Reinstalled system software and apps
How do I get my ipad to sync with itunes with out loosing all the data on it? Dialog says it will erase ipad and sync with the new computer set up?
You can copy your backup onto your new computer so that the content is there when you sync to it. If you havn't bothered with a backup then apps and ibooks (if they are still available in the store), and if you are in the US iTunes music purchases, can be re-downloaded for free : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2519 .

Need to reinstall system software but App Store says "downloaded."
I have been waiting for an answer from Apple support, in vain. Does anyone here know how to reinstall the system software if you don't have the disks, and the App Store says "downloaded?"
Or do I have to wait until Apple somehow wakes up and resets my purchase?
I wish they had sent me disks.. Sigh. There are no longer any system disks, everything is downloadable now. The installer deletes itself after a successful install, so you need to save a copy before using it.
If you need to reinstall OS X you now use OS X Recovery.

If you need to upgrade another Mac you own, then log into the Mac App Store on that Mac and download the installer to that Mac from the Purchases pane. -
I am using ipod touch 4g 8 gb, with ios6 software. It is getting very very slow even after i reinstalled the software. Apps like temple run 2 and subway surfers are getting stuck and it is very very slow.My ipod has 2.6 gb free space. What is the problem. I am not getting to know. Even after i reinstalled these apps it is still getting stuck and it is very very slow. Is this what i get after paying so much money for ipod. Is this what i get very poor perfomance.
Periodically double click the home button and close all the apps in the recently used dock. Then power off and then back on the iPod. This frees up memory. The 4G only has 256 MB of memory.

Desktop Software 6.0 (PC) does not show OS 6 system software and core applications
I have installed DM 600_b047 on my PC (running WinXP w/ SP3). I have also installed both OS 6.0.0_rel862 and 5.0.0_rel1385 on the same PC. When I connect my Bold 9000 to the PC, DM shows everything that is installed on the device. However, when disconnect the Bold and I connect my Torch 9800, DM shows only the third-party apps installed on the device. DM does not show the System Software, Core Applications, Phone, etc. that are installed on the Torch.
On another PC (also WinXP w/ SP3), I have installed the same DM and OS software. DM on the latter PC shows all System Software, Core Apps, 3rd-party apps, etc. of both the Bold and Torch.
I would appreciate any suggestions how to get my other PC to show all BB software installed on the Torch. I have already uninstalled and reinstalled the DM and OS software on the one PC. It did not resolve my issue.
Thank you. Here's how I resolved my issue:
1. On the DM's Applications page, click the "Import files" button.
2. Drill down to the folder containing the .alx files of the BB OS. In my case, that would be "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\Shared\Loader Files\9800M_v6.0.0.284_P6.4.0.120"
3. Select the alx files shown.in the files window..
4. Click the "Open" button of the dialog box.
5. Wait for DM to finish processing the selected files.
Voila! Now I see all the apps.
Maybe RIM's software and/or system engineers can explain how the DM software got into the condition where it apparently had not selected the .alx files. -
After reinstalling system software, Apple Loops won't re-index
I have an odd problem that I really need some help with. I feel like there must be a simple solution, and I'm just missing something obvious.
The other day I had to do an archive and install from my original system disks (10.4.2) and then bring myself back to 10.4.11 (running a dual quad-core G5 here). I had to manually move my audio units and virtual instruments back to my current logic setup and application support folders.
I just went into the Loop Browser, and all of my apple loops have disappeared from the window. The loops exist on various external hard drives, and I normally just drop them onto the loop browser and pick "keep at current location" - then the browser indexes them, and everything is fine.
This is the first time I'm accessing apple loops since I reinstalled the system software (and I do still have the "Previous System" folder that the archive-and-install generates), and I got a blank list in the loop browser. So I tried dragging and dropping a few loop libraries, but to no avail - it appears to index them quickly (taking 1-2 seconds) but then there's still nothing in the browser. I've deleted the old index text files, so that shouldn't be a problem.
Can anyone help me figure out how to get my apple loops to re-index properly?
KirbyEastcoasterWestcoaster wrote:
All of the external HD's are set to "ignore permissions for this volume" so permissions shouldn't be an issue.
Wrong!
this could be the problem...
Permission must be active
Logic studio require license... so require permission
if the external drive as set to ignore permussion logic will never index a folder without ownreship
you need to pay for Apple Loops
they are not free
they are included in Logic Studio or you need to BUY JamPacks as individual DVD expansion...
*External disk with ignore permission are not allowed...*
*The only way is...*
*you need to create a Alias folder of all contents after installing Logic in the original location... than move that folder original on external drive.... and than you must delete de alias suffis on orther tha the folder must have the same permission as original.... It must be located in the same original location* -
Desktop Software does not detack BB 6 System Software and Language
Hi,
I wanted to install other languages back to my phone (currently only English). However, my Desktop Software 6.1.0.36 installed in Vista does not detect and display BB 6.0.0 system software, and so is language option. BI can see other installed software, even the application installed a day ago, but just cannot see the OS and language.
I tried installed the Desktop Software to other PC, but they were not detected and displayed either. I checked with my other friends, they are able to see the System OS and Language. What can i do ? Anybody encounter the same problem ?
Thanks.Kindly look for the device requirement online and see if your pc met all the needed requirements.

