Rejecting username/password in EAS setup on Pre

I have a new Pre and when I go to setup the device with my Exchange provider, I get a message saying the username and password is not correct when I click SignIn.  I have confirmed all of the settings and have typed in the password multiple times.  These same credentials and settings work on multiple other devices (other Palm device, laptop, etc), but not on this device.  I called my Exchange hosting provider and they said they have gotten a few other calls from people with the same problem with the Pre and have not been able to get it to work.
Is there anything specific in the username and password that the Pre is looking for (different than any other device that I am using that works fine)?
Thanks.
The exact message is:  Error      Your username or password is not correct.
(I have checked and doule checked that I have not misspelled the username or password, this same info works on other devices, and my Exchange host has been unable to get other Pre's to connect also)

This is what it looks like:
Company name: My Company
Company Website Domain name: mycompany.com
Internal company domain: mycomp.local
On the Pre for EAS:
Mailserver: use your website (with SSL): https://mail.mycompany.com
(without SSL): http://mail.mycompany.com
(assumes that your mail server use the mail. prefix...it might be exchange. or something else)
Domain: leave blank
username: MYCOMP.username
Password: password
That should do it from what I have read.  I am about to test the theory.

  • How do I setup Forms not to ask RAD username/password when opening a form

    Good day
I have setup oid and sso and they work I can sign on to database with an oid user using sqlplus.
If I set SsoDynamicResourceCreate=true and enter the user id and password in at the popup it works correct and won’t even ask it again
What I want to know how can set portal to use a RAD/DAS without prompting for a username password.
We need to do this for all +/- 30000 users and if so how do we do it pragmatically.
I think because I don’t have much APPS experience I basically don’t know where this must be set globally
    APPS is version 10.1.2

  • Problem with username/password using SQLAuthenticator

I want to setup SQLAuthenticator but authentication is refused because wrong username/password.
I am using JDev Studio Edition Version 11.1.2.1.0 with integrated WLS.
As a base I take this two URLs:
    http://weblogic-wonders.com/weblogic/2010/03/11/configuring-sql-authenticator-with-weblogic-server/ and
    http://biemond.blogspot.com/2008/12/using-database-tables-as-authentication.html
    1. I create db tables (default table names for SQLAuthenticator), but don't fill users and groups - OK
    2. In WLS I create new SQLAuthenticator Authentication provider inside deafult realm myrealm - OK
    3. I put this provider to the top among all three providers
    4. In JDev I configure ADF Security - define Enterprise Roles to matching to the names in GROUPS table of SQLAuthenticator - ??
    5. I Define Application users and roles and setup Resource grants
    6. I run my application
    7. In database tables USERS, GROUPMEMBERS, GROUPS I can see users and roles from Jdev, that means, at deploy time, this tables are filled too
    8. In WLS I can see Users and Groups under myrealm which are transfered at deploy time and mirrors USERS, GROUPMEMBERS, GROUPS
    9. In USERS table I can see password is encripted by {SHA-1}
But when try to login I am always rejected with "Invalid username or password".
Before setting up SQLAuthenticator (only default options) the logins were successful, so application shold be OK.
I try also with Plaintext Passwords Enabled and put into USERS table unencripted password, but without success.
I can confirm that SQLAuthenticator mechanism actually get password from USERS table. I replaced default SQL for getting password from
    SELECT U_PASSWORD FROM USERS WHERE U_NAME = ?
    to
select get_pwd(?) as U_PASSWORD from dual. In my get_pwd PL/SQL function I perform logging in I can see that this function was called.
So the problem is in WLS when comparing passwords.
Any suggestions, where to start digging?

The problem is solved! Crucial was hint from http://biemond.blogspot.com/2008/12/using-weblogic-provider-as.html:
The Control Flag for my new SQLAuthenticator Authentication provider must be changed from Optional to Sufficient AND
the Control Flag for existing DefaultAuthenticator must be changed from Required to Sufficient!
It seems that before SQLAuthenticator took password from USERS table, but didn't use it in the authentication process.

  • Why does my email account reject my password?

