  • How add new field in layout in RDF using XML report definition

    Hi, ALL
Do you know how add new field in layout of existing report in RDF using XML report definition. If I try change anything in RDF layout, layout which defined in XML override report layout.

    hello,
in reports 6i we have this limitation, that you can not add a field to a report unless you re-default the whole report, as we do not support positioning-information in the customization file.

  • Oracle Reports Builder - RDF vs XML

    Hi
I was wondering if there are any major differences between RDF and XML versions of reports and any issues with deploying xml to the report server?
XML would certainly be easier to version control.

    Hi,
The XML version is easier and portable as you told.
But it has some problems too, The package body will not come properly when we convert for example.
Better to use standard format until otherwise, the Corp corrects the issues with XML version.

  • Put report .rdf file and .xml customization

    hi frnds,
where can i keep .rdf file and .xml file (for customization)? shall i keep on application server? now, to generate report i've written one script ...where can i keep this?

    Hi Tim,
Context: R12 France Telecom (FT) migration from 11i
FT Reports are complex and the quantity of data / size of files generated by reports can reach up to 20Go. So I need to convert RDF to DATA Template because RDF can not generate some so big files (limit=2Go in 11i and may be 10Go in 12)
I experience some troubles / issues / limits with reports conversion to XML.
1 - some Data templates are not generated because of error : [052107_102109040][][EXCEPTION] java.lang.IndexOutOfBoundsException: Index: 0, Size: 0. I sent you 2 mails in the past with error detail but have no answer.
2 - Data Templates are not directly usable because Reports include call to packages stored in PLL files. Pakages definition are well include in XML file generated by Report converter (1st step of conversion) but are not take in account when PL/SQL routine generation (Data template generation).
Can you help me especially for the 1st issue
I'd like to show a XMLP demo to FT using the Data source generator XDODTEXE in GL. I see XDOGLDEMO and GLGENJRNDT concurrent programs but there is no Data Definition / XML Data Template associated. Can you tell me if it exists a Data Template and where it can be retrieved from.

  • Data source for Deposit Advice (XML) and Live CheckWrite (XML) reports

    Hello All,
We need to customize the Deposit Advice (XML) and Live Check Write(XML) reports to accomodate a few business requirements. We already have customizations for these reports in non-XML versions. For Ex: USPAYPST.rdf for Deposit Advice report. As these non-XML RDF reports are going to be unsupported by Oracle soon, we need to customize the XML versions of these report available in R12.1.3.
As these reports are kicked off by the PYUGEN spawned program, therefore I need information on the data source for these reports as soon as possible.
Looking forward to your prompt help.
    Thanks,
    Rahul

Now, I have anew problem here. I modified the USPAYPST.rdf report for Deposit Advice and then changed concurrent program output to XML from Text.
I attached a RTF template to the concurrent program to have the output in XML.
When I run Deposit Invoice Report from the SRS window, it finishes off normally and log file says the number of records processed but no output file is generated.
I also tried looking into the XML generated through View XMl and there too no output file is generated.
I am confused if the Deposit Advice program can only generate Text output. As PYUGEN is the executable for this report, I have no idea if XML file can even be generated.
All pointers to this issue are welcome.
    Thanks,
    Rahul

  • Emsg/signal 11 and REP-3000 problems after tweaking a PDF/XML report

    Hello everyone,
Just wanted to check if anyone has encountered similar issues?
We have a custom rdf report installed by our Consultant/VAR, and is called / run from Oracle EBS using the Request Manager. This is an XML report that outputs a PDF file from a template. This report runs without problems.
We made a very slight tweak to the report's query, but now when we run the report, it reports an error, with the following message in the log file:
    EMSG:was terminated by signal 11
REP3000 internal error starting oracle toolkit
When we revert back to the earlier report, it runs without problems, but this new report reports this.
I am pretty sure the changes made to the report weren't the cause of this issue because the tweaks are very minor AND I remember our Consultant/VAR encountering this issue when they first developed the report. However, they kind of forgot how they solved the issue before.
Any ideas how to fix this?
    Thanks!
    Derrick

This is just to close off a post I submitted years ago...in case it might help someone else in the future ...
Everyone keeps saying to change the display configuration. And actually, they were correct!! We just had to change the s_display.
In our case, we just set the s_display to :
    :0.0instead of
hostname:0.0Then, we ran autoconfig for the Apps Tier.
For some reason or another, this worked.
This was on Oracle Linux 4, on EBS 11i.