Photo Software and Apps
After you have uploaded your digital photos to your computer, you are almost ready to start editing. With many options for photo editing software, the possibilities are seemingly endless. There are many different tasks and operations you can perform, to varying levels and intensities, on your photos. The software can be used for professional work, creative expression, or simply practical purposes. There is software for the average consumer all the way up to industry professionals. With the introduction of smart phones with cameras and tablets with cameras, there are now apps to do similar things on those devices.
Often times, photo editing software is going to be used for that purpose exactly; editing. In the majority of the different programs available, you will be able to do much the same actions. You may have the ability to correct your image exposure by adding light to the photo or taking away light, and making it darker. There are many options for adjusting your color in the photo by tinting the image or changing the temperature to offer a cooler blue or maybe a warmer orange color. Some of the other functions you may find to adjust are things like contrast and saturation as well. These functions can be found in many mobile apps as well. However, not all software or apps are for editing photos. Some can be for organizational (storage and ease of access) or presentational purposes (slideshow creation).
The aforementioned are merely the tip of the iceberg to photo editing. Using apps that go deeper into the creative process and software geared toward the intermediate and above, you can create and add things to the photo rather than just alter what is already present in the image. The apps you are using through mobile devices won’t always provide you with a high-resolution final product. This is usually due to the limitations of some of the hardware from which they are being accessed. You can also purchase software to show you the basics of using your camera.
Some commonly used software and apps:
Photoshop, the most commonly used software. This software can pretty much do anything when it comes to editing digital images. Adobe also has a simpler version called Photoshop Elements that would meet the needs of most photographers.
Lightroom, this is organizational software. Simply put it is the best at what it does, and this is a must own software for any photographer. It helps organize your workflow as well as providing simple editing options.
Aperture, Apple’s photo editing software.
Photoshop Express, the Photoshop app for your smartphone or tablet.
There are many other photo editing software and apps on the market. If downloading an app, see if there is a free version first to see if you like the app. Software companies also usually provide a free trial edition of their software.Anywhere on a home page swipe down (not from the very top or you'll get the Notification Center) to launch Spotlight.

Reinstalled Windows XP -- Want to reinstall Palmone software and restore previous data.
Hello, I have a HP Pavillion PC computer with Windows XP Media addition.
My Palm device are a Zire 71 and a Palm Treo PDA.
I had to reinstall Windows XP with the factory restore disc. This installed a new clean copy of Windows XP and left all pre-existing data from other programs on the drive.
My palmone software is still on the hard drive with the data, but the program obviously does not run on the new XP install. The palm one software has to be reinstalled.
My Palm software is in a directory labeled Palmone. I am unsure of the version of my software, but I have the original CD to install from.
I want to reinstall the Palm One software from the CD, and I want it to restore the original data from the existing files. I have made copies of the existing path and all files to a backup drive.
Is it just as easy as reinstalling the software and the software will see the original files and incorporate the existing data? Or will I need to copy something over from my copies of the old data into the new files?
Just want to make sure I'm doing this right the first time.
Thanks in advance~
Matt.
Post relates to: Zire 71Hello~ Thank you for your fast reply, I am impressed~!
I should have provided you with another detail, that the most current data is not on the devices, and that is why I am motivated to preserve the data that is on the hard drive.
Because the XP is a clean installation, there is no entry for uninstalling the current installation. The current installation is simply there on the hard drive.
If I install the Palmone software brand new and sync with the devices, there will be data lost from the calendar / schedule / and contacts that was on the computer but not yet updated to the PDA.
Therefore it is imperative that I restore the data files from the old installation to the new.
I hope this clarifies. Thanks again for you quick response.
Matt.

