Reinstall of windows XP
I have Lenovo 3000 h200 57098982 that is a couple years old and am having trouble reistalling windows XP. My machine went down with what at first I thought was a virus, but turned out to be bad RAM. I am trying to get windows reinstalled. I have a run lenovo product recovery CD-ROM that came with the machine, but am stuck. After running the recovery disk it asks for the service pack 2 disk. I downloaded service pack 2 ( which is a self extracting zipped file) and it is not recognized.
I have not been able to unzipped the file. It does not give me the option to unzip, only run it which does me no good since I am on a different machine.
7zip can just about open anything. I have even opened .EXE's before with it. http://www.7zip.com/

reinstalled my windows operating system and decided to put on windows 8. After loading all of my music back into a freshly installed itunes, my 4th gen ipod is not recognized by itunes. My 1st gen ipod nano works with no problem. I can eliminate any problems with the cable and connection.
I've stopped and started the service, and also have performed cold reboots.
Nothing seems to have helped the situation.

Have you tried on another computer to help determine if you have a computer or iPod problem?

What is the best way to reintroduce the backed up iTunes folder that contains my music collected in iTunes 10 after doing a clean reinstall of Windows 7 and thereafter installing iTunes 11. It's more than just uninstalling Itunes; there are 5 other apps that have to be uninstalled and in specific order. This particular Knowledge Base article applies to Windows Vista or Windows 7. For other Windows versions you'd have to look up the article for Windows XP.

Sorry. Sync isn't really intended as a backup medium as you were trying to use it for. It isn't meant to be a storage "cloud". It's purpose is to keep Firefox bookmarks synchronized across multiple Firefox installations or Profiles - so all your bookmarks are the same on each device / Profile.

I have Windows 7 Home Premium installed in my 13 inch Macbook Pro via Bootcamp.
I may need to wipe out all the data on the bootcamp partition and reinstall Windows 7 one day, so how exactly do I do it?

You have to boot from the DVD. Put it in the optical drive, then shut down the laptop. Immediately after powering it on tap the Esc key. From the menu tap F9 Boot options. Use the arrow key to move down and highlight/select the CD/DVD drive, the tap Enter.

I have to reinstall my windows, but Im using an adobe pack (ps, id, ai, etc.) that I've downloaded by creative cloud. I worry about could I download and install applications again from Creative cloud without any trouble? Could you share your experieces? THX a lot.
KrisztinaBefore you remove anything you should sign out of the Creative Cloud so that it is reset for you when you reinstall and sign in again.

If you haven't already done these steps, this section contains information that might help your situation, as the order and manner which you uninstall has an effect on the outcome:
Use the Control Panel to uninstall iTunes and related software components in the following order and then restart your computer:
iTunes
Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support
Bonjour
Apple Application Support (iTunes 9 or later)
Important: Uninstalling these components in a different order, or only uninstalling some of these components may have unintended affects.
Let us know if following that article and uninstalling those components in that order helped the situation.

Last night my boyfriend did a reinstall of our old desktop which runs Windows XP. He did not do a back up of ITunes or the libary just whiped everything. I am afraid that if I Sync my ITouch I will lose all of my music and movies etc... since the ITouch wont recognize the computer. I have backed everything up onto the ICloud but my sysytem is so old I cant run IClooud on my desktop.I have already downloaded the newest version of ITunes onto the desktop and "Authorized" the new computer and logged into the ITunes account. But need more info before I want to plug my ITouch into it. I did this once before and lost all of my movies and music so this time I am asking before jumping in with both feet.

Backup the device to the new installation
Transfer your purchases into a newly authorized library
Recover any other media using third party tools as suggested in this post from forum regular Zevoneer
Restore the device from the backup
This process should switch the association of the device to the new library, preserving the data and settings in your apps.
May also be prudent to attempt a backup to iCloud directly from the device before you start... Settings > iCloud > Storage & Backup > iCloud Backup > On. It won't save any media but it would preserve the general account settings and documents in case anything goes wrong while you are trying to extract your other data.
When you get it all fixed, make a backup!
