Reinstalling Production Premium CS5 on windows 7 without prior deactivation.

Hi,
My Win 7 died randomly and I was unable to deactivate my Copy of CS5.
The adobe suite was installed in a different HDD which I hope is still intact.
When I reinstall Win 7 64bit and my CS5 suite will I have problems in registering it?
Also is there a solution to this problem if the same issue arises in future?
Thanks in advance everyone.

Should get an activation denied message (please note the difference between activation and registration) call the phone number you will be presented with and explain the situation. The representative should give you an additional activation. The process shouldn't take but a few minutes.

    Hi,
I have Adobe Production Premium CS5 for Windows and I recently got a MacBook Pro as part of a Filmaking course I am taking. I am wondering how I could could switch my current version of CS5 to Mac OS X Lion? If need be I would be willing to get rid of my windows version.

  • Adobe Premiere Pro CS5 Dynamic Link not working as part of Production Premium CS5

I ran into a situation whereby I recently reinstalled my Production Premium CS 5 onto a new computer and when trying to run the Dynamic Link out of Premiere PRO CS 5 to create a new After Effects composition, After Effects tried to start up but then crashed with the error that Production Premium was needed.
Yet, I had Production Premium CS5.
(Note:  The crash didn't occur when I simply tried to use Dynamic Link without anything selected in my project or timeline - but the moment I had a clip in my timeline selected to work on it, the dynamic link would not work as covered above.)
In checking around the forums I found various answers to this problem such as rebooting the computer, reformatting hard drives and/or whatever.  This all may be correct.
However, as I just went through that nightmare, I was not anxious to do that again.  So, I called Adobe and the following solution solved the matter in 5 minutes:
    1. Close all your other Adobe applications such as After Effects.
    2. Open up Premiere Pro CS5 and then deactivate it by going to HELP>DEACTIVATE and then Permanently Deactivate.
3.Close the application and restart Premiere Pro CS5.
4.Then do the same to Activate it.
    5. Have your serial number handy and plug it in when prompted.
Solved it right away and worked beautifully.
Not to say there couldn't be more complicated situations, but the above worked and the simpler the better is good for me. And I thought I would post this in case anyone else ran into this problem.

    Thanks for posting your solution.

  • Download version of Production Premium CS5 for PC?

    Hello,
I'm a registered user of Production Premium CS5 and I recently switched back to the PC platform.  I am hoping someone in the community can somehow get me a copy of the download PC version, if it ever existed, of the Production Premium CS5?
I spent 2.5 hours on hold with Adobe support only to have the rep, and the supervisor, tell me that my software is obsolete (which I felt was like saying I didn't matter anymore) and that my only option was to pay $750 for an upgrade to CS6 and therefore be able to cross over platforms.  That was really insulting.
Every other piece of software I use, and I use a lot, from other companies of course, offers both PC and Mac versions of software if you purchase a license.  I am a legitimate and supportive Adobe user, meaning I don't take advantage of the torrents one can easily get their hands on without passing a cent Adobe's way, and this is how I am thanked.  Really crappy Adobe.  I understand you're the big dog on the block, but do you really have to capitalize on that??
Any help from anyone will be greatly appreciated.
    Cheers,
    Jeremy

However, if you don't have a CS5 for Windows serial number then the Mac version of CS5 will only run for 30 days (being a Trial). After that you need a CS5 serial for Mac which you can no longer obtain.
If you don't join the Cloud then your remaining option is to purchase a crossgrade to CS6 for Windows.

    Bill

For what it's worth, I just went through and extended session with Adobe support re: CS5.5 throwing an error up front, i.e., aborting the installation before it got under way. It turned out my problem was with the Adobe Flash Player. Apparently, if you've updated your flash player to a later version than is included in the CS5.5 installer, it will throw an error. In my case, I had just updated my Flash Player to 10.3 a day or 2 before I tried to install PP CS5.5. The cure was uninstalling Adobe Flash Player 10 Active X and Plugin and running the installation again, which encountered no errors/problems. I went ahead and updated to Flash Player 10.3 afterwards with no problems (so far).
If my memory serves me correctly, a couple of weeks when I installed Design Premium CS5.5, I got an error message after the installation that mentioned the Flash Player, but I couldn't detect any problems with with any of the programs I subsequently used. I think at that time I was running and updated version of Flash Player 10, but am pretty sure I had not installed 10.3 at that time. I'm guessing that whether it throws a pre or post installation error may depend on which package your installing and/or which Flash Player 10+ version your using.

