Reinstall problem.  Files missing in Adobe App. Support Folder.

When I start up Photoshop in CS2, it says that one or more files in the Adobe Application Support folder are missing and I need to run the PS installer and reinstall.  But when I try to do that from the installer CD, it won't let me click on the PS box (or any of the other boxes, for that matter) to reinstall it.  (It also shows that Version Cue is already installed, but none of the other programs are, which they are, because I can use them.)  Help, please!

Keep in mind that CS2 is not supported in Leopard.
as far as the missing files this should help. http://forums.adobe.com/thread/370710?tstart=0
there is also a CS3 clean script. Flash MX should not stop CS3 from installing.

  • Files missing from Adobe Applications support folder

I now receive this message when starting Photoshop CC:  One or more files in the Adobe Applications Support folder, necessary for running Photoshop, are missing.  Please run the Photoshop installer and re-install Photoshop.  After looking through some older posts on this, it looks like there is a way to just replace the missing folder.  I need help on what is the most current and best way to fix this problem.  I am running an iMac with OS X 10.8.5.  I did just uninstall CS4 from my machine this morning.  I am not sure if this plays a roll.

You said there was an error (indicating missing files and that you need to reinstall), then you say it crashes.  Well, which is it?  And if there is a crash, what does the detailed crash report say?

  • One or more files in the Adobe Application Support folder...

Upon opening Photoshop CS5 I have the following message displayed on the screen. I have uninstalled and re-installed Photoshop but it did not make a difference., the message keeps showing up. It is getting annoying and I have no idea which files are missing. Anyone know how to fix this? I am copying the message here:
One or more files in the Adobe Application Support folder, necessary for running Photoshop, are missing.  Please run the Photoshop installer and re-install Photoshop.

It's not a systemic problem, no.  Photoshop CS5 can certainly run without an error message.
Was it working without the error message on your system at one time?
Have you made any changes to the files supplied as part of Photoshop?
An uninstall (possibly via the Creative Suite Cleaner Tool) followed by a reinstall will probably get you working again.

  • Adobe Application Support folder missing files

When I start up my Photoshop CS5.1 on my Mac I get an Adobe Photoshop Screen that says "One or more files in the Adobe application Support folder, necessary for running Photoshop, are missing.  Please run the Photoshop installer and re-install Photoshop."
I have done the reinstall but I still get this message.
    Thoughts?

  • Do I need to worry about Adobe Application Support Folder?

Running Photoshop CS5 standard on Mac (snow leopard) on top of Photoshop CS4.  Ran into some problems with Adobe Bridge and thinking there might be a conflict between the two Photoshop versions I uninstalled Photoshop CS4 (apparently not smart).  Now on launching Photoshop CS5 a window appears with warning something like: missing files in Adobe Application Support Folder, use Photoshop installer to re-install PhotoshopCS5. Tech support tells me to deactivate Photoshop CS5 then uninstall it and reinstall from the Web where I downloaded it in the first place.
Questions:  Should I care about this at all?  How about reinstalling Photoshop CS4 (I have the disc)?  Can I just download the Adobe Application Support Folder?
I undated CS5 just now but it didn't fix the "problem".

That is very sound advice.  Do it.

Yes, unless you don't want to run any Adobe applications any more.

It probably won't even let you install CS4 over CS5.  You would have to uninstall CS5 first.

Nope; there's nowhere you could "download it" from.
Just follow the advice of Tech Support.

  • Help highlighting in downloaded files in new Adobe app

i opened Acrobat and I see there's a new verision and things look different then the previous version.  my documents that I have downloaded are still showing but I can't highlight the information in the file like I did before.  Any ideas if I can do this or should I download information in another program?

"new Adobe app"  - This is  Adobe Acrobat Reader DC?
With this app displaying an open PDF you'll observe an icon in the upper left.
Tap it. A menu pane displays. One choice is for comments. Tap it.
The Comment annotation tool bar displays at the bottom.
    Select the Highlight tool.
Drag over the characters you want highlighted.
    Be well...

  • "AdobeFnt13.lst" file missing in the document fonts folder

    Hello,
I have a bug with Indesign CS5, the "AdobeFnt13.lst" file is now missing in my document fonts folders, even after reinstall of ID.
I deleted the Preferences folder, font cache etc. nothing works so far.
    An idea someone ?

