Reinstallare iphoto per os x 10.9

buongiorno,
good Morning,
Yesterday I formatted my mac mini now I find myself without hypnosis and I can not install it because the version of my mac os x is before 10.10.
how can I do? I had saved all the photos and made up but now I do not know how to retrieve them.
Thank you for your help

Does iPhoto show on the "Purchased" tab of the AppStore, when you sign in with your Apple ID? Then try to download iPhoto again from the "Purchased" tab:
You say, you have a backup copy of your iPhoto library. Do you also have a backup copy of the "Applications" folder? Which version of MacOS X and iPhoto did you have previously? If it also was Mavericks and iPhoto 9.5.1, store iPhoto from the backup of Applications.
If iPhoto does not show in your "Purchases" at the AppStore, use the original installer media that came with your Mac to reinstall (the second disk with bundled applications). Then download updaters from the software download page:  Downloads & Updates

Translation: So, the new library is completed. But it contains only one third of the originally imorted photos, and all the custom folders are gone, but when I open the library in the source list I can drag the photos back on the desk. SUPER!
Unfortunately, with the repair another problem arises. Suddenly, some photos no longer can be viewed. Once I click on a photo, instead of the enlarged  a black exclamation mark will photo pop up.
Help! What can I do now?
    Click on the Create button.

  • Questions re backing up iPhoto Library

I have a 20” iMac purchased last January and have been using iPhoto a lot since recently acquiring my first digital camera. I am adding extensively to my collection of digital photos and wish to back up my photo images to DVDs in case the originals are accidently lost or corrupted. However, I am running into some seeming weirdness along the way that is making it difficult for me to figure out how best to accomplish this. I would appreciate one of the experts on this forum clarifying this situation for me.
It appears that one way to back up the photos to a DVD is to open up iPhoto, and then click Library/Share/Burn, after which you insert a blank DVD to complete the process. However, I note a discrepancy here. When I click on Library I note that I currently have 653 photos in the Library at a size of 3.4 GB which would easily fit on a DVD. The discrepancy shows up when I open up the iPhoto Library folder in the Pictures folder and find that the size of the iPhoto Library folder is 4.73 GB which would be too big to fit on a DVD. Why does the size of the Library show up as 3.4 GB in the first case and 4.73 GB in the second case? Which value is correct? Should I back up the Library in iPhoto per the Library/Share/Burn indicated above or should I attempt to burn the iPhoto Library folder to a DVD? If the latter, what would be the best way to do this?
A related issue is creation of new photo libraries. I plan to continue to back up my library by burning to DVDs, which means that I would want to create a new library every time the current library reaches a size of about 4 GB. This would assure that each library would fit on a DVD. I encountered another bit of weirdness in my attempt to find out how to create new libraries and to switch between libraries. It appears that in creating a new library or in switching to a different iPhoto library it is first necessary to locate the current iPhoto Library folder and rename it. I can find no explanation for this. My plan would be to retain “iPhoto Library” as the name of the original library with “iPhoto Library - 2”, “iPhoto Library - 3”, etc. as the names of subsequent new libraries. Why would I want to or need to rename these libraries? Weird!
Back to my current iPhoto Library: If the actual size is 4.73 GB it won’t fit on a DVD. It would seem necessary for me to create a new library and then transfer some of the photos in the current library to the new library in order to reduce the size to about 4 GB. I presume that this is possible and would appreciate guidance on how best to accomplish this. I don’t want to chance losing any images in the process!
To date, except for the oddities incurred in working with iPhoto, I have not had much difficulty in making the transition from a Windows computer to the new iMac. I’m now a definite Mac fan! I trust that one or more experienced hands here can steer me in the right direction so that I can continue to enjoy the use of iPhoto, hopefully knowing what I am doing and why.
    Bob

    Hello, Bob,
Terence is correct. You don't need to rename your library.
I use iPhotoBuddy to manage my libraries; currently I have ten of them. I separated them chronologically by dates and named them appropriately, such as iPhotoLibrary2007.
You can burn DVDs or CDs in two ways:
    1. From WITHIN iPhoto Burn from iPhoto This method is good for iPhoto backup when you would like to keep iPhoto's structure. You can just insert the disk when you want to use the photos, and you will have them just as they were in iPhoto.
However, the photos cannot be read by photo print places nor by PCs. You may note that the disk used size is larger because you are getting the full iPhoto--thumbs, originals and modifieds. The disk icon will appear in iPhoto's source pane and can be accessed without having to reimport the photos.
    2. From FINDER Burn from Finder This method is good for preserving your photos for use in any computer or photo processing company. You may find that this method will allow more photos per disk because you are only burning the photos that you exported to the desktop folder/file. When you insert this disk and open iPhoto, you will not see the disk in the Source pane and will have to reimport the photos to use them.
Which method you use depends on what your ultimate goal is. If you want to delete the photos from your current library, but have access to them easily, then method 1 would probably suit you better.
If you are looking to archive the photos as a backup and are ok with reimporting them if you need to, then method 2 may be better for you.
Another suggestion for you is to get an external drive (or two) to use for iPhoto. As your photo collection enlarges, you may find that it is too big for your computer's drive to handle. You keep the iPhoto application on the computer's drive, but you can put the library(ies) on the external. It is easy to do; just drag the entire iPhotoLibrary (located in Pictures folder) onto the external. (Be sure the external is Mac-formatted first).
When you open iPhoto and it asks you to create or locate the library, just point it to the external drive.
If you make use of an external for your iPhoto Libraries, remember that unless you copy them onto disks, you have not backed up. That is why you may need a second external, for backup.
I have two external drives for iPhoto, and I make iMovies->DVDs of all our family photos and videos, and I burn DVDs of my photos. I had an external drive fail once. Fortunately, none of my photos were on it, just some papers of my daughters and some documents of mine. Makes me extra-cautious

  • Time machine is "hanging"

For some time now my Time Machine is "hanging"
I have a 1 TB external disk and use 500 GB for back up.
Backing up is no problem,(as far as I can see) also I can start TM and close it.
But when I try with a date to (example) to find some photos back TM is hanging,
I can do only option/command/esc to get back to "normal"
Anyone have a solution for this problem

Are you doing that by starting with iPhoto, per the pink box in #15 of [Time Machine - Frequently Asked Questions|http://web.me.com/pondini/Time_Machine/FAQ.html] (or use the link in *User Tips* at the top of this forum)? You can't see individual photos via the Finder in Time Machine.

