I grasp that you decided to reinstall Windows 8 single language 64 bit but you get the error that it can't performs the request and asks you to insert media disk.
How are you doing the reinstallation from a Windows disk or from Recovery disks.

What operating system? What version of InDesign? What happens when you insert a page (and how are you choosing to insert a page)? Does it happen with just one file, or does also happen on a clean new file? -
1) I am having trouble with an excel file wanting to save when no changes were made. As soon as you open the file and exit. It prompts for a save.
All excel versions are 15.0.4701.1002.
Using a table.
the functions CELL, OFFSET, TODAY, INDIRECT, NOW, INFO and RAND are not being used.
2) Same file. 2nd person is being told they are opening the file as read only - but when they are quitting excel prompts them to save the file.
Everything was working fine. I started having problems with Excel, IT wiped my version out and re-installed office.
File is on networked server HP - Windows Server 2012 Essentials.
We are all on Windows 8.1 Pro.
I really hope someone can help - the excel expert had no answer - and passed me along to here.I copied the whole file and started deleting worksheets one at a time and testing it by closing it and re-opening it then closing it again – to see if it wanted to save.
Once all the pivot tables were deleted – the problem went away.
I found that some of the pivot tables had automatic refresh upon open, so this caused the excel to think data had changed.
It is fixed now. By clicking on one cell of the pivot table, analyze, options, data and uncheck the 3<sup>rd</sup> square down to not automatically refresh. NOT A NETWORK ISSUE. -

I am having trouble with opening PDF files. When I click on the file, I end up with 40 or more folders all over my desktop, which cannot be opened. Any idea what I should do?
try right click on the file, and select open with preview.. thats the mac os x pdf viewer

RMAN having trouble with spaces in file names.

RMAN is complaining if cmdfile and log file names have space in them (even if they are quoted). This test is done on windows with 10g.
cmd> rman target / cmdfile rcmd.txt
This works fine. However,
cmd> rman target / cmdfile "E:\test dir\rcmd.txt"
complains about syntax. Something like:

Having trouble with Creative Media Sour
I was using Creative Media Organizer to organize and tag all my MP3 files before transferring them to my new player ( a Zen v Plus 2gb) I have the player plugged in and can access and see the player in My Computer but the Creative software doesn't see the player and I therefore can't use it to sync my mp3s. I could use another method of getting the music on there but I want to use my playlists and such that I made and it would be a pain to import those into a different program.
So, does anyone have anyone idea how to get Creative Media Source to realize that my player is connected to the computer?

same problem with me. The zen got little moist due to rain, after that it froze at the 'Creative screen' that too comes on when i connect it to charger. I disconnected the battery, it worked for a while but it is back to same position now. It dosent responds to resetting pin... nothing happens it is dead. Only when i disconnect battey and connect charger ... give it a big whack it works for a while then hangs again.
Still trying my stuff on it. Otherwise i will format it and reload the firmware later on.

Having trouble with DVD Video files. Please Help! :)
Hi I recently got a film DVD I wanted to take a clip off. However although I can watch the section I want in Windows Media Player, when I import the film into Premiere - some of it is missing! there are 4 files '4-1',4-2','4-3',4-4' which make up the movie. I can load them all in but 4-3 is missing the last 15-20 minutes, even though I know its there - cos this file is the same size as the previous one which is full length. Does anyone know why this would be? The DVD is unencrypted.
Please help - its quite annoying that the small section of film I want is the bit that won't appear! Thank you very much

I was assuming that it was not protected. However, as you point out, some aspects might be, and the OP might not be completely aware of this.
If there is protection, I strongly urge anyone to respect that, regardless of their intended use of the material. Copy protection is there for a very good reason. Regardless of what one might be able to do, they should be 100% ethical, and honor any/all copy protection. This is true for material from a videographer, or from a commercial studio. Should you need to use the material in such a DVD-Video, you should contact the author to get first permission, and then the original source material, that has not undergone the MPEG-2 compression to DVD-Video.
Again, I assume that the OP knows that this is NOT an issue, and will not figure into the problem. In that case, all above does NOT apply in this case, but some other reader might make note of it.

Having trouble with a audio file. Need help please!
Hello.
This may sound funny and not to related to any of this at first, but if anyone here knows about the game portal, then they know about the ARG that went on during last week and may even still be continuing. None of thats really important but if anyone cares to know, basically VALVe released a new update with 30 new sounds, 26 of them moarse code/sstv pictures. 3 of them called dinosaur_fizzle 1 2 and 3. Infact, each one was named dino_1 dino_2 and so on.
The main sound that no ones been able to crack is called Dinosaur_noise. Its obvious there are voices in it and its some sort of major clue, this file is way out of league with the other ones. No ones solved it 100% or cleaned it enough to make basically anything audible.
Now this started March 1st. Since then i have worked hours on the audio file. I have gotten close, but not close enough.
Thats why im turning to someone here, that can do a through analysis of the audio that adobe or reaper just cannot do.
In the attachments is the original file itself with no editing what so ever.
Heres some collected data.

An analysis was undertaken to find the strongest frequencies acting within "dinosaur_noise". Linear and Logarithmic curves showed sets of dominant figures, with the most being:

There are a few standout segments, not of voice data underneath, but visible clicks or something happening about 5 times. These could be indications of splices or other manipulations going on. The largest noticed broad-spectrum spikes were:

Silence in the frequency ranges is located in the band of 10.567 - 15.337 KHz. All frequencies above that are likely to be high frequency poinoning from the FFT process.
Heres what i know personally.
-Noise reduction makes it a lot worse and adds strange harmonics and artifacts.
-Most filters do the same.
-Clear voice around 15 that says THATS AMAZING.

What you are asking for is very unclear. Why do you even want to do a "thorough analysis of the audio"? No one is going to do your project for you. -

Started having trouble with iTunes so I uninstalled everything and tried to reinstall but it says ' iTunes cannot run because some of its required files are missing. Please reinstall iTunes.' Well, I've uninstalled and reinstalled 5 times. Now what?
I figured it out. A week ago I had downloaded a screensaver from a website I trusted and that's when my problems started. I uninstalled it but that didn't help. So, I reinstalled it then used an uninstall softtware app that cleanns more than the control panel does. Then I used a computer cleaner to be sure everything was wiped clean. And it worked. I downloded iTunes for the 7th time in 2 days and finally it worked! And I lost nothing from my account.
Maybe this info will help others. -

It says itcan't find the itunes64.msi destination folder.(1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):

(2) Doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. It does sound very Watch Folders-esque, however, it seems strange that there are many folders involved. Are all the folders under a single parent folder perhaps? If so, you could try renaming or moving that folder. Additionally, to clarify, all 60 files are images, correct?
Additionally, you can try creating a new catalog, just to see if that lets you in. Hold down the Shift key while launching the Organizer. If you get the timing right, the Catalog Manager will appear. -
I am having trouble transfering any media from my windows 7 pc to my iPad 3. Currently using the latest version of iTunes n my windows pc but still the media won't appear on my devicewhen being transferred..
The window would open and I would get the hourglass cursor suggesting something was happening, but the Apple home page (default from the install) would not load, nor would any other page I tried (google, yahoo, cnn).
