I updated to the most current version of iTunes and now it won't open. My computer is older so thinking it may be "too much"...can I reinstall the older verison?

Previous version can be found here.

  • Reinstall Older Version of Server

I updated my computer and Server got updated to OS X Server. I now can't access anything in my server. I need to know if there is anyway
I can uninstall this version (the update) and reinstall the older version. Or if there is any other way to fix my problem. I primarily need to to replace the data volume, but it will have to be done via the terminal since I can't access it through server. Are there any other ways I can get this done?

I can't help you. But when I upgraded my hardware I wasn't happy with 10.10 server, so I wanted to downgrade the server OS on my new hardware.
The newer hardware wouldn't allow me to put any OS on that came before the OS that was preinstalled so I wasn't able to downgrade.
    Good luck!

  • Delete itunes reinstall older version

    delete itunes reinstall older version

Here is some instruction to completely reinstall iTunes/quicktime
You must have quicktime to use iTunes
Note: Songs you purchased from the iTunes Store or imported from CDs are saved in your My Music folder by default and are not deleted by removing iTunes.
    Quit iTunes.
On the Start menu, click Control Panel.
In Control Panel, open Add or Remove Programs.
Select iTunes from the list of currently installed programs, then click Remove.
When asked if you would like to remove iTunes, select Yes.
After the uninstallation is complete, do not restart if you are prompted to.
If other entries were present for iTunes remove those as well.
In Add or Remove Programs, remove any iPod Updater applications that are listed in the same fashion as iTunes was removed.
In Add or Remove Programs, remove any QuickTime installations that are listed in the same fashion as iTunes was removed.
    Restart your computer.
After the computer restarts, open Local Disk C: in My Computer or whichever disk programs are installed on.
    Open the Program Files folder.
Right-click the iTunes folder and select Delete and choose Yes when asked to confirm the deletion. Note: This folder may have already been deleted if iTunes was successfully removed in steps 1-8.
Right click the iPod folder and select Delete and choose Yes when asked to confirm the deletion.
Right-click the QuickTime folder and select Delete and choose Yes when asked to confirm the deletion.
Delete the QuickTime and QuicktimeVR files located in the C:\Windows\system32\ folder.
Right-click on the Recycle Bin and on the shortcut menu, click Empty Recycle Bin.
    Restart your computer.
Install the latest version of iTunes from http://www.apple.com/itunes/download.

  • Reinstalling older version of itunes

Yes, I am one of the unlucky who jumped on upgrading itunes and having crash problems. How can I install older version? I tried (filehippo.com) but it failed because I have the newest version. If I uninstall itunes in order to reinstall, will I lose my library? (this cannot happen, lol.) I loaded ewido and stand alone of quicktime, cleared files and cookies and still having probs. sigh Thanks, Mis

Realize that the older versions of iTunes may not read the Library database file created by more recent versions (the 'iTunes Library.itl' file).
You should not lose your PC music files, but your Library database may be unreadable. This file contains Ratings, Play Cpounts, Playlists, and Last Played attributes.
Make sure you make a complete backup of your Library information. These are the files you need (not all may be useful in a downgrade, though):
    1) All music files in their current folder structure (usually located in and under the ‘iTunes Music’ folder)
    2) The Library database file: ‘iTunes Library.itl’ located in the ‘iTunes’ folder
    3) The Library XML file: ‘iTunes Music Library.xml’ located in the ‘iTunes’ folder
    4) Any XML playlist files you created for Playlist retention
    5) The two iTunes.pref files (optional)
    -- C:\Documents and Settings\<your username>\Application Data\Apple Computer\iTunes\iTunes.pref
    -- C:\Documents and Settings\<your username>\Local Settings\Application Data\Apple Computer Inc\iTunes.pref
    6) The XML file of Ratings, Play Counts and Last Played attributes saved from the main Library and created by Otto’s SaveRatings script (also optional, but recommended):
“Download this: http://ottodestruct.com/itunes/SaveRatings.zip . It's a program, just run it like any other program. Run it on the machine where you're copying the info from BEFORE you move the files to the new machine. Click the "Save Ratings" button and it'll create a ratings.xml file. Now when you move the files, move the program and this file as well. Then after you make your new iTunes library, run it again and click the "Restore Ratings" button. Voila, all your information is back in the Library. Well, most of it anyway, it's not perfect. It'll tell you what songs it couldn't figure out though, and there's usually not very many.”

