Reinstall ps cc after hard disk broken

I have to change the hard disk on my pc and can't recover the files. How coul'd reinstall photoshop cc? Now I'm using the second licence on my notebook.

sign in with your adobe id and start downloading onto your new harddrive, https://creative.adobe.com/
when you start to activate on a 3rd computer, you will be prompted to sign out from your other two cc activations (including the one on your damaged hd), thereby maintaining your two (usable) activations.

  • Reinstall Photoshop Elements 6 after Hard Disk upgrade on MacBook

    Hi
I am trying to reinstall Photoshop elements after upgrading HD on macbook 2.1 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo. OS 10.5.8, 2.5 Gb Ram using SuperDuper 2.1. Tried running the transferred copy of P.E.6 --> hangs while trying to initialize menus
After searching forums for suggestions I have tried the following
1 use adobe installer to uninstall old copy of P.E.6
    2 removed /library/Application Support/Adobe~
    3. Use Apple Disk Utilities to repair permissions
Reinstalled new copy of P.E.6 (downloaded from Adobe.Com)
On starting P.E.6 - goes thru first set of initialization OK
then hangs while trying to initialize menus (spinning beachball)
Also installed on a Power Mac Dual 2GHz PowerPC G5 (P.E.6 has not been installed before)
    - P.E.6 works on this machine
    any help greatly appreciated

    Created a new user (admin)
    uninstall and re-install PE6
    still no go
does it check the serial number as I have another copy(using same serial number) running on PowerMac G5 (as a test) on the same network?

It is not clear if you understand what that message is indicating.  It is telling you that you need to identify the older version of whatever CS5.5 upgrade you are installing to prove that you qualify for the upgrade.  This could be CS5, CS4, etc.

  • Restoring my computer after hard disk replacement

My iMac hard disks were corrupt and new hard disks were installed today. I now need to restore my computer. The computer is currently going through the process of installing OSX mountain Lion 10.8 and I have a Time machine backup that I want to then import from my time capsule.
My time capsule has the back up from my old hard disks which operated on the latest version of OSX 10.9 Mavericks. Should I upgrade the iMac to 10.9 mavericks before using migration assistant it import the time machine backup, or will it be okay to simply start the migration assistant from within 10.8?
I am pretty confused and nervous - the apple support phone service told me to simply restore the time machine backup from disk utility, but this  failed and I subsequently read that this was wrong advice as the backup was from a different computer(ie my old hard disks). I am now desperate to get my computer back working again after a nightmare few weeks of logic board replacement and now hard disk replacement.
    Any advice would be appreciated.

It would not be a good idea to restore from the time machine backup, because if your HD was corrupted before it was replaced, then the backups are probably corrupted too. If you try to restore by migrating from that backup, you'll just put corrupted files on your new HD.
The best thing to do would be to:
    finish the ML installation
download the Mavericks installer and install Mavericks.
figure out what document files you want to save that are on your TM backup, and copy them to your new HD (not by migration).
reformat (erase) the TM hard drive
    reinstall your apps from scratch
once you have everything up and running, then make a new TM backup.
I installed a new HD in my Macbook Pro last year, and I did a clean install like this. It does take a bit more effort but it's worth it. Seems to work better, faster, cleaner, without any problems.
How did your Mac get "corrupted"? This is often due to bad/old/incompatible software, particularly junk like MacKeeper or CleanMyMac, or other worthless, overpriced, completely unnecessary "cleaning" or "maintenance" or "optimizing" applications garbage. If you have anything like this on your Mac, don't even think about reinstalling it.
One thing that I found useful after a few "clean installs" with my Macs was to make a list first of everything that you want to reinstall on your mac, including passwords, essential apps, printer drivers, documents, and the like. Once you start doing the reinstalls it can get confusing so having a list first can keep you on track.

  • How do I restore my 27" mid-2011 iMac EXACTLY the way it was after hard disk replacement?