I went ahead and moved my mobileme account to icloud and since I did that my email going to my @me.com and @mac.com addresses rejects my password. I have changed everything I can think to change and read every help topic I can find on the subject and performed every fix they have suggested. I have to have access to this account as it is my primary email address for my non-profit organization! Someone tell me where I am going wrong!!! I really don't have the money to upgrade to Lion right now, but if that is what I have to do I guess I will eat that $60! Someone, anyone, tell me there is an easier explanation!

    markwmsn wrote:
There might actually be an iCloud issue also. I have been having intermittent password rejects with known-good passwords on my iOS 5.1 devices in the last day or two. (And yes, I have been having them on my pre-Lion Macs accessing iCloud, but they work most of the time.)
How do you know that the password(s) are OK?
Do your password(s) match these criteria?
Minimum of 8 characters, including at least 1 uppercase letter, 1 lowercase letter and 1 number, no special characters.
Verify that you are using the correct server credentials:
    IMAP (Incoming Mail Server) information:
    Server name: imap.mail.me.com
    SSL Required: Yes
    Port: 993
Username: [email protected] (use your @me.com address from your iCloud account)
    Password: Your iCloud password
    SMTP (outgoing mail server) information:
    Server name: smtp.mail.me.com
    SSL Required: Yes
    Port: 587
    SMTP Authentication Required: Yes
Username: [email protected] (use your @me.com address from your iCloud account)
    Password: Your iCloud password
Note: If you receive errors using SSL, try using TLS instead.
    Additional Information
SSL is required for both IMAP and SMTP connection with iCloud. POP is not supported by iCloud.

  • I have a old imac OSX.4.11.  Lately my .mac mail account quit working and rejecting my password, even a reset password

I have an old imac with the swivel flat screen-OSX4.11.  My .mac mail account has quit working--it rejects my password--even a reset password.  Connection Dr. says to "make sure username and password are correct", over and over.  Help!

    Hello,
Did you change it over to iCloud yet? It does work in 10.4.11
The Password rejection can confuse people since it's a catch all meaning...
This Password, Username, Authentication method... is not recognized on this Port to this Server, or a server end problem.
If using a browser to login via WebMail works it's not Name or Password, but one of the other ones.
    The receiving email ports are:
    IMAP is port 143
    IMAP-SSL is port 993
    POP is port 110
    POP-SSL is port 995
    Outgoing ports are...
SMTP and SMTP-SSL is on ports 25, 587 and 465. Port 587 has to be SSL, and port 465 is enforced TLS-wrapped and is generally used by Outlook users.
Do not delete the old account yet. sign up for an iCloud account if you haven't.
I understand .mac/.me mail will still come through. Do not delete the old account yet.
You cannot use .mac or MobileMe as type of Account, you have to choose IMAP when setting up, otherwise Mail is hard coded to change imap.mail.me.com to mail.me.com & smtp.mail.me.com to smtp.me.com, no matter what you try to enter.
iCloud Mail setup, do not choose .mac or MobileMe as type, but choose IMAP...
On second step where it asks "Description", it has to be a unique name, but you can still use your email address.
    IMAP (Incoming Mail Server) information:
        •    Server name: imap.mail.me.com
        •    SSL Required: Yes
        •    Port: 993
        •    Username: [email protected] (use your @me.com address from your iCloud account)
        •    Password: Your iCloud password
    SMTP (outgoing mail server) information:
        •    Server name: smtp.mail.me.com
        •    SSL Required: Yes
        •    Port: 587
        •    SMTP Authentication Required: Yes
        •    Username: [email protected] (use your @me.com address from your iCloud account)
        •    Password: Your iCloud password
Also, you must upgrade your password to meet the new criteria:  8 characters, including upper and lower case and numbers.  If you have an older password that does not meet these criteria, when you try to setup mail on your mac, using all of the IMAP criteria listed above, it will still give a server error message.  Go to   http://appleid.apple.com         then follow directions to change your password, then go back to setting up your mail using the IMAP instructions above.

  • A1 returning "username/password incorrect" messages on websites

I can't find other posts with this problem so I hope I don't show my ignorance here, but I can't believe I am the only one...
I recently purchased an IdeaPad A1-07 running Android 2.3.4. I attempted to update the system right out of the box, but the updater reported that I was up to date, so that should be set (I would think...). I downloaded the Netflix app from the Andriod app store (the A1 did not include it preloaded), and attempted to launch it. It launched fine into the login screen, but when entering the login info, the app returned a incorrect username/password error. I confirmed the info by logging in on through my PC to the Netflix site. I un-installed then re-installed the app with the same result. I then attempted to go to the website through the A1 browser and login there. Same result. Panicking, I attempted to use the A1 browser to login to FaceBook. Same result.
Here is the strangest part: I attempted to login to the same websites using the browser on my HTC Android Incredible 2 running Android 2.3.4, and was able to login in successfully to both sites.
Does anyone know what is going on here and how to fix it? This is a real deal breaker for me since I purchased this tablet specifically to use  with sites like Netflix and FaceBook, and I really don't know what else to do other than to try to return it and get a refund. Please help!
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Success! The GO keyboard app pre loaded by Lenovo wasn't the problem, but the input settings (Auto Capitalization, display suggestions, auto complete, auto space and key correction) were. Display suggestions probably wasn't part of the issue, but its just plain annoying, so I turned that off as well. I suspect that one of the other "auto" features was slipping in a character or space or two behind my back. I turned them all off, and no longer have an issue. I suspect that it was only one of them, but I would have had to run multiple experiments to narrow down the culprit, and I really don't want to bother. None of those things help me more than they hinder me anyway.
Find the settings under: settings/language & ketboard settings/Go keyboard for Lenovo/input setting. Good luck!

