I want to reinstall my Mac OS X 10.5, but I've lost my CD which was shipped with mac.
If Apple has such service which can send CD to me? Or smth like that? Of course, for small fee...

If you tried using a Snow Leopard install package to install Snow Leopard that shipped with a new Mac purchase, the OS X install package that ships with a new Mac purchase is model specific.
Contact Apple or AppleCare to request a replacement Leopard install package that shipped with your Mac when new. -
Mac book starts up well, but without screen
HI guys!
today i restarted my Macbook pro-Lion, after starting up, i have no screen,even no gray screen or nothing els. However, my keyboard works; lightening,sound control or other keys are working properly. I can control the volume, and also control of keyboard lightening is available. when i close my Laptop, it will be hibernated without any problem, but i can See nothing on my screen! (Notice that gray screen at start up DOESN'T appear)
I tried following steps, but without any result:

dThe symptoms suggest that your MBP has an issue with the GPU, display or display connection. If you have an external monitor to connect to your MBP and it works properly, then it is the display or the connection to the display that is faulty. If the monitor is also black, then it is the GPU that is the problem.
Foe a definitive analysis, an appointment at an Apple store genius bar is a good option. The evaluation will be FREE.

I had creative cloud installed in a parallels deskto virtual machine on my mac, I delete the virtual machine without deactivate the creative cloud. after reinstall a new VM running windows 8.1. pro 64 bits, I downloaded the creative cloud installer but it does not install ang give an Error code 72, it is assuming that I already are using the Creative cloud in 2 computer, but itis no the case, how to solve this situation?
Dave: I did the Microsoft Update two days before this happened, and rebooted as required. I just created a new restore point and lauched Creative Cloud. Now I get the famous white screen:

Fortunately, I saved away this command (which I've had to use 4 or 5 times already):
del %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\Adobe\OOBE\opm.db
Unfortunately now, I get this (even after closing the above window):
The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process.
So I killed everything that said "Adobe" in the task manager and this time, the command succeeded.
Fortunately, the current apps seem to still work. I can't seem to find the "Creative Cloud" app in the applications on my system, but I launched Photoshop CC, told it to look for updates, and got a list of the 5 prgorams that need updates in the Adobe Application manager:

My phone is not showing up in itunes. I want to sync it. I have a MAC and I have restarted the phone, it's charged, I have the most current version of itunes. What do I do now? It says to reinstall itunes if you have windows but not for mac. Help!
With your phone plugged in, open Image Capture and see if the iPhone shows up. If not, you are having a sync problem. If it shows up in Image Capture, but not iTunes, I'd delete iTunes and reinstall it.

After reinstalling MAC OS 10.6.8, I config the permissions to read/write/no access, my MacMini [mid 2010] refuses to reboot. I tried to reboot in safe mode with Command+S and fsck, but after the steps to be taken, it says fscs not done, root device is read only. I also tried to bypass the Mac firmware password by taking one Ram card out and reboot the macmini while holding COMMAND+OPTION+P+R. But no luck. The macmini is not able to see the mac OSX installation CD.

How and where did you change which permissions? And what was the goal?
Do you have a complete backup of your system? and more importantly data files?
What happened that prompted the need to reinstall the 10.6.8 update?
The immediate road forward would be to boot from the optical drive and revert the changes you made.
What happens when you boot with the install cd and hold down C or hold down the option key?

you can download the mac os x recovery hd and run the setup to a flash drive using another mac computer running os x 10.7,(so that while installation the os x setup can varify your computer's serial no. and provide you the installation setup through internet)
or the time machine backup(if you have)

How to reinstall mac os x without erase boot camp?
Situation:Today, i was using mac os x this morning, it worked fine. then when i went home from work, start up the macbook pro, it took like 4-5 minutes to start the login, then take 30-45 secs, then the desktop starting to freeze!
Notes: I have Boot Camp on it.
Question: Can i reinstall mac os x without erasing the boot camp patition?
Thank you to reply!Yes, if you think it's necessary you can hold c and boot off the installer OS X disk for your 10.6 and simply reinstall OS X and bundled programs right over the previous ones without it touching your files or other programs.
However, you should take ANY opportunity to transfer your files off the computer (manually, not via TimeMachine) just in case there is a bigger issue afoot, like a failing hard drive.
You might also want to take a look at the free OnyX, run all the maintainence and cleaning aspects and reboot.