    Hi all.
Recently received an email from Apple saying that the 1TB Seagate hard drive in my 27" mid-2011 iMac is apt to fail anytime. Apparently they used some bad hard drives in the mid-2011 27" iMacs which are problematic so they're offering me a free replacement to a brand new hard drive. I'll be sending in my iMac for the replacement sometime in the next few days.
In preparation for it, I've backed up my entire system using Time Machine into an external harddrive. The backup is up to date & includes all system files. I've also made a Lion install disk on an 8GB USB flash/pen drive using Carbon Copy Cloner.
My question is: When I get my iMac back after the hard disk replacement, will I be able to restore my iMac to EXACTLY the way it was before the replacement using the Time Machine backup & the Lion install disk that I've prepared? When I mean EXACTLY, I do mean EXACTLY, e.g I don't have to re-install all the programs I have, my settings for the programs I have will stay intact, everything is where it should be etc...i.e EXACTLY the way my iMac is right now.
If yes, how do I do it? I've read Pondini's guide: http://pondini.org/TM/14.html
However it is less than clear on certain points, e.g in my case, which one do I have to use to restore my system to the way it was...the Time Machine backups I have on the external HDD or the Lion install disk that I made using Carbon Copy Cloner? And how do I go about doing the restore?
I'd appreciate any & all help given. Thanks in advance!

baltwo: Thanks for your input! I didn't think of wiping the old HDD before sending it in for the replacement..all those sensitive user data! One question: What's a FWHD?
Already answered. Just note that FW is much faster than USB. See http://help.bombich.com/kb/troubleshooting/how-long-should-the-clone-or-backup-t ake for details.
I already have CCC installed so I'll probably try it out. Are the steps outline here the one that I should do to restore the CCC clone when I get my Mac with the new HDD back? See: http://help.bombich.com/kb/overview/restoring-data-from-your-backup#full_volume_ restore
    Yes.
Another question: while I'm booted on the backup/clone, and just after I've wiped the old HDD, how do I reinstall the OS to create a generic user account? Will I have to use a Lion install USB disk?
No. IIRC (if I remember correctly), you can either use a saved Lion installer (hopefully it exists on your backup/clone) or use the Recovery HD. If you have the USB stick w/Lion installer on it, use that.

  • Music Files Deleted After Hard Disk Failure and First Sync After Hard Disk

    Hi,
I recently had a hard disk failure and lost all of the data on my hard drive. I replaced the hard drive and reinstalled all of the software including iTunes. I am running Windows XP Home. The first time I plugged my iPod Nano into my computer after the hard drive replacement it synced to iTunes and since iTunes had no music files it deleted all of the music files on my Nano. How do I get them back and why on earth would iTunes do such a stupid thing??? My Nano contained many songs that I bought from iTunes and I want to get them back. I have found some third party software that will undelete the deleted files but it costs $69. I don't feel that I should have to pay to correct a defective feature in iTunes. Does Apple have an undelete utility? Can I redownload the songs that I purchased from iTunes?

*The first time I plugged my iPod Nano into my computer after the hard drive replacement it synced to iTunes*
When you connected did you get a message that your iPod was linked to another library, and then press Erase and Sync? When an iPod is set to update automatically and you connect to a computer with an empty iTunes and accept the message above it will erase the originals completely (as you have discovered). Also as you've seen, none of the recovery programs are particularly cheap so you have to decide if in your particular circumstances it's worth it to get your songs back. It may be if you have a lot of purchased tracks which you will have to pay to download again. If they came primarily from your CDs then it's most likely not as you can re-rip them.
*Can I redownload the songs that I purchased from iTunes?*
If you didn't make a back-up of your purchases to restore from then I'm sorry to say that the policy on lost purchases is that you have to pay to download them again:
"Once a Product is purchased and you receive the Product, it is your responsibility not to lose, destroy, or damage the Product, and Apple shall be without liability to you in the event of any loss, destruction, or damage." iTunes Store: Purchased content can be downloaded only once
You could try contacting the iTunes Music Store Customer Service and you might be able to persuade them to sanction a second free download. There have been occasional reports in the iTunes forum of this happening, however just be aware that they are not under any obligation to do so. If you click on any of the links on this page you'll find a space at the bottom to email your query: iTMS Customer Service

  • Songs greyed out after hard disk failure

    Hi,
I've been looking though the many, many () posts on here regarding songs greyed out and unplayable but none seem to match my exact problem.
I recent had the hard-disk fail on my macbook so, as a temporary mesasure I had to use a smaller, spare hard-disk I had lying around until I could buy a replacement.
Having de-clutered my life some time ago from keeping my music on CDs I had a lot of music on my phone which I didn't want to lose. I downloaded iExplorer and attempted to move my music across however a lot of my songs are now greyed-out on my iPhone and do not appear on iExplorer.
    Did I lose everything?

