  • How do I reinstall Adobe Acrobat XI Pro?

I unistalled Adobe Acrobat XI Pro.  I am a Creative Cloud member.  I want to reinstall Adobe Acrobat XI Pro.  HOWEVER, my Creative Cloud app manager shows that I already have it and I can't reinstall it.  I've signed out of the CC desktop app, and signed back in again.  It still shows that I have Acrobat XI Pro.  Help!

Maybe an Adobe employee will come along with a better solution
While waiting, go back to http://forums.adobe.com/community/creative_cloud and, in the area just under Ask a Question, type in

Reinstalled Adobe Acrobat XI Pro after upgrading to windows 8.1 and now cannot scan through Adobe, although Scanner says its combatible with Windows 8. Cannot reinstall drivers because Brother claims they're built-in. Help!

I am using a Brother MFC 8460N and on Brother's site it says its compatible with win 8.1 and that the driver is already installed. When I try to scan I am told there is no preset (there was with win 7 though) and I have to "custom scan." When I try that, I hear a sound as if the printer is trying to scan, but the feeder can't pull the paper through. I then get a blank .pdf as my scan. Thanks for your advice. I will try that.

    Hi Tom,
kindly check the System requirements | Acrobat family of products—older versions (XI, X, 9)

  • Not able to reinstall adobe acrobat 9 pro for mac

I have to reinstall adobe acrobat 9 pro for mac -- I had to reinstall the full CS5 package, and I had no issues reinstalling Indesign, Photoshop and Illustrator from the original disks, but when I insert the AA9 Pro disk, it appears to download, and I'm able to open it, but as soon as I eject the disk, it disappears. I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. (not sure this has anything to do with it, but the other CS5 disk in the suite package -- for indesign, photoshop and illustrator -- prompted me for my serial number and product code, but when I inserted the disk for AA9 Pro, that didn't happen.) Any suggestions?

There is some process for the CS version where you are supposed to open one of the other products and then complete the Acrobat install/activation. It seems a bit strange to someone like me without CS, but I have seen such several times. You might want to ask in the CS forum about the details. The details of the install is about all you may need to go to the CS forum for -- other Acrobat specific questions are fine here.
If you wait, it may be that other CS users will be by to help with the variations for that install.

  • Uninstall and Reinstall Adobe Acrobat 8 Pro registration failed

I have uninstalled and reinstall Adobe Acrobat 8 Pro on my new machine. My new machine runs Mac OS X 10.9.5. Every time I try to click on Help > Registration it returns an error message 'Registration Unsuccessful" "A problem was encountered while trying to send information over the Internet".  I have no issue with Internet connection. Just wondering why this is happening and is there any way we can register this application.

    Hi Ksb2009,
This version of Acrobat was never tested on this version of Mac and is unsupported.
I would suggest you may upgrade to latest version of Acrobat and that will work fine. It has loads of new and enhanced features than Acrobat 8.

  • What is the procedure to reinstall Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro from the CS4 Design Premium discs?

I have uninstalled Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro from my hard drive but I'm not sure which disc to use to reinstall.  The CS4 discs are marked "Application 1," "Application 2," "Content," and "Learning Adobe Creative Suite 4."  I'm on a three year old Imac running Mac OSX 10.6.8.

    Hi dlavin999,
The disk 2 usually is meant for Acrobat 9.  You can insert the disc and check for yourself.

  • Reinstall Adobe Acrobat X Pro?

I purchased Adobe Acrobat X Pro in July of 2011.  Worked fine.  Had to do a system reformat.  Trying to reinstall and it is not working.

What's not working exactly? Windows or Mac?
Do you have your serial number?
The Windows and Mac trials can be download from

Follow the Very Important Instructions on that page first BEFORE you click the download links.
Enter your serail number to license the software on your computer.

  • I need help to reinstall Adobe Acrobat XI Pro

I  bought Acrobat XI Pro about more than one year ago. Windows was corrupted infected by a virus, so I had to format my hard disk and to reinstall Windows again and all my programs. After installing Acrobat XI Pro I introduced my serial number, but it did not work. When starting Adobe a message advised me to look for a new serial number in my Adobe account, but there is no serial number in my account.
Your advices to solve this problem should be greatly appreciated.

  • Trouble Reinstalling Adobe Acrobat X Pro

Tried to install an update, but got a message to reinstall Acrobat X Pro. D/l'd from website and tried reinstall of original program and now get message "There were errors during installation. You may want to try installing again". "Contact the software manufacturer for assistance". Uninstalled previous installation, tried to reinstall got same, restarted computer got the same, shut down and restart, got the same. Spent 1/2 the morning on this already!