  • Confusing list of items installing Production Premium CS5

I'm installing Production Premium CS5 (upgrade from CS3 using serial number, onto a new machine).
The list of items to be installed, "all" of which are checked (on) by default, includes the following two items:
    · Photoshop CS5 (64-bit)
    · Photoshop CS5
When I mouse over each to see a brief description, they're identical. The 64-bit version is larger.
I would normally just leave "all" selected and proceed with the install. But I'm a bit confused by how this is presented -- and with no explanations about it.
    It is a 64-bit system.
Do I leave "all" items checked, or do I uncheck the latter instance of Photoshop before proceeding with the installation?
    Thanks.
    Jay

Well, it seems they both need to be installed. After uninstalling both, I found it won't let me install the 64-bit version without also installing the 32-bit version.
Now, to "wonder" what the impact is of opening one version versus the other. Why do I have to have two installations of the same program?
And why in the world would they not have a stitch of documenation anywhere to explain any of this?
Really disappointing. This is, after all, Adobe, not Joe's Bait & Tackle.

  • PC version of OnLocation with Mac version of Production Premium CS5

I'm asking this question for a friend of mine who just received the Mac version of the Production Premium CS5 bundle. He edits using a Mac, but does his field work on a PC (predominantly using a laptop for P2 offloading). I use all PC, so I don't know how the cross-platforming works, but he was wondering if it's possible to install a Windows version of OnLocation on his laptop, or if one is even available a la carte. I know the license provides for multiple installs of OnLocation in your given platform that are separate/additional to your two given installs of the bundle, but is there even this availability for cross-platform workflows?

Would it be possible to upgrade my CS5 version to CS6, then perform a cross-platform exchange?
Yes, you just purchase the CS6 upgrade version for Mac, enter your Mac CS6 Upgrade serial number then enter your Windows CS5 serial number.
How to Move Adobe CC or CS6 Between Computers, or PC to Mac | ProDesignTools
"Good news! It’s simpler now with CS6, you can easily change platforms when upgrading as normal – just select the correct operating system when purchasing the upgrade. Then when you install that upgrade software on your new platform, it will ask for the serial number of your previous version from the other platform.  For example, if you currently own Photoshop CS5 on Windows and want to get Photoshop CS6 on Mac, then just buy the CS6 upgrade for Mac OS, and manually enter the serial number for your older Windows version when installing it."

    How does this system look?
    Any Suggestions
This system will be used for Standard Definition editing with the move to HD early next year.
Is the GTX580 w/ 3GB of memory a good choice?
This will be used for commercial production. It is replacing an Avid Mediacomposer/Adobe Premiere 7 system.
Output will primarily be via firewire to Sony DSR decks.

While there are may recommendations that can be done. There is no one "best" solution. It all depends on budget, and needs. I can only tell you why I chose certain components.
I took the Asus Rampage III for several reasons. I had to have sufficient PCIe slots of the appropriate lanes and physical spacing between them to accommodate 4 cards (One x16, one x8, and two x4). You have to account for the fact that the x16 GTX580 graphics card is double wide. In some cases, it's triple wide, but not the PNY GTX580 water cooled I chose. Another reason I chose it was because of it's ability to overclock. While most motherboards these days can overclock, the Rampage series has more options to fine tune. CPU wise, I'm getting a 990x CPU, because of it's unlocked multiplier, along with a closed-loop Anteck Kuhler 920 water cooling system. This CPU along with the Rampage III, will provide me with a wider spectrum of choices to achieve the fastest stable system I can get. In general, Asus brand has a good reputation, and the Rampage III has been around for some time and has proven itself to a stable and a good performer.
Why overclock? I don't plan to break any speed limits. Nor do I plan to push the limits of stability either. But there is a middle ground that can allow me to get faster computing, while keeping stability, in a well cooled environment. For me stability is very important. And I know it's possible to have a stable overclocked system that can last for years. Why overclock at all? Productivity! While a 990x 3.4GHz is very fast; 4.0 or 4.2GHz is faster. Most functionalities of an editing workstation (other then MPE) is CPU cenric. And while most modern apps are multithreaded, not all are optimized to use multicore. So the raw speed of a single core is still advantageous. Imagine 6 cores running faster on optimized applications like CS5.5.
If you intend to run lots of disks, a RAID card is highly recommended. Especially if your using a parity RAID like level 5. LSI makes good controllers. Areca also makes good controlers. The difference with LSI and Areca, and why a lot of people here choose Areca over other brands, is because of RAID3. RAID3 works beautifully in single user mode with very large files. Perfect for video editing. RAID5 will certainly work, but is better geared towards multiple users accessing large quantities of small data. Also, RAID5 from a motherboard's on-board RAID controller has CPU overhead. Having a card will remove that overhead. And RAID cards are more efficient then any on-board controllers. Finally, it helps to get a controller with more cache. While 512MB is good, more is better.

  • Upgrade Price Speculations Production Premium CS5.5 to CS6?

Anyone have an idea of the cost to upgrade from Production Premium CS5.5 to CS6?  Right now you can buy the updgrade from CS5 to CS5.5 for $399 + 10% off until the 15th.  If you buy the CS5 to CS5.5 upgrade now, you get CS6 for free.  Wonder if buying the CS5 to CS5.5 upgrade with a free copy of CS6 for $360 will be cheaper than the CS5.5 to CS6 upgrade.  If you are still on CS5, seems like a not brainer.  Thoughts?

