Reinstalling Microsoft Office without CD, or burnign a copy of CD
I was wondering if it was posible to either reinstall Microsoft Word without using the install CD, (if you have the activation code). or is it possible to burn a copy of the program if you do have the original disk, and if so does the same activation code work for the same machine two different times?
Hi Brian!
Microsoft Word is not an Apple product. You'll probably get better answers to your question if you post in a Microsoft forum dedicated to Word for Mac. Have a look here <http://groups-beta.google.com/group/microsoft.public.mac.office.word>. Be sure to search that forum first. Someone may have already asked this question and you may find your answer in just a few minutes.
Good luck! bill

How do I reinstall microsoft office 2011 on my computer?
HI,
I have bought Microsoft Office 2011 with my macbook. I factory reset it without backing up any application so I lost my office programs. I tried to reinstall two ways... One with the CD that came in the box, and online, but both had the same negative result.
I got terminal to open everytime I try to open the install folder in the .dmg file. I don't know how to reinstall Microsoft Office!
Help please!
Thanks. This really is a user-to-user discussion forum for the MacBook Pro, specifically for hardware issues (thought we go off topic on occasion). You really need to take your question, if you have the product key, to the Microsoft website. They also have a vibrant discussion area, and I'm sure someone will help you. If you have the product key.

How to reinstall Microsoft Office for Mac after new hard drive?
Recently I had a problem with my Macbook Pro, and unfortunately had to purchase a new hard drive and have it installed. This also led to the loss of data and other things, such as Microsoft Office for Mac. I know this is an Apple community, but I get better answers here than at the Microsoft communities so I'm hoping someone can help find out how to reinstall Microsoft Office 2013. I logged onto my Microsft account and it says that there is no record of me purchasing Microsoft Office on that account but I know thats the account that it was purchased on, so i cannot get my product key to reinstall it as directed. Someone please help!!!!
Try calling MS support and explaining the situation, maybe they will issue a new key.

Unable to reinstall Microsoft Office 2008
The Genius Bar reinstalled my operating system (Mavericks). I have been unable to reinstall Microsoft Office 2008 for Mac. It doesn't seem to even be able to read the CD. Should I be able to install Microsoft Office 2008 or will I be forced to upgrade to 2011?
My experience with Microsoft Office on the Mac is that when reinstalling an operating system, Office asks you to resupply your authorization credentials. As I recall, that is something like a twenty character code that identifes you as a legitimate purchaser.
Once your Mavericks was reinstalled, how did you recover whatever you had on your machine previously? Was it still in place? Did you recover it from a backup? Did you attempt to run Microsoft Office from either the backup or where it had been before attempting the CD approach? -
I need to reinstall microsoft office but no longer have the key. Is there a way around this?

Reinstalling Microsoft Office 2008?
I'm planning to uninstall Microsoft Office 2008 to try out Microsoft 2011. If I don't like Mircrosoft 2011, will I able to reinstall Microsoft 2008? I have the disc for Mircrosoft Office 2008, but I was thinking that installing it from the disc was a "one-time" thing.
Main question: Will I be able to reinstall Microsoft Office 2008?Hello
if is for test you don't need to uninstall Microsoft 2008 , just install both
disk intallation can be used many time with out any problem , the licence to use software is one per computer , you need to keep safe your installation key come from software pakage
Will I be able to reinstall Microsoft Office 2008? YES

I needed to have my computer wiped, and then restored. All of my applications were stored through timeline on my harddrive. Among them was Microsoft Office. I put everything back on the computer after it was wiped, and it is telling me to please re install Microsoft office. The problem is is that I do not have the CD because Microsoft Office was preinstalled onto my computer. How do I reinstall it without the CD?
Do you mean Time Machine? After a complete restore, MS Office will always ask for the activation code again, but it's odd that you would get a message that it needs to be reinstalled... how did you use TM to restore MS Office?