  • DAC Physical Data Source password change - invalid username/password

We are using DAC/Informatica for loading Peoplesoft data into the warehouse. The password for the peoplesoft source was changed recently. I changed the password in DAC under setup, Type source for the Peoplesoft DB. When I select 'Test Connection' I receive the message connection established successfully. When I restart the execution plan I still get the same error - invalid username/password for obi_infa_ps, which is the account we use for accessing the Peoplesoft DB. All of the DAC and Informatica services on the server have been shutdown and restarted - still getting the invalid username/password error.
Do I need to rebuild the execution plan? If I do, can I manually put in the needed refresh dates?

You will also need to update the username/password in the Informatica Workflow Manager.

  • Router No Asking For Username/Password

Having just upgraded from a WRT54G to a E2500 all I can say is that I'm disappointed with Cisco.
Having spent a few hours yesterday trying to resolve issues via Live Chat (ID 130105-001270 & 130105-002081) and spending more time today - I'm truly at wits end. I consider myself pretty knowledgeable with computers and networking.
I'm not sure if anyone from Cisco's Tech staff sees these posts but I don't know where else to "complain" in hopes that the next software/firmware update resolves these problem(s).
The first is my router's setup screens are totally open when using my desktop. The desktop is hardwired to the router and has the Cisco Connect software installed. I open the Cisco software and go to advanced settings. There I'm shown what my router's name is and its password. This is really strange - why would you wish to display this information PRIOR to requesting usename and password? However, once there you can go right into the setup screens by clicking OK.
I have also entered these screens directly without being prompted for username/password by using 192.168.1.1 or myrouter.local via Internet Explorer 8 or Google Chrome. At other times I am denied access because IE cannot display page.
I'm concerned because I can hide the Cisco Connect software however, anyone that uses my desktop has full access to my router via the web or Cisco Connect.
The second issue is that the password to enter the router and allow access to the internet IS THE SAME! When I had my WRT54G running I had one password (8 alpha characters) to enter setup screens. There was a router generated, 16 alpha/numeric character, password to allow outside devices such as laptops, TVs and game consoles access to the internet. When I set this router up I installed the 16 character password originally used so my laptop and Wii could connect without having to fool around with their settings. Everything was fine until I went into administration and changed the password to my old 8 character one. That is when I found out that the router uses this password setting under administration to control access to the internet AND access to the router settings!
I have uninstalled and reinstalled IE 8. I have ensured that my browser's history and caches are clear which they do when I shut IE down. I'm running Windows XP service pack 3 with the "proper" anti-virus and anti-malware software. My system is up-to-date.
I have ensured that the router is running the latest firmware 1.0.05 build 2 and software 1.4.11299.0.
I have seen other posts suggesting the removal of Cisco Connect however, I feel that this is a bandaid solution.
I'm not professing  to be a router technician however, I "feel" the problem might be the fact that the password issue is the problem. Since the same one is being used for both accessing the router and having the router grant access to the net, my desktop is allowed to access the setup screens without being prompted for username and password.
Again I hope SOMEONE from Cisco sees this and investigates.
Thanks for allowing me to "rant".
    Dave

Thank you zee29 for the reply however, when I change the router password under administration I'm presented with a screen that says the router's password has been changed on my next Cisco Connect startup. I click OK and then I'm presented with a screen that says BOTH passwords must be the same. This is crazy. My router is not secure on my desktop. Anyone who uses my desktop and wants to "fish" around can enter my router's settings without being presented with a password prompt.
And I'm still presented with the problem of connecting via 192.168.1.1. or myrouter.local using IE 8 in which a "page cannot be displayed" message appears. I can log in via Google Chrome however, once I enter the username and password once I'm able to access router without being prompted. The network isn't totally secure.
I have seen other posts where these Cisco routers are having "problems" when using IE. It would seem to me that Cisco would want to rectify this situation. Its not like I'm running a beta operating system that Cisco is not aware of. I'm running an XP system that is totally updated.
I've been running Linksys/Cisco routers for years and have never had these problems. If these "problems" continues I will have no choice but to purchase a router from another company such as Netgear and say goodbye to Cisco.
I want and need a SECURE network.

