Reinstate old version after trial of XI

When I downloaded the trial version of XI, it seemed to delete my existing Acrobat 9.  I am on my work computer, and we do not have the serial number for 9 to re-download it.  How can I get it back?

Usually, the installation asks if you want to keep the old version. Apparently it got wiped in your case. However, as long as you registered the product, you should be able to log in to "My Products and Services" (move the cursor over your name in the browser) and get your SNs. You do have to log in. If I go from this page, then I am already logged in.

  • Dreamweaver template (.dwt) keeps reverting to old version after reopening CS3

I work locally on all files and upload as needed.  After chaging template and applying it, I can upload all associated pages just fine.  If I close DW and reopen, the old version of the template is there without any changes -- even though I saved the template.
Also, updating the template will change all other web pages except index.html.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks

Sure.  No nested templates to my knowledge -- especially since I only have one template.  Look like I have some regions in my index.html that don't match the .dwt -- even though the .dwt was created from the .html.  When I tried to update the .html, it really screws up the content.  Let's kill the 1st bird first -- why my ,dwt file keeps reverting to an old version.  Here is the code for the template.  Again, thank you!

  • Saved file goes back to old version after crash

    Hello everyone,
Has anybody had issues with Illustrator (5.5 or 6) with previously saved files crashing and going back to old versions? I've had it happen quite often. I start a new file, save it, close it. Next day or so I reopen, keep adding elements and saving in between. Next time, the same... Then it crashes and as I reopen the file it's back to day 1 or 2, rather than the latest times I've saved. Strangest thing ever!
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Cheers,
    Georgia

    Hi guys,
Thanks for the replies. I was starting to wonder if it was just me having this issue. I'm saving to my work PC laptop (Lenovo), but has has this also on my Mac.
I've read about the network and external drives issue, but I've always avoided working anywhere else but my internal HDs. Not using graph tool but it's hard to narrow it down as I work on so many different projects at the same time. The latest file has been saved as something new and modified a couple of times (complex vector icons, but no shading/3D nor links). I do NOT have the "save compatible pdf"nor compression options enabled.
Other designers at work don't seem to have this issue, but they don't work with AI as often as myself, and mostly stick to the standard features.I would really like to figure this out as it's slowing me down and surely getting other people to wonder what I'm doing with my time (besides spending it here  ).
Is it possible Adobe is unaware of this problem???

  • Why does Photoshop Elements not remove the old version after installing an upgrade?

When I install a new version of Photoshop Elements, it converts the old catalog but does not remove the old programs.  I just installed PS 11 over PS 10 and it did not remove it.  I have had the same problem with each upgrade.  I have to manually uninstall the old version.
    Thanks.

It's good to have the software you paid for
Uninstalling the older version post an upgrade might be discomforting to many users, so...
Catalog conversion works fine irrespective of whether you uninstall or do not uninstall the older version since the catalog folders are not touched during uninstall.

  • Installation full version after trial

I am running into some issues installing Captivate 3 on my
laptop that is running Vista. I had been using a trial version to
test it out. My boss in the tech department for our school district
purchased me a full copy. I uninstalled the trial version. I then
installed the full version without any problems and entered in my
serial number. The next time I went to use Captivate 3, the opening
screen said my trial version was over and I needed to enter my
serial number. The number I entered previously did not work. I did
this process 3 times with the same problem. I am not sure why it is
reverting to me having a trial version when the install went well
and I could use Captivate 3 when it opens automatically after
installation. Is this a registry issue? Any ideas? Thanks.

Adobe had several obscure installer issues with software
    released last year.
This sounds like one of those. You should call tech support
    to see if they
can talk you through fixing the installation. It may well be
    a registry
    issue ...

  • Remove old version after update?

I just installed the Windows Lightroom 4 (upgrade) to replace Lightroom 3.6.
Can I now remove version 3.6 without jeopardizing operation of version 4 or the ability to further update when a successor becomes available?

