good now.
    Edit #2: OK now I just feel silly.  I just received an email from Naveen with an actual support case AND the correct serial number.  So, I stand corrected.  The Live Chat process still felt incredibly long with some seemingly canned/automated responses but, in all fairness, he did get back to me.  Thank goodness I washed both feet today...
