Reinstalled my OS, applications are missing?

I reinstalled my OS and upgraded to snow leopard and some of my applications are gone? No Garageband, iphoto, iweb, imovie?

How did you do the upgrade?
Those are no part of the OS. So if you did an erase and install they are gone. You will have to reinstall them from the original media again.

Are you launching Pages from an icon in your Dock? Installing the update does not change the Dock icons & it does not remove the older versions. Go to your Applications folder & launch the new Pages from there.

  • Applications are missing after reinstall, etc.

Hi, and thanks in advance for any assistance.
After a reinstall, which had to be done after trying to create more startup disk space after stuff was backed up to an external HD (I hope that makes sense) some applications are missing from the applications folder. For example, Backup used to be there, with the little umbrella icon, and Canoscan used to be there, etc., but now to find them I have to go through Spotlight. I can access them that way, but how can I get their icons back into the applications folder, and why'd they vanish??
    Thanks,

Hi, Miriam, and thanks for responding.
My internal Mac HD is 74.4GB. Used 73.3GB. Available 1.79GB.
My external Mufasa HD is 148 GB. Used 92.1 GB. Available 55.9 GB.
In the midst of the horror (See my Question: "Startup Disk almost full. What do I do now?") Apple had me do an Erase and Install. I did indeed accidentally re-transfer all of my date from Mufasa back to Mac HD, but Apple worked with me to remedy much of that, though I couldn't repeat the myriad steps to accomplish that to you! I'm not even sure myself! I am not sure why I have so little room on Mac HD after all of this.
Would the next step be to start burning data to CD-R or CD-RW disks? I'm not sure. I seem to need much of what I've saved, though I've deleted some stuff, of course. I have never burned a CD before. Is there a brand of CD that you recommend to do this? Any advice would be appreciated.
Thank you for "Whatsize": As per your suggestion, I downloaded it and used that to give you the above info.
Yes, Carolyn's idea about reinstalling Canon was a perfect confirmation!
It helps me to know that others have gone through the weird subscription issue. I'll try your suggestion.
    Thanks again, Miriam,

  • I'm finding Ios7 exceeding frustrating having to spend hours reinstalling and looking for last data. For example I cannot delete photos I have synced, applications are missing. Where can I get clear instructions to fix the mess?

Where can I get clear instructions to clean up a mess that Ios7 has made of my data and info on my iPad. I can't delete photos, apps are missing, it's crazy and so frustrating. I have spent hours on this.

How did the photos get onto your iPad ? If they were synced from a computer then they can't be deleted directly in the iPad's Photos app - instead they are deleted by not including them in your next photo sync from your computer's iTunes.
For your apps, as long as they are still in your country's store then you should be able to redownload them via the Purchased tab in the App Store app on your iPad, and via the Purchased link under Quicklinks on the right-hand side of the iTunes store home page on your computer's iTunes. If you had backed up to your computer's iTunes before starting the update then you could redownload them to your computer's iTunes and then retry restoring to your backup and see if that copies the apps and their content back (the actual apps aren't included in a backup, just their content/settings, so for a restore to work fully you need to have the relevant apps in the Apps part of your library).

  • RIM applications are missing

    Hi All,
    I have BB9800 with OS 6.0 Bundle 2475 v6.0.0.546, Platform 6.6.0.207
I was using App World, Facebook, and Twitter normally without any problem, I got notifications for upgrading these applications, then all icons has been disappeared, while at application management they are installed.
I follow all similar issues, uninstalled then cleared the cash, reinstall, downgrading the versions for appworld. Finally I wiped the phone and downloading the App world, I faced the same issue.
I need help, the phone became useless, by the way I'm using these services through WiFi.
It is worth mentioning that all other applications are working fine, such us, Whatsapp, browser, etc.
Thank you and need your help seriously before getting rid of this phone

This is completely normal, it is not an official release, in fact BBOS 10.3.x is only for programers so that they can already test the upgrade to their program and be ready when BlackBerry will be releasing 10.3
BTW there is no offical release date yet for 10.3

  • All applications are missing in my applications folder. How do I get them listed again

I have a folder listed but it shows being empty. Is there any way to rebuild the folder or some correction to the problem?