    Yes, you can.
Although in this particular case with all the bugs in LR4.0 I would keep LR3.6 sitting around.
Should you be among the ones hurt by performance problems you might need an easy way to go back.
Or you might need to compare images. Go for 4.1RC2 to benefit from some bug fixes.
Have you already converted your LR3-catalog ?
This might also take several trials...
No need for a hurry to ditch LR3.6, you can so in some months as well.

  • Still shows old version after installation of new one

    HI
I upgraded jdk 1.4 to jdk 1.6.But whenever i used cmd like java - version it is showing same old one as jdk 1.4 can anyone is help me out in this case.
    thanks
    sachin

I think this is wrong forum for this question, because this forum is N1SM related !!!
anyways ... JAVA_HOME and PATH variables can help ;)
    do:
    $ echo $PATH
    $ echo $JAVA_HOME
they should point out to which java version shall be used
for N1SM ... I recommend to stick to JDK installed with N1SM, unless you know what you're doing ...
also latest JDK patches BREAK N1SM, since they remove symlink to old JDK, so cacao loaders become broken ... simply creating the symlink again workarounds this problem

  • Notes on iPhone5 got replaced with old versions after Sync

I will seriously pay the first person to solve this $20 if their advice helps me recover my current version of my notes.
I sync'd my iphone5 to itunes in order to have a recent back up but when it was done a bunch of my notes from my phone got replaced with older versions somehow that must have been on my pc. For example, I have a note titled "Car Stuff" where I would keep track of parts replaced, oil changes, mileage etc.
When the sync was finished, this note, as well as some others were replaced on my iphone by a version last sync'd in September of 2012. This one was not a huge deal to lose although it was mildly important. Some of the others were much more significant.
I have sync'd before and this situation has never occured. Why on earth would the notes on my phone not just copy the new versions to my pc? Instead, it did the exact opposite! Now I am missing over a year worth of edits to some very important notes I go into on a daily basis. On a side note, I also got several duplicates of some notes but both with the same dates. All my new notes synced fine but anything that existed for more than a year on my phone got replaced with the older version of itself that was stored on my pc.
A little background and current state of where I am at:
    1) No, unfortunately I never used the icloud. I never needed it until now.
    2) I had the box checked to sync my notes to outlook as I always did previously
    3) I have searched my pc for the name of the notes and I find them in Outlook but only the old outdated versions that are now on my phone.
    4) I went to Genius Bar and they were clueless as to why it happened or how I could get my current version of those notes back
    5) The only old sync's found on my pc are from the last sync I did and the sync from my iphone4 back in Sept of 2012 right before I got the iphone5
    6) I have a college email that uses gmail on my phone (which I heard might backup notes) but when I logged into the email on my pc I don't see anything in the section when I click on notes.
If I left out any details, or you need further clarification please feel free to mention it and I will clarify. At this point, I feel like all hope is lost so this is probably my last hope before giving up. The edits I made to these notes over the last year are extremely important to me so this is why I am trying desperately to recover them.
Thanks for any help offered and I am serious about sending whoever finds my solution $20. It's that important to me.

it appears the actual image is probably in place, but the *preview* is incorrect.  clicking on the image to zoom in causes (the normal) "Loading...", followed by a zoomed in view of the *correct* image.  zooming back out gives the normal view of the correct image.  (*very* good to know!)

  • Why still shows the old version after the upgrade?

Hello I have a bit of problem here. I actually upgraded my JDK to 1.5 quite a while ago, but now when I run in the command line:
    D:\xmltree>java -version
    java version "1.4.2_03"
Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (build 1.4.2_03-b02)
Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 1.4.2_03-b02, mixed mode)Now the application need to run in the command line using 'java MainClass' requires JDK 1.5...I have it on my pc but how to reflect the newer version to the command line? Thanks

Sorry I am afraid that I could not help you further (sounds like I had helped you somehow...*wink* ;-). The other thought is that there are different tiers of admins; if you are not the highest one, or he/she does not allocate you the PATH modification privilege, you may still not do that. You may wish to consult with the guy at the highest level, or who set up your account if you did not do it for yourself, if you are not him. Sorry for not being helpful at all and good luck.

