Related to Temporary file
Dear All,
When I save recode through our application,it is not saving in database due to some temporary file,when I delete all temporary file then it is saving in database.
Can any one give solution for that?
Thanks in advance
the problem is with your buffer storage. due to in sufficient space in the swap as per the RAM. the temporary files are used for the
memory assistance.. and hence that is the problem...
you can use host cmd for deleting the temp. files
and you can configure your ram and swap space too....

Ldapsearch -t option and "temporary files"
The MAN page shows
"A single -t writes retrieved non-printable values to a set of temporary files."
I am using a single -t and the attribute I am returning shows like "cACertificate::" where the :: implies it is binary.
But I can NEVER find where the file for the "temporary files" is created.
Normally on Linux/Unix I would expect to find these it /tmp.
Any ideas?
Thanks -jimOk, mkstemp (which is the C call being used underneath the ldapsearch -t and -tt switches) returns a "safe" temporary file path, which means the man page is +way wrong+ here.
The temporary files are logged under +/var/folders/{random stuff expunged}/ldapsearch-objectClass-XXXXXX+ and which means (if you want this to go somewhere else) then you'll want to use -T /var/tmp or whatever.
The target file locations for the various chunks are displayed when the following syntax is used:
ldapsearch -LLL -x -h ldap.example.com -b "dc=ldap,dc=example,dc=com" -tt
Related commands (and useful Google search targets) include:
$ getconf DARWINUSER_CACHEDIR
$ getconf DARWINUSER_TEMPDIR
Whether logging a radar against the documentation is in your future or mine is an open question. -
Ctxhx temporary files not removed?
Hi,
I am using Context in a 8.1.6.0.0 database.
The documents that are indexed are primarily acrobat files.
Now I have found many thousands of zero byte files in /var/tmp ,
in a format like "AcroAAAZcaqXn" and all created by user oracle.
To me this looks like temporary files not cleaned up, is this
a known problem with ctxhx?
regards /CurtTo quote the Pacman page in Archwiki:
Note: pacman will not remove configurations that the application itself creates (for example .dot files in the home folder).
Configurations (system wide and not current user related) are also stored in /etc. Regarding these config files, this is what the pacman page in Archwiki has to say:
Pacman saves important configuration files when removing certain applications and names them with the extension: .pacsave. To delete these backup files use the -n option
User specific config files, which are created in $HOME are left to the user to clean up

After upgrade to CF9, CFIMAGE "Unable to create temporary file" error
We recently upgraded from CF8 to CF9 Enterprise. I'm getting an "Unable to create temporary file" error on
my CFIMAGE resize calls. We use sandbox security. I assume I need to grant write access to whatever folder CF uses for temp files, but which folder is it? The same code (and sandbox settings) ran fine in CF8....
Note, if I attempt to add C:\JRun4\servers\cfusion\SERVER-INF\temp to the sandbox for this particular app, CF crashes on all requests across all apps on the server with a:
Security: The requested template has been denied access to C:\JRun4\servers\cfusion\cfusion-ear\cfusion-war\WEB-INF\cfclasses\cfapp2ecfc1510154633.c lass.
The following is the internal exception message: access denied (java.io.FilePermission C:\JRun4\servers\cfusion\cfusion-ear\cfusion-war\WEB-INF\cfclasses\cfapp2ecfc1510154633.c lass read)
ColdFusion cannot determine the line of the template that caused this error. This is often caused by an error in the exception handling subsystem.
I need to restart CF to get everything working again.Another update. Had a problem with a sandboxed CF9 site doing a simple CFIMAGE READ to a memory variable. Got an "Unable to create temporary file" error.
Inserted the following code in the file upload page:
<cfscript>
writeoutput("Temp Dir : " & createobject("java","java.lang.System").getProperty("java.io.tmpdir") );
</cfscript>
... and it reveals the temp directory as C:\WINDOWS\TEMP. Added that to the sandbox, and the CFIMAGE READ is working properly now.
Note this seems inconsistent with CFIMAGE RESIZE behavior which appears to use the CF GetTempDirectory() value, which in my case is C:\JRun4\servers\cfusion\SERVER-INF\temp\cfusion-war-tmp\
For reference, see the section "Sandbox Considerations" at this link:

Rep-0118:Unable to create temporary file error in Report Builder
I have installed Report Builder (latest edition) for windows 2000 server, but my users on windows XP cannot create the report it gives them
Rep-0118:Unable to create temporary file error
Please help me out
VijayYou have to change registry settings by going through REGEDIT. Under hkey_local_machine/software/oracle/<oracle home>, look for variable REPORTS_TMP. Change value for this, for example c:\windows\temp or something like that where you want oracle reports to create temp files.

again and close captivate the file again gets converted to .tmp. I
am using Captivate 3 on Windows XP service pack 2. Please helpIt sounds as if you downloaded Adobe Acrobat Pro. If you did, uninstall it. Then repair Adobe Reader.
The free Acrobat account has no connection to any of this. -
My iMac just crashed, and I had some documents open in Pages that were unsaved. Is there a temporary file or backup file that I can access as on a PC? (I have just looked in Timemachine which I had operating, but it did not seem to have any temp files in it at all - not sure what it would be useful for then).
Any suggestions?Question asked and answered several times.
If you didn't save, nothing is recoverable.
iWork apps don't create temp files so, as far as you on't save something, Time Machine can't archive it.

My computer crashed and I did a Windows 7 system restore. Everything seemed fine but afterward, Firefox would not launch -- I just got a popup box saying Firefox was already running and that I had to either shut down the program or restart my computer. I restarted my computer several times but it did not work.
I then uninstalled Firefox and tried re-installing it. I then received a popup box saying 7-zip, another program I had installed, couldn't create the temporary files needed. I uninstalled 7-zip, thinking that would solve the problem. Instead, I still get the same message, even without the program installed. I'd appreciate any advice ASAP -- I work from home and have hundreds of bookmarks and tabs that I use every day. Thanks so much!Do a clean (re-)install:
* Download a fresh Firefox copy and save the file to the desktop.
* Firefox 4.0: http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/all.html
* Uninstall your current Firefox version and remove the Firefox program folder before installing that copy of the Firefox installer.
* Don't remove personal data if you uninstall the current version.
* It is important to delete the Firefox program folder to remove all the files and make sure that there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling.
Your bookmarks and other profile data are stored elsewhere (not in the Firefox program folder) and won't be affected by a reinstall, but make sure that you do not select to remove personal data if you uninstall Firefox. -
How does one remove temporary files from Safari? A friend logged on to her Facebook account using my iMac running Mac OSX 10.7.5 and Safari 6.1.6. Now I can't remove her e-mail address from my computer. When I open Facebook her address shows in the user button. I do not have a Facebook account. It was suggested to me that I try clearing temporary files from Safari but I can't find anything that tells me how to do this. Are temporary files the same as the cache? It also was suggested that I try clearing Safari cache. How do I do that?
Check Safari/Preferences/Passwords to see if the Facebook account is there. If so, select it and remove it. If you are still having problems, Safari/Preferences/Advanced - enable the Develop menu, then go there and Empty Caches. Quit/reopen Safari and test. If that doesn't work, Safari/Reset Safari.

When ERASE FREE SPACE is run, what is the name of the temporary file and where is it located so I may manually delete it? The HARD DISK UTILITY shows I have zero free space

IE has a simple means to delete both cookies and temporary files. I can delete cookies in FF but there is no way found to delete temporary files. This is a design feature flaw I assume since I cannot imagine this feature is not in the design..just can't be found. I have no idea about the educated guess of "installed plugins". My use of Firefox is just plain vanilla. I've never added any plugins to it.
Any help appreciated.See:<br />

How do I set the folder to which temporary files are saved?
As of now, whenever I click "Open with..." when downloading a file, a copy of that file saves to my desktop and never gets cleared. I'd like to set the temporary folder so I can manually clear it periodically, but the only file management option I seem to have is to set downloads to always save in a certain folder--which does not appear to include "temporary" files. How can I change the destination folder for temporary downloads? And why does Firefox download and save the files before opening them? I don't want to save every PDF I read online, yet this seems to be the default setting in order to open files.
You probably need to set that temp folder in the Safari Preferences to set them for other programs.
Safari > Preferences > General > Save Dowloaded Files To
You can also set the Boolean pref browser.helperApps.deleteTempFileOnExit to true on the about:config page.

Case 2: There is not enough free space on the disk to create the temporary file.
Case 3: A temporary file that cannot be modified already exist
