Reinstalling Photoshop Elements 11 from the beginning

I am using Photoshop Elements 11 Organiser and the system has become so corrupted that I want to start again from the very  beginning. I have all of my photographs on memory sticks so I am not concerned about deleting photographs by mistake. I want to start again from scratch and with a clear Organiser.
In an effort to delete all of the Folders I tried deleateing Photoshop Elements and then reinstalling it but when I looked at the Folders after reinstalling the program, they were there exactly the same as they were before I deleated the Program. I want to clear out all of the folders from the Organiser and then start again.
I would appreciate your assistance in clearing the Folders and allowing me to start again from the beginning.
Thank you
David Maddams

    Hi,
Can you please confirm whether the volume on which you are installing Photoshop Elements is Case Sensitive or Case In-Sensitive? To find this out you will need to perform the following steps:
    1. Launch /Applications/Utilities/Disk Utility.app
    2. Click on the Disk from the left panel (Not the Partition)
    3. Click on the Partition Tab
    4. Check the text that is written in the Format Tab. Is it Mac OS Extended (Case-sensitive, Journaled)?
If it is Case-sensitive, Journaled, then you will have to make this volume as Case-Insensitive by selecting Mac OS Extended (Journaled) as PSE is currently not supported on case sensitive volumes.
    Thanks,
    Tarun

  • Due to Photoshop Elements 12 Organizer I uninstalled the program.  When I re-installed Photoshop Elements 12 on the same computer the "Photoshop Elements 12.0.exe" file is not available.  I have tried loading Photoshop Elements 12 from the Adobe web site

Due to Photoshop Elements 12 Organizer I uninstalled the program.  When I re-installed Photoshop Elements 12 on the same computer the "Photoshop Elements 12.0.exe" file is not available.  I have tried loading Photoshop Elements 12 from the Adobe web site without success.

The Elements 12 shortcut can't find the Elements12.0.exe file so the program will not load.  I can load the editor from its .exe file but not the organizer.

  • How to reinstall Photoshop Elements without losing the catalog?

    Hello all,
I find myself in an awkward situation.
For a reason unknown, it seems an essential file for Photoshop Organizer has been deleted. I suspect a disk cleanup utility to have been a bit overzealous. Anyway the harm is done.
When I try to start Organizer I get a message telling me that it can't start cause "DetectionUtils.dll" can not be found. The reinstallation of this application could correct this problem". Starting Editor is not a problem however.
I wanted to try out reinstalling Photoshop Elements but when I launch the installation the only option I have is uninstalling Photoshop as the instal program just like Windows considers Photoshop is still installed on my computer.
My catalog is huge: I have tagged 26 000+ photos and videos. I don't want to lose it. Of course, I have backups but I want to get it back into Photoshop.
So what are my options? How can I manage to get Photoshop 8.0 working again with my catalog?
The simplest solution would be to be able to download the Detectionutils.dll file and install it but where can I download it and where do I save it?
    Any other ideas?
    Thanks in advance!

Did an uninstall and a reinstall, Elements worked again and I got my Catalog back!
Thanks a lot for the quick answer dj_paige!

  • I bought Photoshop Elements 10 from the Apple App store

I downloaded the camera raw update 6.6 but it will not install. I get an error about this application is not supported.
There is no update menu on the Elements 10 on my version of Photoshop Elements.

I have the same problem as you. I bought Adobe Photoshop Elements 10 Editor from Mac App Store. Now I have Camera Raw 6.5 installed.

  • I have used firefox for 3 or 4 years, today it would not open. I had to reinstall and start over from the beginning. I lost a lot of bookmarks and preferences.

Adobe installed an update, which restarted my desktop pc. After restarting I was unable to open Firefox browser. So, I clicked on Firefox, and then run as... first I tried running as... and chose my name. Firefox browser still would not open. Then I chose administrator which opened Firefox browser, but, as a new Firefox installation. It did contain add-ons, but not book marks, history, downloads or preferences. Now i have started over from the beginning. Is there any way I can restore lost bookmarks and preferences? Do you think system restore would help?

Are there still JSON backups in the bookmarkbackups folder?

  • I just went to upgrade my photoshop elements 13 from the trail version

I bought the software and got the serial numbers - but every time I enter it in it says that the serial number is not valid for Photoshop Elements 13.  Help!!!!

  • Why does the image not open in Elements when I opt for Edit in Photoshop Elements 11 from the Photos tab in Aperture?

With an image in Aperture, when I got Photos one of the options offered is "Edit in Elements Photoshop 11", but although selecting this opens Elements, there is no image and it is necessary to open the image in the normal way from within Elements.  Other plugins, e.g. from Topaz work superbly from within Aperture.  I am puzzled to know the reason, and in particular if there is any setting in either Aperture of Elements that need to be attended to.  I would be very grateful for any suggestions.
    Barry Willcock

Hi Frank, and many thanks.   I can now get the picture into Elements, and work on it.  However, when I have finished, I save it (giving it another name that I can recognise if the amendments are slight) it puts the file back into the same folder, but I have then to import it into the Aperture library in order to see it back in Aperture.  Not a big problem, but an interesting one.
    Again, many thanks

  • I tried to reinstall photoshop elements on my Mac with my serial number,  because my computer crashed and I lost Elements.  Why was the  response was that I could only use the serial number once?

    Hi,
My computer crashed.  I have a Mac OS X Yosemite.  I tried to reinstall photoshop elements 13 with the correct serial number, but got the message that I can only use the serial number o@nce.  How can I reinstall this product? !

your serial number never expires (unless it's made public and is black-listed).
    redemption codes however, do expire.

  • Reinstalled photoshop elements 7 and serial number is rejected

Reinstalled photoshop elements 7 from online adobe account. Used ser# listed on account and is rejected from setup. Verified ser# from written copy in notebook. tech support said to find the answer in forums. seems like everyone has the same issue and no answer???

You need to contact Adobe again using the link below. Use the dropdown menu for boxes (1) & (2) to scroll down the list and choose:
    1. Adobe Photoshop Elements
    2. Adobe ID, and signing-in
    3. Click on the blue button: Still need help? Contact us – then click the area marked chat 24/7, then click “start chat ”
It’s usually possible to start a live chat, if an Adobe agent is free, and often to get the problem fixed right away. Have your serial number available. The agent can directly troubleshoot your system if you agree to activate the Adobe Connect add-on. Insist on speaking with a supervisor if the agent tries to end the call. Members of this forum can't deal with activation issues; so you received poor advice. Good luck.

  • Can't find Twain plug in for Photoshop Elements 12 from App store

I'm running OSX Mavericks and have purchased Photoshop Elements 12 from the App Store. I want to be able to scan things into Elements but the import option is grayed out. I've tried to follow these directions (TWAIN not installed | Photoshop Elements 9 and later) however the file path they describe does NOT exist on my Elements 12 install. There is no ImportModules folder, nor is there even an Optional Plug-Ins folder. I've tried searching (and setting the search to include hidden, system files) but they are not on my machine that I can find.
Any suggestions? I hate to kiss $80 goodbye.

In the app store version, everything is inside the program itself. Right-click PSE>show package contents>contents and you will see it. You will need to authenticate with your OS X password to be able to copy the ImportModules folder to the regular plugins folder.