    Many thanks!
Your advice pushed me to reinstall.
I entered the licencing info from a popup that appeared after launching LR5 and just did what required. It worked just ok!
At first installation, I closed the popup with the idea to check my LR-Photo-archive in first step. Once I could check that all my pictures were ok, I entered manually the licence data from <help> + <LR registration>; registration steps and program behaviour were slightly different and were unsuccessful each time I tried.
I have to tell that my current LR5 licence is issued from upgrade from LR4... may be licence number required were first previous one or I entered the bad one...
Anyway, happy that recovery and reinstalling process ran properly.
    Thank you again.

  • New MBP i5 does not boot after hard disk swap

    Hi there,
I received my new i5 MBP today. After booting it once with the installed HDD to check if it's ok, I exchanged the hard disk for the one in my Late 2008 Macbook Pro. After doing this, my Late 2008 Macbook Pro boots fine with the (new) hard disk from the new i5 MBP, but the i5 MBP does not boot with my old hard disk.
    To give you some details:
    - I have installed 10.6.3 on the (old) hard disk that's not booting.
    - The i5 MBP boots fine from the installation DVD
    - Disk utility finds and can read my hard disk, no errors
    - PRAM NVRAM reset did not help
    - when booting in safe mode, I can see the system stop booting after or while loading Extensions.mkext
My guess is, it tries to boot and load the wrong Extensions for the new system (CPU? GPU?). I have no idea how to fix this.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Focx,
    Welcome to Apple Discussions.
Inserting the drive from an earlier model MBP will probably not work. The version of the system you have on that HD is designed for earlier hardware so when you put in in your new machine it's going to be recognized. What I'd recommend is re-installing the disk that came with the new machine and of course putting the 2008's disk back in the old machine. Then use Migration Assistant on the new machine and migrate your data from the old machine into the new machine.
This will provide a much more stable system and should work just fine.
    Regards,
    Roger

  • How do I transfer iPhone content back to laptop after hard disk crash

My old hard disk crashed a week ago. How do I transfer all my iPhone content (music, apps, podcasts, ...) back to my laptop after having a new hard disk installed?

I do have all the backups, but this means that I'd have to individually look up each App, then download it again. Isnt there a simpler way? Doesnt Apple keep an index of some sort of all the items I have purchased, so that a one-click procedure may restore the latest versions of all of them with ease?
A few years ago I adopted the strategy to keep everything on the web. With now over 20 GB on the web, it just doesnt make sense to do this any more. After the mess up with my hard disk, as far as my documents go, every time I edit any of them, I simply back them up individually onto 2 separate external drives, and burn them on CDs once a week. Having had 4 major hard disk crashes since 1989, I dont really trust automated backup programs any more. I'm much happier if I know where EXACTLY my documents are at any point in time.

  • Satellite A200-137 - Can not install windows after hard disk crash

last week my a200-137 crashed and now i have new hitachi 500 gb hdd on it, same as before the crash.
I install with Toshiba recovery DVD windows Vista on it and after succesfull install i have to start windows, it says preparing windows for first use then i have to wait a moment and then i get the message that windows installation is not completed. But it is complete!
After trying for 3 times installing with recovert I tried to install windows xp.
After a couple of minutes and transering files, I get the message no disk found! It says that there is no hard disk on the laptop!
But when I start up the boot menu or the setup menu I can see the 500 gb Hitachi hard disk!
So why can windows not find the hard disk and why can I not start windowds visat after installing with the recovery dvd?

    > So why can windows not find the hard disk and why can I not start windowds visat after installing with the recovery dvd?
On this virtual way it is not easy to say why you cannot install recovery image. It would be interesting to know if the same will happen when you replace HDD with the same or identical one.
Which capacity has had original HDD?
If possible try to obtain original Microsoft installation disc and check if HDD will be recognized by Vista or Win7 and of course if you will be able to install and start preinstalled OS.
About WXP installation: it is well known that WXP installation will not starts properly due to missing SATA driver that must be loaded before WXP installation starts.
Check this forum and you will find hundreds of threads with detailed explanation why this happen and what can you do about it.