  • GR 55 report updation and ke30 report related query.

    hi
The GR 55 report is not matching with the GL transactions.  There are some GL codes which are not appearing in the report at all. Kindly let me know where i can add the GL codes linking to the above report. Also there is difference in the report figure appearing for certain GL compared to the gl code balances.
Also Where i can get the linking tables for the data coming in KE30 reort please.

your looking Gl balances relating to cost center reports(Library -1VK Cost Centers) or profit center reports(Library- 8A2 EC-PCA)?
If your looking for the above go to GRR2, go the library(if it is cost center related 1VK, Profit center related 8A2) and double click on your Zreport and double click on the relevant account and check the gl accounts in characteristic values.
If it is relating to Financial Statement Key Figure go to FSI2, select the relevant report and check the same way

  • Printing parameter values in xml report, and displaying it in header of the

    Hi All,
Can anybody give me an idea to print the parameter values in the xml report.
My requirement is like, I have 10 parameters in report builder, I have generated the xml file and created the .rtf template and finally registerted in oracle apps. But now, the requirement is to print the parameter values in the report output.I don't see any xml tags in the xml output.
    Any suggestion will be appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.

I think all the XML attributes can contain lexicals. If you bring up the property palette against the report object you can just set the following:
    XML Tag Attributes: myParameter="&<P_1>"
where P_1 is your user parameter.

  • Problems with reports and XML-publisher - No XML

    Hi!
I'm having a problem with Apps and XML-publisher. I made a report file, which queries some views. When executing in reports, I get all the data I expect.
Now, when I upload the reportfile to Apps and let it generate XML, my xml-file is empty (well, almost empty)
    <?xml version="1.0" ?>
<!-- Generated by Oracle Reports version 6.0.8.27.0 -->
    <T03501684>
    <LIST_G_PERSOON>
    <LIST_G_PERSOON />
    </T03501684>
Anyone who can shed any light upon this problem?

OK, finally solved the problem... A good night's sleep always helps ;).
After just trying each queried table one after an other, I found the problem:
The difference between Oracle Apps (Dutch locale) and the reports builder (English) is the language... And our functional people have changed some names, but the Dutch ones, leaving the english names in place and one of the tables I query has language specific data, which is also appears in a where clause.

  • Retrieving data from a relational table and CLOB as a whole XML file

I created the table lob_example and I have managed to insert XML document into it using XML SQL Utility. In this document I put contents of <DESCRIPTION> tag into CDATA section.
    LOB_EXAMPLE
    Name Null? Type
    ID NOT NULL NUMBER
    DESCRIPTION CLOB
    NAME VARCHAR2(40)
But I could not retrieve this data properly. I can think of only one solution - to parse and build the whole XMLDocument. I found the suggestion of another solution to use Oracle8i views to do that in http://technet.oracle.com/tech/xml/infoocs/otnwp/about_oracle_xml_products.htm, but this text is not clear enough for me.
I would like to quote the fragment from document mentioned above, which is ambiguous for me:
"Combining XML Documents and Data Using Views
Finally, if you have a combination of structured and unstructured XML data, but still want to view and operate on it as a whole, you can use Oracle8i views. Views enable you to construct an object on the "fly" by combining XML data stored in a variety of ways. So, you can store structured data (such as employee data, customer data, and so on) in one location within object -relational tables, and store related unstructured data (such as descriptions and comments) within a CLOB. When you need to retrieve the data as a whole, you simply construct the structure from the various pieces of data with the use of type constructors in the view's select statement. The XML SQL Utility then enables retrieving the constructed data from the view as a single XML document."
The main question is - how to use type constructors in the view's select statement?

