m trying to work out an offline-online workflow strategy with PPro55. I have ALEXA PR4444 LogC files and corresponding externally-converted "edit proxies" (PR LT w/LUT & TC burn). I am editing with the "proxies" and then want to swap the files out for the full-res PR4444 camera files. File names, TC and reel numbers all match between the two sets of files.
I have attempted to use Project Manager to create a "trimmed, offline" project and then relink the clips to the camera originals. When I do this, the timeline clips all start at the start-point of each file and not the correct in-point. I presume this is a bug. Anyone else tried this with success? The same method works perfectly in FCP 7. Also in PPro55, if I export a CMX 3600 EDL and then import and relink the EDL, it also works properly. Thoughts?

Wil, when I worked on Avid DS the workflow there fulfilled the expectation that a trimmed project could match back to just the timecode areas of the clips used.
On a large project (SD) I would digitize lost of sutff in low resolution. I would cut the sequence together. The I would duplicate the sequence and switch to high resolution. That way I only redigitized what was needed. And when I archived the project it was in effect was trimmed down. At first when using PrP I had an expectation of a kind of similar process albeit with HD and files.
But I do follow your logic.

Title Tool bug / Trying to use PPro in a professional setting

Create several titles, everything is fine, copy and paste the clips further down the timeline and when I try to revise the title it will not show the video behind the title, it either shows black or checkerboard. Even if I create new titles it won't show the video backround, BUT if I copy and paste everything in a new timeline it all works fine.
How can I view the title tool in my broadcast monitor through Aja 3G? How can I zoom in the canvas in the title tool when working with small disclaimer type?

Cuda monitor update /trying to use PPro in a professional setting

When Cuda acceleration is turned on monitors will not update unless I move one frame forward or back, so I have to turn GPU off when making adjustments, then tirn it back on for playback.

You bring up lots of valid points. I scoped out the Title Tool and did not see any way to zoom in
. I am not currently using my AJA for external displays since the AJA sequences seem to have some performance issues with certain format / codecs that the Adobe sequences do not.
Not quite like editing on the Avid DS is it? (You did participate in the Google Avid DS list didnt you?)

Audio Glitches /Trying to use PPro in a professional setting

Tried every audio setting combonation there is between the mac audio settings and and the setting in Premiere, still get audio drop outs / static filled audio, or the audio just plain completly cuts out while playing down the timeline......Real ***** when it happens laying off HD-D5 masters.
I have the Premiere set to digital out, I have the mac settings set to AJA3G
If the mac settins are not set to 3G then no audio goes to the router in the machine room.

Just tried to trial the Adobe Photoshop CS6 as having issues trying to use disks...

Downloaded fine but no matter what version I try downloading I seem to get message setup.xml could not be loaded. File corrupt? Help please am no techie and been on it all morning using vista home basic service pack 2 if it helps? Thanks.

Issue trying to use old Mac Time Machine backup on new Mac

I've just got a new iMac 27" to replace my old 21" and am planning to restore files from the Time Machine backup I have. On the iMac 21" I used an external hard-drive connected to an Airport Extreme Base Station to back up using Time Machine. On the new Mac the external drive is connected directly to the USB port. The old machine is now about 10,000 miles away from me.
The issue I have is I cannot read the back-up from the old machine on the new.
During the first startup I tried to read from the Time Machine backup but the system told me I could not use it because it was from a different machine - it read all the back-up dates and let me chose, but did not allow to use it.
After startup was completed, I run a software update to make sure everything had the same version and tried Migration Assistant (with the HD still connected to the USB port), but the wheel keeps spinning not finding any disk.
I can read the .sparsebundle file on the external drive and I see it is intact. Disk Utility recognizes it and Status is Not mounted. When I try to open it with Disk Utility it says it is not mountable.
Any of you know how I can resolve this? I am thinking of a way of opening the file and reading it.
I really just need my music, my movies and my pictures, but I have 1.2T of that so it is not something I can download from the old Mac.

