Reintalling itunes
my itunes works but everytime i open it it says:
"The registry settings used bu the iTunes drivers for importing and burning CDs and DVDs are missing. This can happen ad a result of installing other CD burning software.
Plese reinstall iTunes.
iTunes was not properly installed. If you want iTunes to be able to retrieve CD information from the internet, yoiu need to reinstall iTunes."
what am i supposed to do.
and will i loose all my songs?
that's usually caused by a device filter conflict in your registry. the following document may be of some assistance with that:

I received the new update from Itunes and after installing, I couldnt get into my Itunes. I get a message from Windows saying that an MC file is missing and to reinstall I tunes. I have reinstalled 3 times, the first time I didn't remove the old version, I installed the update over it. Next I tried the repair function under Control Panel. After that, I uninstalled Itunes and reinstalled again from the website. I still get the same message about missing files from Windows.

temigurlIf you have any iTunes Music Store purchases the transfer of purchased content from the iPod to authorised computers was introduced with iTunes 7. You'll find details in this article: Copying iTunes Store purchases from your iPod to a computer
The transfer of content from other sources such as songs imported from CD is designed by default to be one way from iTunes to iPod. However there are a number of third party utilities that you can use to retrieve the music files and playlists from your iPod. You'll find that they have varying degrees of functionality and some will transfer movies, videos, photos, podcasts and games as well. Have a look at the web pages and documentation, this is just a small selection of what's available, they are generally quite straightforward. You can read reviews and comparisons of some of them here:

SharePod Windows Only
iPodRip Mac & Windows

iRepo Mac & Windows (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)
iPod Access Mac & Windows (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)
There is also a manual method of accessing the iPod's hard drive and copying songs back to iTunes on Windows or a Mac. The procedure is a bit involved and won't recover playlists but if you're interested it's available at this link: Two-way Street: Moving Music Off the iPod
One last thing, if your iPod is set to update automatically you need to take care connecting to an empty iTunes. You can use a keyboard command to prevent your iPod auto-syncing with iTunes. While connecting the iPod to the computer on Windows with iTunes 7.3 or later installed hold down the Shift + Ctrl keys together. This will stop the iPod from auto-syncing with iTunes and the iPod will appear in the source list. Wait until you are sure the iPod has mounted, and that it will not auto sync and then you can let the keys go. This may take between 20 to 30 seconds depending on your computer: iTunes 7.3 Keyboard Shortcuts for Windows
When your iPod appears in the iTunes source list change the update setting to manual, that way you can continue to use your iPod without the risk of accidentally erasing it. Also when using most of the utilities listed above your iPod needs to be enabled for disc use, changing to manual update will do this by default: Managing content manually on iPod
Whichever retrieval method you choose, keep your iPod in manual mode until you have reloaded your iTunes and you are happy with your playlists etc then it will be safe to return it auto-sync. I would also advise that you get yourself an external hard drive and back your stuff up, relying on an iPod as your sole backup is not a good idea and external drives are comparatively inexpensive these days, you can get loads of storage for a reasonable outlay. -
iTunes crashes immediately after i double click it. It happend after the last update to the newest itunes.
Now i cant sync anything. I tried repairing and reinstalling itunes but still no luck.
This is the error report windows 7 gave! Please help !

I then reintalled itunes and quicktime, then uninstalled quicktime only. I then reinstalled quicktime standalone. For some reason it now works. I have no idea why this worked, but there had to be something strange going on with quicktime. I would try this before I got into the system and started deleting files, and turning things off. At one point I couldn't even restart my computer.....so don't go there. I am not happy that Apple does not come forward with more help, this is a real mess.

HELP!!!!!!!
I'm certain I am not the only one with this problem.
Backed up (sensibly!) yesterday prior to upgrading to iTunes 10.5. All started swimmingly with subsequent 5.0 upgrade for my iPhone 3Gs HOWEVER mnow a lot of the apps are missing, NO music or videos and most importantly it's not recognised on my iTunes. I'm running Windows XP and have reset and reintalled iTunes 10.5. In addition I backed up to iclooud and reset the iPhone. Still nothing. HELP! please
Any suggestions welcome!
Oh and I did go to Apple store where I was wished "good luck" with my issue. Thanks. Helpful.Ok update. I took drastic action and removed all itunes (after backing up to a hard drive...just incase). reinstalled it and I am glad to report so far so good! I am having to reinstall all music and apps etc to my phone (fingers crossed!) but all good so far! Going to ensure regular back ups from now on !

iTunes 11.1.4 will not install properly - windows 8.1, 64 bit. The only way I have found to recover is to restore my system. I have unistalled/reintalled iTunes two times. No success. iTunes 11.1.3.8 functions properly (following system restore). When is Apply expected to provide a workable update?
Uninstall your existing copy of iTunes. Delete any copies of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe) installer files from your downloads areas for your web browsers and download a fresh copy of the iTunes installer from the Apple website:
http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
(The current build of the 11.1.4.62 installer was changed a few days ago, which fixed the bulk of the reports of MSVCR80.dll/R6034/APSDaemon.exe/Error-7/AMDS-could-not-start trouble ... but the build number on the installer was not changed. So we're trying to make sure you do the reinstall using a "new good" 11.1.4.62 installer instead of an "old bad".)
Does the install with the new copy of the installer go through properly? If so, does that clear up the error message?
If you still have the same error messages cropping up, then try the procedures from the following user tip:

Since 5:30 this afternoon I have been trying to get my itunes store to work with absoluetly no success. I click on Itunes store the little loading bar at the top moves to about the middle then disappears and I'm stuck with this screen unmoving:

Runtime error R6034 c:\program files\itunes\itunes.exe.

