Deactivate it. It takes 5 seconds to do.
And no, you don't need to install the old versions. Just have the CD and
serial number for verification.

  • Can't install update after reinstalling photoshop CS2

I manually removed PS CS2 because of a problem with the 9.0.2 update. I reinstalled PS CS2(9.0). Then tried to update to 9.0.1 but the auto update tells me no available updates.
Did i miss something when removing PS CS2 thats makeing it think it is still 9.0.2?

First of all, if you installed the Adobe TWAIN plugin by moving it, put it back. (You can get this error if you move it instead of copying it to install it.) Also, if you have done anything to the auto analyzer, like renaming it, name it back to what it was before. Then restart your mac and try again.

  • Reinstall of cs2 from downloaded files

reinstall of cs2 from download worked but illustrator wont launch, other programs working fine

I have a similar problem. I reinstalled CS2 but for the time being just chose to install Illustrator from the package. That was successful up until the point that I tried to launch or open the program. I get the following pop-up box every time:
    Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library
    Runtime Error!
    Program:...rator CS2\Support Files\Contents\Windows\Illustrator.exe
This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the application's support team for more information.
    Windows also says:
The color scheme has been changed.
The following program has performed an action that requires Windows to temporarily
change the color scheme to Windows Vista Basic.
    Program: Adobe Illustrator
    Publisher: Adobe Systems, Inc.
    Process identifier (PID): 4064
Windows will automatically change the color scheme back to
Windows Vista Aero when this program or other programs performing similar
    actions are no longer running.
Please decode. Will it be impossible for me to get it up and running? I need to work with it for a class that has already started.
If I have to buy a new cs suite (or just the illustrator as I only need that for now), what is the best package for a student?

  • Reinstalled Illustrator CS2 but can not activate

HELP!  I replaced my computer and reinstalled Illustrator CS2 (works fine for me, I don't need an upgrade) but it won't allow me to activate over the internet and when calling the activate over the phone it simply tells me to go to the adobe.com/go/activate site.
This of course tells me to uninstall and reinstall. That is not the issue.
How do I keep this program to which I paid for, active now that I have re-installed it on my new computer?

    laurens,
Adobe has stopped the activation servers, so you need to go to this Adobe page and use the non activation CS2 version(s) along with the relevant replacement serial number(s):
    https://www.adobe.com/cfusion/entitlement/index.cfm?e=cs2%5Fdownloads
If you have the Premium suite, you will have to download Acrobat and GoLive separately.

  • Lost a font after reinstall of CS2

    Hey,
Last week I had to reformat my computer and reinstall Photoshop CS2. I can no longer find a font I was using for a project, and I am pretty sure it was a Photoshop font because I don't think i ever added fonts. It is called "Motorwerk". Does anyone know if this is a Photoshop font, and if so how can I get it back?
    Thank you!
    Chris

That's not a font that came with Photoshop.

  • How do I reinstall my CS2 product that I upgraded through adobe to CS4 after a hard crash. Neither copy will activate

  • Need to reinstall Photoshop CS2 but it can't find a previously installed version so won't reinstall

Photoshop CS2 told me there was a "major problem" and that I would need to reinstall the software to continue using it.
So I used the installer CD, but it told me it could not install because there was already a copy installed, which would need to be removed.
So I removed the old version and tried to reinstall but now it tells me it needs a previously installed version in order to reinstall.
Adobe "customer service"chat  is 100% useless on this, referred me to the 800 #, been on hold for over 45 miinutes now, and no relevant topics found on "help" forums.
For a multibillion dollar monopoly, you'd think they could hire a couple of customer service reps but I guess it's all DIY "support" here, so can anyone help?

So, you are NOT trying to reinstall an upgrade, but a purchased version (not in an upgrade path from one version to the next)?
If that is correct, there should be no request for a "previously installed version." That only appears when one is installing an upgrade.
Are you installing from physical media (a DVD), or from a download?
Sorry, I do not have an answer for you.
    Good luck,
    Hunt

  • Hard drive crash, reinstall Photoshop CS2

I recently had a serious event with my MacBook Pro's hard drive. The Geniuses got it going again, but I'm now having issues with Photoshop (CS2). I need to reinstall the software to fix it, but I've used up my two "licenses" for the software. I can't reload directly from the CD's - it won't allow it.
Is there a way to bypass this software permission, or do I need to reformat my computer and start over?
    Thanks!

You need to call Customer Service and request a phone deactivation and activation.

  • Invalid serial number when reinstalling Adobe CS2 on G4 Mac with OS 10.5.8.

