Reinstalling PSE 8

I uninstalled PSE 8 from my pc because I was having issues. Now I'm trying to reinstall it and keep recieving the following msg. "Error opening installation log file. Verify that the specified log file location exists and is writable"

1. clean any leftover files from your previous install: http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/826/cpsid_82673.html
2. right click the install file and click "run as administrator".

Reinstall PSE 8 catalog on windows 7

I needed to buy a new Windows 7 based laptop and successfully reinstalled PSE 8 on it. I have also successfully duplicated all applications and tranfered the data across to my new laptop incuding the pictures which formed the basis of my PSE 8 catalog. Already saved on an external hard drive are copies of my photos with caption embedded using PSE 8.
How do I load my photos including captions into the PSE 8 application on my new laptop?

Sorry for my delay in communicating and yes my reinstall of PSE 8 catalog on Windows 7 appears to be successful. I am currently ‘Getting my photos from File’ and both the photos (.jpg) and captions are successfully loading into my catalog which I am storing into their original albums.

Problems reinstalling pse 9

I have had troubles reinstalling pse 9 in my computer. i bought a licence and had this program in my computer. I had to format my computer and i need to reinstal this program. what can i do to download and reinstal this program ? The usual way downloading from adobe site doesnt work.

It wasn't me that signed in to buy Photoshop. A worker of a foundation did
that for me and sent me the Software Licence Certificate. When i installed this program by
first time, I downloaded the program and entered with the serial number.
Now i couldnt find PSE 9 to download.
I have used the trial version of PSE 10 these days while i dont fix this
problem.
What do you suggest me to do?

I got a certification error when trying to reinstall PSE 12.

The error came when the Adobe Download Assistant. was trying to be installed.
I am using OS X 10.9.1.
I have to reinstall PSE 12 because the Organizer bombed. I have used PSE since version 6. Now my PSE Organizer shows no media. The folders show but nothing is in them. Weird. Thanks for any help.

Instead of using the Adobe Download Assistant to install the program (since you encountered an error),
Please try downloading it from the direct download links available at : http://prodesigntools.com/photoshop-elements-12-direct-download-links-premiere.html
But make sure you follow the important steps mentioned on the page before initiating the download.

Trying to reinstall PSE 2.0 on winxp after a computer crash.

I had PSE 2.0 working just fine on my computer before a crash. After getting Winxp SP3 back up and running, I tried to reinstall PSE from my original disk, and it just turns off with the hard drive working for a while. No warnings, etc. Then I tried exploring the disk and found the installation file and clicked on "setup.exe" and got the same result.
I managed to restore the old c:programs for PSE, but the program "PhotoshopElements.exe" is a Dos command and won't open anything.
I was able to install PSE 8.0 with no problem, but I don't like it as much as my 2.0 (Loads faster and no additional "Organize"etc.)

This can be caused by anti-virus software/ real time scanners. Please try to disable your anti-virus software real time scanner and try again. Do not forget to enable it after the download is complete!'

Reinstalling PSE 6.0

I want to reinstall PSE 6.0 on my computer because it's taking forever to load. I think it's because I downloaded a "registry optimizer awhile ago and it messed things up!! How can I keep all the photos that are on there now and reload them after reinstalling the program?? I'm a beginner when it comes to these things so please keep it simple!! I have a Dell computer (4 years old?), running Windows Vista.

You were correct Barbara. I uninstalled PSE and then reinstalled it but it didn't solve my problem, which is the slow "loading" of the program when I click on the icon to start it up. It takes a good one to two minutes before it "starts!!" (I take that back.......I just timed it and it took 5 full minutes before it started!!) Could it have something to do with the amount of pictures I have on the program?? And, if so, how can I fix that problem?? Thanks for your response.

Reinstall PSE 6 to correct Program Error?

Windows XP-Pro (SP3): I recently installed PSE 6 after uninstalling PSE 3. It's a registered version and I have the CD. All is fine except the Clone Stamp is not working, I get a Program Error message. Can I just reinstall PSE 6 for trying to correct it and is there a proper way of doing it? I noticed that in my Program Files there are some PSE 3 remnants. Also I have Photoshop CS (8.0) installed.

I still get this message "Could not use the clone stamp tool because of a program error" when I move the clone brush (21px) to an area to be cloned and then click on it. And I just noticed that the Spot Healing Brush and Eraser do not function either although they do not give me a Program Error message. Cookie cutter selection and usage works fine. I have not tried the Red Eye Removal tool.

if you have a problem dl'g, you didn't follow all 7 steps. the most common error involves failing to meticulously follow steps 1,2 and/or 3 (which adds a cookie to your system enabling you to download the correct version from adobe.com).

How can I reinstall PSE 10 Editor only?

I installed Elements 10 yesterday on my iMac (Lion v.10.6.8) and put the PSE icons on both my desktop and the dock. I then spent a couple of hours using the Organizer (i.e., moving and deleting photos). Unfortunately, I then moved the desktop icon to the Trash (thinking I'd keep only the dock icon). When I emptied the trash, however, it completely deleted the Editor portion of PSE10 from my computer. The Organizer is still there. I want to reinstall the Editor, but I really don't want to lose all the work I did yesterday in the Organizer.
Any tips on the best way to do this? Thanks!

You can remove and reinstall just fine. The preferences from the application are separate from the application files.

Cannot reinstall PSE 10

PSE 10 would not load with message to reinstall. My download install program would only show uninstall. I tried to uninstall, but kept gettting an error message. Revo unistaller also would not work. Followed recommendation to uninstall manually- deleted all references to PSE 10 from registry. Now the install program still only wants to unistall and I get error message 1311:not able to access cab14, which is there. I never had problems installing, uninstalling, or reinstalling any program until this one. Help - I have 1000s of photos that I had organized with PSE7 and 10.
Why does Adobe not allow a simple option of install/reinstall as do many other programs?

Please try uninstalling PSE10 using Adobe cleaner tool. The link to download with instrunctions on how to use is present at-

Once the PSE10 cleaned from your system, naivgate to following location to see if any traces of Editor or Organizer are present. If they are present just delete the folders-
Organizer: C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Elements 10 Organizer
Editor: C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Photoshop Elements 10
Now are good to go for installing PSE10. This time, right click on setup.exe and select 'Run as Administrator' and follow the instructions.

Reinstall PSE 11 - TRIAL

I have tried to use PSE 11 (Trial) for a few days, but it offers me a lot of problems - including that Elements Organizer use CPU and menory even if it is closed down, and although all analysis tools are disabled.
I would ofcurse not by PSE 11 before I'm sure that it works properly on my computer, as my PSE 10 does - but I would like to give the program a second chance - Does anyone know if the trial version can be reinstalled without any problems - with the test period etc.

It should work to reinstall it (the 30 days will end from when you first used the trial), but before you try that, go to the organizer preferences>media analysis and shut down everything there (except face recognition, if you use that) and see if that makes a difference.

Reinstall PSE 9

Hi, I purchased PSE # 9 and when I installed on my two computers all was fine. Then I upgraded the Adobe browser on one unit and in doing the same on my laptop it said I had my limit of SW installed on two + computeers and said I needed to uninstall the program and then reinstall. I uninstalled and when i went to web site to download PSE 9 it's not available, or I cannot find it other than PSE 10, suggeestions other than buying PSE 10, thanks

Reinstalling PSE when application can't be opened

PSE 8 running on fully updated Windows 7. Installed for about 15 months. Application wont open using any methods. I have discs to reinstall but I can't deactivate the current version. I am concerned that if I uninstall without deactivation I wont be able to reinstall.
