When starting Window XP on my laptop (which was connected, in the past, in a wi-fi network now no more available) appears immediatly this allert: "iTunes Helper was not installed correctly. Please reinstall iTunes. ERROR 7."
Reistallation of older or up to date  iTunes versions is impossible because: "Installation package iTunes.msi is located on a network resource not available" and because "It is impossible to remuove thew previous verson of iTunes. Impossible fto find the path."
    Someone can help me ???
    Thank,
    Gerald

Take a look at iTunes for Windows: "Error 7" message when opening iTunes. Perhaps your .NET Framework needs a repair.
For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.

  • Reistallation of Photoshop Elements 10 on new computer

I installed Adobe Photoshop Elements 10 with Premiere Elements 10 on my computer and on my laptop.
My old computer is crashed. Now, I want to install Elements on the new one but cannot deinstall/deacivate it on the old one because of a hardddisc-crash.
    Can you help me?
    Thanks.

You will need to contact activation support:

  • The sound of 'mono' tracks is broken after a reistallation

    Evening,
I had to make tabula rasa of my Windows and after I re-installed everything I can't work with my old projects.
First I try to re-locate the files I used in my projects and it says 'The selected file cannot be linked because it has 1 audio channel(s) and the clip was created with 2 audio channels(2).' (I open the same .prproj file and try to link back the same .avi files I used.)
I managed to link them anyway after I opened the project, only to discover that whenever I try to play the clip, the sound of the videos turned to high-pitched screeching - but the sound of the stereo audio-only files is all right. This is how it looks and sounds when I open it and link all my files back:
PLEASE don't tell me to try to modify the files - those are THE files I used to create the project in the first place! Everything was perfectly fine, but after I reinstalled windows I suppose something is... missing from my system? Some codec, maybe?
I can't import those files into a new project either - I get the same screeching, even if I try to Modify > Audio Channels into something else before putting them on the timeline.
I am using 'Premiere Pro WDM Sound', and I don't have any other options. Installing and choosing ASIO4ALL makes ALL my sound disappear. I have Realtek High Definition Audio, latest driver. Windows 8. None of the devices are muted.
I recorder the files with BandiCam. MediaInfo describes the properties of the audio track of those files as:
    ID                              : 1
    Format                        : MPEG Audio
    Format version            : Version 1
    Format profile              : Layer 2
    Codec ID                    : 50
    Duration                      : 14s 928ms
    Bit rate mode              : Constant
    Bit rate                        : 320 Kbps
    Channel(s)                  : 2 channels
    Sampling rate              : 48.0 KHz
    Compression mode      : Lossy
    Stream size                : 583 KiB (3%)
    Alignment                    : Aligned on interleaves
Interleave, duration      : 24 ms (0.72 video frame)
Interleave, preload duratio : 24 ms
Whenever I try to import them, Premiere processes them as '11025 Hz - 16 bit - Mono' with 1 audio track.

The results are mixed... What I'm doing:
Exporting the file's audio to wav
    Renaming the wav to mpg
Importing it back with the original audio track disabled
Direct strim copy the file into another avi file.
    What I'm getting:
The old files I'm replacing work all right... I recorder them with a while back using Chromatic MPEG 1 Video I Frame. That's really something already! Thanks! (Even though I still don't understand why did it have to happen, and I'll have to do it with dozens of files... ugh...)
And then there's the new files... I switched to XVID (MPEG-4 Visual Simple@L1, according to Media Info) while recording at some point, and those videos are not synched (are faster than the audios) in Premiere (but not VLC or Windows Media Player). Any ideas how to deal with it?

