Reinstalling OS 10.4 over an OS 10.5... What kind of back up works better?

Hi every one, I have upgraded my old iBook G4 (1.33) to Leopard, but after a while, I can't see much benefit of it, and the computer was faster on Tiger (Tiger is 10.4?).
How could I back up everything and go back to Tiger on the easy way?, Could I just "replace" my home directory with the backed up one?.
I think I will get 10.5 when I decide to leave my iBook (I actually love that computer, and keep thinking of it like my best buy ever) and get a new MacBook. But so far, I love to get the most of it, with 10.4.
All the help I can get to do this "step back" could be useful. Thanks a lot from Argentina.

If you don't have a backup clone of your previous Tiger system, there really is no easy way to do this. It's not as straightforward as just reverting to an earlier version of the same OS release. Do a Discussions Search here for "Revert to Tiger," over all the forums and all dates, and you will get an idea.
Migration Assistant requires OS X to be installed on the source, but even if you now cloned your entire Leopard system to another volume and did an erase and install of Tiger, Migration Assistant would still not work - Tiger's version does not recognize or import from a Leopard system. If instead you tried to use an Archive and Install of Tiger over Leopard, the Archive and Install option to "Preserve Users and Network Settings" will be greyed out - Tiger will not Preserve Users of a previous Leopard system. And even without preserving users, an Archive and Install of Tiger over Leopard might result in some applications not working properly.
I think the only reliable option would be a long, manual slog - backup all your data, do an Erase and Install of Tiger, update it to 10.4.11 and get the other software updates, re-install all your apps, and then restore your user data manually from the backup. I don't think this is worth doing if your Leopard system is currently functional.

Have a look at > snow leopard and rosetta: Apple Support Communities and see if anything there helps.
Optionally you might want to consider installing Tiger on a properly formatted External Hard Drive partition > Apple Tips: Using Disk Utility 1. Format, Erase, or Reformat a Drive, then boot into it for running those PPC App's and keep your iMac on 10.6.

It should work, but it's an unmitigated mess. Simplest is to boot into recovery mode and reinstall the OS.

I just got the iBooks update and that fixed the problem, except the book covers look like they were done in a government printing office.

After Windows update in april 2014 I cant any longer use the scanning funktion via network from Canon MF8330 Cdn multifunktion printer/fax/scanner machine! It worked fine Before the april Windows update installation.
I have reinstalled with Canons driver kit 2005b för Windows 7 64 bit. All works fine until the scanner installation ends, then system report that it cannot install the scanner and I have to try installing again. I have done that now several times but it helps not. I Think it has something to do with that the Canon scanner drivers isn´t 64 bit files, or the problem is that windows update has replaces saome dll file to a never version that not work with Canon drivers.
I have seen that there is a service pack 1 from Canon för Windows 8 and 8,1, can I use that service pack to get a never dll file for scanner or work this only for windows 8 version.
Have someone a solution to this! I have contacted the Canon support already and they say that its a Microsoft problem!

Hi!
I am installing the drivers from Canons site. It is the newest version 2005b for Windows 7 64 bit to MF8330Cdn Canon multifunction printer/fax/scanner. Installation goes well for the printer and fax but not for scanner drivers. The error message is Could not install the scanner. In device manager is there then a unknown device under Image devices. In Device Manager I try to update drivers, but it does not help either, error message is access denied. I am logged on the system with administrator account, therfore it is strange that I get the error message access denied.
I tried earlier to do system restore back to previous time, but it did not work, error was that the system could not do the system restore because of access rights.
is there anything else I could do.
Here is the MF36SCN.inf file for scanner installation from Canon, if it can help You to go further with the problem. Is there something strange in the inf file that does not work in Windows 7 64 bit Windows, something shows that ther is also same 32 bits parts in the inf file.

How I fixed it, at least for now:
1. I've been using OC Genie for a few days, it has been working great on Windows but I guess it was causing many games to crash to the desktop so I decided to turn it off, since then the memory issue started to happen, since this morning.
2. I can only think of my computer got OC Genie addicted, like addiction to crack or cocaine, and the memory, or call it nervous system, wanted more OC Genie, so it gave it to him and bingo, my 4GB readable, but then I used of trickery and deceit to disable OC Genie again and my 4GB is back again without OC Genie.

The shuffle icon in iTunes disappears, after you click on the icon in iTunes? If so, if you do not click on the shuffle icon in iTunes, does it remain there indefinitely? Are you looking at the shuffle icon in the iTunes sidebar?

i have tried all that and it still comes up with the same message or doesnt open at all . I have also i have created a new user and itunes works fine on that account.

Aren't they in your iTunes library? If so, sync them back to your phone. If not, redownload them (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2519).

Wow that is so unlucky. If I was you I would try talking to someone at the Apple Store, explain your situation and don't be shy to shed a tear or too. Its just a shame 3 weeks after your phone getting hardware problems. I know people will say, oh buy Apple Care but I feel ya and I know adding that extra money in the beginning feels pointless and expensive.
Worst case scenarion like I said you will have to pay Apple 269 for them to swap phones. Or if you have any nerd friends have them fix it for you. Its a tedious repair the way the power button has some weird hinge that needs to snap on and ribbons are so thin. I do not advise for you to attempt to fix your self unless you don't care if you break it completely.
Alternatively you could just turn on Assisitive touch on accessibility and use that. That way you wont need to pay anything to fix your phone and wont need to take it apart either.

Depending on what country that you are in you might be able to re-download past music purchases via the Purchased link under Quick Links on the right-hand side of the iTunes store home page - re-downloading : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2519
But if you only re-installed iTunes and you didn't remove the actual music from your computer, then it should still be on there, and you should be able to add it back into iTunes via File > Add Folder To Library - by default your iTunes content should have been stored under :
Windows 7 and Vista : \users\username\My Music\iTunes.
Windows XP : \user\Documents and Settings\username\My Documents\My Music\iTunes.