Runtime Error: program c:\files\itunes\itunes.exe. R6034 An application has made an attempt to load the C runtime library incorrectly. Please contact the applications support team for more information.
I continue to get this errors and to reinstall itunes. I do not know if the cause is microsoft visual C++ or itunes installation has a bug that caused the problem.
Anyone know how to fix this problem. Cannot download lates version of Itunes.
ThanksClick here and follow the instructions. You may need to completely remove and reinstall iTunes and all related components, or run the process multiple times; this won't normally affect its library, but that should be backed up anyway.

I have the latest version of Itunes but it freezes my whole computer when it starts up
I have the latest version of Itunes but it freezes my whole computer when it starts up. I have installed/reintalled Itunes but it still stops my whole computer when I start Itunes.
OK, so we rule out LSP then,
Try following steps one at a time and test your itunes:
1. Restart computer, right mouse click iTunes icon and select "Run As Administrator", now try your itunes.
2. If that does not work, check to see if this file APSDaemon.exe is the problem here.
Close your iTunes.
Press Ctrl-Alt-Del key and choose Task Manager. In the "Processes" Tab, select the file APSDaemon.exe and click End Prosses button, then close the task manager window.
Now open itunes and see if it is working?
If that works, to prevent having to do the same process everytime you restart Windows, go to. START button, type in
MSCONFIG
Hit ENTER
Click STARTUP Tab, Uncheck "Apple Push", click OK.
Restart Windows.
3. If that fails or you don't see ApsDaemon.exe in the Processes, refer to following article to remove SC files:
http://support.apple.com/kb/TS2363
4. If that fails, repair or reinstall your Quicktime. START / CONTROL PANEL / PROGRAMS N FEATURES / hightlight QUICKTIME and click REPAIR. -
Attempted to update iTunes on January 23rd and it appeared to install properly. When I tried to open iTunes on January 24th, it would not open and gave me an error message that said "iTunes was not installed correctly. Please reinstall iTunes. Error 7 (Windows error 126)" I then tried to reintall iTunes and it again appeared to install properly but when it attempted to open, I was given the same error message.
Taken at face value, you're having trouble with an Apple Application Support program file there. (Apple Application Support is where single copies of program files used by multiple different Apple programs are kept.)
Let's try something relatively simple first. Restart the PC. If you're using Vista or 7,now head into your Uninstall a program control panel, select "Apple Application Support" and then click "Repair". If you're using XP,head into your Add or Remove Programs control panel, select "Apple Application Support", click "Change" and then click "Repair".
If no joy after that, try the more rigorous uninstall/reinstall procedure from the following post. (If you've got XP, although the procedure is for Vista and 7, just read "Computer" as "My Computer", read "Uninstall a program control panel" as "Add or Remove programs control panel" and assume the system is 32-bit, and you'll be doing the right things.)

Installing itunes on new dell/ Vista, error that no audio cd can be found
After installing intunes on my new dell laptop, got message that it "was not properly installed. If you wish to import or burn cd's, you need to reintall iTunes". I uninstalled and reinstalled it. Same error message. Diagnostics says "no audio CD found". I'm on my 4th out of 5 allotted downloads because of old dell crashing. don't want to uninstall again if I can help it. Please help me.
SandycNew Dell in title, old Dell in comment. Have you tried updating the driver for the device from the Dell website? Put the service tag number in and it should show you all available downloads.
And 4th out of 5 allotted downloads? Are you referring to authorizations? De-authorize the machine before you remove the software, if that is what you are actually talking about. -
Can anyone help. I was happily using itunes and then went to upgrade and now I have had all manner of issues with itunes. First I could use itunes but could not get web access wirelessly, so have reintalled itunes about 20 times, trying to follow advice on this site but I am sick of itunes now.
My current problem is that I install itunes 6, click on it and it will not open. I have tried to follow advice on this site but to no avail nothing helps...please help, help, help as this is so depressing! Ever since itunes messed with my PC it also now takes about 10 mins to shut down. I tried to install the old version of itunes and just got a crash box.
I am running Norton 2005 and have updated everything. PLEASE HELP!hi Stu!
My current problem is that I install itunes 6, click on it and it will not open.
okay,
b if you're not getting any error message whatsoever,
this is probably your Norton Internet Security 2005. first try:
b noir, "itunes wont open" #6, 02:11pm Oct 3, 2005 CDT
... but if no joy with that, try:
Lorraine M, "NIS/i-tunes problem rectified" #2, 01:51am Oct 17, 2005 CDT
b if you're getting an error message,
post back to let us know what it says. include error message numbers if you're getting any.
keep us posted.

I am trying to reintall itunes on my PC. When trying to do so the installer states" Service Apple mobile device'(servuce Apple mobile device)failed to start.Verify that you have sufficent privledges to start system services. It then does not give me any further info on how to do this. What do I do?
Try a more recent version of my advice. The "for older video cards version" may work when the default version doesn't.
For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.
The further information area has direct links to the current and recent builds in case you have problems downloading, need to revert to an older version or want to try the iTunes for Windows (64-bit - for older video cards) release as a workaround for installation or performance issues, or compatibility with QuickTime or third party software.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there are also links to backup and recovery advice should it be needed.
