Reinstalling Crystal errors

Hi,
I'm getting an error when I try to reinstall Crystal on my computer.  "The Product key code "actual key shown" is not valid or has expired."  I've verified the key and it is correct.  Any suggestions?

Hi,
Give it a try by
Delete the following registry keys:
WARNING: This resolution can be applied if Crystal Reports  is the only software installed on the computer that uses the Business Objects directories, files and registry keys. For example, Crystal Analysis, Crystal Enterprise and BusinessObjects Enterprise are applications that may share the same directories, files and registry keys. Removing these directories, files and registry keys may cause other software to function incorrectly
WARNING: The following resolution involves editing the registry. Using the Registry Editor incorrectly can cause serious problems that may require you to reinstall the Microsoft Windows operating system. Use the Registry Editor at your own risk. HELP: For information on how to edit the registry key, view the 'Changing Keys And Values' online Help topic in the Registry Editor (Regedit.exe).
RECOMMENDATION: It is strongly recommended that you make a backup copy of the registry files (System.dat and User.dat on Win9x computers) before you edit the registry.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Business Objects u2022 HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Business Objects u2022 HKEY_USERS\S-#-#-##-...-####\Software\Business Objects (The number signs (#) represent a series of numbers that are different on each computer.)
NOTE: After making changes to the registry, restart the affected service or application as required.
Now reinstall the CR.
Hope it helps!!
Regards,
Amit

  • HT1926 Have the same problem as many other users: tried to update iTunes on Windows 7 today; first message "unable to locate component- MSVCR80.dll was not found" then "iTunes was not installed correctly. Please reinstall iTunes - Error 7 (Windows error 1

I have the same problem as many other users: updated iTunes on Windows 7 on Jan 26, 2014 and iTunes does not open.  First message "unable to locate component- MSVCR80.dll was not found" then "iTunes was not installed correctly. Please reinstall iTunes - Error 7 (Windows error 126)". When will Apple fix this? Don’t feel like uninstalling all Apple software and then re-installing it as suggested, as I am on a terribly slow internet connection while travelling in the DR Congo.

Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
    iTunes
    Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support (if this won't uninstall press on)
    Bonjour
    Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
The uninstall and reinstall process will preserve your iTunes library and settings, but ideally you would back up the library and your other important personal documents and data on a regular basis. See this user tip for a suggested technique.
    Please note:
Some users may need to follow all the steps in whichever of the following support documents applies to their system. These include some additional manual file and folder deletions not mentioned above.

What may have happened is an error and a kernel panic, filling up the logfiles.
What I recommend is first to find a way to backup your data without booting the hard drive directly if it isn't already backed up, and then get Alsoft Disk Warrior to repair the hard drive.    You'll probably want an external drive from http://www.macsales.com/
And you'll want to go into Hard drive -> Library -> Logs, System -> Library -> Logs, and Users -> yourname -> Library -> Logs to remove whatever you find there.
If after booting it fills up again, start by removing all startup items in your System Preferences for your user, and rebooting in safe mode with the shift key held down. If the hard drive is over 85% full after removing the logfiles, you may want to look at what were the last applications you installed.
Peer2peer software if installed can be as bad as a virus, because it enables others to access your computer. Insecure wireless networks are just as bad, if they are WEP or no encryption and someone is within 1500 feet of your computer.
If no such software is installed, your RAM probably has failed.    Run the hardware test that came with your computer, by booting with the 'D' key.
If nothing shows up there, it can still be the RAM.   Especially if you've seen any 4 language screens telling you to restart.

I had to reinstall my Itunes account and after installing received this error: This application has failed to start because MSVCR80.dll was not found.  Reinstalling the application may fix the problem.

The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.

If you are running 64-bit Windows and the above steps haven't helped try installing the version of iTunes that can be downloaded from this support document. iTunes 12.1 for Windows (64-bit — for older video cards)

  • Apple Configurator error on launch "Please reinstall iTunes (Error -42110)"

    I'm running OS X 10.8.5 and iTunes 11.1.1
I had Apple Configurator 1.4 working for a while, but one day opened it up and it's coming up with this same error:
    "Please reinstall iTunes (Error: -42110)"
I've deleted iTunes.app from the the Applications folder, moved AirTrafficHost.framework and MobileDevice.framework from the /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/ as described here https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3888313?tstart=0
then reinstalled iTunes and I get the same error message!
I have also tried deleting Apple Configurator.app and the above, and after reinstalling both it still doesn't work
Is it possible to get an iTunes uninstaller app that removes all the other files iTunes installs so I can reinstall?
    Any help appreciated

    Solved it! Kind of...
This was directly related to me authorising a machine in iTunes. I followed this guide and deleted the SC Info folder here /Users/Shared/SC Info/
relaunched Apple Configurator and it worked!
The problem I'm still having is that I'm trying to pre-install free apps on some iOS devices using Apple configurator. Every time I try this is fails on the app installation stage of installation with the error message 'Unable to authorize apps'.
Googling this error message tells me to Authorize the machine in iTunes to the Apple ID that I originally got the apps from, but as soon as I do this, Apple Configurator stops working with the above message!
    Vicious circle!

  • Have uninstalled and reinstalled Itunes 10.7.0.21 and keep getting error message "itunes was not installed correctly. Please reinstall itunes. error 7 (windows error 5).

following an update of itunes I keep getting the messageI "Please reinstall itunes. error 7 (windows error 5)." I Have uninstalled and reinstalled Itunes 10.7.0.21 and keep getting the same error message.

A complete uninstall/reinstall of iTunes and related software components is worth a try (7s can indicate trouble with other software components like Apple Application Support). See the following documents for instructions:
Removing and Reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows XP
Removing and reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows Vista or Windows 7
... But if no joy there, let's check to see if there's a .NET issue underlying this:
