Reinstalling logic pro 8 prblem plz advise

Hi guys
Uninstalled logic studio 8 and am reinstalling
when it comes to the things to install i have a list
logic pro
soundtrack pro
mainstage
wavewburner
compressor
logic studio content
tools
Hardware support
everything is ticked except compressor which say skip and there is no way of highlighting it to tick it
the only thing not deleted is the qmaster and the qadministrator are there are they meant to be trashed ?
any help on sorting this much appreciated.

Yea I am. I deleted Logic Pro 9 and moved the App to the Trashcan like normal. Then when I go to install it, it says its already Installed. When I do this with other apps; it works fine, the install thing comes back up like it should once you have deleted the app

Trying to reinstall logic pro and serial number is coming up invalid

I had to reformat my hard drive and I'm trying to reinstall logic pro 9 but the serial munger is coming up as invalid.

If you bought the upgrade DVD version of Logic Studio 2.0 originally.. (LP8 to LP9) then read the dialog boxes carefully as it will ask you to enter the LP8 Full serial as well as the LP9 upgrade serial....
Otherwise, if you are sure you are entering the Full version serial of LP9 correctly.... (Its easy to mistake zeros for O's for example)

If you still have the receipt or other proof of purchase, you can ask Apple to send you the serial. Otherwise, bad luck mate.. Good news is, you can now buy Logic Pro 9 from App Store for just 199 USD

How to uninstall Logic Pro 8 and Reinstall Logic Pro 7.2?

For numerous reasons I'd like to uninstall Logic Pro 8 and return to Logic Pro 7, the reasons for which I'd rather not discuss, as I'd like to focus on the reinstallation task.
Apple states that Logic Pro 7 still functions, but this is not entirely correct. Since many instruments were replaced, the complex 50-track songs that I painstakingly mixed on pure LP7 (prior to the upgrade) now sound completely different in LP7 post-LP8 install (as well as LP8 as you can imagine). It seems that the levels are actually different on some of the EXS and other instruments. Yes, Apple says they are richer and better, but I really don't care. I am in the middle of a CD and need to return to the state I was in prior to the upgrade.
Ultimately I'd like to reinstall Logic Pro 7 and/or its content in order to get all of my original instruments back.
Does anyone have a procedure for this? Should I uninstall Logic Pro 8 and then perform a complete reinstall of Logic Pro 7 following Apple's procedure? Or should I simply use Pacifist to replace the content files that were replaced? Will any of my preferences (plug-in settings) be lost during a reinstall? Should the rest of Logic Studio be uninstalled as well?

P.S. I'm just looking for a procedure and do not wish to discuss the reasons, which you'll find all over the forums.

I just spoke to Apple and they recommended an "Erase and Restore" of the entire system, and a reinstall of Logic 7 in order to get me back to where I was - do you agree? *Yes, that is the preferred method but only if you are willing or in a position to start from scratch i.e re-installing all 3rd party apps, hardware drivers ect. Remember to back up all your important files.*

Plug-ins unavailable after reinstalling Logic Pro 7.2 upgrade

I have been running Logic Pro 7.2 which was purchased as an upgrade from Logic Gold with an Emagic XS key. Everything had been running fine until recently when I had to reformat my startup partition and reinstall everything.
Reinstalling Logic Gold seemed to be straight forward. It booted up as normal with all Logic and third party plug-ins appearing in their drop down folders when selecting a plug in.
I then proceeded to reinstall Logic Pro 7.2 upgrade only to find that all of Logic's AU plug-ins and third party plug-ins were no longer available to me within Logic Pro 7.2...?
I'm absolutely puzzled by this. Can any anyone help me?

I was wondering the same thing, as I've recently done this as well (bought LP after owning LE, that is). I was always wondering whether or not I needed it there, or even GB for that matter. I almost deleted LE/GB, until I realized that the programs themselves aren't taking up that much space. What takes up the most space are the sample libraries, apple loops (at least the non-midi ones), and perhaps some of the plugins. As far as I can tell, Logic Pro will install as a separate app, but it will share all of the file resources with LE and GB, and just add extra stuff on top (like the ES2, Scultpure, etc etc). I don't think you'd be saving all that much space getting rid of LE.
Besides, having LE around means that you don't ALWAYS need the xskey. Perfect for anyone running a laptop.

I took the serial number from the "About" box when Logic was still installed but no good. The software was originally an upgrade, and I don't think I have the disks for the previous version. What do I do? This is important because I only use the computer for music. Thank you.

There's actually an even simpler solution that doesn't include buying a new version of Logic. He can use his original version easily. Of course, that depends if the OP knows how to effectively use his computer though...

Trouble reinstalling Logic Pro 8

last week i format my iMac and installed everything from Installation discs (Mac OS X 10.4.4) so i updated Mac OS to 10.4.11
when i tried to install Logic Pro 8 iMac asks me for QuickTime 7.2 i installed it and then asked for updating Pro Application Support to version 4, i downloaded it but it doesn´t work, i tried with ProKit 4.5 and same results, i also tried to install all Pro App Support updates from iMac purchase date (June 2006) but also doesn't work
Any clue??

you need to update your system before install Logic...
after go to software update...

use "Archive and Install" option

How do I reinstall Logic Pro X ?

My version of Logic Pro X has crashed, won't load any projects and won't turn off...won't let me shut down computer either. How do I install a freash version of the program...I have already paid for it. (Using Mavericks)

Depends how you define "reinstall"
You can re-download the app by deleting it from the apps folder and then go to the App Store, login with your Apple ID that you used to buy Logic Pro X and download the app.
However, if you have issues with Logic, the chances are that it is not the app, but some corrupted preference files. Deleting those files first, might help to solve the problem.
Just log in to a different user on your computer and see if you get the same problem. If not, then it is definitely some file in the user directory.

You had mentrioned that Miro is unstable. When I go into recording mode in a month or so should I make sure to NOTR have any Philharmonik plug-ins loaded? In the file I will be recording to?

How to import VEC1-3 packs into Logic Pro 9. help plz

Hello everyone, not sure if this has been answered (couldn't find nothing by searching) but i need help trying to import the VEC1,2,3 (Vengeance Essential Club sound pack) into logic pro. The samples/sounds/loops are all wav format.

If you own the Logic Studio disks you will need to re-install from them (with the original serial number).
If you bought Logic Pro 9 from the AppStore you can re-download once you have logged in to the AppStore with the ID that you used to buy it in the first place.

Reinstalling Logic pro onto new machine

I have Logic pro originally with XS key now I want to install it on a new machine but dont have the original disc lost in a house move. Have the serial number and the key but using Migration assistant transfers but wont open also tried copying the application directly from and to the respective app's folders, same cant message... What can I do?

I was just going to write about this as well! I have moved reacently and have a new mbp. I want to move my logic 9 studio to my mbp instead of my imac. I have all my keys/Serial #'s just can't find my disks for 9. Now I found my Logic 8 disks but can't install that b/c it does not work with Lion. Is there anyway to just transfer it from my imac?