  • Disc Utility warning

I hope im in the right place, I have iMac 2.4 GHz intel core 2 duo running 10.6.8.  I have problems with iPhoto so a ran disc utility repair disc which put up the following
WARNING  SUID file system/library/core has been modified and will not repair
I have no idea what that means but I have a feeling it has something to do with iPhoto being messed up. Any suggestions please but please keep replies simple this is way out of my comfort zone.
    Mike.

Mike, it sounds like there's a problem with the drive, but most likely it has nothing to do with iPhoto per se. I'm guessing you ran Disk Utility directly without booting the Mac in Recovery Mode, or from an Apple OS install disk? In other words, you ran DI just from the Utilites folder? If that's the case, the issue is you can't repair a disk that is being used to run the system at the same time. There is a way round this though.
Hopefully, you still have the DVDs/CD's that came with the Mac? If so, you need to insert the OS install disk and restart, holding down the "C" key, then run Disk Utility again. Here's a page I found describing nicely what to do and what you'll see:

  • Apple TV won't play TV shows that are fully downloaded in my library.

    Hi,
My Apple TV won't play TV shows that are fully downloaded in my library.  It says it will take 6 hours to load a 50 minute episode.  It suggests to change the picture resolution, yet this till says it will take hours to uplaod.  Is anyone else having this problem, and how do I fix it?  I only bought the thing last week, and really feel ripped off.  Thanks in advance.

    Raul Zero wrote:
Well, if the size of my iPhoto library is the problem, I would have hoped that Apple would have mentioned that when we were on the phone for two hours. But yes, that is a possibility. I have about 260 events containing about 26,000 photos.
I agree, they should now what kind of limitations might apply.
Again, the issue may not be iPhoto per se, but something in iTunes or the interface between the two that just struggles above a certain number of files.
I was able to view photos before I upgraded my apple TV to v3 software but it was not reliable. Sometimes it worked, sometimes not. And it was always slow.
There were occasional posts about people with slow performance on AppleTV who had huge music libraries - not in terms of storage size, just overall numbers of songs/albums etc.
AppleTV is not a particularly high spec device compared to any modern computer so long lists of music files or photos/events might overload it. Trouble is here, itunes is just flat refusing to recognise your photos to even attempt to stream them.

  • Fotos an Gruppen senden

    Thanks for your reply
    I solved my problem,
Definitely a bug in syncing through itunes.
    - Connect Iphone with MacBook Pro through USB
    - Go to iphone on itunes, photos, deselect photo synchronization.
    - Sync (all pics will be removed from iphone)
    - Close itunes, iphoto, disconnect iphone
    - Select in finder: (home)-pictures-iphoto library.
    - Sec click on iphoto library and choose "show package contents"
    - Delete iPod Photo Cache
    - Close finder
    - Empty trash
    - Reconnect iphone
    - Allow photo synchronization again and everything works smooth.
After this, changes made in iphoto are instantaneously reflected in iphone photos.
Once every hundred photos, one gets detached from iphoto and then changes are no longer reflected (buggy) :-(
In this case I erase the photo in iphoto, sync, go back to iphoto trash, reestablish the photo from the trash and sync again.
Hope this improves. Still have to try cloud though.
    Thanks

  • "Layout" option in iPhoto 09 - multiple photos per page

I am trying to printing several different photos on a single page. While I can achieve this by selecting a smaller image size and letting iPhoto arrange them automatically I would like to adjust the layout. When I selected "Layout" (under "customize") earlier I was offered layouts for One, Two, Three etc. images per page but now I can't find how to get iPhoto to offer more than One image per page. Am I doing something wrong? With several pictured selected, how do I customize the layout?
    Thanks
    Duncan

Thanks - That is what I figured but the strange thing is that when I clicked on "Layout" 20 minutes before I posted this question it offered me page layout options for "One", "Two" "Three" and "Four" images per page with different configurations for each......but now I can't get those options - frustrating! And thinking about it, why would it say "One" under layout if there were no other options available?
Has anyone else experienced this? Do other iPhoto 09 users get multiple images per page options under "Layout"?
    Thanks
    Duncan

  • I moved my iPhoto library to a external hard drive to free up space on my iMac per instructions, but the library is still on my iMac so I don't have much room left.  How do I get rid of the all the contents of my library on my iMac so just on backup drive

As per Apple instructions, I moved my iPhoto library to an external hard drive so that I could free up space on my full iMac.  However, I was not told the last step in the process -- How do I get the iPhoto library off my iMac so I free up that memory?

And after deleting the old Library, you should start up iPhoto while holding down the Option key in order to force iPhoto to let you select your iPhoto Library that is on your external hard drive.  If you start up iPhoto the usual way, it will just create a new, blank iPhoto Library in your /users/yourusername/Pictures folder on your iMac's internal hard drive.

You can't play movies in iPhoto.  But, you can in quicktime, which is installed along with the OS.  Just double click on the .mov file and quicktme should start.
