Reinstallation Issue (fatal error 1603)

Hello, I am a new Skype user and it seems that I am not the only one to be exeriencing this issue.
I, as well as others, am having issues reinstalling Skype on my computer. I wanted to see if I could uninstall and reinstall the program out of curiosity. Uninstalling it was very simple but reinstalling it is very difficult since every time I try, I am given an error message.
The installing process is completely normal until the loading bar which will not fill up. It will, instead, scroll slowly for a few minutes then freeze and continue scrolling quite quickly until an error message appears. I am running XP but I do not believe this is the issue and I can not understand why I am having issues. I have tried the steps listed in help, even installed the Microsoft Fix It, but that did not help. The only thing I haven't done is restart my computer.
If someone would please help me, I would be thankful.

Emi-_- is the Processor SSE2?
To check it try to use: CPU-Z
If not means that Skype 7.1 that probably you are using is not compatible with your XP OS.
Here is a list of old Skype Apps: Download Skype

  • BGBISAPI.msi fatal error 1603

    Hi,
I am setting up a test SCCM 2012 environment and have a primary SCCM server up and working and deployed 2 Distribution & Management point servers fine however when i go into SCCM, Monitoring, Site Hierarchy when I right click my site it shows a load
of failures, for each of my 3 servers i have 2 errors reported every 60 minutes,
Message ID 1016 and- site component manager failed to install this component of this site system
Message ID4951 - Site Component Manager Failed to install this component, because the Microsoft installer for this component (bgbisapi.msi) could not install
When I look at the bgbsetup log file its showing
bgbisapi.msi exited with return code 1603
Fatal msi error bgbisapi could not be installed
I have done a lot of research into this trying a host of stuff and it wont install, any help much appreciated

I had this same issue on another thread.
other threadI worked with a Microsoft engineer on the case.  The issue is now resolved.  The problem was due to the server not being part of a local security group that caused it to not install a function.  We reviewed several logs to isolate
the problem.  The Microsoft engineer approached this from a "what is the expected outcome" rather than just the specified error code.  Before this was fixed all of my EU desktops were showing up inactive and with no inventory, and no historical data.
    Now everything works properly.
    Details below
Had Microsoft review my settings on support call
    confirmed boundaries were correct.
Discovery groups and settings are correct.
Secondary site settings and roles are correct.
Overall health of SCCM is correct.
    Site hierarchy is correct
    Server installation procedure is correct.
Server SCCM patch installation is correct.
Site to site functions are correct, however we have to double check logs to make sure all components are correct.  Since imaging and remote controlling are functioning there might be a component error as initially suspected.
We isolated a machine in one office, and reviewed log files (inventoryagent.log and others)
confirmed that the machine is sending it logs files to management point.
We then took a look at log files on the servers to further isolate the issue.
    <PROBLEM SECONDARY SITE SERVER>
    U_ex***.log – iis server logs
Compmon.log – component information including installation
    Perfsetup.log – performance counter information
Mpfdm.log - Moves client files to the corresponding SMS\INBOXES folder
Mp_Hinv.log to confirm that the mp is receiving and processing inventory
dataldr.log – logs .mif file processing for inventory  on primary site
    <PRIMARY SCCM SERVER>
dataldr.log – logs .mif file processing for inventory  on primary site
dataldr.lo_ - logs .mif file processing for inventory  on primary site
We noticed that the associated .mif file for the desktop machine was not present on <PRIMARY SCCM SERVER>. ( search on ConfigMgr\inboxes\auth\dataldr.box )
We reviewed additional logs and found errors in the
    compmon.log files
We concluded that there is a communication error between <PROBLEM SECONDARY SITE SERVER> and <PRIMARY SCCM SERVER>, since the inventory logs were present and processing on <PROBLEM SECONDARY SITE SERVER>.  Deeper analysis of the logs
pointed us to the root communication issue between <PROBLEM SECONDARY SITE SERVER>
Local administrators group was correct with <PRIMARY SCCM SERVER> and <PROBLEM SECONDARY SITE SERVER> added.
The sitecomp & compmon logs were reviewed further and we found some additional issue with components not installing fully.
Per one of the logs we see a failed installation and a removal of the server from a local group.
<PROBLEM SECONDARY SITE SERVER> was being removed from a local group – SMS_SiteToSiteConnection_[SITECODE]
We added the server back to the group and restarted the SMS_SITE_COMPONENT_MANAGER service.
Once this was restarted we reviewed the logs again.
<PROBLEM SECONDARY SITE SERVER> started processing and completing any installation of missing components.  Exit codes-0 for completed installations.
Sender.log started showing progress in transmitting the inventory and collected data from the workstations.
    Results
    BGB installed correctly.
<PROBLEM SECONDARY SITE SERVER> – shows green status in component settings in SCCM Console
Refreshed the SCCM Console on <PRIMARY SCCM SERVER>
<SECONDARY SITE> machines were now listed with the correct management point – <PROBLEM SECONDARY SITE SERVER> and are now showing as active.
Software deployment status has been updated for EU offices.

