Rejected by HP for Windows 7 Upgrade

I bought my computer in the required time and my model is eligible for the upgrade. I uploaded the packing code which was located on the side of the box in which my computer came in. I received an email saying my request for Windows 7 was denied and now it wont let me upload anything else. What should I do?

CiscoSecure ACS v2.4 for Windows NT Upgrade

We still have two ancient instances of CiscoSecure ACS v2.4 for Windows NT running on our network. ACS1 (primary) and ACS2 (secondary). I would like to upgrade these, not only because of how old they are but because of an issue trying to replicate the user and group database from ACS1 to ACS2. When trying to replicate the user and group database the logs say it's successful but the databases don't match. ACS2 is missing some of the users that are in ACS1. I have successfully replicated the interface database. But for whatever reason, the user and group database will not replicate.
First, is there any other way I can get the user and group database copied from ACS1 to ACS2? Other than using the built in database replication tool?
Second, is there any way I can get these upgraded? I read that the recommended upgrade path is 2.4->2.6->3.0->3.2. But Cisco no longer has version 2.6 available for download. I really would like to upgrade rather than starting from scratch.

Think about it - would you want to try to upgrade Windows 98 to Windows 7? That's about an equivalent span of software product timeline.
The current product is so different that even if you could upgrade it would not be advisable to do so. While painful, it would be much better option to make a clean break with the old and move onto a current platform (e.g ACS 5.3).

Qosmio G50 - Second clone partition for Windows 7 upgrade

I have a Qosmio G50 with Vista Ultimate installed & I have the 2 upgrade discs for Windows 7.
Is there a way to clone C: (with Vista) onto another partition & use this 2nd cloned partition as the basis for upgrading to Windows 7? This way there would still be Vista to use for programs / drivers that are incompatible with Windows 7 & there would be a dual boot option with Windows 7.
Has anybody worked this out?

Hmm I dont think that would work since you would need a license for both OS's simultaneously. The Win7 upgrade license replaces the Vista License

First of all, let me tell you this. I have had a Lenovo computer for several years now and it has worked perfectly. Therefore I have had no need to be a forum member. Even so, since the computer is working fine, I feel I must bite the bullet and install Windows 7. Being retired on a small pension, I cannot afford to buy a new computer. Having spent hours in the internet searching on how to upgrade to windows 7, I am more confused than ever. I would like to know how I can, preferably with one click, how I can install the drivers required for W7. I would also like to know if I install them now, will my computer run on the new drivers before I upgrade to W7.
I also have a problem determining what type of computer I have. I have seen lists like 3000 series, idea centre, PC 100 series etc etc. Can you please tell me what type of computer it is? The only help I can offer is that it is a XXXXX.

Adding to sarbin's instructions, you should probably run the Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor from MS . That will show you what is compatible and what is not.

Drivers for windows 10 upgrade

Greetings,To who might be able to help. I have a Satilite c855d-s5106 ,Pscbqu-0060023, Zc29745q.... i want to upgrade to windows 10 and have been checking the support page for any updates for drivers or software to avoid any problems when i do upgrade. today I seen a page for windows 10 drivers however I'm not sure if they are for all computers or just for those who have recently upgraded, are any of these for my machine? can you shed some light on this? 3 identical machines (Aspire REVO R3700) Fail at the same spot for Windows 10 Upgrade

I am trying to upgrade 3 identical machines (Aspire Revo R3700) and they all fail at the same exact spot. This leads me to believe there is a hardware or driver issue for these. Am I missing something? I have tried all the suggested fixes for the error code recived but nothing works.

No video for windows 10 upgrade

Okay guys I am having the worst time trying to figure out how to solve this. I have recently upgraded to windows 10 and now skype doesn't seem to want to work anymore. Whenever I try skyping someone my video doesn't show up. It only shows that it's loading, but it never loads. The receiving video works as well as the audio. It's just my own video that doesn't want to work. I recently thought it was a problem I had with Microsoft store because skype didn't seem to want to update, but I finally got it to update, but it still did not solve the problem. Does ANYONE think they know what is causing this? I feel like it's just skype itself because windows 10 is still new, but I'm a pretty impatient person and would like this solved as soon as possible. Thanks to anyone in advance if they know the problem or may think so!

Make sure your hardware and drivers are compatible with Windows 10. Your video driver is most likely the issue. Video drivers in Windows 10 is a known issue and will most likely need an update. Download the latest Skype version; http://www.skype.com/go/getskype , download a current windows 10 compatible driver, remove the old video drivers, reinstall video drivers and Skype if you do not have the lastes version allready (7.7.x.x help > about Skype). If you still have issues, please let us know if you did a clean install (upgrade > refresh system), or is on a upgraded system containing old files/drivers etc. Be adviced that you cannot install a clean windows install without having a key ( before an upgrade is done ), so if you did not refresh or posses a Win 10 key for clean install, your just upgraded.

2011 MBP Install Vista just to use for Windows 7 Upgrade?

I just bought a MBP 13" in July. In Bootcamp I would like to run vista but I have heard that you cannot. I can get a legal copy of vista for very cheap and am wondering if I could install it for the sole purpose of using the student discounted windows 7 download upgrade. It just works out cheaper for me that way. Will I even be able to install vista if even for this purpose?

