Reinstall osx mavericks & creative cloud

I am about to reinstall osx mavericks on my mac. Will creative cloud remember what extensions i have (paid or free) & any fonts i have synced?
Also the sync feature i presume will keep all my preferences?
Thanks in advance

That's not quite the proper way as far as I can tell. Usually, one boots directly into the Recovery HD using COMMAND and R keys at startup. If you cannot do that then most likely there is a problem with the hard drive. Since this is a new computer i would make a Genius Appointment and take it in for service.

  • White screen of Death. Reinstalled OSX Maverick but data is missing. HELP!

Help! i had a white screen of death on my iMac. Did a check via disk utility and the hard drive seems to be fine. I have partioned the hard drive into two volumes previously.
However, when I tried to reinstall OSX Maverick on the first partition, where it was originally installed, it was pointed out as being full and I was forced to reinstall it on the second partition. No problem with that.
However, when I start up the iMac, there are no files to be found. And this is really very upsetting to me as they contain memories of my family which I really treasure.
Am I doing anything wrong?  When I go in to the set up utility and try to select partition 1, it will still give me the white screen of death and that the disk is full
Kindly advise if there is anyway for me to "force" install it on partiton 1 and regain access to my files.

If you reinstalled onto the second partition and used the same username/password combo for your admin user account, then you can boot into the voluime, open up the original volume, and drag your data from it to the same places on the second volume. To reinstall, you need to remove stuff from the full volume.

  • OSX: Adobe Creative Cloud unable to update (stall at 50%)

    Hey experts,
ever since signing up for Creative Cloud I have been unable to update any application as my regular user on OSX. After exchanging 23 emails with the Adobe support in 2013 I finally gave up and created a workaround in the hope that the Adobe developers would finally look into the issue and fix the bug. With the last update of Creative Cloud my workaround stopped working so I took time to do a complete reinstallation of Creative Cloud to see if the bug was finally fixed. It was not.
    The bug:
-Installation of Creative Cloud and Photoshop, Lightroom etc. through the Creative Cloud app works.
-Any try to update a CC applicaton (e. g. Photoshop CC 2014 results in the state "waiting" at 50%):
-Trying to update through the menu of Adobe Photoshop CC 2014 "Aktualisierungen"
resulted in the following error message:
Translation: "Update failed. Unable to apply updates. Adobe Application manager is already running. Close all instances of Adobe Application Manager before applying updates. etc."
What I tried to resolve the problem:
    What did not work:
    -Complete reinstallation of Creative Cloud:
         -Uninstall of all Adobe applications
-Ran the Adobe CC Cleaner tool
-Eliminated every single *[Aa]dobe*-folder on my disk including my profile.
         -Reboot
-Re-installation using a fresh CC download.
-The common 1st-level-support acts of desperation:
         -Rebooting
         -Checking the file system
         -Fixing permissions
-The bug even survived 2 OSX system upgrades
-Even tried to track down the bug myself which I gave up after having discovered the endless chain of Creative Cloud and AAM-Processes executing each other...
    What worked:
-Installing updates as another OSX user. (Which is cumbersome and to be honest I am unwilling to create a new profile and redoing the settings of all installed (especially non-Adobe) applications because of an Adobe bug...)
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

  • Adobe Creative Cloud app, Mac OSX, "The Creative Cloud installation is no longer functioning..."

    OS: 10.9.4
For about 2+ weeks I've been getting the following message in the Creative Cloud App:
    Download Error
The Creative Cloud installation is no longer working
uninstall and download again from http...
I've searched through various discussions and followed every suggestion I had come across, including:
    Uninstalled/reinstalled Creative Cloud
Renamed files in the following directories:
    ~/Library/Applications support/Adobe/OOBE
    /Library/Applications support/Adobe/OOBE
    ~/Library/Applications support/Adobe/AAMUpdater
    /Library/Applications support/Adobe/AAMUpdater
    Deleted files in above-listed directories.
Checked all network settings including proxy, DNS, etc.
Logged in as myself, I launched Creative Cloud as root (sudo /path/to/app)
Between each step I uninstalled/reinstalled the Creative Cloud app. The logs (in ~/Library/Logs/) don't show any major issues, other than claiming that a preference file can't be read. I tried deleting all preferences related to ACC and the log continued to show the same message.
Any suggestions outside of the standard list of fixes would be most welcome, at this point I'm ready to cancel my CC subscription, I feel Adobe made a big mistake by changing to this format. When it works, it's great, but when it doesn't it causes loss of productivity and immense frustration.