Solved!
Go to Solution.the pre-installed office application is/was trial version, you can use it only 60 days if you don't have serial number.
check under your computer for ms office license sticker. ( if you don't, you need to buy a copy of office ) -
To start at the begining....no, that's not fair, that goes all the way back to March 24th!
My hard drive has been wiped clean twice now...First time was not by MY choice...the guy from India just talked me through it, with no warning of what was going to be the result. What a nightmare!
This 2nd time when I have "retrieved" my files from my external hard drive...my documents are there....just can't open them!
Following messages when opening Word or Outlook:
"Please wait...."etc. "Configuration in Progress Microsoft Office Home and Business".... which takes forever!
Then:
"Your AutoCorrect file: c:\users\Tosi\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Office\MSO1033.acl, could not be saved. the file may be read only, or you man not have permission to modify the file."
Then:
"Word cannot open existing file (Normal)
In tyring to open Outlook...
Big Red cirlce with an X in it: Could not install the custom actions. The form Cache file c:\users\Tosi\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Forms\FRMCACHE>DAT is not valid. Contact your administrator.
The same message as Word "Your AutoCorrcet....etc....MSO1033.acl ...etc. "
I have tried to change permissions...no luck. How to I get FULL control over my own computer? Please!
When I do finally get Outlook open, nothing is in there. I looked for my Outlook Data folder and I see that my .pst data file is in 5 places, yet it is not connecting with Outlook. No mail, address or calendar are in there. (to back
track...the first time I retrieved my stuff off the hard drive everything worked)
Microsoft has promissed numerous times to assit me to resolve these problems through very lovely emails but no one has called to follow up and help me. I really need help and I am running out of patience.
Soon I will be saying "Goodbye Microsoft! Goodbye Dell! Hello Apple!"
Help please!
Thank you,
SMTosiAs per your description, seems the installation of Office have got completely corrupted. I would suggest you to completely remove Office 2010 from your computer and then reinstall it.
For how to remove/uninstall Office from your computer, I would suggest you to use Microsoft Fix It tool:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/971179
After uninstalling Office, please restart your computer then try a reinstallation. If you don't have the Office 2010 installation source or DVD, please go to this website to get Office 2010 installation package:
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/products/microsoft-office-2010-backup-FX101853122.aspx (you might need to provide the product key of Office 2010)
Hope this helps. Thanks a lot for your patience.
Thanks,

Reinstalling Microsoft Office 2007
We purchased our computer fully loaded at a local retailer.
They did not provide us with the CD's so we could reinstall our software in the event of a crash.
We need to install Microsoft Office 2007.
Does anyone know how we go about reinstalling any of the software that came already loaded on the computer?A Toshiba computer? Which model? There is a label on the bottom.

I reinstalled Microsoft Office:mac 2011 Home
I reinstalled Office:mac 2011 Home&Student on my MacBook Pro 2011 after having a new hard drive & cable installed. Nothing in Office will open. There's a dot beside some of the apps on the dock as if they're open, but nothing opens. What should I do? What does this mean?
Did you reinstall it from the original install disk?
From a digitial download load?

Thank you very much!it will stay as one user.I have done the same thing your are asking about so I am 100% sure. You will need to re-enter the 25 alphanumeric product key however to reactivate it.

Reinstalling Microsoft Office for Mac?
Hey Guys,
Quick question from a relatively new Mac user. Ive run Mac for about a year but havent gotten into the deep end of how some of the mechanics work. I have Microsoft Office for Mac uninstalled but it is still sitting in Applications. Unfortunately Open Office doesnt support the complex margins of my resume and I have to reinstall Office with its host of pop ups and add ons. I still have my product key but cannot find a .dmg file anywhere. I looked at downloading a trial and punching in my key but all downloads required payment up front. I am also not aware of what version I have. Also would it be possible to order a copy on disk or is that extra?
Thanx guys you always are able to answer my questions.
~DouglasI have Microsoft Office for Mac uninstalled but it is still sitting in Applications.
Then you haven't uninstalled it! So which files did you uninstall?
I still have my product key but cannot find a .dmg file anywhere.
You probably trashed it. More than likely the uninstaller was inside the .dmg file.
I am also not aware of what version I have.
Highlight the icon>File>Get Info.
Also would it be possible to order a copy on disk or is that extra?
You would need to ask Microsoft since it's their product. Where did you purchase MW from? If from the AS, open up the App Store app which is on your Dock. Click on "Purchases." Otherwise, you should contact the vendor from where you purchased MW from.

Can I reinstall microsoft office 2008 with the same cd key
I want to reformat my mackbook back to factory settings. However, will I be able to re-use the same license for Microsoft office that I first used?
Thanks,
Diego M.So when you intitially install, how is the CD key tied to that installation? In other words, whats to stop me from using that CD key to install on every other computer? (besides the ethical - illegal nature). Dont get me wrong. This is a legal CD key that I purchased. I am afraid that it wont work when I reformat my mac.