Has anyone tried to just quit BCA? tell it you'll do it later. Then just do restart and open the tray wth Vista DVD and hold "C" and see.
My own logic: has to boot.
Lion still supports Vista if pre-installed, so it can't stop you from using your Vista DVD.
It would be really difficult to change something in GPT/MBR to block Vista from being installed but not if it is present. Seems like it is just a patch in Boot Camp Assistant 4 is all.
Does the Windows DVD need to be present during the partitioning? during the driver download phase? can you download drivers now while the Windows DVD will be bought or shipped later?
I totally understand not supporting XP on new hardware. And Microsoft already dropped Vista SP1 support (assume SP2 is current and there may not be any plan for SP3??)
To block install or reinstall if you have Vista DVD would be extreme overthetop. Next to impossible.

Qosmio X300-15U - Product key for Windows 7 upgrade disk

I have a Qosmio X300 15U, and just bought DVD upgrade for the OS: from Vista64 to Win 7 (home premium).
I got it by Toshiba Winodws 7 upgrade site.
I installed the upgrade and it's working fine, so far.
Only possible problem for the future, is that I cannot seem to find the Windows 7 product key label attached on the DVD paper case (probably lost it)
I have the DVD (for other serials, or so...)
Does anybody know if it's possible to make Toshiba support, send my old Windows 7 product Key or a new one (just in case of reinstall...)
It also appears that Microsoft has validated my install through their Tool (WGA, I think)
Do I need to revert to MS (paid) assistance, for such a (simple, to me) case?

I don't know if Toshiba can send you a new productkey-label, you should call the helpdesk. But to find your productkey you need a key finder tool.

Ok, I'm not sure if you've tried any troubleshooting yet so forgive me if I'm suggesting things you've already tried. First, unplug anything you can, see if that works. If it doesn't, boot the Windows 10 USB (if you don't have one here are instructions on how to create one) and select "Repair PC". Try the troubleshooter, if that doesn't fix anything, try repair startup. If none of those options work, open the command prompt (under advanced options). Try entering "bootrec /fixmbr", if that doesn't work, try entering "sfc /scannow". There are also some more involved methouds that have had mixed sucess here. A last resort would be to format the drive and then attempt the install. Good luck and let me know how it goes.

Drivers needed for windows os upgrade?

I'm updating my os from win98 to win2k.
do i need new drivers for pci-7344, pci-6110e and ni-5411 (for pci). Labview version, i believe is 5.1, hardware and software purchased in summer 2001.

Hello.
There are updated versions of the drivers you would need for those boards available on the web, but your LabVIEW version is very old and thus will not be compatible with those driver versions.
Hopefully you have the CDs with your older driver versions on them. Many drivers are available on the web at:

You will need NI-Motion, NI-DAQ, and NI-FGEN for the 5411.

CS2 for Windows - cost of upgrade to CS6

Can I upgrade CS2 for Windows to CS6 for Windows 7, and what is the cost? I am also currently subscribed to CC for the Mac, which will be continued. Thank you.

Apologies, I should have been clearer at the outset. I do all my bird photography on the Mac OSX platform via a desktop as well as a MBP when away. So, I have already two computers authorised as required and limited to. Lately, I have started astrophotography and the majority of my software is Windows 7 based, thus for ease I acquired a third computer, a PC laptop, for this purpose. I did start with Photoshop for Windows and upgraded as far as CS2 before changing to CS3 for the Mac and eventually (CS4, 5, and 6) to CC for the Mac. The question now is: can I deauthorise the Mac laptop in order to authorise the PC laptop and change back and forth as many times as I wish, and as often as I want? I am the only user, of course.
In reply #4 above, I had decided to simply copy my files onto an external drive and work off that in CC on the Mac, as I have been doing. Seeing I had CS for Windows in the fist place years ago, I was trying to find a solution at little or no cost to me, to upgrade that Windows version, but I guess it's not possible, unless your answer to my question above is affirmative. I have installed a Windows 7 Home Premium 64 on my HP TouchSmart IQ846 Desktop PC. Since i am not eligible for Windows 7 upgrade from HP, I would appreciate if you could provide the link to download the complete touchsmart application. I do not want to revert to Vista as it is very slow.

Acrobat XI Pro for OSX can't open password-protected pdfs created using Acrobat 9 Pro for Windows

I am having problems opening password-protected files created on a PC using Acrobat 9 Pro. I am running a MacBook Pro OSX 10.8.4 with Acrobat XI Pro. When I attempt to enter the password when prompted, a dialogue box pops up saying that I've entered the incorrect password. After many attempts, I am certain that the password entered is correct -- this is reinforced by the fact that i am able to open the same document using Mac's Preview software.

I was suddenly having the same problem in Acrobat XI Pro for Windows (recently upgraded to CC from Acrobat X). For the past while I've sometimes had to use the "insert from file" tool to get a page added from another file. I couldn't figure out why dragging sometimes would no longer work, but was too busy to go looking for a solution until tonight.
The solution was given by JoshTatum24 above. Switch from a scrolling page display to single page display. Now I can drag pages between documents again. THANK YOU Josh!
Oh, and CORREAdmin, it does not matter whether the hand or arrow selection tool is active, my mouse pointer is always an arrow when positioned in the page thumbnails panel. Switching selection tools does not make a difference in dragging, but switching between scrolling and single page display definitely DOES make the difference.
