I bought Photoshop CS6 Extended for Windows Student Edition for my PC online last year from Curry's PC World. I was told at the time of purchase that I would be able to transfer this software from my PC onto a Macbook. I have now purchased the Macbook and would like to transfer the software from my old Windows PC onto my new Macbook. Please could I have some assistance in doing so. Thank you!

You didn't mention who told you you could transfer the software, but I suspect it was not anyone from Adobe. Versions are platform specific so there is little chance of installing the Windows version on a Mac without the use of a Windows emulator of some kind. Since it is CS6, you do have the option to apply for a platform swap. See the following...

Photoshop cs6 extended and windows 8

I Have been told different answers pertaining to photoshop cs6 being compatible with windows 8. Does anyone here use photoshop cs6 on windows 8? Specifically photoshop cs6 extended? Any info would be appreciated! Thanks

The base code of windows 7, vista , 8, and 8.1 are all identical. They are all the same version. They are only point upgrades from each other (based on information from Microsoft)
This means that odds are quite good if it works on 7 or vista, it will work on 8 or 8.1.
This biggest differences are user interface changes between each version of windows, other than that bug fixes.
That said, the .net code is updated and it is possible that something written for version 8 would not be backward compatible.
On another note, I have not heard of any complaints using CS6 on 8, so I am fairly confident that it will run. But like anything, there is always that possibility. (That was my disclaimer, lol.)

I've got CS6 currently. I'm looking to resintall Windows 7 Ultimate (I had some issues that while resolved, suggest a reinstall would be a wise idea), and I'm wondering how hard (or easy) it'll be to reinstall my copy of cs6. I've never had to do this, so I'm sort of "fumbling in the dark" as it were. If anyone has any suggestions or tips, or if I've somehow missed anything and just need to be pointed right, let me know! Are you going to format the hard drive? If so in PS click Help/Deactivate first. After install click on Activate.

Reinstalling CS6 extended

I purchased the academic version of CS5 ext which was upgraded within 1 month to CS6 ext and it ran successfully on Win 7. I am now trying to reinstall it via download from "my account" page on Windows 8 (on separate ssd within same machine) When I enter the serial no it says the product does not qualify. Any help appreciated

My liquify tool in CS^ Extended has stopped working after upgrading my operating system to Windows 8.1. It was fin in Windows 8.0. Suggestions on how to fix this please.

This is not a proper solution (as it would cost you the GPU dependent features like Rotate View Tool etc.) but it does indicate that you may have to update your GPU driver from the GPU maker’s site.

I want to reinstall my CS6 on my laptop because I have to reformate the hard disk. Do I have to keep anything else in mind besides deactivating the suite before uninstalling it?

Make sure you have your serial number and if CS6 was an upgrade, the serial number of the version it was upgraded from.

You need to call Adobe and have them transfer your license to a Mac version. With the current subscription plan, you can use it on either Win or Mac.

Where is CS6 Extended Bridge? My laptop crashed, and on reinstallation of CS6 there is no Bridge

My new laptop (Windows 8) crashed, and I reinstalled CS6 Extended. Everything went fine, except no Bridge was installed and when I ran the installation again to double check there is no option to install Bridge.
Where did it go?
Note: I had already chatted with Adobe beforehand and notified them of my failed laptop and my attempt to reinstall, so I could still retain the two allowed installations.

I have photoshop CS6 extended for windows and I want to switch platform to mac, can I do this without upgrading to the new photoshop CC?

Thanks, It says 'You can swap only current versions, and only if the equivalent product is available for the new language or platform.' though, so does that mean it only applies to the new photoshop CC?

Reinstall Ps Extended CS6?

I purchased Adobe Photoshop Extended CS6 Win UE (Student Teacher Edition) in March and have successfully installed it.
I want to rebuild my computer and reinstall the OS (Windows 7). I understand I will have to reinstall all my programs, however, I no longer have the install file for CS6.
Two questions:
1) Can you point me to where I can download this file? If I go to:

and activate with your serial.
if you have a problem dl'g, you didn't follow all 7 steps. the most common error involves failing to meticulously follow steps 1,2 and/or 3 (which adds a cookie to your system enabling you to download the correct version from adobe.com).
2) yes. but deactivate your previous versions before uninstalling: help>deactivate.