  • Authentication Scheme with Username / Password stored in App Table

    Hi all,
Up to now all of our applications have used SSO authentication, but I now need to step away from this to allow users from outside our organisation (and therefore not in our OID system) to use one specific application.
I therefore have a table in my application that stores username and password. I have a function that compares the entered username and password to this table and returns a boolean result. This function is then registered in my Authentication Scheme as the Authentication function.
All this works well and is causing no problems. The problem is that the password is stored and checked in plain text - obviuosly not very good.
How do I go about changing the password column in my table, the pages that allow this password to be set and updated and the authentication function that checks the username / password to use some form of encryption?
Also, do I need to be worrying about all the other fields (Page Sentry Function,Session Verify Function, Pre-Authentication Process etc) that the Authentication Scheme offers me - or can I just leave these blank as they are now.
If someone can give me a complete 'out-of-the-box' solution that would be wonderful - otherwise a good hard pusj int he right direction would be much appreciated.
    Many thanks,
    Martin

    Hello Martin,
If you check out the Discussion Forum application here, you should find the information you need. This app stores an encrypted version of the user's password in the table.

  • What exactly is the receiving username/password required for

    Hi All,
I have the ServiceDesk Appliance installed and trying to set it up.
I am now at Setup > Email > Server. Here in the "Receiving" section, what exactly do I need the "UserName"/"Password" for?
Can I use and existing username? or do I need a have a separate Username dedicated for the ServiceDesk?
    Regards,
    Yaser.

    Yaser,
I will usually create an account specific for Service Desk. This is the user
account that will authenticate and Pop the mail form your mail
system(GroupWise..:-) ) back into the Service Desk application.
    Hope that helps

  • Datasource.getConnection(username, password)

I was able to setup the bookstore example in the Webservices tutorial. In this example they make use of a JDBC connection, using JNDI contexts.
I am using Tomcat 4.1.18 as Web container and I have a configuration file with the JDBC parameters. The problem is that username and password are included in this xml file. I want to leave these out and use the getConnection(username, password) method instead.
When I do this I get an UnsupportedException. The stacktrace is mentioning something about PoolingDataSource. I am missing something or is it just not possible using this method in this configuration??

The getConnection(username, password) method in apache DBCP (Data Base Connection Pool) implementation always returns a java.lang.UnsupportedOperationException. In fact this is the only thing it does.
You must use the getConection() method instead.
If you use a framework that calls the getConnection(username, password)
method and you dont have any way of changing that call try to compile yourself the tomcat dbcp jar file changing the method code to:
public Connection getConnection(String uname, String passwd)
    throws SQLException
    //OLD CODE: throw new UnsupportedOperationException();
    return getConnection();
    So it works in the same way that getConnection();

  • "ORA-01017 invalid username/password: logon" --- Help Please !!!

    Hello Peter,
Sorry for sending an unexpected mail.
I am stuck and really want your help. I have seen your email address on OTM website.
Aim: To run the JAVA code samples provided in Oracle 9i DATA MINING suite
    on windows 2000.
I have installed Oracle 9i enterprise edition and
also Oracle 9i Data mining (ODM).
I have lot of problems in username/password authentication.
everytime I run the ODM setup, irrespective of the default
    name/password
which is ODM/odmpw it says "ORA-01017 invalid username/password: logon"
I was just working on the Oracle 9i DataMining installation and found something really interesting
I was wondering if you can solve this:
    1. I created user SCOTT and ODM using SQL Plus queries by logging system/manager.
and when I typed "select username from dba_names" it gave me ODM and SCOTT as
users and hence I was happy.
    2. Then I uninstalled DATA MINING suite and reinstall it thinking this time it should
get ODM/odmpw as username and password as and DBA user/password being
system/manager. When uninstalling DATA MINING suite ODM user gets dropped
and when reinstalling ODM suite, it never make ODM user back in Oracle 9i database.
Hence it is not finding ODM user anymore and hence "ORA-01017 invalid username/password: logon"
    error occurs.
Now can you tell me what can be done in order to make the ODM recreate when installing
    DATA MINING suite.
Please reply me as I am badly stuck.
I at least know why problem is occurring now looking for solution.
    Thanks
    Nishant

  • Invalid username / password message from Boingo

I'm having trouble connecting to Boingo hotspots.  From the Boingo front page I can select the btopenzone partner login, but I'm asked to enter my username "including @btopenzone.com".  I enter my BTFON username which ends @btinternet.com and my usual password but this is rejected by Boingo as invalid.  I've double checked that I'm using the correct username / password combination by logging into the BTFON account details site.  Does anyone have any idea what the problem might be, or even where to report/escalate this problem??
    Thanks
    Mike

You cannot use partner sites like Boingo, they are not part of the BT FON/Openzone package for BT Broadband users.
Only paying BTOpenzone users can use third party hotspots.
There are some useful help pages here, for BT Broadband customers only, on my personal website.
