  • Acrobat will not accept license code after installing cs4 premium upgrade

We just upgraded to CS4 premium, from CS3 premium. In doing so acrobat replaced Acrobat 8 pro with Acrobat 9 pro.
All our tools only work in Acrobat 8 pro, so we unistalled the Acrobat 9 pro and the software will not accept the keys from the product boxes that was used to install the software. the 30 day trial period comes up where you can enter a number or buy "version 9".
Is there anything special to fix this mess that anyone has found?
We are a printing company and use tools from enfocus, quite, and other special plugins that only support up to version 8?
Before we totally uninstall CS4 premium we wanted to see if anyone else has had this issuse or knows who to get with at Adobe to get a key that will work for the licensed software.

  • Reinstalling CS4 after upgrading Mac OS

I have CS4 student edition installed on my Macbook
I am currently running OS 10.5.8 on my Macbook and need to upgrade.
Will CS4 run on higher versions of OSx ?
Will I have to reinstall CS4 after I upgrade? If I do have to reinstall does Adobe allow multiple installations on the same PC?

cs4 is listed as compatible with lion, mt lion and mavericks: http://roaringapps.com/apps
you might be able to upgrade your os and have no problem with your installed apps including cs4.  but the safest way to proceed is to deactivate your current installation (help>deactivate), uninstall and then reinstall and reactivate after your os upgrade.

  • CS3 upgrade wont accept older serial number in stage 2  :(

    Hi folks,
I have been happily using Photoshop CS for years and then got a retina with Mavericks...
So I had to up the ante but since I couldn't afford CC or CS5+ I got myself CS3 on eBay.  Now- it was sold as "full retail" but turns out is only an upgrade but with serial number et al.  No HUGE problem as I did have my Photoshop CS serial number and unboxed disk still.  Or so I thought.
But it works fine to install and even to trial, but when I get to the point of my CS serial number to "upgrade" from it doesn't like my CS serial number.  Meaning- I cannot upgrade!
What could the matter be?  My CS serial number is fine and it does work fine on my older Mac running CS still, just not on either Mac (both the retina and the older Mac which I tested just to rule out the retina not acknowledging CS) to upgrade to CS3.
Also-  I would like to register CS3 even though it is only an upgrade but it is already registered.  IS there provision for owners of preowned Photoshops?  I do have the bonafide disk, complete with workshop and box etc.

I just got my transcript from the chat where I am told I cannot be helped with my issue with the CS3 upgrade because I haven't been able to register the serial/licence to myself and where I signed off after apologising to the operative for wasting their time only to find that they had tagged this mysterious bit at the end, after I closed the window:
*bleep* :But in case of the upgrade cs3 serial number , sometimes there are trouble to unlock it .
*bleep* :so we need to unlock the serial number in the different way.
Obviously I cannot now ask what on earth that means.
Wee Moan Alert:  I am so stressed by this as the whole reason for this is that my beloved MacBook Pro died on me just ten days after having been "repaired" by the local Apple "mechanic" and they suspect that this time it is the motherboard or logic board which made it uneconomical to repair and I had to stump out for a new retina which can only run Mavericks and Mavericks requires CS3 upward, has no Super Drive and "outdated" any of my non-native software so that this has been EXCEEDINGLY expensive.
I didn't WANT to upgrade CS (I like it-  it is familiar and NEVER let me down) but had to so thought that at least buying a bonafide second-hand (full retail) version would be the best of both worlds-  genuine (I like genuine and have more ancient boxed software than is sane) AND not going to break me financially (blood and stones, blood and stones!). /end moan

  • Installing from CS1 to CS4 Premium Upgrade

Needing to upgrade at my home office.
I have had to go through support before, but two months later Leopard crashed, so I had to reformat loosing all applications.
Now I was told by tech support, finally getting through after giving up after waiting twice for 45 minutes each time.
And was told it's easy just call when you are at your home office.
So I did, but just ended up waiting and gave up as I work until 6pm, so 7pm they close central time.
I installed as a trial and remember faintly going through that process, b ut still only have a trial for much purchased copies.
I worked flawless last time, but I need to install again on the same computer that crashed.
    Please help.