Interesting - I've got three Macs and two of them are as I described, but now I check the third one doesn't have the Applications folder at the user account level.
I guess the OP should ignore by post as I've obviously got it wrong (no change there ). Can't explain why I have the folder on my user account though, even has the Applications icon on it. I'm certain I didn't create it myself - in fact it is empty of any applications as I'm the only user of the machines and actually have no need for the empty folder.
    (All Macs are running 10.7.2)

  • Downloaded my MBP RD from time capsule into my new McBook Pro and some application are missing... including iTunes!

I recently purchased the new McPro. I was using Time Machine to back up my MBP RD. I then mirated my MBP RD from my Time Capsule into my Mac Pro. Lots o applicaitons (Adobe things and others did not migrate.) Ok, that's fine... I reinstalled all those separately. Now my iTunes doesn't open either. When I search for it on Spotlight it comes up as an application but when I press open I get a "i-Tunes can not open due to a problem" and the followoing Error"/ (see attached.) I'm up to date on the software and for some reason I can't find iTunes. Should I just reinstall or if there's a more significant problem since I can not even see iTunes on my Launchpad menu.
I'm up to date and there's nothing to upgrade screen shot (see attached.

I solved the problem by just reinstalling iTunes. That seems to have solved the problem.

  • I can't reinstall because my applications are listed as Up to date!

i downloaded Creativ Cloud. but when i was trying to install apps it just saying up to date. and i just deletet every adobe program that i have on my mac

Doan1234 did you utilize the uninstallers located in the Applications/Utilities/Adobe Installers folder to remove your software?  If not then please run the appropriate installer for the software which you have removed.
If you continue to experience difficulties or already ran the uninstaller then please see Creative Cloud AAM lists Applications as "Up to Date" when not installed - http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/aam-lists-removed-apps-date.html.

  • Several "default" applications are missing from my new hard drive. Can I retrieve them somehow?

My 4-year-old Mac Hard drive got screwed up so I got a new hard drive, and when i got it back, Garageband and Iphoto were missing. Is this normal or did the apple guys make a mistake?

Do you have the original Install Disc, or any iLife Disc(s)?
Often Apple will replace the OS with a later one, was 10.6.x originally your OS?

PS CS4 64-bit (in Web Premium CS4) on Win 7 PC.  I did a duplicate file check on my hdd and deleted dup files. Now when I try to run PS 64-bit I get "Some of the application components are missing from the Application directory, Please reinstall the application." When I do this, it seems to install correctly until the very end, then it says "Installation Complete With Errors", and when I try to run I get the same 'component missing message'. What can I do? PS 32 bit runs fine. Some of the other applications ib Web Premium say the shortcut has been changed or removed. I appreciate your help...Thank you

Best advice I can think of is to uninstall and run the Clean Script from here.

  • 'Some of the application components are missing from the Application directory. Please reinstall the application.'

I tried opening PS and this message popped up 'Some of the application components are missing from the Application directory. Please reinstall the application.' I cannot find the Reinstall button?

I followed these instructions but cannot find how to reinstall PS. When I click on the membership link the page displays as NOT BEING FOUND.
    Quit all applications.
In the Finder, navigate to the Photoshop application folder.
    Do one of the following:
If the Locales folder is not listed within the application folder, then skip to Step 5.
If the Locales folder is listed within the application folder, then drag the Locales folder to the Trash.
    Choose Finder > Empty Trash.
Start the installer for Photoshop or your edition of the Adobe Creative Suite.
If you purchased boxed software, then insert the installation DVD-ROM into your computer's DVD drive.
If you purchased downloadable software from the Adobe Online Store, then double-click the disk image (.dmg) file or files that you downloaded. (If you no longer have the downloaded disk image file or files, then log in to your account at www.adobe.com/membership to download the installer.)

Some of the application components are missing from the Application directory, Please reinstall the application. This is what i am getting tying to open Photoshop Cs6???

Renée in the future when removing Photoshop CC please utilize the uninstaller located in the Applications/Utilities/Adobe Installers folder.  Please run the uninstaller and then reinstall.  If you continue to face difficulty reinstalling Photoshop CC then please see CC desktop lists applications as "Up to Date" when not installed - http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/aam-lists-removed-apps-date.html.

What version of Bridge and Photoshop and what platform? Mac or Windows?  I can point you to a downloadable installer.
If the cdrom was damaged, it may be the problem.
You would uninstall and use the CC/CS Cleaner to remove any remnants before reinstalling.