System Prefs and App Store behaving bizarrely since installing ML
Since installing Mountain Lion a few days ago I've been experiencing some troubles with my System Preferences and the App Store. When I try to launch "Security & Privacy" "Mail, Contacts & Calendars" "iCloud" "Software Update" or "Notifications" it gives me the error "To use the "[Name]" preferences pane, System Preferenes must quit and reopen at which point it launches in 32-bit mode and then I get the error "You can't open [Name] preferences because it doesn't work on an Intel-based Mac". I figured an update may be available, so I try to launch the App Store and I get "App Store cannot be opened because of a problem. : Check with thte developer to make sure App Store works with this version of OS X."
However, if I login to the guest account on my computer I can launch the App Store and edit all my System Preferences no problem. I have already repaired disk permissions, made sure the "32-bit" box is unchecked, etc. and reinstalled the OS.
Please Help!

Ibook G4 not accepting disks, can't reinstall system software
Hi, I have an early 2004 ibook G4. Last week, my computer had a repeating kernel panic, probably due to a new application overwriting hard drive data. I tried using disk utility and disk warrior to repair the damage, as well as numerous other things, such as zapping the pram and nvram and resetting the PMU, and it did not fix the drive. So I used disk rescue II to successfully get everything on my hard drive onto a backup firewire drive. I then erased the drive with disk utility using target disk mode from my new mac mini (intel)
I want to try reinstalling the system software from the install disks that came with my ibook. My ibook is now rejecting any disks that I put in the dvd/cd rom drive, even when I start it with the C key, and when I start with the option key and try putting the install disk one in, it spits it out. I tried using target disk mode, but when I put the installation disk for the ibook into my mac mini, I cannot start up the install disk program.
Is there anything else I can try without putting in a new hard drive?
Thanks very much.Hmm,
I didn't see that you were using 10.3.9, so you may want to look at Knowledge Base Document #106464 on Your Mac won't start up in Mac OS X (Mac OS X 10.3.9 or earlier) and Knowledge Base Document #58042 on A flashing question mark appears when you start your Mac if you haven't already. You may want to try reseting the PMU (Knowledge Base Document #14449, which covers Resetting Powerbook and iBook Power Management Unit (PMU)).

I have Maverick OS 10.9.2 . I tried to re-install the software but it continues to crash anyway. I tried it on Mac Pro (Maverick as well) and it works fine on it. Any ideas what's wrong with it?I have an Epson photo scanner and have found the Image Capture app to work far better...go to Finder > Applications > Image Capture. Two people sharing one iMac with two Apple ID's software and app download question
I'm new to Apple computers finally had enough with Dell. I share the iMac with another person so we have our separate ID's. Is it possible to download software from the App Store once and use it between two people? I noticed when we updated Apps last night it didn't carry over to the second person. Thank you in advance.
Setup another user account on your Mac. You use your Apple ID on your account and the other person on theirs.
Open System Preferences > Users & Groups then select the Password tab.
Click the gold padlock icon bottom left corner of the window. You will be prompted for your admin password.
Now click + to create a new acocunt.
Select: Show fast user switching menu as and make a selection.
You should see an account name top right corner of your screen. From there you can switch accounts. -
How do I reinstall system software on mac mini
My nephew managed to delete the contents of the system folder on my mac mini. I attempted to reinstall by inserting the installation disk but I just get a flashing mac/folder/question mark on the screen. I tried holding down the C key and restarting but got the same results. I attempted to drag a copy of a system folder to that mac but it wouldn't take. Can anyone help here?
Are you using a wired or wireless keyboard?
If you are using a wireless keyboard the timing
can be tricky. It may take multiple tries til you
hit it right or just use a wired keyboard.
If this is happening with a wired keyboard, try
another keyboard or try plugging into another
USB port.
Another thing, unplug any other devices you may
have plugged into USB or Firewire ports.
If this fails, if you know someone with a USB
disk drive, try it. It could be that by coincidence
the disk controller, which manages both the
hard drive and DVD drive may be fouled up.
The external USB does not utilize this and
you may be able to boot to find if there is a
hardware problem.