  • Fatal error 1603

    Hello there,
I tried to update my Ovi suite to 3.1.1.90, but i always get an error message code 1603. I even tried to uninstall the older one (3.1.1.85), and install this one, but it does not work. Now i even cant install the old version. I rebooted several times, tried the repair option too, no success... I'm using Win7 Ultimate x64. I have same OS on my laptop, the update worked perfectly there. Any ideas?

It would help to know which version of Acrobat and what OS. Be sure you are logged in as the administrator and have anti-virus disabled. For AA X and XI, you can download the updates from http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?product=1&platform=Windows (similar for MAC) and install them manually.

  • Acrobat fatal error 1603: a fatal error occurred during installation

I am running Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit with all the latest updates.
I have Acrobat XI standard installed. The updates fail.
    I have tried everything:
    Uninstalled Acrobat
    Run the Acrobat cleaner
    Removed all temporary files
    Installed the latest .net software
    Reinstalled as the administrator
Nothing seems to make a difference
    Any and all assistance appreciated.

Thanks for getting back to me. I have done all of this. I have run the cleaner tool and I have tried downloading and installing, even doing it release by release and it still doesn’t work, it still gives me the same error. I have Acrobat stand alone, although I do have both reader, Adobe Production Premium CS6 and a couple of other things installed. So I didn’t uninstall everything from Adobe, I just ran the standalone uninstaller for Acrobat and  Reader. But I have uninstalled, cleaned, removed temporary files, installed the latest .net version, and installed as the administrator. None of this has helped. Do you have any other suggestions?
    Thanks,
    Dave

  • Update 11.0.07 crashes on W8 machine - error 1603

Downloaded this update but it crashes and gives error 1603. Going to the error code page only shows solutions for W7 and XP machines. Suggestions?

I am having the same issue with applying 11.0.07 update to Windows 7 Premium Edition SP1 64 bit.  Currently running Adobe Standard 11.0.06.   Adobe Standard has up to now worked flawlessly.  I upgraded from Adobe 8 not that long ago.
I've tried every suggestion from Googling for Fatal Error 1603 without success over the past 48 hrs.
I have also tried the suggestion to remove AAMSETUP and I went from installation stopping at 6 seconds to 4 seconds but it still aborts and rolls back.
The versions of my programs in this directory are:

  • Fatal error during installation - Error 1603 ONLY on XP

    My Dears,
while installing any CS3 or CS4 Adobe product for my friend, at ~90% of installation error comes up:
    "Adobe Photoshop CS4
    Error:
Error 1603. Fatal error during installation."
I am struggling to solve it for 3 days now, and of corse I have seen and tryied all things proposed in posts like this: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/373577 , but still nothing helps me.
Thats list of all things that I have tryied to do:
    - CleanUp fix
    - Uninstalling all Adobe before fix
    - Turning Internet off fix
    - Turning anti-vir things off fix
    - Registery fix
    - Starting from CLEAN new system fix
    - Changing language from US to International fix
Still nothing. Probably thats the point of problem:
    Current Situation:
Got ACER ASPIRE x3200 desktop width Windows Vista (preinstalled), did clean installation of Windows XP and dumped Vista
There is no official drivers for XP, but got cracked chipset driver and official nVidia 8200 driver for XP from Internet
    Got all Service Packs
    100% legal
If nothing is working, maybe thats becaouse of my PC?! Installed it on my laptop with Vista 32b - WORKS (it means that installation CD is not corruptet or something). But then I have tryied to install it on another laptop with XP PRO - fail as with my PC. It seems that Windows XP Pro is not good for CS3 or CS4, BUT it did months before in my old unbranded PC.
Help! I really want to install that stuff.
    Best Regards,
    Westmidlander