I have tried using the original serial numbers and the one found on the website to download the version that does not require an access code.  Nothing seems to work.  I am going to remove everything once again and try to reinstall but I am not very optomistic.
Can someone please help me.  My Mac is too old to run the new software and it does not have cloud access.  Adobe does not support CS2 any more.
It is Adobe professional, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc.

  • Trying to Reinstall Photoshop CS2

    Hello,
I have a power pc mac mini and I've never had a problem with using my Photoshop CS2 but, on Oct 11, I got an error message that said I needed to reinstall the program. So, I sent Photoshop to the trash, along with Bridge and the Help Center, per suggestions I'd read elsewhere, but I can't reintall it! It seems to work all the way to the end and then it says an error has occurred and it's missing a file, please try again. I've tried numerous times and nothing.
I called Adobe and the guy said I should create a new user account on my computer. That's a big hassle and I don't see how that it going to solve anything. If I want further assistance, he says I'll have to pay $40. What? It doesn't sound like Adobe cares one way or another what happens to me.
I know that Adobe is going through some major enhancements, etc. this week so I am suspicious that my glitch is somehow attached to what they're doing. Is that possible?
I am losing valuable time. I use Photoshop every day and this is a major inconvenience. This just isn't right. Can someone out there help?

I know little about technical troubleshooting, but in order for someone else to step in to provide you some help...

Just how did you delete photoshop again, exact steps?
It will also help us users if you would tell us what system you are using and what exactly the error message said.

I new user account is a very common step in trouble shooting.
And you are using software that is years old now, of course they want to you upgrade so paying for service is not really an issue. If you had the current version that wouldn't be the case.
I know that Adobe is going through some major enhancements, etc. this week so I am suspicious that my glitch is somehow attached to what they're doing. Is that possible?
No. Something else on your end has happened. It is virtually impossible for Adobe to do something on their end that would specifically target your software directly, and since many people are running old versions than you I don't think you have to worry.

  • Can not reinstall Photoshop cs2 upgrade

I physically changed my hard drive and thought I had copied all relevant files, but I know have to reinstall CS2 upgrade and it is looking for my old serial number.  I have the Photoshop 5.5 discs, but not the past serial numbers. How can I now install the CS2?
    Thank You
    David Harris

If you go to the Adobe.com website and log into the your account you will find all the serial numbers for your registered products.

  • Can I swap out my software to reinstall my CS2 for use with a Mac instead of Windows?

After years of no problems, my CS2 ceased to work. I tried deinstalling it and using the Adobe clean up kit and reinstalling it to no avail. Frankly, I am not smart enough to follow all of those troubleshooting steps. But since I purchased the license to use CS2 and used the Windows software to install it on my computer, I was wondering now that I have deinstalled it and can't get it back on, can I install it on my Mac instead? Can I get the software to do that? thanks.

Unfortunately CS2 is also too old to upgrade to CS6 andd your PPC Mac won't run the current Adobe software which only runs on newer Intel-based Macs.
Only CS5 users can upgrade to CS6.
There is also a temporary upgrade window for CS3 and CS4 users which closes on 31 Dec 2012.
So if you do eventually upgrade your Mac, you'll have to purchase a full version of CS6 (or whatever the current version may be).
What exactly is happening when you try to run CS2? Hard to guess from the description given so far.

  • Reinstalling Photoshop CS2

I have been using Photoshop CS2 fr quite some time successfully. However, I have been receiving this message. "the Adobe Updater could not be started. Reistall program."   Can I uninstall CS2 and reinstall without contacting Adobe first?? I have my original program CDs.
    TY,
    Barbara

you must download ps cs2 from here: https://www.adobe.com/cfusion/entitlement/index.cfm?e=cs2_downloads
and use the posted serial number.

  • Cannot reinstall GL CS2 from Suite

    G5 dual 2.7 with 10.5.3
GL is acting up. Trashing prefs does not help. Need to try reinstall.
GL is part of my CS2 Suite install disks. Have complete CS 3 Suite installed.
Only want to install GL, but all programs are grayed out with no checkbox checked except for PS with ImageReady and Version Cue. I can check or uncheck these. Cannot select any of the core products, as a group or individually. It's not an upgrade set.
    Any ideas?

If you cannot get support from Adobe on it, and you own the copy you have, then install it on another harddrive with a system, then copy the relevent files from the other drive to the one you use. Make sure to include all files that are needed to run the programs that are scattered about. That will work if you have time and find all the files. Don't ask me which ones, it has been a while since I looked for them. If you put the install on a fresh drive it is easier to find them.

  • ? What can I do to reinstall my CS2. Only photoshop opens. I get error messages on all others. [Mac.

If the "server" is my computer, these Adobe applications are the only ones with a problem. I cannot find my original disks and must assume they were thrown away with some other cleanup activities. I know I registered the system (for two computers) when I bought it in 2007.