Before you go further, save the download to a CD. I would suggest a download again and then compare the two installation files in case one is corrupt.
For the reinstall: (assuming uninstall is complete)
    1. remove Acrobat folder and any parts left
    2. run http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/acrobatcleaner.html
    3. reboot
    4. disable anti-virus
    5. install Acrobat
    6. Open Acrobat and run the updates from the help menu.
When you have update problems, I would suggest
    1. Repair Acrobat (help menu or the Programs & Preferences menu in the Control Panel)
    2. If you can not do the updates from Help>Updates, then download them from http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?product=1&platform=Windows (or MAC equivalent). They have to be installed in order unless told otherwise. To check for any possible skips, download from the most current backwards. Each download page indicates the previous version that is required.
With AA X on a 64-bit system, you need at least 10.1.

  • Reinstall Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro for Mac

My Acrobat 9 Pro for Mac disk appears to be corrupted.  I can't get the installation to run.  I have a valid license that I purchased.  How can I get a download of Acrobat Pro 9 Mac installation, or a replacement disk?  I can't find a solution anywhere on Adobe's site.
    Thanks.

I can find Acrobat 9 for Windows http://prodesigntools.com/adobe-acrobat-x-10-pro-reader-suite-direct-download-links-ddl.ht ml  but no Mac downloads there.  I'll keep looking.

  • Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro Reinstallation Errors

My hard drive crashed on my computer (replaced with new one) and I had to reinstall my Adobe CS5 and Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro. All of CS5 reinstalled fine. However, everytime I reinstall Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro, it errors every time. It will install, but whenever you open the program, it immediately stops working and errors out saying Adobe Acrobat 9.3 stopped working. Windows cannot find a solution and then closes.
It never gives me the chance to enter my product key or register the product. I went to the Adobe Product page and tried downloading and installing all the updates, but nothing works. No matter what I do it closes right away. Any ideas?
My PC is on Windows 7 - I had to initially install Acrobat on this PC when I got it a year or so ago and it worked fine. Not sure what's changed.
    Thanks.

I just tried reinstalling it - again, it wasnt giving me the option to register it or anything. Would close the minute I opened Acrobat.
So I opened the Acrobat Distiller that installed with Acrobat and that asked me to accept the agreement and register the product. Once I did that - Acrobat started working again!

  • Error 193: When trying to update Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro - Any help?

I have had Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro for a few years and have loved using it. I have always updated the program and kept it up to date, but I have run into a problem.
I was changing computers, so I deactivated all of my Adobe products, uninstalled them and deleted all of the information from it. I then start working and installing the programs into my new computer when it froze and crashed. I ended up having to return the computer and have it worked on, but I did deactivate and unstall all of the programs from the computer before doing so. Now I'm back to my old computer and have started having some trouble. I reinstalled Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro, went in to run the updating, but as soon as it checked and let me know there were updates available, I said start and a box popped up reading:
Does anyone have a reason the occurred and what options I have to correct this? I searched and read that  one of my options was to go into Adobe (http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?product=1&platform=Windows) and run the updates manually, but that would mean downloading and installing over 20 updates, one by one. I know that I don't have to keep restarting my computer after each one and only after the last, but there has to be another way. That would take me a couple of hours where I couldn't leave my computer.
I did try to uninstall the program again and then reinstall it, but no I had luck there. I received the same error message telling me that the update failed.
Can anyone help me let me know why this is happening and what I can do to prevent/stop this?
    Thanks,
    Sean

  • Will uninstall/reinstall Adobe Acrobat 9 affect PDFs already created?

I am receiving a message that I must uninstall then reinstall Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro to fix a problem. Operating system. Windows 7.  Problem on laptop only.  No problem on desktop.  Error message says: "Licensing for this product has stopped working.  You cannot use this product at this time. You must repair the problem by uninstalling and then reinstalling this product or contacting your IT administrator or Adobe customer support for help. (148:3)"  If I uninstall / reinstall will this affect the PDFs already created in My Docs?  Is there another way?

The process with not affect the PDFs, but I would be concerned about registration and such. If you uninstall without deactivating, you may lose the second install option and have to call Adobe to reset. I would try a repair first and see if that helps. The repair can be done from Control Panel>Programs & Preferences (since you apparently cannot open Acrobat).
If you do uninstall, do the following before reinstalling: run http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/acrobatcleaner.html and remove any left over parts of the Acrobat folder. If Acrobat is part of a CS installation, you may need to check there (CS forum) for the proper way to reinstall.
If you have an upgrade, then be sure to have the SN of the previous product available.