    YES !
    It's solved now.
In fact I had a bug with the colour panel a week before this problem and I reinstalled ID a first time (back to the 7.0 version).
I didn't know about this patch.
    Thank you very much !

  • Error 'one or more files from adobe applications support folder are missing' PS CC 2014 running on OSX

Please help. I have just installed OSX to be able to upgrade my Adobe CC to 2014. Now each time I try to use PS CC 2014 or PS CS5, it crashes.
I tried to uninstall CS3, thinking lightening the load would help. Now I keep getting this message each time I try to open PS CS5 or PS CC 2014. What could be my problem? Thank you for any help.

  • Upgrade problems - files missing in site after the upgrade

    gurus,
i upgraded the webdb 2.2 to portal 3.0. when i went to the portal site, i found that in one folder some of the documents were missing. what i mean by the missing is, the document title was present in the folder but not as a link. it was there as a static text. under normal circumstances the user would click the link and open up the link (can be anything *.doc, *.pdf, *.xls etc.) but, i could not do so because there was static text instead of link.
has anyone had a similar problem ?
    pls reply.
    thanx a lot

    Hi,
I am experiencing the same problems, some of the items are inacccessible, the path to these items are weird after the upgrade to portal 306.
    Here is an example:
The path of an item may look like
    /folder/rootfolder/rootfolder/rootfoler/market/summary.doc
there are so many rootfolders out there, assume rootfolder is the content area name.
If I manually remove these redundant rootfolders, I can load these items individually.

  • I have up loaded a file from the adobe app on my cellphone to my account, and I don't know where it is when I log in to my account on my computer

Where is the filed saved? how do I acceses it from my computer? I want to print it.

The chances that it's a virus on your iPad or iPhone is very slim. Who is your mail provider? it's far more likely that your address has been spoofed and it's your mail service that has been compromised not your iDevice. I know my Yahoo mail was hacked and people in my address book received spam mails that I didn't send.
have you changed the address on your e-mail account?

  • Help ! lost FCP app support folder ?

    Hi there,
I might be lookin in the wrong place....
but if I look into home/users/myname/library/application support/final Cut Studio
I don't find any folder other than" DVD Studio Pro"," Motion", "Patches", "Shapes"
    Is that right ? ???
Shouldn't have a FCP folder in there too ?
or am I looking in the wrong place ?
If I am in the right place and miss something, how can I get install it again ?
    Many thanks in advance
    Ivan

    Thanks David,
I was at the wrong place, obviously.
I have now found the proper plugin folder and I have put Andy's plugin in it.
I don't see it right away under "effects"in my open project.  Does it mean that I must restart FCP ?
(Since my FCP is presently sending a file to compressor I can't restart right away).
    Thanks again
    Ivan

  • Share files from the Library/Application Support folder between user accounts?

I am using Mac OS 10.10.2, and am having trouble with allowing my son's user account to see his Minecraft files which are on my user account (User/Library/Application Support/Minecraft)   how do I make it so that Minecraft will find and use these files rather than the empty folder on his own user account?
    thanks!

Thank you! I should have thought of that. So, what I actually did was go into finder, "get info" on the Minecraft folder, and check the "share folder" box in the info window.  I was then able to open his saved worlds on his account, and doing it this way will mean any changes to them can be accessed from my account as well.
    Thanks again!

  • Can't find extensions folder under Bridge CC App support folder

Trying to be able to make contact sheets in Bridge CC instead of Photoshop and can't because there is no extensions folder under Bridge CC to copy the file to.

and can't because there is no extensions folder under Bridge CC to copy the file to.
Yes there is but you have to read the instructions carefully and choose the right library. For more detailed help just provide more details about system and versions.

  • Missing files in Adobe application support CS5.1

Why do I get this error message when I start CS5?
One or more files in the Adobe Application Support folder, necessary for running Photoshop, are missing.  Please run the Photoshop installer and re-install Photoshop.
New install on new iMac and worked fine until I uninstalled CS4 using uninstall app. Reinstalled CS5 but still happens. Any help would be appreciated.

Unfortunately, the Adobe uninstallers have a habit of messing with newer versions, as often there's no way to distinguish old application support files from new ones.
Ideally, you should uninstall older versions first if you don't want them on your computer, then install the new version.  I have Photoshop 7.0.1 through 11.0.2 happily coexisting on my machine.  I can even run two versions of Photoshop simultaneously, just by launching the older version first.