Tried this with no success. Although, your mention of permissions led me to launching Disk Utility and repairing permissions. I then noticed my hard drive had a failing S.M.A.R.T. status. I swapped out the hard drive and restored from Time Machine backup, repaired permissions, uninstalled Creative Cloud, repaired permissions again and removed all files mentioned in my original post. I then reinstalled and: still get the same dang error! This is ridiculously frustrating.

  • Reinstalling program from Creative Cloud if they stop working

I have Windows 8 on my pc.  I had previously installed the Creative Cloud app.  I had also installed Premiere Pro, Muse, and Lightroom.  Some sort of a problem happened with my system.  Perhaps I accidentally turned off the computer before the hard drive had completed all of its tasks, or something like that.
Programs I had installed from discs seem to work.  But, all of the Windows apps that were downloaded from the cloud stopped working.  I was able to fix that by downloading them again. Windows seems to be working okay now.  Also, Lightroom downloaded from the cloud works.  Premiere Pro and Muse don't work.  I suppose the best approach is to reinstall them, but I don't seem to be able to do that with the Creative Cloud app.  Do I need to first uninstall them through the Windows Control Panel?  I'm a little concerned about doing that because there isn't a way to deactivate them, since I can't get into the programs.  what do you suggest?
    Thanks for your help.
    Rebecca

    Hi 1117bec,
Thanks for your post. Please uninstall the application from control panel/Programs and features and then re-install them. Also, if you see in the creative clous app that Premiere pro is already installed then try to log out and login again to Creative clous application. Please update if you have any further issues or query.

  • How to reinstall Lightroom for Creative Cloud from Application Manager

Lightroom would not launch from the Lightroom icon, so I tried to locate Lightroom and start it start it from my list of programs. Seemed to be a problem and still wouldn't start. I then removed Lightroom from Control Panel by "Add, Remove Programs". I wrongly presumed this would change the status in Adobe Application Manager from "installed".
Please advise how I can re-install Lightroom with my Creative Cloud Membership. I think it would have been much easier to have a re-install button next to the product for situations like this, as the Application Manager doesn't seem to recognise uninstalled programs.
Any help would be appreciated.  Also, please advise what I should do if this happens again, if different from what I mentioned above.
    Thanks,
    Julie

It should. What specific error did you get with your LR? For anything else you might try running the Creative Suite Cleaner Tool and let it reinstall things...

  • How can I reinstall apps via Creative Cloud?

Unfortunately I deleted three of my apps, and I can´t find any possibility to reinstall them. Would be happy if someone can help me. Have massive amounts of work waiting.
    Maya:)

    Hi Maya,
Please refer the article: CC desktop lists applications as "Up to Date" when not installed if apps are showing up to date if not installed. If still the same issue then you may follow the below mentioned:
    Windows:
    1. Uninstall CC desktop from Control Panel.
    2. Navigate to C/Program Files(X86)/Common Files/Adobe and rename OOBE/CAPS/Backup.
    3. Install CC desktop and try to download/install apps.
    Mac:
    1. Applications/utilities/Adobe Installers and uninstall CC desltop
    2. Navigate to Library/Application Support/Adobe and rename OOBE/CAPS/Backup.
    3. Install CC desktop and try to download/install apps.
Additionally refer the article for install instructions: Creative Cloud Help | Install, update, or uninstall apps.
Please let us know whether it worked.

  • Reinstalling InDesign (not creative cloud version)

I purchased InDesign before creative cloud and need to reinstall it on my new hard drive. It says my serial number is invalid.

If you get that again, insist that you talk to their supervisor.

  • I downloaded Indesign, and it failed. i uninstalled and now can't reinstall from the Creative Cloud

    How can in reinstall Indesign?

    Thanks Eugene;
I am on a brand new macbook pro.  I downloaded Indesign from the creative cloud as well as photoshop.  photoshop works fine but when i opened ID, i recieved an error that said "installation failed, please uninstall/reinstall.
So I uninstalled it from my computer.  When i went back to the creative cloud, it showed that i had already installed the app, and it was up to date, so there was no way to reinstall it.

  • Approx 50% of Windows Clients have to Reinstall to Upgrade Creative Cloud

Various windows platforms (Windows XP but primarily 7). About 1/2 of them fail to upgrade the Creative Cloud product. I have to use the cleaner to remove it, then reinstall fresh. On Every update!
All I can really find online is that "yes, this is a problem and this is how you get around it (by cleaning and reinstalling)". WAY to time intensive.
    Suggestions?

I wrongly presumed this would change the status in Adobe Application Manager from "installed".