  • Right way to reinstall OS 9.2.1-9.2.2 update & SAVE OUTLOOK MESSAGES etc

I have now an original OS 9.2.1 CD to make the reistallation of the system on a Powerbook G3 (Wallsteet 266 Mhz, HD 4Gb) already equipped with 9.2.2.
    - Once having installed the 9.2.1, it's enough to download the 9.2.2 update I see in 'Apple Support', install it, and that is all?
    - In Mac HD>Applications>Apple Extra on my Powerbook there is a folder 'Mac OS 9.2.2 updating', that contains several elements among which 'Update to Mac OS 9.2.2': I opened it and it seems to be what needs to install 9.2.2. Could have it been left there by the people who previously installed it on the computer? Can I use it directly to reinstall 9.2.2?
    - Of course I will backup all my files, but what to do exactly to save my Outlook mail messages (they are thousands) and my Explorer favourites, and what to do exactly to have them available again, once having reinstalled the system?
    - what to do if I want also to import all messages, addresses, accounts, etc, from the Wallstreet to another Powerbook, either in another Outlook or in Entourage or in Mail?
    Thank you for any help.

Assuming you mean Outlook Express, Entourage and later OE versions store their messages, etc, in the Microsoft User Data at the top level of your Documents folder.
Simply copying that folder, making your new installations, copying MSUD back then Restarting will feed the old data to new configuration... (Please remember, MSUD from the new configuration must be Trashed before the old data can be copied back)
In Explorer use File>Export Favorites to put them somewhere safe before the update, then pull them back with File>Import Favorites…
When you want also to import all messages, addresses, accounts, etc, to another Powerbook that depends whether you're simply trying to replace what's on the target Mac with the data from the source Mac, or merge two sets of data.
To simply replace what's on the target Mac with the data from the source Mac, as above copy the entire MSUD…
To fully merge two Outlook or Entourage data sets is certainly not possible if the source data contains mugshots or user-defined Categories. Mail and iCal might fully Import OE or Entourage messages and Calendar events but I don't believe Address Book will swallow all their contact details, and you may also be thwarted by other things I don't know about.
Beside the formal Export-Import method, you can drag and drop Entourage messages, complete mail folders, calendar events and contacts into Finder folders.
Messages and mail folders can then be dragged into any other open Entourage.
Calendar events become .ICS files and contacts become .VCF cards which will automatically join Entourage on a new host once they're double clicked open…

  • Display+graphics issues.

I play World of Warcraft, and have on my MBP for 2 years. i had no problems with it until recently when i had extra RAM installed. since then, several issues have begun.

I have tried only having WoW running, i have turned up the rpm on my fan and even turned down the frame rate on WoW to 15 from its normal 60. still, the fragmentation persists. the Tech Support on worldofwarcraft.com suggested it may be an issue with my computer, and here i am now.
If this were the only problem though, i would call it a minor nusance. it gets worse.
The screen goes black randomly. the computer is still on, it is not asleep as it does not respond to any key commands, and the only way to reverse the effect is by forcing a shut down and restarting the computer.
Similarly, the computer will freeze. i had previously thought this to be a PC issue, but now i see my mac doing it as well. the screen freezes, the rainbow wheel stops spinning, but the computer is on.
Also, I have experienced screen fragmentation while I am not playing WoW. Text overlapping text on web pages is not only neigh impossible to read, but is sometimes a precursor to the computer freezing.
It has been suggested that the issue is that with the higher RAM the graphics card for my comp is not connecting right. Or something like that, I am not the most computer savvy person I know. All i know is that my computer is having problems and its getting to the point where i want to throw it across the room.

If you have your restore CD you can try to run the Apple Hardware Test by booting up with the CD in the drive and holding down (I believe) the 'D' key during startup. This will bring up the Hardware Test, which you could run to determine if it's able to detect a hardware fault. However, it is possible for a hardware issue to exist, but not show up on the test, so keep that in mind.
Another thing to try is, as I said above, rule out a software issue by performing a complete erase and re-install of the OS and WoW. This would include redownloading all the patches and add-ons, but if you're going to try and rule out software, it's the only thorough way to do so.
If the Hardware Test finds issues, or if the software reistallation doesn't result in any improvement, that would increase the likelihood that it's a hardware issue.