  • What happened. Running windows 8.1 adobe did an update to latest reader version and broke it. now cannot reinstall older version.  r

Adobe updated reader to latest version and broke it.  tried everything on the adobe troubleshooting guide.  uninstalled with intent to install older version, but now that won't even work.  Old version was working fine- now I cannot access any of my .pdf files.  trying to get work done - totally frustrated and disgusted.

If you are in Windows -which you haven't said- you can try using this tool to first remove all traces of Reader from your computer:
    http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/acrobatcleaner.html
Then, you can download the full offline Reader installer from
    http://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise/
After downloading, restart your computer and run the installer before doing anything else.

Google Toolbar doesn't support newer versions of Firefox because Google decided that its functionality was mostly built into Firefox itself now or otherwise available via a Firefox addon:

Note that Firefox 4 is not supported by Mozilla anymore. To get the required security and stability updates, users need to install the later Firefox updates (currently Firefox 7..0.1).

  • Reinstall older version of game

Can you install an older version of a game on iPad?  My dad updated his favorite game - HEARTS - and he doesn't like the newer version.  Is there anyway to get the older version back?

If you currently have a copy of the older version, put it into an iTunes library and sync it to the device. If not, only if the older one is the latest compatible release with a device you have.

  • Reinstalling older version CS6

I miss the Print View option in PS CS6 update13.0.4
Can I swap out the existing version with an older 13.0.1 from my other computer?
Is it more appropriate to unisntall and reinstall from Adobe Installer 6.0.335.0? I'm concerned that this may inadvertently exceed my allowed number of installations (2).

Yes, use the uninstaller to remove your updated PS, then reinstal lthe base version. If you have problems, use the Creative Suite Cleaner Tool. Reinstalling on teh same system doesn't do anything to the activation, but feel free to use the pertinent deactivation/ activation procedures if you feel more safe that way.

  • Need to reinstall older version of CS

I had to wipe my hard-drive and need to reinstall CS 5.5 Design Premium. Where I can find a copy of this software to download so I can reinstall my CS?
    Thanks,
    William

William if you choose the download option at the time of purchase then please see http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1006208?tstart=0&promoid=KBHJQ for information on how to download your purchased Adobe software.
If you did not choose the download option then you should have the installation files on a DVD which came with your purchase.  If you are no longer able to locate the installation DVD then please see http://forums.adobe.com/thread/981369 for information on how to download older Adobe software.

  • Itunes 7.3 does not open and i can't reinstall older versions

the software upgrade made me download the last itunes version but it does not open (apparently i have an old version of macosx) and since then i can not use itunes. the old versions do not install. how could i reinstall itunes on my computer

ayeee! I'm in exactly the same place: I am stuck with a new download of iTunes 7.3, which I cannot open.
And I'm scared: if i download the upgrade on the operating system, will i LOSE all my tunes from iTunes -- or are they hidden somewhere? (they better not be lost, or i'll cry a river!0
    i'm on a powerbook 10.4.6 ...
and this whole stupid thing only happened because i couldn't get vids i'd bought to play on my iTunes... so i followed the instructions to upgrade my quicktime player ... and once i HAD upgraded my quicktime player (for $30!!!) i couldn't use it, cause my operating system was old (as in: i bought this computer 9 months ago!)... and so then i thought, "gee, maybe if i uprade my iTunes, the expensive new quicktime pro will work, and i can actually see the videos I bought!"
    it's like a giant catch-22.... ayeeeee! help!