Yes, maybe...maybe not? Who knows? Well...besides Adobe. And maybe Dave, but he's not interested in discussing anything today. And this is really more appropriate to the Lounge anyway.
BUT - I like your question, and I want to try to give you some advice if I can so here goes.
You're likely to see that the upgrade price for the boxed/download version of Production Premium CS6 isn't much different than what you're seeing now for the intermediate "upgrade now, save later" type offers.
For me, I'm holding on to see what the final pricing and layout is for Creative Cloud. Probably looking at that costing me a bit more over the short run based on my current Adobe purchasing history, but there's supposed to be quite a bit of extra goodness in there so probably worthwhile.
If you have a money back guarantee wherever you're purchasing, you can always buy now, don't open it, then return it in a week or so if pricing is announced and it makes a difference.
If you think you'd have a use for the Creative Cloud, you may want to wait. The preliminary pricing listed by Adobe is $49/month for annual subscribers. Maybe it'll be discounted for 1-year if you already own CS5 or CS5.5 versions of one of the suites. Dunno. Probably more info within the next 7 days.

  • Adobe Production Premium CS5.5 and upgrades

I already own the Adobe Production Premium CS5.5 which includes Premiere 5.5. Today I bought the upgrade from Premiere 5.5. to Premiere CS6. But this requires to type in the serial of Premiere 5.5.. But I only have the serial for the Production Suite and the installation of Premiere CS6 is not possible. What can I do?

You have to upgrade like items, a suite is not the same as an individual application.  Your only hope is going to be to talk to Adobe customer support directly to see if they will allow special consideration for your case.  Otherwise you will need to return the purchase and purchase the CS6 version of the same software you are upgrading from (Production Premium) rather than individual applications within the suite.

  • Unable to successfully download Production Premium CS5.5

    Hello
I am using a corporate broadband network and have tried for 3 days and 2 nights to download Production Premium CS5.5 for Mac (the main installer which is 8.8 GB). We purchased 4 licenses, but I'm unable to download the installer.
Friday, I left the Akamai Downloader working all day and left it over the weekend. Although bandwidth consumption data indicated it downloaded the file many times, the result was a DMG file which would not verify and open.
Monday, I downloaded the DMG file as HTTP download, but it would not verify. I ran an Akamai Downloader download again, but it failed after downloading more than 10 GB.
Today (Tuesday), I did one of each, and once again, the DMG file will not verify.
CS5.5 has been around for too long for this to be a corruption issue at esd.adobe.com, yet that seems to be the only reasonable conclusion. All other installers in Production Premium CS5.5, the entire Production Premium CS6 set, and the entire Master Collection CS5.5 set, have downloaded successfully (MC5.5 failed on Akamai & then succeeded on HTTP download).
If I were downloading over a home DSL or cable modem connection, I might understand problems, but this is a fat pipe I'm working with! I'm no stranger to UDP and TCP transfers, so I understand that Akamai may be using UDP for increased speed, and filling in gaps in the file with repeated downloads. If that's the case, why wasn't the weekend sufficient to complete the file? And why doesn't an HTTP download which results in a 100% complete download result in a working file?
Adobe, what other ideas do you have for me?
    Chris

Have you worked with your I.T. department to determine if they might have something set up which is interferring with your download?  Perhaps there is a data cap on how much you are able to download under your account?
Besides that you can complete the following steps to disable the checksum function:
    Go to Applications/Utilities/Disk Utility
Go under the Disk Utility menu and select Preferences
    De-select the verify checksum option
If you receive installation errors then the download is truely corrupt.  Otherwise once the install is complete please turn this feature back on.

  • Installing Production Premium CS5 failed

All the programs but Illustrator and Photoshop (the ones i really need) are installed. Illustrator shows up in a folder, inside that folder there is an icon in gray, when clicked says that it may be damaged or incomplete. Photoshop shows up in a folder, and there is no icon to open at all.
    Now what?
i tried to install it 4 times, the isntaller says that the instalation is complete.
    What can i do?

    Hi Petunia139,
Production Premium CS5 is an older version software. Please let me know from where are you trying to install?
Try redownloading it from : http://prodesigntools.com/all-adobe-cs5-direct-download-links.html
The above page also contains direct download links to Photoshop and Illustrator which you can download and install.
But make sure you follow the important instructions mentioned on the page before initiating the download.

I'm trying to find Adobe Production Premium CS5 in the download section but it seems that it's all replaced with CS5.5. I bought 5 licenses from a vendor last year, and lost my disks.  Where can I get CS5??

You better contact Adobe to see whats possible. In the worst case scenario you have to buy an upgrade to CS5.5. What kind of license do you have? Is it retail or AVL...
