Reinstallation error

I upgrade my sql box to a totally new server now running sql2005. Novell
said I need to reinstall the asset management program again. So I am
installing the asset 7.5 inventory program againon a windows 2003 server.
Everything is going through fine until I get to when it goes to my sql2005
box then it says "server type mismatch error. This type of conversion is
not supported" . What does this mean and how can I get by it.

I guess I'm confused by this response. I'm getting the same error when trying to run a new install. Do I need to load SQL on my application server? That doesn't make sense. What do I need on my application server to get passed this message?
Thanks.
Found the problem and solution
It turns out that you need to have the same version of sql load on the
server that the database server is using or you get this message.
Thanks for all of the help

  • LV 8.2.1 reinstallation error 1301: Cannot create file

    Hi,
I was forced to uninstall LV 8.2.1 and reinstall it. When I'm reinstalling LV 8.2.1 I get an error message
Error 1301. Cannot create file ". A directory with the same name already exists. Cancel the install and try installing to a different location.
    (Abort, Retry, Ignore).
This error is somehow related to the fact that after uninstalling LV 8.2.1 LabVIEW 8.2 installation directory still remains with some stuff in the user.lib and other folders. I'm always using OpenG packages and I didn't uninstall them so that may be the reason. I also used DataAct class browser with LabVIEW.
The problem is that I cannot uninstall my OpenG packages before I can get my LabVIEW installed again as VI Package Manager reposinsible for installing OpenG packages doesn't work without installed version of LabVIEW. And I cannot get my LabVIEW correctly installed because of this error. I can press ignore and the installation procedes but I don't know whet it didn't do because of the error.
I guess this error is a bug in LV 8.2.1 isntaller so would some of NI application engineers help, please.
    For now I press Ignore.

You will get this error if the installer is trying to install a file that has the same name as a folder at that location. For example lets say the installer has a file called "sample" that should go in LabVIEW\examples folder. Now lets say there was a folder called "LabVIEW\examples\sample". Windows wont let you copy that "sample" file in the same location that contains a "sample" folder. The failure is not an error in the installer.
The problem with the 8.2.1 installer is that it is not telling you what file this failure occurred on. It is trying to, but the string is not formatted correctly and it just says "cannot create file ." The actual file name should be where the "." is.
You can usually tell what file it failed on from the text above the progress bar where it says what file is being copied. The best way to see what failed was to get an installation log file.

  • OS X Tiger reinstallation error

    Hi there,
I've recently bought an Intel based iMac,and in order to move my files from my old PC I decided to run the beta of 'boot camp', so I could run Windows from my Mac. However, when I tried to partition the Hard Drive, it told me that there was an error on the disk and that I would have to use disk utility to repair it. Since I cannot repair the startup disk from the same disk, I started the Mac from the OS X installation disk as the readme said I should. However, I missed the writing on the disk that said to hold D in order to perform the hard drive repair - I'm not used to the way Mac works and I assumed it wanted me to perform a reinstall of the OS, which it said would allow my users etc to remain as they were. I assumed it would also repair the disk while doing this. However when the installation seems to finish, an error message appears, saying that "there were errors in the installation, please try again". I did this 3 times, with the same result. Please can anybody advise me as to how I can restore the machine to how it was before the botched install, or if this is even possible? Every time I attempt to turn the machine on it returns to the installation screen...
    Thanks for your time!

    Then do the following:
    Extended Hard Drive Preparation
    1. Boot from your OS X Installer Disk. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. After the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Installer menu (Utilities menu for Tiger.)
    2. After DU loads select your hard drive (this is the entry with the mfgr.'s ID and size) from the left side list. Note the SMART status of the drive in DU's status area. If it does not say "Verified" then the drive is failing or has failed and will need replacing. Otherwise, click on the Partition tab in the DU main window.
    3. Set the number of partitions from the dropdown menu (use 1 partition unless you wish to make more.) Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled, if supported.) Click on the Partition button and wait until the volume(s) mount on the Desktop.
    4. Select the volume you just created (this is the sub-entry under the drive entry) from the left side list. Click on the Erase tab in the DU main window.
    5. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled, if supported.) Click on the Options button, check the button for Zero Data and click on OK to return to the Erase window.
    6. Click on the Erase button. The format process will take 30 minutes to an hour or more depending upon the drive size.
When formatting has completed quit DU and return to the installer. Now proceed to reinstall OS X.
I suggest that to move your files from your PC to the Mac that you set up an Ethernet connection between the two computers. If you already have a home network setup then connect both computers to your switch or router. Read the following on how to configure each computer and transfer your data:

  • Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro Reinstallation Errors

My hard drive crashed on my computer (replaced with new one) and I had to reinstall my Adobe CS5 and Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro. All of CS5 reinstalled fine. However, everytime I reinstall Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro, it errors every time. It will install, but whenever you open the program, it immediately stops working and errors out saying Adobe Acrobat 9.3 stopped working. Windows cannot find a solution and then closes.
It never gives me the chance to enter my product key or register the product. I went to the Adobe Product page and tried downloading and installing all the updates, but nothing works. No matter what I do it closes right away. Any ideas?
My PC is on Windows 7 - I had to initially install Acrobat on this PC when I got it a year or so ago and it worked fine. Not sure what's changed.
    Thanks.