    Hello
Sorry for asking the same question again, but any responses would be greatly appreciated.
How to use type constructors in the view's select statement?
I could not find any answers for this question on Technet. Maybe the other approaches are more efficient to combine the part of data from CLOB with data from other column types?
    Thank you

  • Can you add comments to the XML reports other than one Block Comment and one Test Comment?

I know how to use Block Comments and Test Comments but if I need to add more comments to my XML report in a test other than one Test comment, is there a way to do this?  In other words, I would like to be able to add say 5 comment lines for a single test.  Also, can a Test Comment or Block comment be more than one line in length?  If so, how do you do that?

What version of TS do you have?  If you have 4.1 or better (might be possible in 4.0 I can't remember) you can just use the additional results.  So in the step properties you will see Additional Results.  Then just add as many as you want.
Then you will see it show up in the report like you want.  I couldn't get multiple lines to work in one comment.  I tried \n but that didn't seem to be supported here.
    Hope this helps,

  • Help-XML report which uses XSL-FO and XSL-FO contains OAF VO

    Hello All,
I want to know functionality of one XML report developed by Oracle.
From one oracle form after clicking one button, it is populating PDF file output of report to open.
Here is what Oracle has done to achieve this:
On the click of button on oracle form, it is calling one OAF form. (fnd_function.execute(function_name=> 'ONT_PRINT').
This OAF form contains nothing on its layout. One CO (File is attached) and AM is attached to this OAF page.
In CO, may be it is somehow it is calling RTF file.
I got the RTF file from XML publisher, RTF imports one XSL-FO (ONTBSAEXSL is a Template of XSL-FO type in Oracle apps in XMP Publisher administrator responsibility) file using <?import:xdo://ONT.ONTBSAEXSL.en.00/?>
In the XSL file, OAF View Objects has been used like,
    <xsl:variable name="LinesVO" select="/*/HeaderVO/HeaderVORow/LinesVO/LinesVORow"/>
What is the meaning of " /*/HeaderVO/HeaderVORow/LinesVO "? Does it mean LinesVO is getting called by HeadersVO. But in OAF this never happens.
I want to add some columns in the RTF from LinesVO. But "Unit price" is not available in LinesVO.
Do I need to extend this VO in JDeveloper and upload the .JPX and extended VO files?
I have done extending the VO, but no use..
    So,
    In short my question is,
If I extend the VO LinesVO by XXLinesVO, then will this <xsl:variable name="LinesVO" select="/*/HeaderVO/HeaderVORow/LinesVO/LinesVORow"/>
statement in XSL-FO use my XXLinesVO or LinesVO?
    Regards,
    Parag

I want to customize one RTF template by adding some columns. This RTF imports one XSL-FO stylesheet.
    RTF has tags like <?for-each:/*/HeaderVO/HeaderVORow/LinesVO/LinesVORow?>
and XSL file has tags like <xsl:variable name="InternalOrgName" select="/*/HeaderVO/HeaderVORow/InternalOrgVO/InternalOrgVORow/Name"/>
If I want to add one colun in LinesVO, what are all things I need to do?
I customized it by adding the new columns through JDeveloper and extending the VO's and substituting them, importing JPX and bounced apache.
But the XSL-FO file is very strange (attached herewith). Those changes are not reflecting in report even after extension.

  • Barcode's in R12.1.1 xml report output's (English and Arabic)

    Dear Frednds,
we are using R12.1.1 and we need to get the barcode output's (in place of numbers) in out xml report output's.
We need it in English report and also in Arabic reports (it has seperate arabic template file)
Please let us know the method?
    Regards,
    DB

    Desar Hussein,
    1) we have downloaded and installed the Font Code128bWinLarge.ttf on windows PC.
2)Set the barcode font for the required field in the rtf Template.
    3) Copied the font file, Code128bWinLarge.ttf to $OA_JRE_TOP/lib/fonts
    4) Copied xdo.cfg file from our local desktop where we have BI publisher installed to
    $OA_JRE_TOP/lib Directory.
5)added these lines locating barcode font location ($OA_JRE_TOP/lib/fonts
    /Code128bWinLarge.ttf)accordingly.
Now For English reports we are getting the barcode
But for Arabic reports we are getting junk characters
so is there any other font available for Arabic barcode.Plerase suggest