My ITunes got corrupted and I kept getting a message when updating iTunes64msi missing so I uninstalled all files and I thought I removed all registry values but  when reinstalling I get an older version is installed and cannot be removed. I need a solution.

    (1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):
    http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459
    (2) Doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (If you're on a Windows Vista or Windows 7 system and you get a Code 800A0046 error message when doubleclicking the msicuu2.exe file, try instead right-clicking on the msicuu2.exe file and selecting "Run as administrator".)
    (3) In your Start menu click All Programs and then click Windows Install Clean Up. The Windows Installer CleanUp utility window appears, listing software that is currently installed on your computer.
    (4) In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any Bonjour entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
    (5) Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

  • How do I reinstall an older version of Aperture from the App Store?

    Hello,
I have an older Macbook - 13 inch early 2008. It is still running fine on 10.7.5 Lion, but can't update to a later version of OS X, as it is not compatible. I have Aperture 3.4.5, which I purchased from the App Store.
Following a hard disk problem, I've reinstalled the laptop, used software update to get all the latest patches, and have recovered my files and applications from my Time Machine Backup. Unfortunately, Aperture is no longer able to open files from my Sony Nex camera ("Unsupported Image Format" message") even though it worked before I rebuilt my Mac, and is listed as supported under Aperture 3.4.5. I've done all of the "Repair permissions", "repair database" and "Rebuild Database" things, but it hasn't helped.
I've tried to fix this by removing Aperture (in case my Time Machine backup version is in some way corrupted) and reinstalled from the App Store, but the App Store won't let me have Aperture anymore, even though I've paid for it, because my system is no longer compatible with the current version, 3.5. I can't see a way of downloading a full copy of the older version compatible with my system. I can see updates for Aperture listed at http://support.apple.com/downloads/#aperture, including Aperture 3.4.5, but these require a copy of Aperture 3.0 or later already installed to update, and even if I run the 3.4.5 update, it tells me it won't work because my copy of Aperture is from the App store.
Can anyone help me find a way of navigating the App Store or Apple web site to get the copy of Aperture 3.4.5 I have licensed from Apple?
    Many thanks.

    @léonie
Thanks for your help with this. I've downloaded the latest RAW support updates supported on my machine - V4.09 that seems to contain all of the RAW formats for previous updated including V4.06, which includes the NEX 3N, my camera. After a short while (there seemed to be some sort of background processing ging on in Aperture) it started to allow my NEX 3N photos to be viewed. Some of the thumbnails were corrupted, but if I made a slight edit in each of these files, the thumbnails updated and all was well.
Prior to this, I raised a call with Apple, because the inability to reinstall software from the App Store that I've purchased from in App Store to a machine that supports OSX 10.7.5 and no later strikes me as a problem. I need to know that if my Time Machine backup fails and I need to reinstall, I've got somewhere I can go.
The support people at Apple were very helpful, and it feels like they recognise this as a problem, and are working to resolve it behind the scenes. The App Store will not allow me to download the last version that works on my machine at the moment, but it sounds like Apple is thinking about how to do this. In the meantime, they are shipping me a copy of Aperture 3.0 on CD, and sending me a registration code. This will solve my immediate problem.
This does make me wary about using the App Store for purchases in the future. I don't upgrade my hardware that frequently - I have no real need to as it just keeps working - and so not having physical copies of installation media for when the applications stop supporting my OS is a worry. On the face of it, maintaining prior versions of the software for older machines to download from the App Store seems like a reasonable solution, but they are not there yet, and there is no real commitment for them to do this. Anyone who doesn't back up their Apps in Time Machine (probably the majority of users) could loose them altogether when Apple moves on, and cuts app support for older OS versions.
Thanks to @léonie and @Frank Cagianno for your help.