I just tried reinstalling it - again, it wasnt giving me the option to register it or anything. Would close the minute I opened Acrobat.
So I opened the Acrobat Distiller that installed with Acrobat and that asked me to accept the agreement and register the product. Once I did that - Acrobat started working again!

  • QuickBooks reinstallation error

"Issue Error 2718: Missing package name for product code '{9A2F0810=369F-4E86-9072-973FBE1679C5}'."
Is this an MS Installer issue? After not seeing the icon for my Quickbooks I ran the install CD which would stop and give and error. Therefore I
removed all folders for Quickbooks and every instance of "Quickbooks" from the registry with Registry Crawler. I want through this and also rebooted
and now when I run the Quickbooks installation CD it gives this error above. Does Microsoft keep a repository of GUIDs in the registry that I
unintentionally deleted that the installer is looking for? Any other ideas?  I also ran the MS Fixit for Installer issues and it didn't find any
    issues.

  • Cs3 reinstallation Errors: 10 components - install failed.

I've been using cs3 for many years. I upgraded to Windows 8.1 in January. Everything was working perfectly until today. I got a license stopped working message. I followed the steps on adobe's website but nothing worked. I chatted with a representative online today, gave him my serial number, etc.  and asked him to deactivate so I can reinstall it. Perhaps this was a mistake since I was reinstalling on the same machine. At first he said he couldn't deactivate remotely but then he said he did. I could uninstall, then reinstall.
I uninstalled cs3, rebooted, and then tried to reinstall. After the shared components were installed and acrobat, all other components in cs3 failed. I tried uninstalling a couple times, rebooting, and reinstalling. Same error messages. Then I tried uninstalling, rebooting, running your clean up tools for cs3, rebooting, and reinstalling. Same thing happens. The last thing I tried was restoring windows to the last restore point when the computer was working properly. Then I reinstalled cs3. All components failed to install except acrobat.
I've also tried installing only some components without acrobat. That doesn't work either.
In windows programs 386,  I see all the cs3 programs in my adobe folder. When I try to run them I get this error message: 'The licensing subsystem has failed catastrophically. You must reinstall or call customer support.'
All my websites are based on dreamweaver templates so I hope someone can help me start the program. Thank-you

Hi everybody, we have the same problem. I work for university. We have to make a packeging for the Adobe CS4. I installed with administrator privilage, but the user for student isn't admin. Message came up when I opened programs... "Licensing for this product has stopped working: You cannot use this product at this time. You must repair the problem by uninstalling and then reinstalling this product or contacting your IT administrator or adobe customer support for help."
The program for repackeging is Wise. I can put the admin privilage for adobe PCD and Macrovision Shared.
    How can I do?
    Thanks

  • MySnapper and Adobe Air reinstallation error

    Windows 8, Sony Vaio laptop.
After uninstalling Adobe Air and MySnapper application, in order to get the latest update, I can no longer reinstall the applications.
Adobe Air comes up with an error message right at the end of installation process - "Sorry, an error has occurred. The application could not be installed. Try installing it again. If the problem persists, contact the application author. Error#0".
In the control panel - remove/add programs window, it has the 'MySnapper' application still listed, but has lost it's logo and when you clock 'uninstall' it says "The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable. Click OK to try again, or enter an alternate path to a folder containing the installation package 'setup.msi' in the bow below..."
The Adobe Air and MySnapper driver package can be clicked on and uninstalled with no problem however it is the Adobe Air window saying there is an error when trying to reinstall.
I have asked MySnapper for help and they don't have a clue how to fix it. I have run the CCleaner and registry cleaner to fix any leftover files, but this didn't change anything. I have restarted the computer several times.
    Please help!

  • Microsoft 8.1 reinstallation error code 0x8007025d [Y40-70]

After researching this debacle with the malicious adware of Superfish being preloaded on my laptop (Y40-70), I've discovered that the recovery partition is permanently compromised in its present state, and that  this security threat returns each and every time I perform a system restore and return the computer back to factory settings.
Therefore, I've attempted to use an ISO image Windows 8.1 obtained directly from the Microsoft website and put onto a USB stick via their own USB download tool, but each time the installation stops before reaching 100% (usually around 15%) and results in an error code of 0x8007025d. Has anyone encountered this and discovered a workaround?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

I understand your frustration. I used to be one of those that the first thing I did when powering on a new system was to format and reinstall just windows. Unfortunately I am not rich enough to be able to do that anymore. Once I buy a system I have to use what is there.
All I can say is when the software package was determined for each system when it was in development, the software included was not know to be malware.  And because of that, when Windows 10 starts shipping on machines from Lenovo Only Microsoft mandated software, Drviers, Lenovo written software and an antivirus will be installed. Anything else included in the package will be avaialbe for you to install, and you will have to deliberately install the software.
I know this does not help you now, but it is comments from people like you that is changing how things in the future will be done.