  • CS3 version activation after hard disk crash?

I tried to activate the CS3 version again, now after installing it to the new hard disk from  original AI CD. Old image of old hard disk AI is in separate folder /Good Files . When contacting Adobe to register, AI registration automat tells me to (this next is a screen copy)
    Registration Unsuccessful
A problem was encountered while trying to send information over the Internet.
Please select one of the following options:
Try submitting the online registration again
Register Later (You will have to fill out the registration form again)
    Never register
    Submit
Maybe registration module sent the message to some old Internet address at Adobe? My PC works fine in Internet. I have Avast Antivirus in use.
2 weeks ago I was in Laos, and use of this AI CS3 was acute in one project and I contacted Adobe support
(Adobe Case Update :  0212023920 :  Badari N ) to try to solve this problem from the /Good Files recovery installation. After some chat and trials, Adobe person gave me advice to try to install from the CD. Ok, I traveled to Helsinki and found (lucky person!!) the CD, made new install, but the registration stuck. Maybe somebody from Adobe can help me?
    MArp

I ticked never register..... I can then go to the 18 MB map project.pdf
file and read it and use zoom, moving around-pan (hand) and  levels menu...
levels visible or not...that is ok so far. I have not yet started to draw
anything and save so far...  I can reopen that file normally without any
    notices for registration.
Maybe this is all ok and I can continue using AI CS3 many months/years
    without registration.
Maybe this registration thing is not needed for active use???
I may to morrow  try to save some changes to the project.pdf.... now time
    is here 01.39 midnight.
Thanks for answering to my question!

  • Trying to salvage iCal data after hard disk failure!

    Hi all,
I had a major hard disk failure recently, and also discopvered that my regular backups weren't including my iCal data! Eek! All that info I use for tax records gone!
Anyway, the wonderful DiskWarrior managed to salvage a drive that was not visible to the naked eye and it recovered various pieces of information. Many of these pieces seem to be re-packaged, or should I say 'Un-packaged'. I have a heap of folders of files that are probably supposed to be within another file structure to be useful to iCal.
I have a few folders with very long names (such as EBD6EF28-1595-49DD-8AEA-8525C9F2CB55.calendar) these have the corestorage.ics
    Info.plist
Index files in them, so appear to be the /App support/iCal folders, with a file extension added?!
Also I have folders called the same as the .calendar folders above (but no extension) and these are filled with events like this:
    FEAD3FA1-FC1B-4D5B-8C3B-2AB72EA87DF7%2F-.icalevent
    FDDD239C-6B90-11DA-B375-00039383DFDE%2F-.icalevent
In textEdit I can see that these are all my events... so near and yet so far. If all else fails I will store these for records.
I can get Calendars to appear but iCal 2.0.5 won't open or imprt the event files...
Can anyone suggest how I might restore said structure so that iCal can import them?
    Kind regards
    Rosie

Well, the structure of an ics file is easy to get (drag an event to desktop and open it with a text editor) and is well-described on the web, but I don't know about the structure of your icalevents, other than what we can see in the plist editor. After trimming out the time zone info, I get this for an ics file:
    BEGIN:VEVENT
    SEQUENCE:3
    TRANSP:OPAQUE
    UID:5E87B2F7-CF39-447E-B252-B3BF5F9C4A61
    DTSTART;TZID=Europe/Dublin:20081122T093000
    DTSTAMP:20081030T004304Z
    SUMMARY:IPF Thurles
    CREATED:20081110T210926Z
    DTEND;TZID=Europe/Dublin:20081122T140000
    END:VEVENT
According to Fat Cat's web page PlistEdit Pro is scriptable, so it might be possible to do something with Applescript.

  • I need to re install creative cloud and related desktop application after hard disk formatting. Please advise?

My hard disk got reformatted recently, please advise how to re install creative cloud and related desktop application like LR & PS on the same machine.

    Hello,
to reinstall CC shouldn't be a problem. You could download all the programs you need in the "try" Version from Adobe's download website. Because you have all needed serial numbers and so on, you can change your programs into "real" versions.
Maybe it'*s necessary, that you have to activate/deactivate pleae have a look there:

    Good luck!