  • Pages reverts document to old version after time change

Just went through the automatic change from Daylight Savings to EST and an hour or so afterward, I open a Pages document to find that the past four weeks of work had been lost.  This copy was saved on my internal Mac HD.  The iCloud version of the document contained only one sentence; a single save event from when it was first created.
Fortunately my Time Machine rode to the rescue, but this was very unsettling to lose that much work so easily.
I don't know if this was related to the auto time change from Daylight Savings screwing up the document's version control or merely coincidental.  I'd like to get an understanding of what happended here.  In the meantime, I've fired up my Vista VM and now working on the document in Word.
Pages is 09 v 4.2 (1008), the OS is 10.8.2 on an i7 8GB Mac.  Safari and Mail were the only other apps open at the time.  The document contains only text with no embbed objects.  Nothing unusal about the fonts either.  It is about as ordinary and simple a document as one can get.

    Hi guys,
Thanks for the replies.

  • Do I need to keep old versions of CS on my PC in order to have the most recent work properly?

I recently started a new position and plesently found my work station already set up with Creative Suite 5.5, but then saw CS 4 and CS 3 as well. When I asked IT why they were all there, the response was that upgrades build off of one another. If we were to uninstall 4 and 3, 5.5 wouldn't work.
Now, this isn't my first time around the block... I've never done this in the past in any other position. In fact, I remember how much work it was to install the new software and then uninstall the old, frequently running into problems along the way.
Is my new IT department right? Or can I uninstall the older versions in the hopes that my computer works faster/better?
    Thanks!

    Hi HeatherSenger,
It is not necessary to have old version of Creative suite already installed in your machine. You can uninstall the old version form your computer and there will not be any problem.
When you buy an upgrade of any creative suite let say for example if you buy an upgrade for CS6 from CS5.
You start the installation of CS6 and it will ask for the serial number --- the moment you enter the serial number for the CS6 upgrade it will ask for the serial number for the previous qualifying version which could be CS5 or any eligible old version
After entering both the keys it will continue the installation.
So you just need to have the serial numbers of the both versions at the time of installation.
    Thanks
    Kapil

  • Should I delete the old version of Firefox 6.0

Should I delete the old version after downloading the newest version?

It's the same as almost every other Mac app, quit it and drag the new version into the same folder(usually the Applications folder) as the old one and it'll overwrite it preserving the preferences as it does so.
Though It should have done this itself via the auto update function in firefox.

  • I recently installed the trial version of Adobe XI and the trial period ended, so I wanted to revert back to the version I already had. I did not see any uninstall feature and my old version was apparently replaced by the trial version. I cannot re-instal

I recently installed the trial version of Adobe XI and the trial period ended, so I wanted to revert back to the version I already had. I did not see any uninstall feature and my old version was apparently replaced by the trial version. I cannot re-install a previous version b/c I need both a product Id (GOd only knows where that is now) and a way to uninstall the trial. Any ideas?

When you installed the trial, there should have been an option to have ignored your current installation and leave it. Apparently you skipped that case. To uninstall the trial (in Windows) go to Control Panel>Programs & Features and select the Acrobat XI and choose uninstall. After the uninstall run http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/acrobatcleaner.html to clean up your system. HOWEVER, if you see your old Acrobat in that window, do not run the cleaner, but do a repair on the old version.
You did not mention the old version you had. You might try from http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/acrobat-downloads.html. As for the S/N, you should have register and if so you can get it from Adobe. The instructions are at http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/global/find-serial-number.html#adobeproductdownload.
Be sure to backup any download of the old installer and the S/N to CD or backup HD for future use. They will not likely continue to be available.