Mac OSX 10.6.8 running Photoshop CS5. My hard drive went belly up. Installed a new one and then tried to install Photoshop from my backup. I get an error message 6 telling me to uninstall Photoshop and then reinstall from the original software. But I bought from Adobe online. How do I go about this?
Yes, the Old Master file has a folder for each year where I find all photos from that specific year. I am attaching a screen shot of the file.
In the meantime i have managed to download all photos (it did not download any video files though in mpg, avi, 3gp, m4v,mp4 and mov format) to a new iphoto library. Unfortunately the photos are quite mixed and often doubled up. I ma considering to purchase iphoto library which checks all duplicates in iphoto. this will save me a lot of time. What do you think? -
My comp with Windows7 doesn´t recognise iPhone 5c. I reinstalled USB drivers,iTunes,restarted both devices but without positive result. iPad is recognised on the same comp without problems. Could me somebody help?

You can do it, but you need another library signed in to iTunes match. That second library shouldn't have any local files stored.
Delete the entry from that second library and it will ask you to confirm that you want to remove the file from the cloud. Confirm that you do.
Now, as long as you don't delete the file from your main library it will have an iCloud status of "removed" and won't be in the cloud or try add it again.
However, if you sign out of match on that computer and then sign in again it will then re-add it to the cloud, so this isn't a method to use if you tend to turn match on and off much.
I have had the Beatles Mono albums in my main library, but not in the cloud, for a while now without any problems. -

HELP!!You need to understand the difference between an Update and an Upgrade.
An Update is a free change within an existing Operating System. Such as the .11 added to 10.4.
An Upgrade is a complete new Operating System that must be purchased. Such as 10.5 Leopard to 10.6 Snow Leopard.
You can upgrade from 10.4 to 10.6 with no problems. Any program that runs under 10.4 should run under10.6. See this list for compatibility with 10.6: http://snowleopard.wikidot.com/ You might have to upgrade some drivers for printers, etc.... Mac OS 10.6 Snow Leopard came out in July of 2009 and became obsolete in July of 2011 when 10.7 Lion was introduced. Unlike earlier Operating Systems which were removed from the Apple Store when a new OS came out Apple kept Snow Leopard around for a year until 10.8 Mountain Lion came out. When Mountain Lion came out they removed Snow Leopard and Lion from the online store.
The Early 2006 model 1,1 Core Duo can only run a maximum of 10.6 Snow Leopard. The models Late 2006 Core 2 Duos 2,1 through Early 2008 4,1 can only run a maximum of 10.7 Lion. The Late 2008 model 5,1 Aluminum Unibody through the Mid 2010 White Unibody model 7,1 can run 10.8 Mountain Lion.
The Snow Leopard 10.6 DVD should still be available from Apple for $20. You will have to call Apple Customer Care 1-800-692-7753 or 1-800-676-2775 to purchase it. It may still be in the Legacy Products list.
If they no longer have any in stock you will have to buy it from eBay or Apple resellers that still have stock. But you will have to pay a premium since the DVDs are no longer being made. Snow Leopard DVDs are already up to $100 on Amazon.

Hello, I am trying to reinstall Mac OSX, but my computer does not read installation cd. After restart, I hold C but either eject cd or doesn't read and computer boots up normally. I even ordered a new pack of installation cd, but still the same problem. Is there anybody can help me fixing this issue, because my Macbook pro has lots of software problem and when I spoke to tech, they said it needs to reformat and reinstall the OSX to solve all my problems. Please help me to reinstall my OSX!
Possible solutions:
You need to hold the c key down before booting
You need to use the built in keyboard, you have other hardware connected
You need the machine specific 10.6.4+ disks for that machine, the retail 10.6.3 disks won't work
There is a firmware password on the machine preventing the at boot key command functions
Try the option key for Startup Manager to boot from the disk, right after the "bong"
Your Superdrive lense is dirty or not operating, other hardware issues
You have malware of some sort -

You will need either an Ethernet or Wifi Connection to the Internet - USB Mobile device is not supported.
If you already have Lion installed you can boot to Recovery with Command R and use the Disk Utility to erase the Macintosh HD and then reinstall the OS from the Mac OS X Utilities.
You will need the Apple Id used for purchase if the Mac did not ship with Lion installed originally.
If you want to repartition the HDD you can use the Recovery Disk Assistant to make a recovery USB drive

As Always - Back up the Mac before erasing unless you are confident there is absolutely nothing on the mac that you might possibly need later.

Any ideas?You can do a dual boot.
In Lion, open Applications->Utilities->Disk Utility.
Click on the actual hard drive (not the 'Macintosh HD' partition).
Click on the 'Partitions' tab; then the + a the bottom of the 'Partition Layout'. Resize your new partition if you want.
Make sure the format is 'Mac OS Extended (Journaled).
Click Options and make sure the partition map scheme is GUID partition table. (can't remember if this is necessary).
Click Apply.
Insert your SL DVD and restart. During the restart press and hold 'C' so it boots from the DVD.
Choose your new partition to install SL.
One word of caution, you may lose your Lion Recovery HD partition. If so, you would need to reinstall Lion on top of itself to recreate it.
In terminal type... diskutil list and see if you see that partition after your SL install.