    >Now, if only I didn't have to go through all of that just because I had installed and uninstalled a trial version of CS4 which left some registry entries . . .
That IS a pain in the ...
If you do a lot of testing, as I sometimes do, you might want to think about investing in another hard drive and some imaging software, both of which are pretty inexpensive (and are great insurance in case of disaster). I use a removable bay, too, so I can just plug in whatever drive I want, but that's more money. In any case, this allows me to have the advantages of a test platform without the need for a whole second computer, and I never have to put my production system at risk with trial software.
Even the imaging software alone would help. I use Acronis TrueImage which has a try-and-decide feature (which I don't use) that makes changes first in a virtual partition until you want to make them permanent, but just having an image of the machine before ANY new program is installed has been an occasional lifesaver -- images work even when System Restore doesn't, which in my case seems to be every time I really wish it would. :(

  • Web Premium Upgrade CS4 to CS5 - no need to re-install Acrobat Pro?

Just received Web Premium Upgrade package today. Currently have CS3 Web Standard. and CS4 Web Premium installed so will be removing CS3 Standard before attempting CS5 upgrade. My question concerns Acrobat Pro 9, perhaps obviously given the forum I'm posting in! :-) Would I be correct in assuming that given I have an up-to-date version of Acrobat Pro 9 installed as part of CS4 I can ignore the CS5 Acrobat installation? That's based on an associated assumption that the upgrade package is intended to also cover upgrades from CS4 Standard and other suites that did not include Acrobat Pro.

Apologies; answered my own question! From the CS5 installation instructions (online, not provided with installation package) "If you already have Acrobat 9 Pro installed, either as part of a suite or as a standalone application, you do not need to reinstall it." From http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/825/cpsid_82596.html

The Illustrator, Indesign and Acrobat applications are not in my applications folder although there are folders in there with those names containing associated items. How can this have happened and what can I do?

  • CS4 Web Premium Upgrade Price Seems Unfair

We own CS2, Macromedia Studio 8 and we have the CS3 Web Premium. The upgrade price to CS4 Web Premium is $599. This is the same price for someone upgrading from Studio 8 or CS2 Premium. What about the people who have bought each upgrade (not counting CS3.3) This upgrade price seems way to high. Just my two cents.

Are you complaining that it is too high, or that there should be different tiers of upgrades?
Adobe's policy has always been that you can upgrade from any of the last three versions. It is my understanding that this will be changing soon, and people who have upgraded more recently DO get a lower price. I believe the price to go from CS2 to CS4 will be $799 sometime next year. Since this is a new policy, they are giving people a few months to buy under the old policy.
If anything, this is the fairest thing I've ever seen a corporation do. They are making a policy more fair, while still not hurting the people who didn't know the change was coming.
That said, I do agree $599 is a bit steep for someone who just upgraded recently, especially for the Web package. The upgrade to CS3 Production Premium was $799, where the CS4 upgrade is $599...that seems fair to me (though they dropped Ultra from the package.) However, the CS3 Web Premium upgrade was $599 (or was it $499?) It does seem out of wack price-wise. The fact that Design Premium now includes Fireworks makes the Web Premium price even less attractive.
In your particular situation, it sounds to me like you have FULL licenses for CS2 AND Studio 8, and then an upgrade to CS3 Web. Basically, you have at least one license you aren't using (unless you're using it on another computer.) My advice would be to sell your CS2 or Studio 8 license, whichever is worth more these days. When I upgraded to CS3 Web Premium, I owned both Studio MX 2004 AND CS2 Premium licenses. I sold the CS2 license, and it almost paid for my Studio MX to CS3 Web upgrade.

  • Reinstalling cs4 upgrade on os10.8.3

My Company has updated my mac from an older power pc imac to a new imac with Os 10.8.3.
I'm trying to load on the applications with I have in boxed form using disks.
Oh Oh no disk tray in this new mac. Ive tried using remote disk linked from my older mac but the new mac wont install the disk saying its a powerpc application.
I only have a full version of adobe CS1 and everything else up to CS4 are upgrades.
How Can i get this onto the new imac?
Surely if I have all my serial nos. etc Adobe can supply these files as online downloads.
Anyone know a way around this? Please help

    Hi Academy Lee,
Click «http://prodesigntools.com/download-adobe-cs4-and-cs3-free-trials-here.html#more-5583» to visit this page and then select the “Download Now” button at the bottom.
Tthen sign in with your Adobe ID or take a minute to create one for yourself.
Now close or cancel any windows that may pop up or any downloads that started.
Download the files either by clicking directly on the DDL links, or by right-clicking and choosing “Save Link As…” on the popup menu – and save all files to the same place.

