Reinstalling iWork 09 without installer

I've just bought a new iMac. I have successfully reinstalled all my apps except iWork 09.
When I open Pages (or numbers or keynote) I get this message:
I bought this app through the app store so I don't have an installer disk.
How can i reactivate iWork without the installer?
Anyone?

Open App Store, go to Purchases page, re-download thee apps. You will first need to drag the iWork folder to the Trash.

  • Reinstall iWork without disc

    Hi guys,
I'm thinking of reinstalling Lion to get my Macbook running fresh again.
However, I am facing some problems. I have just moved to another country and don't have any of the discs of my software with me (iWork and Office, mostly). After I have reinstalled Lion, is it possible for me to reinstall iWork without the discs? Will the Macbook somehow 'remember' my serial number or do I need the disc to reinstall it?
    Thanks in advance
    Michael

You need to have the original retail disk or a disk image of the disk. With iWork '09 there is no serial number for the installation. If you migrate from a clone or Time Machine backup of your existing system it might remember, but I wouldn't count on it. You will either need someone to send you the disk or buy the needed iWork apps from the Mac App Store.

    What can i do ?

do you happen to know if there is a way to do this with a flash drive to avoid buying a new external dvd burner for the newer macks a lot of us have?

  • Need to reinstall iWorks but my Superdrive won't read disk.

    Hi folks
I recently had a problem with 'NUmbers' not loading and after following the instructions of a very helpful forum member I have sorted out the problem. This, however, has thrown up another issue though and I wonder if anyone could help?
Since I installed Mountain Lion my Superdrive refuses to load most disks but as I hardly need it I don't feel inclined to spend time or money fixing it, however when I came to reinstall iWorks '09 from the disk - you guessed it - it would not load! I therefore had to downloadand a trial to see if I had fixed the problem.
My question is therefore, as I am the owner of a kosher iWorks '09 disk is there anyway I can gain access to the iWorks app in the Mac app store but without having to pay for it again?
By the way if anyone knows a way of sorting out my Superdrive I would be very grateful also ;o)
    Cheers Steve

The DVD version of iWork has no serial number and can't be upgraded to anything else.
If your Superdrive is broken, just buy an external USB2 DVD/CD drive from eBay. That is a Pioneer USB 3.0 BDR RW drive, but there are cheaper models.
I got a USB Bluray drive for a fraction of what Apple was going to charge me for their repair and as a bonus it reads DVDs twice as fast as well as reads/writes Bluray disks! Apple put a brake on their internal optical drives as a "fix" for something or other.
The speed of my external drive is nice but it does make one **** of a spinning noise.

PS when you get to read your DVD make a disk image of it and store that on a drive somewhere as your backup installer.

  • IWork/Keynote Installer Error

I purchsed an iWork 09 serial number online from the Apple store.  When I installed it, Pages worked fine, but now when I try to open Keynote and Pages an error message comes up saying "Files that iWork needs are missing: To restore the missing files, use the iWork Installer to reinstall iWork".  As I don't have a disc to reinstall, how do I go about finding the iWork installer to get it to open?

    Hi Joshuafromoklahoma,
Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!
What I would recommend in this situation would be deleting iWork from your computer and reinstalling fresh. Please use the following article for information on how to complete these steps. I understand the article title doesn’t apply to your situation, but the steps for removal will be of some help to you.

To back up your data, either use Target Disk Mode and a cable from another Mac (which mounts your problem Mac as an external disk of the other Mac) and Disk Utility on that other Mac, or — and this is all assuming you either have a slow Internet connection and don't want to use Internet Recovery, or if you have an older Mac that doesn't support Internet Recovery — you can create a bootable USB key disk on another Mac and then boot your problematic Mac from that keydisk, then use Disk Utility from the installer to make a backup to another (external) (scratch) disk.  You can also use that keydisk to reinstall OS X, to repair or to reinstall OS X.

  • Reinstall Lion without losing data?

I bought a Mac Mini with Snow Leopard on it over the summer. I had nothing but problems with permissions. I eventually decided to buy the Server part of Lion. That has also been a headache. I have scoured the forums to find out how I can reinstall the Server hoping that would take care of the issues. It appears that reinstalling Lion then adding Server are my only options. However I need help doing this right way. I have a virtual machine and data from address book to Calendar that I can't loose. I have time Machine but I am scared of just relying on that as the permissions issues I have been having keep coming back. Apple support has been of no help with just the one issue I was having with contacts. That problem came right back after I got off the third call to Apple.
Can I reinstall Lion without loosing my data?
Can I just copy my user folders to an external HD then reinstall Lion clean, add users, then copy data from those folders back? Specifically will I loose the work my wife has done importing and flagging faces in iPhoto?

I would do as you said, save data, or do a clone first.
But, reinstalling Lion should only affect  those things that
lion installs and not anything else, unless you do a clean
install of course.  Backing up is a good precaution though
    should something go wrong.

  • Reinstalling lion without wiping drive

i need to reinstall lion without wiping my drive because i haven't made a backup yet. how do i do this?
    thanks.
    carl

Can't you first make the backup?
    Reinstalling Lion
Boot to the Recovery HD: Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alterhatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions: Upon startup select Disk Utility from the main menu. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions as follows.
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list.  In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive.  If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the main menu.
Reinstall Lion: Select Reinstall Lion and click on the Continue button.
Note: You can also re-download the Lion installer by opening the App Store application. Hold down the OPTION key and click on the Purchases icon in the toolbar. You should now see an active Install button to the right of your Lion purchase entry. There are situations in which this will not work. For example, if you are already booted into the Lion you originally purchased with your Apple ID or if an instance of the Lion installer is located anywhere on your computer.

  • HT2703 Can i reinstall Bonjour without uninstalling/reinstalling itunes after accidental removal?

Can i reinstall Bonjour, after accidental removal, without uninstall/reinstalling itunes?

Uninstalling and then reinstalling your iTunes should also get your Bonjour reinstalled.
For the reinstall, use an installer downloaded from the Apple website:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
... or you could get it back via your Apple Software Update for Windows.
If you'd prefer not to uninstall iTunes, try the following procedure.
Download and save a copy of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe) installer file to your hard drive:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Download and install the free trial version of WinRAR:
    http://www.rarlab.com/
Right-click the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe), and select "Extract to iTunesSetup" (or "Extract to iTunes64Setup"). WinRAR will expand the contents of the file into a folder called "iTunesSetup" (or "iTunes64Setup").
Go into the folder and doubleclick the Bonjour.msi (or Bonjour64.msi) to do a standalone Bonjour install.

  • Reinstall iWork

My iMac has died and I have reinstalled iWork 08 on a replacement iMac. But it's not working. I'm not getting a curser for test entry in any of the three apps. Existing documents open OK but there is no content displayed,
    ANy ideas what's going on?
    Russ

Two things you may not have done.
First, use the Mac OS 10.6.3 combo updater. This fixes a problem with the Hoefler Text font that is not fixed using the delta update (10.6.1 > 10.6.2).
Second, make sure your iWork applications are updated. For iWork '08 that is Pages 3.0.3 & Numbers 1.0.3. For iWork '09 it's Pages 4.0.3 & Numbers 2.0.3. If you're not running the latest versions & Software Update says your software is up to date, make sure the applications are where the installer initially put them. The updaters are very picky. If the location is not where the updater is programmed to look or if the folder doesn't have the name the updater looks for, it will not work. The applications cannot be renamed or moved. They must be in the iWork '08 or iWork '09 folder in Applications. That iWork folder must be named iWork '08 or iWork '09. If it doesn't have the '08 or '09 Software Update won't find them & the updaters won't work.

Have you moved Pages from its installed location? Or just dragged a copy to your current system?
It can't find some of its resources apparently.

  • Error while opening systemproperties it say reinstall UCM without root uses

UCM 11g gives error while opening Systemproperties applet, it says UCM is installed by root user reinstall it without root user. We have installed the UCM from a non root user however we are getting this error and non of the applet is opening which are in ../bin/ folder.
Is there a way this error can be fixed.
    Thanks,
    Rajiv

do you have any directories owned by root? I've seen some nfs issues change ownership of mounted directories when they're remounted.
is anything in the /bin/ directory owned by root?
I think you should be safe to chown back to your install user.

As I own also a MacbookPro from 2009, is it possible to reset also the iMac using the disc of my Macbook,
or is it possible to restore it using my apple Id, with the purchased Mountain Lion / Mavericks via internet recovery.
Thank you for your quick answers,

    Thank you
Brick and mortar stores will not carry the disc, you can get it online on Apple's online store. If you are in the USA the link is:

  • My pages are not working on Mountain Lion. I reinstalled iWork from the CD updated it  to 9.3 restarted computer and it still doesn't work. What else I can do? Heeelp!

The Pages stop working on my computer when I upgraded OS to Mountain Lion. I reinstalled iWork from CD and updated to 9.3 version from Apple store. I also restarted computer before opening the iWork. It still doesn't work. It keeps giving me the error page. The same thing with Numbers. Only Keynotes opens.  What else can I do? Heeelp please!

We are not omniscient. Use screencapture on the error page. Shift + Command + 4 … then drag the cross-hairs around the error, and release. The Screen Shot will be written to your Desktop. Use the camera icon in this editor’s tool bar to embed that Screen Shot of your error in a follow-up post here.
Did you move the Pages and Numbers applications out of /Application/iWork ’09 folder, where they are expected to reside? Did you run /Applications/Utilities/Disk Utility.app, and on your boot drive, verify/repair permissions?