I was only speaking very generally...  This is all common sense...
Adobe and other software makers are moving on from XP in their development.  Thus XP becomes more and more troublesome to use as the likelihood of problems increases.
In the case of installation, a lot of very specific things are required of an installer so that it can work on Windows 7.  The User Account Control (UAC) system and other security measures such as file permissions have to be completely and properly satisfied to install software on the newer systems.  Indeed, the application itself even has to work differently to be compliant - reference the recent 12.0.2 issues with loading scanner drivers for example, or the fact that Photoshop needs to put some things under C:\Users\... now that always used to be put under C:\Program Files\Adobe\...
It's not hard to imagine that Adobe isn't testing software as thoroughly on XP as they once did either.  Perhaps they missed one of the quirks of XP in pursuit of getting it to install properly on Windows 7.
You're putting a new cutting edge software application on an operating system designed nearly 10 years ago (an epoch in high tech).  That you don't see even more problems is a testament to Adobe's committment to support XP.

  • 1603 fatal error during installation-L7680 all in one printer

I continue to get this error because the installation finds newer software and quits.  I have completed the MSI error 1603 solution 16 page paper for windows XP and was unsuccessful.  I then used CCleaner to clean all registry errors, and that still didn't work.
Is there a quick fix to get past this error and install the latest scanner software on the HP site?  I can print with this printer, but can not see it on the network nor use the scanner.

  • 1603 - Fatal error during installation

    Hi all,
3 days ago I got Adobe Creative Cloud with access to all Apps in the Creative Suite. After downloading the Adobe Application Manager I commenced downloads/installs of each of the apps. Nearly half of them have come back saying that "Installation completed although some optional components failed to install correctly.
After hitting the hyperlink of "more details" I get this:
    Exit Code: 6
Please see specific errors below for troubleshooting. For example,  ERROR:

  • Fatal error installation code 1603 for all-in-one printer C4280

Until a month ago, I'd been successfully running my C4280 with my Dell 1535 (Windows 7 32-bit) for about a year. (It's not a new printer but it works perfectly well; it was a hand-me-down after my own HP printer died after many, many years of good service.)  I uninstalled the software because the Solution Center stopped working, cleaned up my registry, deleted temp files, ran Uninstall L_3, installed Windows updates, installed Malwarebytes, checked the condition of my .NET Framework, etc.,  etc. I have literally spent about a month trying to get the printer software to install to no avail. I have been in every forum on the internet, tried every solution posted here or on the Micsrosoft website. I have read about the incompatibiltiy between HP and Win 7 and cannot find a solution. I don't know what else to do.
The only thing I have not done--and will not do--is to reinstall Windows, the last solution suggested by all the HP reps when all other solutions fail. What does it say about a tech-based company who's solution is to throw the baby out with the bathwater?
Pretty pathetic that one would have to chuck out a perfectly good printer because the software will not install. If anyone has any viable suggestions--other than rolling back the system to an earlier version or re-installing Windows--I'd LOVE, LOVE, LOVE to hear it. If I'm forced to buy a new printer because I could not install the driver, I vow never to buy another HP product as long as I walk the earth.

    Hi BunnyVonBunny,
I appreciate your efforts thus far and I understand how frustrating this has been. Please complete the steps in the following document; Fatal Error 'Error 1603. A fatal error occurred during installation' (MSI Error 1603) Displays Durin....
Some of these steps maybe the same as what I have already suggested but doing them in the order the document suggests could be what it takes to resolve the issue.