Issue trying to use a Sharepoint document library as a network drive on which a software can create and delete content

Hi,
With my colleagues we are using a dictation/transcription software which automatically creates files, moves them from folders to folders and deletes them. Until now, all this was done on a network drive, but the drive will soon be unavailable and
we will eventually have to use a SharePoint document library instead, and I am currently testing this option.
I have created a document library (with no versioning and no check out required) and I mapped it as a drive in Windows Explorer to link the SharePoint folders with the dictation software. Everything seems to work fine except
for one thing: when the dictation software tries to move files from one folder to another, the files are pasted in the destination folder but not deleted from the original folder and an error message pops up saying "delete operation has failed".
So the softaware is able to automatically create new content in the document library but is unable to automatically delete (I can however delete manually through the software interface).
Any idea on what is causing this issue and how to solve it?

According to your description, my understanding is that the documents cannot be deleted in the original folder when using the software with SharePoint library.
I recommend to verify the things below:
Which credential did you use to map the document library as network drive?
If the credential was windows logon, then I recommend to check if the documents can be deleted in the network drive which was connected to SharePoint library directly.
If the documents can be deleted in the network drive which was connected to SharePoint library, then the issue may be due to the compatibility problem between the software and WebDAV. Then you need to check the issue using third-party software provider.

ACS 3.3 issues trying to use AD authentication

I am trying to set up ACS to use AD for authentication. I have followed the instructions Cisco gives out, but my test account still fails when I try to log into any network device. I've looked in the ACS logs and it keeps showing "CS user unknown". This tells me that the ACS box is not talking to AD correctly. Any suggestions?

Go to acs--->Unknow user policy----> Check the following external user databases--->Select windows.

HT6030 Apple Mail setup Issues. I have issues trying to use apple mail even after all updates and fixes. What else can i do to try and use it?

Trying to use multiple if statements to set a variable in my script

I am importing a csv file to create user accounts.. i have it working.. but now i want to have the script look at a variable, and based on that variable set other variables, like the ou or home directory path etc..
here's what i have so far.. it seems to select the 2nd option ASH unless i # it out then it selects the first option..i am clearly missing something simple here.... i can't just use an else statement as i will need many lines of logic to support the many
different ou's, home dir shares etc.. globally...

When firefox opens a pdf file it always tries to use my old Adobe professional instead of my V9.3 Adobe reader. Can I change this?

I can't really add any more than this. Often the PDF is incompatible with this older (v6) of adobe professional.

What is your operating system?
Open a PDF from where? If online, in what browser?

Can't use the Zoom Tool to set the Magnification level of pages to diff sizes from the preset ones

Hi, I am trying to use the Zoom Tool and "Set Magnification" on my Dreamweaver CS5.5 in order to view my pages at different magnifications when working on them. My problem is that I need to use different sizes than those sizes that are available under the preset magnification levels list (which are for example 100%, 150% or 200%). These are the ones that come up on the zoom pop-up menu. The dreamweaver tutorial says that I need to type in the size I want (e.g. 115% or 130%) in the "zoom text box" and it will then apply that size to the page but the box does not let me change whatever size is currently in it. I can’t override or delete whatever preset size is in the box or do anything to change the zoom from the pre-set levels! I would really appreciate some help with this thanks

Hi Ben, thank you for the reply, unfortunately that was one of the pages I was looking at to try and fix this issue but it is of no help.
The page says for zooming in and out of a page to "Type a magnification level in the Zoom text box.". My dreamweaver will not let my type a manficiation level in the zoom text box. It just won't let me override whatever is in the box (e.g. 100%) so I can't change it from the default pre-set magnification levels. It is so frustrating!
Does anyone else have any other ideas?

I am getting follwing error when trying to issue print output using VL02N tcode:
Error: Update was terminated.
When seen in SM13 i saw following info for function module RV_MESSAGE_UPDATE,which was showing error:
Error Info: MC 601: Object requested is currently locked by user RAMU.
When seen in SM12,i don't find any lock by above user RAMU(which is my user id itself).
I request please give me some inputs on how to avoid this error.

Hi Nam,
This probelm is becuase you are trying to enter a record for which primary key already exists in the table.
The insertion you are doing with a set of values which already exist and sap is getting this error that the "Duplicate record during insertion". try to check your insertion values and through se16 check if they already exist in the table mkpf.
To rectify the data or else change the table and add one more unique to the primary key.

If it has a cloud icon it means its no longer on your device. Tapping on the cloud will effectively reinstall the App from scratch to your device.
There is no way to remove it from the cloud because its not yours to remove from there. Its the general App repository, you are just given access to it to download content you've already purchased.