  • Tiger Reinstallation Error

I am not able to reinstall tiger onto my computer. I had problems with using some of my apps like photo booth, ichat, mail, iDVD, and iWork. I decided that i would reinstall tiger but when i put in the disk i got through the language selection, the part where it checks the installation dvd , but when it is about 20 minutes through installation, it stops and says there has been an error. I went to disk utility and tried to verify permissions for the disk and it told me that no packages were found and that they had been deleted from the library/receipts page. when i had tried to reinstall i selected the erase/install option and it got through all of the erasing so all i have now is running the computer off of the disk. we only have one mac in our family, so i cannot test the disk on another one, and i know from using disk utility that there is nothing wrong with the computers disk (permissions). I don't know what i should do and now the only thing i can think of to do is to buy leopard.

    Welcome To  Discussions CMacNewbie!
"I went to disk utility and tried to verify permissions for the disk and it told me that no packages were found..."
As you performed an unsuccessful Erase & Install, that message does not surprise me either.
To check the integrity of the Hard Drive, you should instead, run Repair Disk.
If that reports that the S.M.A.R.T. status is verified, and no repairs are necessary, then try another Erase & Install of Tiger 10.4.x.
THESE ARE THE STEPS FOR USING DISK UTILITY TO REPAIR YOUR HD
1.Insert the System Install disk, Mac OS X CD-ROM disk, or Restore DVD disk, then restart the computer while holding the C key. Use the System disk, of the OS, that is currently installed.
2.Once started up from CD or DVD, on the Menubar at the top of the screen, choose Disk Utility from the Installer contextual menu for Panther, or Utilities for Tiger.
Important: Do not click Continue in the first screen of the Installer. If you do, you must restart from disc to access Disk Utility.
    3.Click the First Aid tab.
4.Click the disclosure triangle to the left of the hard drive icon to display the names of your hard disk volumes and partitions.
5.Select your Mac OS X volume, if necessary.
6.Click Repair. If DU reports errors it has fixed, re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported.
7.Repeat steps 5 & 6, but select the Hard Drive this time. It's usually the first listed with the manufacturer's model number. Make note of the S.M.A.R.T. status.
8.When finished, select Quit Disk Utility from the Installer menu.
9.Select Quit Installer from the Installer menu.
10.In the resulting pop-up window, choose restart.
11.After the computer has restarted, you can eject the CD.
"can i partition my hard drive if it os only 80 GB?"
It isn't really necessary, and I also don't recommend it.
If you need a partitioned drive, I suggest that your purchase an external Firewire drive.
"...if i was just going to intall leopard, would it work with the computer? or would i have to partition it anyways?"
Your MacBook meets the Leopard System Requirements, so it would work just fine.
But it doesn't matter whether you install Tiger or Leopard, there is no need to partition the internal 80GB Hard Drive.

  • Itunes reinstallation error

Got another problem.  (Sorry if it's been asked before)
When trying to reinstall iTunes, I get an error message which says:
"An error occured during the installation of assembly 'Microsoft. VC80.CRT,type="win32",version="8.0.50727.61952,publicKeyToken="1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b ",processorArchitecture="x86"'. Please refer to help and support for more information. HRESULT: 0x80070002"
I then get about not having sufficient privileges for the Apple mobile device to start.
I am at a complete loss as to why it won't reinstall.

    Hi.
I tried that, but it didn't work. The same errors kept coming up.
I did a system restore and got iTunes back, but now it won't open.
I did also try reinstalling the current version after I did the system restore (and had my current iTunes still on my computer) but the same error message as above kept coming up. I did however manage to fix the apple mobile device problem.

I had acrobat X pro installed, could not update, error message 1402 popped up.  Adobe site suggested uninstalling Acrobat and reinstalling, uninstalled, tried to reinstall but with 57 seoncds left of reinstallation error message 1402 appeared and installation was backed out.  I went from not being able to update to not having the program on my machine at all.  How can I reinstall?

Reboot as the administrator and disable anti-virus. Then try the install.

  • Portege 3440CT Reinstallation of OS and NTLDR Error

    Hi all,
I have an Portege 3400 that I picked up a few years ago when starting a business. The machine was put through a lot and it won't boot anymore. I want to reinstall the OS - the only catch is I don't have the original CD Rom drive that came with the unit. I have a portable CD drive that I can plug into the USB adaptor port, but when picking a boot device it doesn't even try to look for the CD drive and immediately gives me a NTLDR error.
The only option for boot device that doesn't give me that same error is when I pick Network (Lan) but I have no idea how to set up my LAN so I can use it as the source for the reinstallation of the OS.
    Can anyone help me?