  • Upgrade CS3 Design Standard using CS3 Design premium Upgrade?

    Is this possible?
My employer purchased an Adobe Creative Suite 3 Design Premium Upgrade, and I have the Standard version of CS3 installed on my G4; there is nothing mentioned in the system requirements list, but on the box front it reads "This upgrade version of Adobe Creative Suite 3.3 Design Premium will install only if you are a licensed user of eligible Adobe Creative Suite 3 Design Premium software."
That seems to be pretty definitive, but I thought I'd check with some more knowledgeable users.

    m,
What your boss has and what you have is not relevant. The two Creative Suites are two distinct versions, each with its own license and upgrade path.
Aside from it being illegal, you cannot use your boss' software Premium version to upgrade your Standard version.
Beyond that, CS3 and CS3.3 are both discontinued. My recommendation would be to save for a newer computer and CS4 Standard or Premium.

  • Trying to reinstall CS4 and I've lost CS3 activation key

I bought CS3 years ago, upgraded to CS4. I'm trying to reinstall CS4 and it's asking for the CS3 activation key. I've lost the CS3 key. Is there any way to recover it?
    Thanks

    Hi houyhnhnm2,
You need to contact Customer Service ( http://helpx.adobe.com/contact.html ) and they would be able to help you find the serial number if you have registered it.
Else they will help you unlock the serial key after validating.
You can even reach our chat support at http://adobe.ly/yxj0t6

  • Currently have CS3 can I skip CS4 and upgrade directly to CS5?

I currently have CS3 and was wondering do I need to get CS4 and then CS5?  Or can I skip and just upgrade?  I will be taking a class and the book is Adobe CS4 classroom in a box, will that be extremely different from CS5?  I don't want to have to pay for CS4 then CS5 too!

You will be hard pressed to find a legitimate copy of CS4.
The CS3 to CS5 Design Premium upgrade is available at Amazon for about $780 with free shipping: http://amzn.to/bcdcrU
You can save a bit on Design Standard at about $665 http://amzn.to/aMkmN7 but you're giving up an awful lot. This article on my website may be helpful: http://www.theindesignguy.com/purchase-advice.shtml

  • CS3 standard to CS4 extended upgrade, can this be done?

    Hello.
I have CS3 standard, and want to perchase CS4 extended (Upgrade)  Can a non standard version be upgraded to a extended version as is the case what I wish to do?
    Thankyou

CS4 is no longer offered.  You have to buy CS5,
You have to pay a premium to jump out of the upgrade channel you are in.  Howeve, think about this carefully.  Once in the Extended upgrade path you will have to continue this path.
Also, research this carefully, as I have seen a nunber of posts that indicate the user regrets making the switch as they rarely use the added features, and if really into the 3D stuff other products have more features.

  • Upgrading Individual Components of CS3 -- CS4

    Hello,
We purchased the CS4 Design Premium upgrade from CS3. We have at least one open project using InDesign CS3 (other partners are using CS3, and have not upgraded), however, I'm interested in getting started with Photoshop CS4.
Does anyone know if it's possible to upgrade just the Photoshop CS4 or: all-but-InDesign CS4 during the CS4 Design Premium installation? Or, can I still run the CS3 apps with CS4 installed?
    thanks in advance!
    JP

First point is that you must buy a suite upgrade...you can't upgrade
    individual components.
That said, when you install the upgrade it will be a totally separate
installation, it doesn't replace the old one so just install all of the
applications. You can, of course, choose a custom install and pick and
choose the apps you want but you have nothing to gain by doing so.

  • Deactivated CS4 upgrade. Also deactivate CS3?

I recently installed Windows 7, but before I did, I deactivated my upgrade copy of CS4, but failed to deactivate my full copy of CS3. Did I need to deactivate both copies/versions or is it okay to deactivate just the latest version?
Here is the order of events of what I did...
    Installed CS3
After some time, I bought and installed the upgrade version of CS4. At this point both CS3 and CS4 are installed on my machine. For example, I can run either Photoshop CS3 or Photoshop CS4.
    Deactivated CS4
Installed Windows 7 on the same computer
    Reinstalled CS4
Activated CS4 with the serial numbers from the packaging from both my CS4 and CS3 boxes.
Is it okay that I did not deactivate CS3 between steps 3 & 4?

The activations are separate for each installed version.
Even if you failed to deactivate before installing Win7, you may still be able to activate CS3.   Try, and if it fails, call Adobe support.
