Reinstall of OS and CS5

I am having trouble with a CS5 re-install on Windows 7 64-bit.
After running this combo trouble free for 3 years, I decided to give my computer a purgative. I reformatted, and then reinstalled Windows 7. Although I succesfully reinstalled CS5, I was plagued by a "missing MSVCP110.dll" message after installing PK sharpener 2. I attempted this with several permutations, uninstalling and then reinstalling, Then, when I finally felt I had a clean, operable, reinstall, I discovered that it had installed to the "windows.old" folder. I was wondering why it had reappeared with all of my old plug-ins. Now, I can't uninstall, because it doesn't appear as an installed program in my control panel. I don't believe that I should be running from my windows.old folder, since that is temporary (isn't it?).
What to do?

Do you have the upgrade version of Encore 2.0? If so, that's the method it uses to verify the prior version is installed. Just install Encore 1.5, and then you can install 2.0.

If you are using Help 》updates, it is outdated. You can however go to Product Updates on the Adobe.com website and download your updates there. I am not at my desk b<t when I get back, I'll get the links unless someone else can do that sooner.

Copy/Paste difference between CS4 and CS5

Please help... I am losing my mind...
I just upgraded from CS4 to CS5 the other day and am at my wits end.
I use Adobe Illustrator for live trace and paste the paths into an embroidery software for digitizing.
In Adobe Illustrator CS4, I could copy (ctrl+c) paths in illustrator and then open the embroidery software and paste (ctrl+v) the paths.
Now that I've upgraded to Illustrator CS5, I can no longer copy/paste paths... why? The paths simply wont paste into the embroidery software any longer.
I feel like there is something very fundamental that I am missing.
Any help is appreciated.

Thank you for your suggestion. If you can't tell already, I am far from an Illustrator power user...
I verified my clipboard settings looked as the attached image and it still did not seem to work. I also tried every combination of options and none of them worked either.
Work Flow: I will highlight the paths and copy them, then in the embroidery software when I hit paste, the mouse cursor turns into the processing icon for a split second like it's trying to paste, but nothing ever shows up in the embroidery software.
I reinstalled Illustrator CS4 alongside CS5 this morning, and tried the same copy/paste process with CS4 (from an illustrator file created in CS5)... works like a charm. I realize that downgrading to CS4 is not the solution. However, not being able to correctly operate the copy/paste commands is toying with my ego...

I've Just migrated my mac to a new iMac and CS5 is dead, I can't uninstall it or do anything with it. When I try to load an application it just crashes (I'm guessing because it needs registering on my new machine) and I can't uninstall it.
I've been using CS5 for the past three years, and contemplating getting Creative Cloud. The problem is, it looks like I didn't every properly register CS5 with my Adobe ID, the software package was a download from a thrid party seller, and the email account the sent all the registration info to is no longer in use. . .
When I try to use Application Manager to uninstall it just tells me I need application manager and gives me a link to Adobe's website to download it. I download it, install it, try again, same result, tells me I need to download it. . .
Frustrating.
Any help greatly appreciated, I'm currently completely stuck!

Hi, I recently installed windows 8 and afterwards my Adobe CS5 didn't work anymore. I tried to reinstall but I get a fatal error during the installing process. Can anyone help me?

CS5 is not officially tested and certified for Win 8. You may try compatibility modes and turning off al lsecurity stuff, but should be prepared that it may never work.

Installation/uninstall issues between CS4 and CS5

I had CS4 installed. I purchased CS5 (downloaded it) installed that. When I got the disks via mail, I tried to install that version (disk version). I started having issues as to which program would open a .prproj file. Often the CS4 version of Premiere Pro opened. Not what I wanted. I eventually uninstalled CS5 entirely and then reinstalled. Then things were working fine. However, I then tried to uninstall CS4. (I have seen from numerous posts/comments to leave both on -- which I really don't know why. Doesn't make sense to keep both versions). I prefer not to have an extra 4GB of space used for programs I am no longer using. However, in doing so, the uninstall didn't appear to do a perfect job. And now I can't double-click a .prproj file. This icon is also blank white. I went into Set Associations and I can't assign .prproj to Premiere CS5. In looking at the Open With window, I notice that some of the icons for other Adobe programs are all splewy (Adobe Encore is using the CS4 icon, Adobe Illustrator is using the PDF icon, Flash Catalyst is using the Air icon, etc.)
I could: a) uninstall everything, including Adobe Acrobat Pro (which I had purchased and installed prior to CS4 or CS5) and then reinstall everything -- sheesh that would take a while; or b) I could ask my friends here to explain and guide me!

I am not so positive that there is no difference between the download version vs the media version specifcially because in downloading the updates, the site demands you choose your update depending on how your software was installed. I figured that the download would be smaller. Perhaps you are right. And maybe it is the same, in either case, when I get a stack of disks, I tend to think there is more on the disk and the download version is merely the core applications.
Anyway, I had to uninstall everything CS4 and CS5 and then reinstall CS5. Oddly, this didn't automatically fix my problem. However, at least I was able to choose Premiere CS5 to open .prproj files and check off the box to use it as the default. (I wasn't able to before). So now it works!

Folio Producer Tools in both InDesign CS5 and CS5.5

Two versions installed (InDesign CS5 + CS5.5 - Win7-64Bits). I installed the Folio Producer Tools / Panel in both, but on version 5.5 "Extensions" menu does not appear. What is the solution to the problem?

You should not post your serial number. You need your DVD or Download the CS5 Premium Installer and install from either Download CS5 products

Will CS3 and CS5 run on new Macs?

I need to run Indesign and Photoshop in both CS3 AND CS5. Will they run on a new Mac Pro OS? Do I need Rosetta? I hear it will work on Lion OS 10.6, but not the upcoming Mountain Lion OS 10.7. True?

Having trouble Deactivating CS4 and CS5 Master Collection

I had the CS4 and CS5 Master Collection installed on my Macbook Pro and Mac Pro. I have recently reinstalled the OS and did not deactivate the software before I did this. How do I go about doing this so I can reinstall the software? The software serial number thinks that I already have the software installed because it has not been deactivated but I am just trying to reinstall it on the same computers since I wiped the hard drives.

If you're having problems reactivating your software, and have no way of deactivating its previous installation(s), then the only way to do it is to contact Adobe cust service / tech support, who with luck can work on it from their end.

Hi Bob thanks for your time. I have creative suite 5.I bought it with my student discount. I have the discs and even the number needed to validate that number but cant find the serial number.
The programme was working fine on my old pc but I need a human to contact to prove that I actually own it. There use to be a call centre that would validate this for me but it appears to have gone by the wayside.
Do you know of a phone number that can help?

Problem launching flash cs5 and cs5.5 on windows vista

Hello Every Body. I have a problem launching flash cs5 and cs5.5 on windows vista home premium edition. When i launch it, the register screen appears(the one that tells the trial time left) but the flash main window always stays black (or white)and is not responding. I had it working about one week ago and i can't figure out what is the problem .It tried reinstalling couple of times without succes. I also tried deleting the left flash cs5 program files after uninstall but it didn't work . I would need your advice. Here is the screen as it appears:

Problem is not in your windows 7 OS, since i was working CS4 and now i m working with CS5 in windows 7 only. And i feel more comfort with this new OS. May be you hardware configuration might not be support to new technology like windows 7 and Flash CS5. Beca it is need high hardward configuration
